I was so skeptical about going to the dentist after being away from one for so long but i was blown away after my visit here. From the staff to Dr.Mary was phenomenal they made me feel so comfortable they were so caring informative and detailed about their plan and future work. They show interest and care for their patients like family. One of the best dentist experiences ive ever had. AMAZING!

I had to get a tooth extracted a few weeks back and didnt feel a thing! I unfortunately have also had to get root canals, but through all of the procedures, the team at Southcoast Dental has put me first! I highly recommend the professionals Carlos and Mary Compean, and their team to put you first and give you the best care possible!

Ive been going to this dentist office for 10years now but about a year ago Dr. Urban retired and Dr. Mary & Dr. Compean took over. I was a bit nervous since we loved Dr. Urban, I am happy to report that Dr. Mary has been amazing! The Dental Hygenist Denise is amazing too and their office receptionist Elise is wonderful too. They are all very nice and we have always experienced pain free procedures with them. I love the way they explain everything and keep good records of our appointments and information. The office is clean, organized and makes you feel relaxed.

I was a patient of Dr. Urban for several years. It took me a long time to find a dentist that was fair on pricing and provided good bedside manner so I was sad when I heard he retired. I wish him the best. The new dentists that took over are very similar to Dr. Urban. There is a father and a daughter that are both licensed. I worked with the father, Dr. Carlos and he was great. We built some rapport, he shared some knowledge about dentistry (and life) and he listened to my needs as a patient. They still have the same, sweet staff along with some new folks. One of Dr. Carlos other daughters works as an assistant and she was great to work with too. I had a crown put in and she followed up with a phone call the next day to see how I was feeling. Truly a family atmosphere in the office. Highly recommended.

I was very hesitant to go during Covid 19. The staff was so polite to accommodate me and reassure me. Elise called and told me we have temperature checks and covered seats, hand sanitizer.I felt completely safe and at ease. Wearing the mask was no problem for me. Checking my temp again before I sat down put me at ease as well. Overall. Very safe environment and felt completely safe given the current pandemic.

If I could give more than 5 stars to Dr.Carlos and Dr. Mary I would. I called Cerritos South Coast Dental with a toothache and the staff got me in for an appointment very quickly! Everyone was super friendly and made me feel so comfortable, since I am not fond of going to the dentist. Thank you for helping me, I highly recommend this amazing dental office.

I was in search of a new Dentist and dread having to begin the process of doing a history check on the few candidates I’d selected. Added to this process is the COVID-19 pandemic which brought on another level of anxiety.I’d placed a call to Cerritos South Coast Dental to inquire as to what COVID-19 procedures/ practices they have in place to protect visitors/clients. All of my concerns disappeared after speaking with Elise she was soooooooooooooooo nice, informative, and professional.My experience got even better upon visiting the office. The office deco and lighting give a warm, calm, friendly welcoming vibe which mirrors each staff member I interacted with.Dr. Mary, Denise, Elise, Terri and one more person (sorry I can’t remember her name) You are the TRUE definition of AWESOME & GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE !!!. Cerritos South Coast Dental was an absolute comfortable experience. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating to me about my payment plan as well as my nerves towards being worked on. Dr. Mary was extremely nice and walked me through the steps of my appointment. She answered all my questions thoroughly with no problem. I would say this was a 10/10 experience and I will more then definitely come back.

Ive been a customer since 2011. Dr. Urban has always been amazing! Ive since had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Mary Compean and she carries her professionalism and talent just as well. Ive had Dona as my dental hygienist for the last few years and I absolutely love her! I recently brought my 4 year old to the office for a cleaning and she made the experience so welcoming. The staff are always top-notch and I love seeing Bonnie as I enter the office with her wonderful smile. I recommend this office for anyone in search of a new dentist and quality service.

Our dentist in Colorado retired, just as I needed a bridge. Dr. Urban was our dentist when we lived in Calif. He was so good that I decided to travel back to Calif in order to receive quality dental care. I was not disappointed. Dr. Urban is an extremely skilled dentist. He has the latest in equipment and technology. His staff is top notch...very friendly and professional. The follow-up was remarkable. Needless to say it was worth the trip.

My family has been with Dr. Urban since 1995. Dr. Urban and his staff are very personable. They take the time to get to know us as individuals and go out of their way to meet our needs. The office takes advantage new technology, the staff are always well trained in using the new equipment. Appointments are always on time (no waiting like doctor offices). Dr Urban is a great dentist and the staff is very professional. I had an excellent dentist who is also a high school friend but when I started working in Cerritos I broke a tooth and needed a dentist quickly. Lucked out and picked Dr Urban. That was about 20 years ago and Im still here. Recommend him highly. Its now been another year or so since I wrote the first part of this. Nothing changed...great staff, very good dentist and a very well run office. Highly recommend

Dr Urban and his staff are the best around. I had a deep phobia of going to the dentist before I met Dr. Urban and that was due to several painful past experiences from other Dentists. Moulino - Ive visited a few dentist in my life, but havent met anyone like Dr. Urban and his wonderful staff members. When you first walk in, you feel relaxed and comfortable. Excellent! Over the years, I have taken my family to quite a few dental offices and have had some really bad experiences...even having work done I know was not necessary. Google: Can I change it to SIX stars ? cuz theyre hitting it on all six cylindars, WOW ! this place is a DREAM - right from the forms you fill out, not ridiculous, with asking useless info, impossible to fill out, and up front with everything - no surprises, they let you know UP FRONT what the charges will be, even with the different options... they work with you to get the most benefit out of your insurance, instead of trying to stick it to you - the office staff is super friendly, but not phony friendly - even the younger assistants are compassionate, which is rare these days - the girls up front are super cool - LOVE THIS PLACE !

Dr. Urban is the absolute best! He and his staff are very compassionate and caring, they explain everything carefully, and are willing to answer my millions of questions! My wife is terrified of the dentist, and ONLY trusts Dr. Urban. He has a very gentle hand, and even though she still gets nerves, she will still go, and he can always make her feel more comfortable.I also love the desk staff, and the hygenists (I usually work with Donna, and Ive worked with Lilly before, both of whom are great!) We have already told everyone theyre NEVER allowed to retire. :D

In the past, my experiences with dentists were really quite scary and just all around bad. My anxiety level was very high in that about a week before my appointments, I would be sick to my stomach to think about even going. Dr Urban came recommended to me by a friend. After first meeting with him and experiencing his gentle and caring nature; I decided to give him a try. Dr Urban will be my dentist for-ev-er!! Dr. Urbans staff is also just as caring and I always feel important when I visit them.

My aunt doesnt do computers so I am writing this for her. She is so scared of dentists from what happened to her with bad dentist when she was a kid. When she called to schedule her first appointment Bonny told her how gentle Dr. Urban is. They made sure her insurance covered her there and when she got there everything was ready to go. Everyone there is so nice even the younger ones. That is not common anymore as a drive up burger stand will tell you from the rude behavior and fast talking young ones you cant understand. Not the case here. Very nice and easy to understand them when they talk. As soon as she finished the paperwork they took her in real fast. No Waiting! They gave her an estimate before starting to do fillings. and everything was organized and efficient. This is the best experience she ever had in a dentists office. She said that even if she didnt have insurance she would come here to pay cash. This dentist is the best around.

At age 74 I have seen many dentists, Dr. Urban is the only one I have actually looked forward to seeing. Wonderful attitude, wonderful staff, modern facility and all of the latest equipment has completely eliminated any fear that I have had of visiting the dentist.

I have been visiting Cerritos Southcoast Dental since Dr. Urban ran it. But lately after sale to Dr. Carlos Compean there is no quality in care.I visited this place regularly for general cleaning and time to time Dr. Carlos will take a look into my mouth. Last year when Dr. Carlos checked me he said I should get a crown instead of the filling in one of my teeth. I did not agree to him that time but then during each visit the staff will push me to get the crown on next visit. So finally, as I trusted Dr. Carlos, I agreed to get a crown in June this year. When I arrived for the crown I was told that there will be follow up visit for the real crown as they will install a temporary crown - this was bummer as so far they were telling it will be one short visit. Fine, I got the temporary crown on a Wednesday, I did not use one side of my mouth at all as I was instructed not to use it. Friday morning I was drinking water and the temporary crown came off, fortunately I did not swallow it. I called their office but this place is closed on Fridays so I called the emergency number that was given to me when I called the regular number. No one answered that emergency number. Couple of hours later, I called the emergency number again and asked if someone can call me back??? No one called that day. Imagine calling 911 and you get no one at the other end and no one calls you back for 24 hours?????My tooth was so bad that even gasping air was painfully hypersensitive let alone food or water.Next day Saturday, I got a call from this office and I was suggested to buy temporary dental glue(?) and put the crown back. Are you kidding me??? I dont have any idea what the orientation of the crown is.. So they arranged Dr. Carlos to open up the clinic for me and we setup a time for the same day. Dr. Carlos came to the office and fixed the temporary crown back in the position. I was also setup to get a crown in about a month.In July, when I came to get the real crown installed, I informed Dr. Carlos that if he can do something about hypersensitivity? He told me that he is not going to install the real crown as Ill have to get rid of hypersensitivity first and referred me to Care Endodontics. He also told me to inform that office once I get the procedure done and the office will accommodate me same day for real crown installation.It went downhill from here... I got the first appointment at Care Endo after two weeks. After checking my tooth, Dr. told me that Dr. Carlos dug too deep to damage the nerves and Ill have to go through root canal. I did not have a choice as I was in pain for over a month, I got root canal taken care of same day. This cost me more money and of course the insurance was used.When I called Cerritos Southcoast Dental to inform that I had root canal done they told me the first appointment with Dr. Carlos is after a week, when I informed that Dr. Carlos said he will accommodate me same day they just ignored and kept on saying if I need the appointment or not.... So rude.I got back to this place to get the real crown installed, I told Dr. Carlos that he performed an unnecessary procedure by pressuring me get a crown while I was not complaining of any discomfort and he should be responsible for, at least, the copay/coinsurnace I paid to get root canal. He refused and said the filling would have decayed and I would have needed new filling anyway. (seriously???)In summary, due to Dr. Carlos and staffs pushy sales techniques I had to suffer so much pain and lost money, enjoyment of food while embracing fear of breaking the crown I totally forgot using one side of my mouth. I am still in discomfort but Dr. Carlos only cares about his business not the patients.Some good staff is still there, like dental hygienist - gets 5*.Did I mention front office staff is very weird and rude? They will be nice if you look certain way.Not recommended if you want to trust your dentist. There are more places where youll find wayyy better care and trustworthy dentists.

Visited the office of Dr. Carlos and Dr. Mary Compean. Everyone was respectful and treated me with kindness. I never felt pressured into doing any work right away. They listened to my concerns and pains. Very professional staff and would recommend them to anyone looking for a dentist.
