Huntington Learning Center of Cedar Park did a fantastic job preparing our daughter for the SAT. They have excellent tutors who could relate well with our daughter and help her improve her reading, writing, and math skills as well as her test taking ability. They also did a wonderful job communicating with us on our daughters schedule, timeline, and progress. Our experience with Huntington overall was simply outstanding! Thank you Huntington Cedar Park!
My son was preparing for the ACT and we were looking for an organized program to help focus and enhance his efforts. We definitely found that with Huntington Learning Center! A friend referred us to them, and were doing the same for our friends now. I honestly cant say enough about the Huntington team. Theyre professional, organized, friendly, the tutors are GREAT, the administrators are top-notch, the practice tests and materials are very helpful. My sons score went up 8 points with Huntington. Its worth the time & money. Theyll help your child reach his/her goals. Id give them more than 5 stars if I could. THANK YOU Huntington team!
The Huntington staff made a welcoming first impression and they proved to be trustworthy throughout our experience. My son gained more than just tutoring and test prep for the ACT, he gained a team of professionals who believed in him. I would highly recommend the Cedar Park team.
We were so happy with the service we received at Huntington. My son recently completed ACT prep here, and I would highly recommend them. They were extremely encouraging and the tutors were exceptional. They were also so accommodating in any changes we needed to make and very flexible in providing last minute virtual options, if necessary. The feedback they provided for us as parents was great as well.
Thank you so much Huntington Learning Center of Cedar Park!! The staff and program you designed filled our daughter with the knowledge and confidence needed to achieve an outstanding ACT score! All of the positive feedback and interactions along the journey inspired our daughter. The amount of communication and flexibility in scheduling was so helpful to us as parents trying to juggle crazy schedules.
Our two kiddos have been attending Huntington of Cedar Park this past year. They have had an amazing experience and have made so much progress. We are absolutely in love with the staff and all the teachers. They make the experience challenging but rewarding. We would recommend Huntington over and over again.
SO thankful for the assistance with our daughters SAT prep. And very pleased with the results.Skilled, caring, invested tutors. Proactive, insightful management.
Average learning facilities.-Dirtier as the day progressed.-No hot water for sanitation or washing hands.-Needs better coroana virus policies and standards for sneezing/runny nose, possibly sick students.-Not alot of diversity amongst tutors.Basic and strict program.Expensive!Round rock location appeared to be better. Try that location instead. More diverse and very friendly. Great location.
Hunnington has made a world of difference for my son! He has ADHD, dyslexia, and learning difficulties in all areas. We have done speech therapy, OT, LENS, and Brain Balanceand private tutoring. Hunnington has by far made the biggest difference for my son. For the first time in 6 years he is reading on grade level and feels capable and confident with his school work. I love that I found this amazing place to support us with all of the school struggles he has. If your child is struggling with learning this is THE BEST PLACE!
The staff is always friendly, professional, and helpful. They go above and beyond to help students grow academically and build their confidence. I would highly recommend Huntington of Cedar Park!
Huntington has been a great place for my 1st grader to get caught up on his reading this year. He did not enjoy reading until he started at Huntington. He leaves from a 2 hour session happy and enjoying everything he did. He has gone from a low Kindergarten reading level in August to the end of 1st grade level reading by December!
When I walked in to the Huntington Learning Center I walked in as a broken parent. I walked in with a child who was starting to break as well. She was struggling with school so badly that it was a fight every morning to go cause she wasnt understanding what she was being taught. Her confidence was shredded and her little bright light was dimmed. We began Huntington and it was difficult for her in the first few months. She cried every time it was time to go. They stuck with us. They didnt even flinch and the difficulties with her crying. They encouraged her and showed her love, patience and acceptance. As the months went on she became more and more confident in her school work. She has made leaps and bounds with Huntington. They have been a true blessing to my child and I dont know where I would be without them. They have always been very good at communicating with me about where she is, where shes come from and where shes going. I just simply cannot praise Huntington enough for what theyve done for us. I would recommend them to anybody whos child is struggling no matter what theyre struggling with. It has been really life changing for us. My childs light is bright once again and I have Huntington to thank for that.
Over the past several years, we have attempted many forms of intervention for our daughter. We recognized she was struggling with math. We went through teacher parent meetings, counselors, and private tutors about how we can help her and support her. We used a private tutor, work books, software applications and programs. Although school staff said we were on the right track, we disagreed! When Covid hit, we knew it would not only impact her learning, but potentially set her learning growth back even more than it already had. After doing research, we decided it would be best to start a more proactive approach. We began looking at different learning centers. Huntington was recommended to us through a friend whose daughter that attended. So we called Huntington and made our appointment for our daughter to have her assessment for placement. What we didn’t know at that time was that the results we were about to see would confirm everything we knew. We went over the results with Naureen, who is AMAZING!! She saw that our daughter had fallen through the cracks of the education system. She wasn’t enough of a “problem child” to force teachers to dig deeper into her grade problems. And she was just good enough to make a passing grade and not get the attention she needed. This went on for years, and in a matter of hours Naureen and her amazing staff recognized the issues and came up with a rigorous plan to get this under control. We had check ins every couple of weeks to go over our daughter’s progress. She progressed so quickly. As I write this, I’m in tears. To see someone else be so invested in the success of our daughter fills my heart. They recognized that not only did she fall through the cracks, but no one else took the time to mentor her. This was the first time our daughter realized that there were educators that cared. They took the time to help her in a way that she understood. They took the time to get to know who she is. They became her mentors and her cheerleaders. She finally saw that there are people fighting for her. Our daughter is changed because of Naureen and her team. They changed the trajectory of her life. Before Huntington, our daughter had so much anxiety about school. She didn’t think too much about life after high school. But Huntington open her heart and her eyes to see that she has so many options and possibilities ahead of her. She is excited to talk about college and careers now. She changed this summer. We saw the weight lifted from her shoulders. We saw our bubbly and sweet daughter come back to life... Confidence BEAMING!! We are so thankful someone finally saw the potential we have always seen. They were able to dig deep into the problem and attack it at full speed. The staff at Huntington Learning Center is amazing! Our daughter comes home so excited to talk about how much fun she and her tutors had. They got to know her as a person and as a student. They always had so much great feedback after the tutoring sessions. We will always be so grateful and thankful to Naureen and the educators at Huntington. They truly care about making a difference in a child’s life.
Our second child is going through SAT prep with Huntington Learning Center of Cedar Park, and we could not be more pleased. My first childs score increased by 200+ points, and she earned valuable scholarships as a result. My second childs trajectory is moving in a similar direction. I think this is an investment that is well worth it! Thanks HLC!
My daughter flourished under the instruction of Huntington Learning Center Cedar Park. Pre-Cal was a challenge for her, and after just three sessions everything started to click. She found both in person and Zoom sessions extremely helpful. I highly recommend Huntington for any tutoring needs you may have for your children. We were incredibly pleased with our daughters experience, and appreciated the professionalism and care exhibited by all staff members with whom we interacted.
My 16 year-old son struggles with organization and authority, although he is very bright. The Huntington tutors have tapped into his learning style and communication style and he has made significant progress in just a few months. He wants to go to his tutoring sessions, which parents with kids like mine will understand is a testimonial in itself! The tutors and staff have communicated with me beyond my expectations. I wholeheartedly recommend Huntington.
Well.. ....As I sit here eating my hamburger and looking at the roses on the table wearing a cozy sweater, Huntington reminds me of home. Every staff member welcomes you in and just loves on your children like they are their own kids. My son has made tremendous gains within the last 3 months of starting. We all have open communication to PROCESS what his needs are and where he is thriving. SO THANK YOU Huntington for a job well done. We will be back. I promise.
Both of my daughters currently attend tutoring at Hunting Learning Center in Cedar Park and Im so pleased with and grateful for this experience. They were able to quickly identify the gaps and work towards filling them with amazingly talented and caring tutors. The office staff couldnt be more kind, hardworking and informative when it comes to discussing progress made and areas that could use a bit more work. Like I said earlier, Im so grateful for Huntingtons program and fabulous tutors. Working with them to has been such a positive experience.
Thank you for keeping my teenage son focused in his SAT prep program and for teaching the valuable test-taking strategies. He not only had a great summer in your program, but also he is going back to school prepared and more confident. Your instructors are of the highest quality who knew right away at what level to begin instructions for my son and no minutes were wasted. We appreciated being flexible with make-up session to accommodate his extracurricular activities. I would highly recommend Huntington at Cedar Park to my friends and family.
Could not be happier with Huntington Learning Center. They have done wonders for our kids!
Choosing Huntington in Cedar Park was by far the best choice for my children. Janet and her staff/teachers are amazing. They truly care about all of the kids. I wish schools taught the way Huntington does. My boys left Huntington feeling confident in their knowledge and able to perform above grade level. Both of my boys actually enjoyed going to tutoring!I love the Huntington program and have recommended it to others. It is definitely money well spent.
I searched endlessly to find a tutor online at Care.com and centers across Cedar Park, Leander and Georgetown. I luckily found Huntington Learning Center in Cedar Park. I was so impressed with their reviews that I made a phone call for a consultation. I was extremely impressed with this company and so grateful I made that call. My child was struggling with her confidence in school and had a difficult time with math and needed additional assistance with reading. She absolutely LOVES her tutor. Even living through these COVID days, we have benefitted greatly with utilizing HLCs virtual private tutoring sessions via Zoom. My daughter has increased in her abilities so quickly in the last couple of months and she now LOVES math when she despised it. She loves the fact she can stay home to do her sessions - it’s easier to be at home and more convenient. She has developed a wonderful relationship with her tutor. She adores her!! My daughter describes her as “nice, funny, fun to be with, and she’s helped build up my confidence in my schoolwork.”I highly recommend Huntington Learning Center. Give them a call. You won’t be disappointed. The owner and staff are absolutely charming and wonderful to work with. They have a deep, sincere care for children’s educational success and want to make the experience comfortable and positive for children and parents. I feel so blessed to have found them. Thank you, Huntington Learning Center, for all you have done for our daughter!!
Our daughter exited first grade being very deficient in her reading level. We started tutoring at Huntington over the summer before entering second grade and her reading has seen great improvement. The staff there is nothing but professional and our daughter is always eager to go to there twice a week to keep growing as a reader. I highly recommend Huntington.
My daughter loves her sessions! It has really helped with her confidence level at school. The staff is knowledgeable, professional and welcoming! I would recommend this program to anyone needing to give their children some outside of school support!
**Warning Long Post...this place has great communication! To give some background, we moved from Port Saint Lucie, FL about 10 months ago. Tutor assistance places are not common or used where we are from. We also took our kids out of Private Christian school to a huge Public School. I was worried my 3rd grader would be left behind and was seriously frustrated with the learning curve. As a mother, its difficult when you see your kids struggling and arent sure how to help. My son also has ADHD with a 504 plan at school. I ended up finding Huntington by driving by the half price bookstore. I called the number on the door and had a great consultation with someone over the phone who set up an initial consultation in person after a test day for my son (without us present). Be advised, the test is pretty brutal (several hours) and had to be split into 2 days for our son. The test helps Huntington understand the biggest areas of opportunity and strengths in learning. I wouldnt be surprised if they used that time to learn my kids learning style too. After the test, we were sat down to review the results. Our son had alot of work to do to be at Texas level. He tested as low as 1st grade for reading and 1st grade for some math. Fast forward 100+ hours later (3x/week for 2hrs). My son has drastically improved in every area of learning. He is testing at 4th grade level now and has the confidence to know he can solve any problem. The trick is to make the work just difficult enough to keep being motivated to succeed, and teach/learn how to deal with situations that progressively get more difficult over time. I think the 1-on-1 learning has also made sure he is always learning at his level. The entire time he was learning, we were filled in and I was shocked that we have still seen improvement after a sudden change to virtual (I was worried his improvement would suffer due to COVID-19). Before school shut down, the director was even present for our parent teacher conferences at the school and made sure his 504 needs were being met. My husband and I dont regret our decision for a minute. Now in terms of finances...they charge by the hour and by the subjects you choose for your child. We selected reading/math/writing (I think it was $60-65/hr and they recommended around 130hrs to get him comfortable). There were multiple options in terms of payment methods. We decided to pay for the whole thing up front with our debit card because there was actually an incentive to pay in full. Unfortunately, Im not much help in terms of the other payment processes available. In terms of scheduling, they are extremely flexible. They will work with you late nights and weekends. Its been great because my husband and I both work and have 2 other kids to run around. The staff is amazing and have become great friends and the tutors become very close with your kids. I thought my son would hate it from the beginning(he doesnt like staying still very long), and he still gets excited to explain his time with them. Due to covid, he is now a mix of virtual/in person. When he goes in, he has to where a mask and wash his hands before and after and I wait in the parking lot for less hassle. In 3 weeks, our son will take another assessment to show how far he has come, and see if there is anymore improvements we can focus on. We are trying to decide if it makes sense for him to continue since he is above grade at this point. Either way, I have never felt pressured and know they genuinely care for my child. I will never consider any other company besides Huntington for my kids needs. Hope my review helps someone lost soth their child make a decision. I know you wont regret it. 🖤🤍
Personalized plans for my kiddo and very flexible to work with our crazy schedule. The staff is available and has great communication around progress toward our goals.
As with our first child, our soon to be first grader is having problems reading. It turns out after being tested at Huntington in Cedar Park, her building blocks are not solid and she has to work pretty intensively this summer just to be ready for first grade. We havent signed up yet, and if money wasnt prohibitive, I would not hesitate. The owner and teacher that assessed her was professional, all smiles as soon as we walked in, and very honest about the work we have to do. There are coupons for the learning assessment and I highly encourage you to do it soon and to do it here. Mommy doc
We have had two children go through the Huntington program. After the instruction, both scored 35s on the ACT. Our older daughter is now at Rice and our son is off to a great start in his college admissions process. I think a lot of their success is due to the terrific preparation from Huntington. They were taught great strategies, and it really helped motivate their studies. Suzanne Vanderberg was a particularly caring and patient instructor especially for our son. Thanks, Huntington!
Our daughter has ADHD and had been incapable of keeping up with school work, thus falling several grade levels behind the other students. She should have been grade level 5, but she was coming in at the 2nd grade level on all testing! We talked to Huntington over the Summer and put our daughter in their care. In the past several months, shes gone from 2nd grade level up to early 4th! Shes catching up, has more confidence, and is enjoying her tutoring sessions!
This is the best tutoring place Ive ever gone to. The teachers are so nice and helpful.
When we came to Huntington Learning Center we were desperate. My son was severely behind in reading and was struggling through first grade. We strongly considered leaving him behind a grade but did not even know if that would be enough to help him. He appeared to have dyslexia and ADD. After having him and my daughter tested we discovered that my daughter was actually behind as well due to the school curriculum. This came as a shock to us because she had great grades at school. But the realization was that she is only being graded on what she was being thought. Knowing that we would not remain in the same school next year due to an upcoming move we feared that she would be behind other students. The reality was now we were looking at 2 kids with additional tutoring needs and expenses. We were already sending our children to a private school we hesitated committing to Huntington because of the additional expenses. We met with Janet and she came up with comprehensive plan for both kids. The changes she promised they could make seemed unbelievable, but I really had no other solution, so I thought to at least give it a try.I can tell you now this program has changed my life. My son went up 6 reading levels in 3 months. I am blown away with the results. My daughter is now excelling in all academics appropriate for her grade level and grade levels above. Most importantly is the confidence they have both gained from acquiring the skills Huntington has taught them. Reading and writing is essential for any and all success in school. My son is not only finally on level, he feels smart and secure in his knowledge and skills. It was the best investment we ever made for both kids!!!!
My son started at Huntington in February and we just did our 50 hour review! He went from the 21st percentile in reading to the 77th percentile and the 49th in math to the 95th! His confidence and skill level has significantly increased and he loves reading and writing now! The staff at this location is amazing and worked with us on schedules to make sure he was getting the most out of his tutoring. I’m so excited to see his continued growth over the summer!
I have worked with the Center owners, Jim and Sherry, for almost a year now. I would definitely recommend Huntington to any parents looking for top of the line tutoring services for their children. The center instructors have years of experience and create a customized tutoring plan for each of their students.
This place has helped me so much and I love it here they have helped with my math so much
Great tutoring center! You can tell the owners are passionate about helping their students succeed. Highly recommend!
We brought our son here to help out with academics in school. On the first day he had a female teacher I walked back in after the lesson (because he was clearly upset) only to find the same teacher speaking poorly of him to the administration with a disgusted look on her face and clearly negative hand gestures. I spoke with the administrator (owner of this and the S. Austin facility- NOT Suzanne) and she didnt seem very interested in helping with the situation. We requested he never have that teacher again but they did not respect our request. We tried to work with them for a few more months but after an incident that was misrepresented on their end and without even consulting with us or our son as to what happened they dismissed him from the facility. Hes only 11. So, a word of caution, unless your child is a darling snow flake that learns quickly I would recommend spending your veritable mortgage of tuition on another establishment.
I was looking at the reviews and felt some were not an accurate representation of the center. We have a 9-year-old son who has autism/ADHD and has had a difficult time with school. We signed him up with Huntington early this year and have nothing but wonderful things to say about them. Nolan works with several tutors who are all educated and highly qualified. Nolans main tutor is a special education teacher who my child absolutely loves. The entire team is very friendly and knowledgeable, and the curriculum is very structured and extremely effective. Nolan has 1 on 1 tutoring, but there is also group tutoring available. Another great thing is that there is no homework to take home like a lot of other tutoring programs. All work is done at the center. Huntington is very familiar with the struggles that autism and ADHD bring, and actually employee specialists in these fields to assist with the creation of education plans. Janet, the director, has a special interest in children with learning disabilities and has even helped me to advocate for my child in the school system, attending ARD meetings and helping me to obtain needed services. The programs are not the cheapest in town, but you get what you pay for. I highly recommend Huntington!
This place has been a lifesaver. Our 6 year old daughter was very behind on reading after a difficult year in Kindergarten. She was barely at a Kindergarten level. No matter how much we worked with her at home she wouldn’t progress. We went into the summer of 2017 very worried about if our daughter was going to be ready for first grade and would we be able to get her reading where it needed to be. As a somewhat last ditch effort we went to Huntington Cedar Park and had an assessment done.Janet explained the assessment and showed us our daughter’s completed tests, which were very detailed and extensive. My wife and I signed our daughter up and agreed to do the extra work at home. The summer required some work on our part and on our 6 year old’s, however, our daughter absolutely LOVED it. Going to Huntington was one of her favorite parts of her week. She had multiple sessions a week with a few rotating teachers and she always came back with a story about how funny they were or what she learned that day. The tutors aren’t kids, and you don’t get a work packet and then sent home saying “see you next week.” The tutors are professional teachers and our daughter got one on one tutoring for hours.By the end of the summer and the start of this school year, our daughter is reading at second grade level! It’s unbelievable, she reads books all the time at home, is constantly trying to spell out big words, and Huntington is now working on improving her math skills. I’m so glad we decided to sign her up and it’s been one of the best investments we could possibly make for not only our daughter’s education, but for peace of mind knowing that she’s constanly improving every single week.Mid Kindergarten level to second grade level in about 4 months...your mileage may vary with this, but it can be done.
We are very pleased with their service. My son’s SAT score increased tremendously after he attended Huntington
We attended the Cedar Park location for assistance with physics. When we showed up the tutor was late, rude, and extremely upset that we did not have my sons textbook. We did have a comprehensive list of subjects that needed to be addressed that my sons teacher had complied, past tests, and notes. I was so shocked at the tutors aggressive behavior I told him we were leaving. The tutor then apologized and the rest of the session went ok. When I as approached by the director about continuing sessions I expressed my concerns with the tutors behavior. I said I would consider a 2nd chance which I thought was more than reasonable on my part. I was told I needed to pre pay $900 for a 2nd chance. I declined, and offered to pay for a one time visit so THEIR tutor could prove he wasnt a complete jerk. This morning I am told they will kindly allow this but now my son needs testing because It would be detrimental to everyone involved to continue in this manner. So apparently its our fault and now my son has to be assessed only because I didnt feel being late rude and upset was OK in a tutors behavior. I dont see how their reaction to what happened is at all acceptable or fitting for the circumstances.
They tested our son and gave him very specific tutoring for his needs. His SAT score went up 270 points from 1280 to 1550. We couldn’t be happier!
Awsome! Got better grades
