I was a student for a year. It was a very good experience. This type of Karate will definitely teach you the Martial Way.

Would give Zero stars if I could. Pure McDojo. Was with the organization for years and watched as they initially preached against other systems that were purely for profit and eventually progressed to telling me that in order to get promoted I needed to spend X amount of money and if I spent XXX amount, the promotion was assured. Nothing short of scam. Strongly advise against getting involved.

One of the best karate clubs I have seen. Very professional staff that really care about each individual student. My son was there for about a year and really enjoyed it more than any other karate club we tried to have him join. Yes, you have to pay for a belt or uniform but isnt that naturally expected? Lee Dawson is a great instructor and runs the dojo very professionally. You wont find the expertise, professionalism, and dedication the Seishin Ryu Karate Kokusai club has at very many other places. This place is karate at its best with great role models as instructors.

I am an instructor here, so the 5 star rating is a bit biased...In the decades i have spent training and teaching at the club, I have NEVER seen anyone promoted in rank by paying extra. Rank is not assured. It is never given. It is earned. Paid for with blood, sweat, sometimes tears, and time in the dojo. This club has been in existence for almost 50 years. It is one of the oldest, longest lasting traditional dojos in the Midwest! It wouldn’t have lasted this long, nor would it continue to thrive if we were employing poor business practices or scamming people. We hold very high standards regarding the training of, and what is expected of our students. Too high for some. Out of the tens of thousands of people who have walked through the dojo doors, very few make it to black belt. Even fewer go farther. Again, rank is not assured, never given, and ALWAYS earned.
