Love this place! Their business model is winning! A black card membership gets you into clubs all over the country! Trainers, workout on your own, tanning, hydro-massage!!!! OMG such a good deal!!!

Guy working the front desk at 1830 on Saturday was a rude sob. Acted offended that I came in asking about a membership; had the gall to ask if I had a checking account before even telling me the price. Amazing how some people think that they are doing someone a favor by doing their job. Just a rude little man that does not need to be in a job with customers. I will go to a place that values their customers instead....

I’ve been gone for three months n they won’t cancel my subscription over the phone they want me to come there in person. That’s crazy cause u keep taking my money and am not even around to use the gym. Now they tell me to write a letter, why write a letter if l can also call. They just want to make it difficult to cancel the subscription. I will never ever again sign up.

I forgot my key card maybe 3-4 times out of the 2-3 years I’ve gone to planet fitness. Every single time, all I had to do was tell them my name, and it was no problem for them to look me up. The last time I came in, and will be in, is because of one of the really muscular trainers (can’t remember his name) was extremely rude and impatient. He obviously didn’t want me there, and after explaining to him that this had happened to me a few times before, and I was looked up in the system with no issue, he became even more upset and tried turning the situation around on me and told me I was somehow being disrespectful. He was obviously upset from the moment I got to the counter, and acted with zero professionalism at all. This was the first time I’ve ever spoken with him as well; and I’m never the type to get upset towards people who work in customer service. This is maybe the 4-5th review I’ve ever left in my entire life. But I certainly can’t wait to come in and cancel.

Came here to workout. I was in the area for business. This planet fitness is very clean. The staff there was very cool relax. They have all the equipment to work your body. They only thing I dont like about this location is that this Planet Fitness is not open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Really clean really friendly staff. Staff member Chiyaka treated me really well and he was very pleasant and welcoming. I travel a lot and must say this is one of the best Planet Fitness locations Ive been to this month! Keep up the good work management! I highly recommend this location.

A great value and good atmosphere, plenty of machines of all sorts, I never find myself waiting for equipment. Friendly, helpful staff, and clean showers. Only wish there was a rowing machine.

This is my favorite PF. The staff are always nice, and the equipment is set up in a good way.

From lifting weights to working out on the recumbent bike to the treadmill you can also do hydrotherapy two tanning and total body enhancement is on the black package.

All of the workers are really nice and they are constantly cleaning, wiping down, refilling the paper towels and cleaning solution to make us feel comfortable and not worried about equipment not being clean!

The best gym environment Ive ever been to. The staff is friendly and the machines are clean. The culture of the place is awesome too. People always clean off their machines and the spa area is awesome! Would love to see a pool at some point but thats just a minor thing. Prices are good and I love working out here! Never had a bad experience at both locations I go to in Cedar Rapids and Cedar Falls!

My fave gym by far. Rates are very affordable. Definitely get the black card, it comes with so much more. It’s always clean and the staff is friendly and easy to talk to. I can go in and get my work out done without being harassed or feeling uncomfortable. Equipment is easy to use, but if you do have questions they don’t make you feel stupid. It’s a great, safe environment and experience.

It’s a nice clean place but the employees can be unpleasant. I had a time where I tried to use a pull up bar in a side area that only had too machines in it and a employee told me to leave cause he was going to have a class for the next several hours there. He had only one chick using a machine and I’m like really? I can’t wait tell you guys are done and practice on the pull up bar? Nope made me leave.

Great place. Very friendly staff. Black card membership is the way to go. Get all the benefits they offer. Its worth the $. Great environment to workout at. Machines are always clean. Great variety of machines to work all muscle groups.

The staff here is always friendly, attentive and helpful. The price is amazing for what you get, and the upgraded membership is well worth it too. The hydro massage is awesome, and this is from a sufferer of chronic inflammation who requires more than your standard massage. It’s nice to bring my son along or a friend when he doesn’t want to go. The 24-hour availability on weekdays is nice because I’m always busy. I haven’t utilized the training yet, but it’s a nice perk as well. The equipment and facility is all nice and well-maintained. I definitely recommend them.

Whats the difference between five stars down to one star? 3 is ok and 2 is dislike. A gym is a gym unless it has certain factors that bump it up to a great place (5 stars). Selection of flavored beverages are consistently at a minimum. All the equipment works and clean (thanks to us members). Changing rooms in the shower stalls are barely helpful being a metal seat instead of a flat bench. With a bench you can sit and dig through your bag beside you no matter how wide you are. Which is a reason to go to the gym in the first place, to help get smaller. With the metal chair, NOT SO MUCH. Showers stalls arent kept up the way they should be seeing that the staff is always on their phones at the front instead of taking care of the details. The place is hardly crowded and a two member staff team can most definitely do more than whats being done. Allergic to dust? Dont look up cause the ceiling could use a good one night of cleaning. The fan blades are caked with dust and the truss holding the tvs could use a solid cleaning. Not to mention everything else up there. Again... The details is what keeps this place NOT A FIVE STAR. If possible, Id give a 2 1/2 star

Planet Fitness is a scam.I came to Planet Fitness needing a simple one month membership to a gym. I dont live in the area, and I would only be there for a month for business. The worker signed me up for a plan. I asked her if it was possible to cancel the monthly payment right at the moment so I didnt have to worry about it with my travels. She said no problem and made a note of it.Im a worrier about things like this, so I double checked a few weeks later. The worker told me I was still signed up for the subscription and she could cancel me out of it. She needed the manager. He wasnt working. I said it wouldnt be a problem, and I would stop in again next week.Now the manager finally canceled the membership but told me I already had a pending charge for the next month because I hadnt canceled soon enough. The day I signed up when I first asked would have been soon enough. The day I came in to double-check would have been soon enough.I asked what could be done, and he said I had to call corporate. He couldnt fix it.I came into the door on the first day and told them I didnt want to sign up if a simple one month membership was impossible. Now Im here paying double because the first worker didnt do her job and the manager wasnt in to do his job. Im sure calling/emailing corporate will be lots of fun.Not to mention FIT is right down the street and offers better equipment for $6 more. I should have gone there a paid a tab bit more instead of this scam.

Best gym in the Waterloo-Cedar Falls area especially if you are into weight training. Staff is super nice and the gym is organized well so its easy to get to a machine. Factor in the cost and it is an easy choice.

They are doing the best to insure social fitnessing and insure the facilities are clean.

I love working out at PF! This has been my favorite place to work out in Cedar Falls. I have been a member at both Snap & the Rec Center and never felt a sense of community. The machines are clean and maintained. There are lots of treadmills, elliptical machines, and a variety of weight lifting options. My favorite parts of PF are the employees and the classes. They seem to really enjoy being at work and are super helpful when you need something. A few of them even know me by name! The classes are fun and Brad, the trainer, does a great job of pushing the class but still making it a great time. I am glad I made the decision to join! Thanks for the smiling faces you guys & gals!

Convenient place with all your workout needs! Very friendly staff with clean facilities. Planet Fitness is a great place to reach your goals! No free weight bars, but plenty of suitable machines and dumbells!

Great place to workout. But it gets busy at 5-530. So if you lift free weights I recommend getting there at 430. Otherwise you will have to work around guys using the benches for multiple workouts.

Love this planet fitness...they are super friendly and awesome. Everything is clean. I dont gross out using any machine or the free weights. I would recommend any novice who is being constantly challenged at other gym by the Gym Bro or Sis intimidation.

I started planet fitness a month ago and I love it. The weights are easy to use, the machines are clean and there are multiple so you dont have to wait. The staff is very friendly and the trainer helps you to get the work out in that you need. I highly recommend Planet Fitness.

You hear some negative about PF, but I love it. Great equipment, well maintained, great tanning facilities as well. Love the water massage chairs as well.

I was very impressed with the young lady working this morning. I think she cleaned every cardio machine while showing people around the gym and helping people at the front. She also was vacuuming around all the machines. She had no help and was very busy but didn’t stressed one bit. Love what I saw this morning by her!

The young girl working this morning was vacuuming, cleaning machines and working hard with members. She was the only one working but was always helping members and always had a smile on her face! Recommend this gym to anyone while she’s working!

The staff was not helpful whatsoever when I joined PF. As a new member I wasnt shown anything or given prompts on how to do what I needed. No idea where anything was so I basically just ask as I need but come on no direction at all. The tanning is a nice bonus in the black card so thats basically whats keeping me there because its definitely not the staff who just stands around.

I come into planet fitness every morning and always am happy with the customer service I receive and how clean the gym is. Jaden(the morning staff employee) is always so friendly, always smiling, and is always out on the floor cleaning and talking with members. Love it here!

This is a great facility except for one thing: the bikes are WAY too close together. I am there to get exercise and better myself but we all have a starting point. My starting point which isnt HUGE isnt able to get between the bikes easily. Judgement free zone is great (truly it is why I use PF and not the WRC at UNI) but your facility seems to only expect thin folks to go.

I have been working out regularly at this location pretty much since it opened. The staff is usually friendly and they do a good job cleaning but I have one particular issue that is causing me to look for a new gym. My work reimburses my gmy membership expenses, so once a year I call in to have them email me my attendance and invoices so I can get that reimbursement. Now this is not an exaggeration but every single year I go to do this I literally have to call them at least 3 or 4 times before someone actually does it. One time I could’ve understood, but it’s happened to me 3 times now where I had to call over and over to get that information. Not really sure where the lack of communication is coming from but it’s simply ridiculous. Furthermore, the exact same thing happen to my husband. My work will reimburse any gym in the area so there’s absolutely no reason for me to continue on here when they make it so difficult on me each year.

The Planet Fitness located in Cedar Falls, IA is clean and the staff is friendly. I havent experienced a time where I felt the gym was too busy. Theres always equipment that I can use. Locker rooms are clean.

Staff is solid, but there is a reason why the employment has such a huge turnover. Morally this gym is just after your income, plenty of better places in the Cedar Vally to workout.

Although I’m not a huge fan on the concept of Planet Fitness. I wish they would remove the “Lunk”remarks on the wall. It should not matter if you’re a longtime fitness person or a first timer all should be made to feel welcom. The staff here makes up for this. They are awesome to interact with on a day to day..

I always go at 1-2 in the morning when I cant sleep and the guy that is there every night always has a smile and is super helpful if you have any questions on how to use any of the equipment. I always come at this time because I know it will be just me and maybe two to four other people which is great because I hate working out when I know there are a bunch of people around.It always smells clean when I go in--even on the rare occasion that I go in when it is busier--and everything is always spotless. I like that the locker rooms dont smell like b.o. or feet like most gyms that I have been to.

As soon as I walked in the door on my first visit I could tell there was something special about this place. There was a pleasant, almost magical aroma pervading the air that reminded me of the days of yore, when men rode gallant steeds and women commonly resided in towers guarded by dragons.The woman at the front desk had to pause from tutoring young homeless children via webcam to assist me, and as soon as she spoke to me I felt as though we had known each other for many lifetimes.She gave me a brief tour and showed me the backroom where the sword in the stone is kept. She explained to me that no man yet has had the strength, let alone the valor, to pull the sword from its sacred resting place. I thought that was a nice touch for a gym, gives you something to work towards, you know?The other people working out in the gym all knew my name before I introduced myself; it was as if they had all been expecting my arrival. It made me feel very welcome and at home.Now lets talk about the gym equipment. I couldnt believe the results! I have a sneaking suspicion their machines are imbued with some sort of ancient magick, because, though I started weighing at a mere 80lbs, on my first visit I was able to bench press over 700lbs!!! That equals almost 9 million kilos, can you believe that??? And since joining Planet Fitness 3 hours ago, I have packed on an incredible 150lbs of pure, sexy muscle. Ive been fighting back the ladies with a stick, Im telling you!All in all, I would probably recommend Planet Fitness to a friend or neighbor or step-cousin. Thanks Planeteers!

Clean and good hours except for the weekends.

I tried to go in on the 10th of July to cancel as I run outside in the summer months, the doors were locked at 2pm when the hours stated aee 7am-7pm. As a busy mom, I wasnt able to make it back until Tuesday the 12th, they wrote the 14th on my cancel form. When I discovered they still debited my account I gave them a call. Basically was told tough luck, they had every right to debit my account. Needless to say, I will NOT be back, nor will I recommend to anyone to go there. Poor customer service, the manager wouldnt even get on the phone, they made Jenna tell me. Also, when told she was going to put me on hold, she did not, she put the phone down and all I heard was laughter in the background.

Good place to workout when your work and school schedule is super busy. Staff are friendly and the gents bathrooms are clean.
