Miguel the owner, is very knowledgeable and will remind you constantly that he is an engineer. However his customer service is terrible. They installed a unit in my house that didn’t work for 10 days. They finally came and fixed it. Then after less than a month it started malfunctioning this according to a third-party that diagnosed the air conditioner they put in was fatigued and not working properly. It literally stopped functioning. They came back to the house as it was still under warranty and tried to blame the existing air conditioner, the vents, a tree that was removed, everything but owning up to their faulty system. When he tried to sell me another AC unit, I knew they were full of it. Beware!!!

I needed to replace my homes original HVAC and water heater, and after getting vague quotes from several companies in Palm Springs, I found Desert Tech—when a neighbor recommended its owner, Miguel. Miguel patiently explained what would work best in the condo, and after I made a choice of systems and products, he and his men speedily addressed the situation. The condo presented some complications along the way, but nothing threw Miguel; he handled every twist and turn with aplomb. Very professional company! When I woke up one morning, it was 87 degrees in my house. I called my previous AC company that I had used in June, two months prior. I called 5 times and left messages. No reply. I called Desert Tech and the receptionist answered right away and was very cordial. She set me up that very day within 2 or 3 hours. Robert was the technician and he explained everything and checked every part of my AC unit, including Freon levels. The part he replaced was the capacitor for 64.84. It was the same part that was replaced 2 months prior only it was priced at 160.00. I recommend this company. They are very honest and reasonably priced.

Desert Tech installed a dual mini Samsung heat pump system with professional precision that truly impressed me. With little extra cost they moved my original mini system to a new location. They were truly willing to please not only with the installation but also with tutoring me and my wife with a wireless system and the manual remotes. I have nothing but respect for this company and its employees. They accomplished exactly what I expected (which was a lot), even new variations that needed to be exchanged or upgraded. With all this in mind I agreed to have them service my systems annually with peace of mind. I recommend highly!

When I put out the RFP on the Internet, I received 7 phone responses within a day. Miguels was the 7th. The first 6 were the big guys. No one was an engineer, they were all inexperienced polite customer service types who didnt know FREON from CONDENSATE. I am an engineer type who taught chemistry and physics for 13 years back in NJ. I wanted someone who could talk shop and get into the weeds. Miguel was more than happy to oblige, and he sold me on a contract before I even met him or did research. Subsequently, I met his staff and was even more impressed. The installation was a complete replacement with some architectural modifications so that filter access was easy and visually pleasing. The entire installation began within a week, and was finished in 2 days! I was in awe of such a service. Desert Tech Air Conditioning & Heating have been servicing my Air Conditioners and Heating equipment for about 8 years and they have always been timely and are very professional during the maintenance and they displayed excellent customer service. They serviced my air conditioners as I had called them because my electricity bill was about $480.00 a month and I felt there was something wrong with my units. After they serviced my Air Conditioners my bill was reduced to $210.00 a month. This was fantastic as I was saving over $210.00 a month. Recently I purchase a new air conditioner and they gave me the best quality service. I have also maintained my air conditioners by having a Yearly Service Maintenance Program so I can make sure my units are working economically and eficiently. I am very happy with Desert Tech and I always refer my friends to them as they are an Excellent company.

Ive been using Desert Tech for at least two years now. Staff is knowledgeable, professional, good rates too. When I first hired them they pointed out a big gap on my AC unit that was allowing air to escape. Because of this the air wasnt cooling enough and the unit would keep running almost continuously. The serviceman went out of his way to fix it. After that Ive had no problems. I service my unit twice a year, usually Miguel the owner calls you back to check and make sure everything was taken care of.

I got the job booked within one day of my first call to Desert Tech. They called us to schedule the work at a convenient time for us and we agreed on a date/time one week later. The technician arrived just after the beginning of the promised window. He was courteous, professional, informative, and got right to work as soon as he came in. He cleaned the furnace in the attic, which accumulates a ton of sand in the desert. Outside he found a failing capacitor and replaced it on the spot with one from the truck. After all of that, the job was completed in about 1.5 hours! The single best quality of the whole experience was the technicians politeness and professionalism. I love it when a service company actually treats you like a customer. Just wonderful!
