Here’s how my experience went: Upon meeting at Fosdick’s office I had to insist that masks be worn. Apparently they aren’t concerned about our pandemic. When asked about his fee he stated a range of $275 to $350 depending upon the number of “schedules “ filed. I met with him on June 29th. I heard nothing until July 15th. I then learned my fee would be $462!! Our tax returns are very simple and I have never paid more than $300. Apparently they make it a practice to automatically add an $80 fee for an “audit protection plan” which was never discussed and never agreed to. Honestly, I have never heard of such a fee. I demanded that be removed and ended up paying $383. This company regularly advertises in local papers. My suspicion is that they constantly need new customers because they are not interested in building a lasting relationship with repeat customers.
Bruce has done our taxes for at least 20 years. I’ve know Bruce and Cheryl for as long and he has always been helpful and has looked out for my best interest. He’s not fancy but he doesn’t have to be. And they are always timely with notifications for us.
We have used Bruce as our 1st and only CPA. He has been prompt, timely, thorough and friendly. Have recommended him to others and actually found through a friend recommend. Good people, great service.
Bruce is very good at what he does and provides a thorough and accurate return for a reasonable fee. I wont go to anyone else and Ive sent multiple friends who also had great experiences.
Bruce is a nice enough guy, however he set my expectations that my tax return would be completed in the next following days. 2 weeks later (1 day before the tax filing deadline) I had 4 calls into Bruce and not one single phone call back from him. I would not recommend Bruce for your tax return. I am sure Bruce would have done a good job, but he acted like he was too busy to even return my call let alone work on my tax return.
