Called to get help. the person I spoke to was snotty and rude they provide no help Ive ever seen. and told me I would be charged for them to take an animal that wasnt even mine and I had just tried to help. do not contact them they are worthless
The staff was amazingly friendly and the place was so clean! Totally impressed.
The people who work there really care about the animals. Yes, it does suck that it is first come first served for pets that start at 6:30am, but I cannot think of a better way to adopt pets that is fair for people who want to adopt. We adopted a sweet little rottie mix and we love her so much. She was well taken care of and she came with a little goodie bag that helped us get her home. Thank you Metro Animal Control and we wish you well!
Staff very friendly!!!!! Great experience!
A very good visit. We have always had a large dog family, yet never adopted out of a shelter like this. Donated some food and biscuits at the same time hoping to adopt an animal. Everyone was friendly and encouraged us to look at all of the cats and dogs. No hesitations about letting us walk some and let our dogs meet and greet as well. The adoption process was very easy. We went not knowing what to expect and of course saddened by the fact we can’t help them all ...yet it turned out wonderfully. The staff was part of that success and how well the animals were cared for. Give them a visit and adopt if you can!
Awesome very kind and helpful
I really like this place. Clean, friendly staff, caring people. Would recommend it. Not the most modern facility but I think they do their very best with the available funding.
I have seen a couple reviews on here that I highly agree with. I was preapproved for an animal and was told repeatedly that the animal would go to whomever was first on the property. Understood, however, some of us work for a living and arent able to be there hours before opening. At least one hour is understandable. The animal was given to a young woman whom had apparently spent some time sleeping in the parking lot. Then after walking into the building behind me, the animal was already leashed and waiting for her. The attendant commented to all that she would get the animal since she was first on property. There needs to be a revision to the rules I believe.
Havent been there in awhile. Dont like that their a kill shelter but the people are pretty nice. The kennels seem to be kept clean and the animals seem to be fed well. Great animals that need homes definitely love rescue pets
They care more about a paycheck than the animals theyre so called saving. It hurts to see how much pain theyve caused to families. Including mine. Theyve stolen my dog several times. My dog will break out windows just to get out. I take him out on walks often. It just doesnt wear him out. They say Im a bad dog mom. But Id do anything for my dog. My roommates are the ones that usually mess up. And I have to pay for it. And the officers are very disrespectful
They do not follow their own policies. This organization is very difficult to work with. I hope they get some more emotionally invested people in there. I’ve never heard the expression, “I don’t know,” so many times.
Adopted the best dog of my life here. Wouldnt have ever known him if it wasnt for them. He was thirteen when he came home with me, now fifteen and still going strong!
These people are very duplicitous. They tell some people one thing then make arrangements with others. They truly DO NOT follow their supposed policy of first come first served. It is a shame that the people working there are cheats. Then they wonder why people do not adopt animals that really need homes. People are BASHING the dishonesty, not how they are caring for the animals.
Over the years we have adopted several dogs from Metro. Each one has been a fantastic friend and companion.
As I do understand their First Come First Serve policy I do not agree with it. I vested a week into getting to know the dog I was wanting to take home and made daily calls on her as well. I ensured that I was ready with an approved application and that my home was set to bring home this amazing addition to our family. Upon arrival she was adopted out to the person ahead of me. Like I said I understand their policy but I do not agree with it especially if someone is putting forth the effort on a daily basis to know the pet they are bringing home just to miss out because they cannot sit in the parking lot for hours at a time waiting for the business to open up. I am a single mom I do not have that luxury. I am glad she went to a home and I hope she brings fulfillment in her new families lives I am just sad it wasnt ours.
I would highly reccomend this place! I have gotten 3 rabbits from there and they are just the sweetest Angels! They also take great care of the animals and the whole place is so clean! I love metro.
First of all I think metro has come a very long way within the last few years. I know theyve had a lot of complaints and taken a lot of heat in the past years but today our experience was far from negative.Today my gf and I went up in search of a potential cat. Preferably a big orange cat. We looked at all the possible contenders and didnt really fall in love with any of them. On our way out there was young handsome orange cat. He was very playful and seemed to be the kind of fit we were looking for. The young lady at the front was extremely helpful, answering all our questions and was very personable. We decided to go ahead and adopt this little guy and it turned out his adoption fee had been waved, he had already been neutered, up to date on all his shots and to top it all off they microchipped and registered him!.I can say these people up at metro genuinely and sincerely care about these animals. Go up and take a look around you might just find your new best friend.Dont shop people. ADOPT!
I have their number saved in my phone. Theyre officers are so kind when they are communicating with you over the phone and in person. Theyre obviously animal lovers. I have never had a problem when Ive called during hours. However, when you call after hours or on the weekend, the Casper Police nor Metro will come to your help.
They take care of dogs no one wants... Jeez. If you other people can do better then start a shelter! Bash people who are trying to do good. I was deployed in Iraq and the dog problem there is rediculous. They bite kids, drag them off because they have food. Etc.. spoiled Americans... (Which I fought for your right to be spoiled and ignorant so you dont have to see what the real world is. Why dont you research this stuff before you give someone a negative review or before youve been there?)
I had to go there 2 times to complain about nuisance dogs in my neighborhood before they took action. The first time as I was explaining the issue, the guy behind the counter was jotting my information down on a small Post-it note. There was no way he could possibly get all of the information that I was giving him on that little piece of paper. And for the record, I was only giving him pertinent information, not just rambling on with useless details.I told him I wanted the Animal control officer to contact me first when he/she arrived at the address where I live.Well I never got a call and as far as I know they never followed up.So several weeks later I went back to complain about the nuisance dogs again and I explained my experience with them the first time.Get this.... they had no record of me filing a complaint the first time! Really??Apparently the fellow that was taking my information just tossed that little Post-It note right into the trash or their record keeping is poor at best.Anyway, after I went back the second time.....with the bit of a chip on my shoulder I must admit....and explained the lack of service after my first visit, an animal control officer finally came out to meet me and to talk to the owners of the nuisance dogs. I am now keeping a log of when and how long the dogs bark.I have to admit things have quieted down a bit since the Animal control officer visited with the owners of the undisciplined dogs. But they are still a nuisance and well see what happens once I turn in the log.Apparently the district attorney of Natrona County will get involved and they can be fined if the owners of the dogs dont remedy the situation.Ill keep this review updated.
Dont plan on apopting here it is a terrible place to go
Was so very disappointed! Will never recommend any person who truely wants to adopt a dog to go there! They were very unprofessional and flat out uncaring! There word is not there word. Sad to say! Ive always was so proud of what they do and the help of finding homes for animals. We were wrongly treated and will never give praise to them again. There are many people that truely want to give a home to these homeless animals and can change there life! All I can say... Metro is not the place! I do praise the Humane society!!!
So i was wondering can you volunteer at metro
I bought a two year old shih tzu and took it to the vet. Turns out hes 11 and going blind they dont know anything about animals.
Metro you SUCK I hope you like the unemployment line cause you cant due your job right.
More of a pitbull shelter,
