I had a gift card, so I decided to stop in to see if I could find some drum accessories. While not my go-to place for all things drumming, I will say that Nicholas, the salesperson, was extremely helpful and friendly. Thanks also to the guitar teacher who was playing in the store while I was there. It sounded so nice! Havent played with any bands in quite some time so much appreciated. :)

My son needed a repair on his saxophone to prepare for an online recital at school. We were in a time crunch and having trouble finding a spot for repairs much less one that could help us in a day or two. Dan at Music & Arts was so helpful!!! He helped me troubleshoot the problem over the phone. I followed his advice and the saxophone is now playable! Definitely functional until restrictions are lifted and we can get into a technician. Thinking outside the box during these trying times.

I dropped off a sax over a month ago for a tune up. I was assured that the tuneup would take 2 weeks. However, even after repeated calls and emails, I do not have any information about the instruments whereabouts, repair status, or completion date. When will I get my instrument back???

I’m a former Wake County Schools Music teacher. Came in to continue having music in my life by signing up for guitar lessons. I did a “Meet and Greet” with Richard. He made me SO UNCOMFORTABLE. He told me to shut the door. Then he began literally trashing another teacher I was originally going to take lessons from; Andrew. He called Andrew a know it all and said he doesn’t know what he is doing etc etc. I was visibly uncomfortable and he kept trashing other instructors and telling me why he was the best. It was so unbelievably unprofessional and made me nervous and uncomfortable. As a professional and adult student; there’s is no way I would take lessons from someone who operates on that level.

This store is awesome! Easily the best rental store around. Store staff like Tyler, Kelsey, and Jonathan are always incredibly nice and helpful, and their manager Dan is THE MAN. All around great store and would highly recommend them to any musician beginner or otherwise.

Just wanted to give a shout out to the team at Music and Arts (Cary Crossroads Location) Specifically the manager, Dan, took the time and delivered exceptional service. I was very impressed with the patience and time he spent explaining different options which suited the needs of my sixth grader. I will definitely be back knowing that I will get the best service for my music need in the entire triangle. Thanks again! JC

Decent store to buy supplies for guitar. Not allot of midlevel guitars. High end guitars, they have maybe 2 in stock. I never have a problem with customer service, but then again I dont wait for someone to help me...I go find help If I need it. Its nice to have a local music supply store in Cary,NC. I dont mind driving to Raleigh to Sam Ash or Music Connection...but would rather not if I dont absolutely have to. Guru Guitars, by the State Fair Grounds is another great place to buy supplies.

Instrument renters beware! This store exercises very poor security of your credit card information. They were happy to tell me where and how many unencrypted credit card numbers they have. They do not care about your information at all with such blatant disregard for the way they store it.

**BEWARE PARENTS**NO REFUNDS**When a Music & Arts representative tells you at your childs school that pay the deposit of $20 and they will refund you if your child decide not to go with band anymore especially middle school students; THEY DO NOT REFUND THE MONEY.I gave deposit at Davis Drive Middle school in band tryouts in February 2018 and then my daughter chose dance instead. I have called them and I ask for refund in May 2018. But, guess what? Its almost end of December 2018 and no refund.Schools call them at tryouts and clearly tell that its not their responsibility. There were 500 kids. Parents think that its only $20 so they dont complain but If 100 kids decide not to go for band, its clear $2000 income for Music & Arts. Wake county school district shall stop bringing them to schools so that they can not FOOL the parents and play with their sentiments for their kids interests.

Dan took very good care of my daughter and I. Even so the place was very busy (Student rental season), we were looking for some saxophone accessories. We did have to wait our turn, but there were two employees that were trying to keep up with the rush. Even though it was close to closing hours, and the rush, Dan took his time explaining what we were getting into, and gave us the time to make what turned out to be a very good choice. Ill be back.

I am visiting NC and just wanted to try some horns (trb and tpt) out and grab some music. Daniel let me try some horns out and gave great service. There was a vast selection of horns of different companies that gave a me a fun time and broadened my knowledge of what Im looking to purchase. Overall a fun experience with good staff.

DO NOT TAKE LESSONS HERE! Its a rip-off! Apparently when we signed up there were screens that said you pay for your time slot and even if you call a week ahead to cancel you still pay for the lesson. The person there at the time said just forward through these screens and dont worry about them and had us blindly sign a contract (should have been wiser I know now but I trusted them!) Furthermore, when we called to cancel as we had missed a whole month due to college visits & open houses (all of which were communicated beforehand) they claimed we didnt give two weeks notice and could only get a fraction of our money back! Money hounds... and nothing more! Im not the only one who feels ripped off apparently... should have read the reviews beforehand as well!! :-(

My daughter decided to switch instruments and play clarinet this year. School referred us to Music & Arts and the experience has been great. They offer a rental/purchase option that works wonderfully, since kids (as I have noticed!!) change constantly. Their staff is very efficient and are available to orient you on the best option for your needs. We have been to the store looking for reeds and asking questions about instruments in general and they always take the time to help with any doubts. Now we are looking for a piano, not a change of instrument, but an addition to our daughters interest, and we will certainly consult with this store first.

They have no where near enough staff on the weekends and no plan on how to serve their customers. I was waiting near the counter for over 15 minutes for someone to help me and the guy behind the counter, Brian just passed me by and an asked a customer who had just walked in if he could help them. I cant believe he just ignored me. They need to have a number system like a deli, because they have no idea how to serve people!

I came in hoping to find a music folder (choir type with a hand strap and all). They have them online, but I wanted to test the weight and feel. They didnt have any in store, but of course offered to order one.The staff was very friendly. One even suggested I try the Christian store in the same shopping center. I would have never thought of it, but it makes sense because the whole church choir thing. If I find myself in need of musical instruments, I will certainly return to Music & Arts in Cary.

I hope your identity doesnt get stolen because if it does and you have to wait to get a new bank card to make the payment to music and arts they are going to charge a late fee. The lady I spoke to was very rude. She said if I called before the payment was due maybe they could have done something. (Said with attitude) How could I do that If I didnt know my identity was going to be stolen???? If I didnt already have services signed with them for my sons instrument This year, I would go somewhere else. I definitely miss the Music man in Florida. They were the best. On top of it all I had to call 3 different numbers for someone to discuss this charge with. Disappointed and I feel because they are widely used they dont care about the customers only the money.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. I rent a instrument from them for my child and the first payment that came out of my account (auto draft) was taken out twice, same month, about 10 days apart. I called and they explained they were having issues with a new system. No apologies or anything. Now they have been charging me over the summer for a instrument my child left at school (assuming they would pick up the instrument, just like they dropped them off at the beginning of the year), but nope its in her classroom and thankfully I was able to go pick it up and will be returning it myself. This company is so unorganized and doesnt communicate the terms very well. Be cautious!!!!

I had great service, at point of the sale (..an astonishing Black Friday deal, $170 off guitar/ukelele, staff were knowledgable and friendly), but unexpected series of big financial hits in the next 3 days forced me to return it - Mike D the manager processed everything (and it was complicated, due to lessons I had signed up for), with attention to detail and speedy responsiveness. I wanted to post a review because for me Cary Music & Arts was a great experience, even though it resulted in a return. I will be back when finances are more flush and hopefully snag a similarly good deal. (Was a bit worried because of the past reviews, but my experience was good- Im thinking the auto-pay problems described by others were likely user error - eg credit card expired, changed, etc. ) My credit card was reconciled quickly by Cary Music & Arts.

Worst store ever! Total chaos & youll be lucky if an employee knows what you need. Bought a $50 mouthpiece & a music that was picked out by an employee. That day the credit card machine wasnt working properly & I didnt get a receipt. I said I needed one just in case the employee said Its ok you wont have a problem returning. Well the piece was wrong size & for the wrong instrument( this was for my son we are new & trusted the employees knew what they were doing) & the book was wrong too. I tried to return the mouthpiece (unused) & they wouldnt take it. They offered me store credit so I said ok, Ill do that because I needed to buy 2 new music books anyway then the management said sorry actually I cant give you store credit, we cant help you with out a receipt & no returns after 30days. But if the system wasnt working well how the heckler are u going to find my info! Hello! The kicker the employee that helped me the 1st time who said I didnt need the receipt was standing right there! What a joke of a place! Go somewhere else where they actually can help you & know their stuff.

Customer service in this store is downright rude. My first visit I went in to enquire about student violins and was treated by the older sales associate as if I were a bum asking for a dollar. My second visit a few days ago was to purchase a set of strings and inquire about instrument rentals for one of my children. Again, the same older gentleman was waiting on me and he wouldnt even turn down the jazz he was playing on his phone to be decently civil and wait on me. He chatted with his coworker while he rang me up, all the while listening to his phone. Completely rude if you ask me, and then I had the nerve to ask about the selection of rental instruments! Would you believe he had to leave his precious phone alone for a few minutes while I spoke with him? I MIGHT have rented an instrument that day, but after that performance of poorly executed customer service...why bother? There are plenty of other places to get instruments in North Carolina.

I have been in here twice and have been treated with disrespect each time. The staff has a know it all attitude that is very off putting and one man asked if I was a high school student. Each time I have been I was planning on making a purchase ( new instruments and new class set of method books) but decided against it. If you are a teacher please don’t give them your business, I know my program never will.
