I have run this marathon multiple times and they put on a first class event. You run for over 20 miles on the Tobacco Trail which is a rail trail with gentle inclines. Dont be fooled into thinking this is a flat race! You are either running up or running down almost the whole time. Having said that, I believe it is a great place to run your PR because the weather is great and the cinder trail is very forgiving on your muscles late in a marathon. A very high percentage of runners always qualify for the Boston Marathon from this race as well. You should definitely come run this race and get your BQ!

Great race course beautiful route

This is the most personal full or half marathon I have ever run. The race founders meet you at the finish line to congratulate you! Any issue is taken care of swiftly, and a committee of volunteers works to improve the races year after year.The course is mostly flat and technically simple, and there are lots of water stations and pace groups to offer support. Special recognition is given to Boston Marathon qualifiers. After the race, there is a band and beer garden where many runners get together with friends.

Wonderful race, well organized. My husband and I love it. We return every year fon the D.C. area.

Very deceiving! Lots of false flats in this run!

They check your chip, but they fail to work anyways. They had a station is check your chip, and I got the go ahead. The chip failed anyways.
