(08/31/2021) I want to say Jennifer Bethea at USPS Carrboro, NC, is SO SO SO AWESOME!!! I have been expecting my work permit from USCIS which has been delayed MAJORLY. Finally it got shipped out just as I moved, and USCIS takes more time to update the change of address. So it got shipped to my older address, and I was afraid it will not be forwarded (as the work permit has Return Service Requested written on it), and be returned to USCIS, and then my permit could take up to 2 more months to arrive (I am already waiting for it for a year now). So I asked Jennifer to, if possible, manually stop it from being returned (as USCIS themselves asked me to do that to avoid further delays). I called Jennifer like 50 million times over the last two weeks to update her on every USCIS mailing update, and finally received her call today to tell me she has it and will forward it to my new address. She was SO PATIENT with me, and really REALLY saved the day for me! Thank you Jennifer, you are really an example of someone the public can rely on!UPDATE (09/16/2021) - Once the Priority Mail was sent to me to be delivered in 2 days, the tracking didnt update after 2 days, and it got delayed by more than 2 weeks! When I filed a service request, I got an email that said they were not able to find the mail! And USCIS said, I will have to re-apply!!!! (which would take forever - the last application took more than one year!). I was devastated. My work, my DL, everything depended on it, and I was already unemployed for 5 months due to this delay. I called Jennifer and she was frustrated because she took care for it to reach me. She took it upon herself to find out what happened, and called her contacts, and ever since then, called me every day to update me on whatever she found out. Miraculously, the mail was found (it was stuck due to the hurricane Ida), and I finally got it today!!! Even though the status said Delivered, Jennifer called me to check whether I had it with me.Jennifer Bethea is truly God Sent!!!!! EVERY EMPLOYEE NEEDS TO TAKE INSPIRATION FROM HER LOYALTY AND DEDICATION TO PUBLIC SERVICE!!! If you have any issues, just go to her at this USPS location!

Its always a hassle when you have to interact with ANY of the staff at the Carrboro USPS. Ive been going there for years, new faces, same rotten attitudes. I called yesterday about a package that showed, arrived at their facility 4 days prior. This was a 2-day Priority package. The lady I spoke to, Michelle, was rude and unprofessional over the phone, giving me a, youll get it when you get it answer to my concern. The drop box inside for packages is their most polite, most professional, hardest working employee. Unfortunately, that gets filled up quickly too. If possible, bring your package to a different USPS facility.

I had a package returned to the post office and went to pick it up. I knew it had been few weeks, but was unaware of the 15 day rule for packages sitting until they’re returned to the sender. When I handed the employee the “missed package” slip and told her my address, she shook her lead and loudly proclaimed “Oh no, mm-mm, you get 15 days!!” I was embarrassed and it seemed that her intent was indeed to embarrass me. I calmly asked what I could do, and she told me to contact the sender. I thanked her and walked out, and she laughed as I left. The whole interaction was strange and unprofessional. I really wish this wasn’t my local post office.

Got a confirmation email that my package was delivered and it was not. The confirmation email then said that it was available at the post office AFTER saying that it was delivered to my house. Came to the post office to pick it up and did not get noticed by post office staff for 20 minutes standing at the blue door. I was standing at the desk where the boxes are and the lady started to close the gates WHILE I WAS IN THERE filling out a slip that they needed to find the package. While standing there, a staff member asked me to “move” so that she could close the gate two minutes early. Then the staff working the front made a comment about “nothing is going to get done because Andre isn’t here today.” After waiting 20 minutes for anyone to acknowledge that I was waiting at the blue door, someone finally came and said that the package wasn’t there, that it was still out for delivery; and that it would be delivered by 8:00 tonight. The package was never delivered. I’ve never had such bad customer service and I have DEFINITELY never had anyone ask me to move. Are you serious?UPDATE: just got a notification that a delivery attempt was made but was left at the post office per customer request. THE PEOPLE AT THE POST OFFICE TOLD ME IT WAS OUT FOR DELIVERY AT 4:00 TODAY. there was never an attempt made. We have security cameras at our house. I’m about to lose my mind.

I have always had good service at the Post Office. But here I want to say that the gentleman who delivers my mail could not be more helpful and professional. I am 90 years old and find it difficult to walk up to pick up my mail from the homeowners boxes. He began delivering my mail to my front porch. I never asked. He just noticed my problem. Probably from seeing the cane and walker on the porch and that sometimes my mail box was overly full indicating that it had not been picked up for a while. Dont know his name, but I am eternally grateful to him.Reading these comments from dissatisfied customers brings to mind an old saying: It takes one to know one.

This postal office is clean and neat. It was not busy at all and it was very quiet, which is nice. Hard to rate the service since I am used to the small, really friendly, neighborhood office. That was not the case here. They were not ride in any way, but they seemed tired at 11am. I went in with posted packages, said hello to one clerk, waited, but there was no greeting or acknowledgement that I was even there. I visited the USPS Office on Main St. in Carrboro, NC to follow up on two missing packages that were scanned in as “delivered”.I called and started a case with the National USPS Office 1-800-line the same day the first package was technically “delivered” on 10/26. The National Customer Service representative told me, ‘it’d be 2-3 business days before the local office found it or reported the package missing.’ The phone representative also said, ‘mail carriers are required to record the exact location for all deliveries with pictures and numbers.’I only showed up today on 10/30 because a second package was listed in the system as “delivered” on 10/27 (the day after the first did not make it to my possession). I work from home and did not leave the house during the times either package was listed as “delivered.”When I physically walked into the Main St. USPS Office, I spoke with a representative who works in package claim. They looked up my tracking information and told me that both packages may have been stolen. He then offered me an opportunity to speak with, Andre Barnes, the supervisor on duty. I was given a notepad and advised to write down my tracking numbers and physical address.Andre Barnes returned about an hour later. When he came back, he did not look at me but continued to circle the number portion of my address over and over with his pen. He told me that my “address didn’t exist and that no packages will be sent there in the future.” As a concerned customer and citizen of the United States, I asked him follow up questions that provoked Andre Barnes to repeatedly say, he was “done with this case”.I asked if he could put it writing, he replied “no.” I asked if I could record the conversation, he replied “no.” I asked to have the sheet of paper he circled my address on: he said “no.” He told me he was “done,” that my case was “garbage”. He then balled up the notepad paper up (with my information and record that I even came into the office that day) and walked away. I told him he was, “disgusting” and I left the premises.I still don’t know where my packages are. I am escalating my encounter and missing packages to the North Carolina District Office based on the lack accountability and professionalism. I am also mailing in this report and shared this experience with my leasing office. No stars for this place.

I’m new to the area and had to drop a package off and sadly this was the closet location. When I walked in, I was never greeted by anyone (I ignored it, considering that they were assisting other customers). I walked over to purchase a box, the gentleman literally stared at his laptop and acted like I was invisible so I asked him “if he seen me standing right here,” and he proceeded to say, “I’m not working right now.” As a supervisor, this was not the appropriate way to assist a customer, especially if your visible and have your uniform on (I’m guessing there is no break room). After that, I walk up to the counter and Lou Lou (the lady at the counter), constantly kept rushing me, that I had to let her know, I hear her and she doesn’t have to keep repeating herself. She refused to answer any of my questions, she was more concerned with getting me from the counter. I will be contacting someone of higher power because no customer should ever feel unwanted/ rushed in any public location, especially not a postal service. Need to hire new people before the holidays roll around.

Really shamefully bad service - twice have had confirmed vacation mail holds ignored. Thankfully, neighbors were able to gather our mail. Consistently late deliveries - companies will show that items were delivered and the packages do not arrive for day afterward. Have also received notes of items undeliverable due to gates (LOL, single-family residence on a public non-busy street in a neighborhood) or no one home when someone was absolutely home for the entire day/evening, etc. In-office service is no worse than any other USPS, but thats not saying much as USPS employees are typically (not always, though certainly more often than not) grouchy and rude and make you feel like youre really bothering them and interrupting their day by coming in for whatever business you might have... The worst customer service money can buy. I am trying to track down a package that was transferred to this post office by UPS. I tried to call several times, but the phone is always busy, so I called the general USPS customer service line. After getting the tracking ID, they said that the package was attempted to be delivered and a notice was left. I received no notice. They did say the package was returned to the office and they could redeliver or hold. I asked them to hold it. When I went into the location the first encounter was with a young woman who was SO rude to me. I could not believe it. All I said was, “Im here to pick up a package”. I gave her my ID which she transferred to another person. He could not find the package and said I needed the tracking number. Since all I had was the UPS tracking number, I had to call them to get the USPS number. So, I called them and got the number. Not having anything to write on I grabbed a PO Box application, because it was close and there were like 100 of them. I went back up to the desk, and handed it to the first girl I spoke to who handed it to another man since the first person who couldn’t find it was on break. This guy looked at it like it was a foreign object, then got extremely agitated that I used a precious PO box application to write the information down the information they asked me for. I calmly said, you asked me for this info; I got it and wrote it down on the nearest piece of paper. Is that a problem? He said, No, no problem at all. He then asked me to step to the side and disappeared into the back. Several minutes went by, no one came back out. Finally another person came out and attempted to find my package. No one could find it. They finally said it’s probably out on the truck. I told them I asked and confirmed for them to hold it. At this point my package is lost and no one knows where it is. If I operated like this at my job I wouldn’t have one. It’s a disgrace and they should be ashamed.

My in laws were anticipating to packages to no avail, so when I tracked the packages it indicated that my packages where in transit, at that point its Monday. To make a long story shorter.. Once my in laws received the packages, they were badly dismantled, no dry ice, and there where thirteen items, which only three were salvaged.. Once I spoke to someone I was directed here and there, to go online and to do .... its a mess I am not sure whos at fault but my family deserve a reimbursement for the inconveniences that was caused, and all ( post workers) were uninformed regarding my matter, and eventually I was told by an agent in California, that I should of mentions I had dry ice, because theres a different procedure when it comes to dry ice shippings (Hazmat).. The man I spoke with told me he couldnt check to see if my package was there, couldnt tell me when it might be delivered, couldnt offer me any options. In addition to this problem, which has affected my neighbors as well, the mail delivery person puts mail in the wrong box at least 2 or 3 times a week. So we have to deliver mail ourselves to our neighbors. All this began happening after our mail service in 27516 was transferred to Carrboro from Timberlyne. But now online companies are using this method of sending by Fedex and UPS to the post office for the delivery to save money. This post office needs to get its act together or we need to insist that the companies we order from stop using this method.

We receive many packages pretty regular, an so do our neighbor across the hall who is always calling looking for their stuff. I had been waiting for a package that said delivered Mon. which it was not an since I was home I would def know. They swear he scanned it at our complex an when i tried to explain to them yes I see the younger guy scan them in the truck an then load up his arms to toss them at the doors, maybe it fell back out in the truck. They didnt seem to listen or care. I was then told to call the police, an Im like why they wont physically look for my mail or is it that you want the mailman arrested like cmon the police isnt responsible for peoples mail. I asked for a supervisor was never given one an just given the same bs again. Im like if the guy literally refuses to come all the way up the stairs an throws the package at the door what makes you think he hasnt lost my stuff Ive seen this done to my neighbor stuff and if he wouldve came all the way up he wouldve seen the note on her door telling him to leave the package with me an not at her door bc Im always home during the day. They need to be cleaned out an let people who know what they are doing work instead of the incompetent people now!!!

I got a notification that my package was delivered to a parcel mailbox, when i get home the key wasnt in my box. I called about 2 oclock and i was told that i had to call back at 5 oclock. The women on the phone didnt get my ifo or anything. I had to call the customer service and i didnt get anywhere. they said for me to call back and give them my info and tell them i was waiting. To make a long story short i got 5 different explications of why yhey havent been there. The last time i talked to them was at 7:15 and was told they were about to pull up, i informed them that i was outside waiting and they never showed up. So not only did i not get my package, but the key was left in someone elses mailbox for them to have.

The customer facing staff seem to be rather lazy and incompetent. The postal delivery staff regularly mark packages as delivered when they have not actually been delivered, and within 6 months they managed to lose two of my packages that needed to be delivered literally, actually literally not figuratively, across the street.

I always have problems with the mail carries, when it comes to them delivering packages that need to be signed for. I always find myself frustrated and receiving priority 2 day packages, in 4 days instead.

Pretty hard to get a hold of and a little terse over the phone. Generally it is difficult to have packages delivered of for clear information to be given to customers. The hours are a real challenge for 9-5 workers like myself. I cant come by the post office unless I give up on having a lunch break.

The most incompetent bunch of jerks ever. They came to my place of business and said they had a stack of mail they wouldn’t deliver. I went to the post office; they couldn’t find anything, and didn’t care. POS’s.

Package torn open at the corner, enough to see what was inside. I guess they didnt want this particular video. Ive also received mail mangled in machinery.

Dont get a PO box here. They dont follow USPS guidelines and you may not get your mail. And nobody is accountable.

Not a fan of this post office location, usually do the one on the other side of town as they tend to be friendlier.

Disappointed, package did not arrive when it said it would. I paid extra for the 1 day delivery. Imperative to have package today. Called office 3 times and no one picked up.
