Yeargans was highly recommended to me and I began utilizing their services in June, 2020. I own two older vehicles both of which needed routine repairs as well as deferred maintenance items. They assisted me in prioritizing the work that needed to be done to insure my vehicles were safe to drive. Estimates were always provided for my approval prior to work being done. In addition, repairs were completed in the estimated time frame. Recently, I had both vehicles in repair at the same time, one a scheduled repair and the other an unexpected repair. They took great care of me and completed the repairs on both vehicles within 48 hours! All of the staff have been professional, friendly, and courteous. I highly recommend Yeargans.

Got tired of being sold service at other shops, like front end alignment when that service was performed 3 months previously. Went to Yeargans for 120,000 mile service and was informed (with pictures) of what was to be done and what was not necessary, like changing time belt (vehicle has timing chair) and the cost. They did what they said they would do, cost was what was estimated. Locally owned, friendly, great service with warranty. As it should be

My car was diagnosed and repaired within a few days. The mechanic clearly explained what might be the issue, and kept me updated as it was figured out so that I knew what repairs actually needed to be made. No pressure for other services I didn’t need, and each issue of my car was explained so that I could understand the problem. Very great customer service, they make you feel like they actually want your business. And with how thorough, friendly, and high quality they were, they’ve got mine while I’m in the Triangle Area!!

I had new shocks (front and rear) put on my vehicle at another shop but when I brought it in for an oil change at Yeargans, they told me the front shocks needed replacing. They took photos and everything. I took it back to the original shop and they admitted a former (now fired) employee had indeed charged me for the front shocks but never installed them. They corrected the issue free of charge. I would never have known if it werent for Yeargans thorough and well-documented service. Well done!

I gave this place 2 stars because, they fixed my problem on short notice. I was in Chapel Hill for surgery. I live 4 hours away and noticed I had a bad wheel bearing. I took my van here and they confirmed my problem. I love their software and text updates. I hate their charges! They buy their parts from Advance auto parts and upcharge all the parts! A 74.00 rotor cost me 120.00. 2 -13.00 bearings cost me 39.00 each. A 7.00 seal cost me 29.00 and they have the highest shop/environment fee Ive ever seen! 49.95! I ask for what and they said oil disposal fee and brake cleaner! Brake cleaner is 2.00 per can and i didnt get an oil change! This place is robbing people and making them like it! They also charged 3 hours labor on a 30 min job! I wouldve fixed it myself but I just had abdominal surgery so they definitely seen a chance to charge whatever! Shame on yall!!!! The good part is: they gave me a loaner car for 3 hours so I didnt have to wait in heat and they got it fixed same day....thats why I gave 2 stars! Ill recommend Chapel Hill tire from now on!

They went above and beyond to help me when my gear shift cables fell out and went as far to help me not only diagnose the problem but also let help get the car off the lot so I could do the repair myself. I would give me more stars if only possible.

I recently had my car inspected and oil changed. The technician found that I needed brake fluid and sent me a text asking if I wanted that additional service. I have been with this service group since 2015 and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality workmanship and professional service.

Brian and Tom were helpful, friendly, and professional when I found myself in the unfortunate situation of having my catalytic converter stolen off my Prius 4 hrs from home. They worked quickly to help me get my car back on the road and even provided a loaner car. They offer a warranty on the parts and work which gave me peace of mind as an out of towner.

How are you going to call yourself a top notch auto shop when I ask how much you would charge for exactly what i need done. I dont need you to look at my car. I dont need you to scan my car. Just need you to replace a sensor. Several other auto shops have no issue giving a price for a specific service.

I did my own timing set on a 12 Navigator which was a horrible task and I regret it. I managed to break the oil dipstick tube off during the repair. After I got the timing set done and put back together, I just didnt have it in me to do the dipstick tube as you typically have to drop the oil pan, suspension bits, crossmembers, yuck. I took it to Yeargans with the hope that they could yank the broken bit out from the top and do a quicker version of the repair than I could. Sadly, as they attempted to extract the broken part (remember, I broke it, not them), it broke even more! They called me to inform me that the easy version of the repair wasnt going to happen and offered to glue the broken part shut as a temporary measure. I took them up and prepared to pay them their hourly rate because I didnt expect them to work for free. However, they refused to charge me for the repair despite putting in probably two to three hours of labor.I have NEVER been to a shop that will just eat a loss like that; it demonstrates to me that they value the relationship with their customers and are unwilling to throw it away for $200. While I did choose to eventually drop my own oil pan (gah, wasnt fun) and perform the repair myself, I am impressed that they were willing to take the high road on the charge.This is a quality shop and while I didnt necessarily use their services this time, if I need to have to have work done that I cannot do myself, I will most certainly be back.

I always get a very clear explanation of what they find when they look at my car, and an accurate estimate of the cost to repair it. Plus, they are always friendly and upbeat, which I appreciate.

I always get quality service at Yeargans, but they go the extra mile. I had the suspension on a minivan serviced. It had a plastic bumper that had been dented at the corner, but I hadnt asked them to do anything about that. Nonetheless, seeing that he had access to the back of the bumper, one of their technicians did me the favor of pushing it back into shape. They didnt even mention doing it. It took little time, but it was very thoughtful.

I trust Yeargans. They have been persistent in tracking down tricky situations, and have taken care of all of our cars. My cars, a 2016 Subaru BRZ and a 2004 Toyota Celica are my babies. Visiting Chapel Hill from Chicago area. My Subaru Impreza was running fine, but I was hearing an intermittent scraping noise under my engine on the passenger side. Asked my son if he knew a local mechanic that we could ask to look at our car. He recommended Yeargans. Told us they were great in every way. I had the car there when they opened, the next day. I was not expecting them to drop everything and check my car. I was just hoping they could maybe squeeze me in that day. The staff at Yeargans was able to take it for a short ride to hear the scraping noise. They then put the car on their lift and replaced a failed/broken clamp on a heat shield and sent me on my way. I was so impressed with the service that I received. I am so glad that my son pointed me to their shop. Such a great experience and I am very thankful for their service.

When we started we were out of full-time work, living on a very small income from various part-time jobs and they were always willing to help us prioritize the work to our income, without ever making us feel bad about our situation. I went to this establishment to have my car inspected based on Google reviews and was not disappointed. I dropped my car off after calling to establish a good day to stop in. Bryan and his employees were extremely polite, cheerful, and appear to run a good natured small business. Even during a busy afternoon, it was clear they were putting their customers first. My vehicle was inspected in an efficient manner and ready for me when I came to pick it up.

Great service at a great price. I came in prepared to spend several hundreds of dollars on a minor issue. Bryan took a look and told me I didnt the work. I tried to pay him for his time, but he wasnt having it. Dont waste your time anywhere else. As long as I live in the triangle region, this is where Im taking my car. Period.

Brian was upfront about everything and professional, and never tried to upsell more repairs for our aging vehicles. I always do a little research so I am informed about what is going on, and hes always been accurate with a price that is fair. They will go the extra mile if necessary to make sure your work is satisfactory. Will use Yeargans for all repair work and routine maintenance and recommend them to anyone.

A friend brought his 2010 Chevy Impala about 10 days ago to have the transmission checked. He was told that the transmission had to be replaced (and was given an estimate of about $3600). He then had another mechanic look at it, and this person found that the transmission fluid was filthy and the filter totally clogged. He replaced both and the car has now been running fine for 2 days, or so the owner says (I have no reason to disbelieve him), and at a cost of a little over $200. It would seem that Yeargins was being dishonest and taking advantage of this man, and that it is not a trustworthy business.

I dropped my van off Thur 11/15/18 at 5:00 PM to have the hot/cold air blender and blower motor assessed. I received a call Fri 11/16 at about 3:30 PM telling me the vacuum lines in the dash were bad and had been replaced. He said the air blender was now working but still wasnt functioning properly because the dash control unit for the air blender was bad and needed to be replaced, as well as blower motor and circuitboard too.The owner told me it would be almost $800, and the work would be finished Mon afternoon. I gave the Ok to proceed.Monday afternoon at 4:10 PM I called the shop to check in my van. It went to VM and I left a message asking for someone to call me about my van. At 4:45 PM. I called again, and got VM, so I left another message asking for someone to call me before the shop closed at 5:00. I needed to pay for the work and get my van. I called again at 5:15 PM and got VM again. I didnt leave a message that time.Tuesday morning I called at 6:15 AM and asked that someone contact me when the shop opened so I could come get my van. At 8:35 AM I called again, and this time the owner answered.I asked what the situation was with my van. The owner told me that everything was done but hed ordered the wrong circuitboard because he didnt know my van does not have an AC installed, at all.I told him I had three questions:1- Did the person troubleshooting my air blender not see there wasnt an AC button anywhere on my dash? Didnt he or she notice there are no AC controls at all inside the van while he or she was fiddling with the buttons on the dash trying to get the blender to function?2- Why hadnt anyone returned my calls about my van? It was supposed to be ready Monday afternoon and here it was Tues morning and I was having to call the shop to get info from them.3- When would the new circuitboard be inhand and installed?The owner suddenly became offended because I was questioning their competency because I asked if no one had noticed the AC thing. He told me they hadnt been working on my AC so they hadnt payed it any attention. My reply was, But someone had to be looking right at the dash as they tried to get the air temp to cycle from hot to cold.He told me that they hadnt called me because, and I quote, Ive been covered up like chicken $hit. I havent had time to call you.The owner then berated me for questioning the competency of his staff and told me to, and again I quote, Come get your van and get it off my damn property!, and then he hung up on me.Twenty-five mins later I was at his shop to get my van. It was completely together. As if its never been apart.As it turns out nothing had been done to it. Nothing, at all. The dash control had not been replaced. The blower fan had not been replaced. The air blender issue was no different that it was when I left it with Yeargans Thursday evening. I took my van and left the property.Later that afternoon my wife stopped by to pay for any work theyd done and parts theyd used. I did not want to be indebted to the shop. The owner told her we didnt owe him anything because theyd only diagnosed the van. For the life of me I doubt even that much happened.Id already lost two and a half days of work because of Yeargans. I believe I narrowly avoided being scammed out of $800 on top of that.Yeargans was recommended to me by the folks who work on my other car. They know about this event now, as well.

As a non-native Chapelboro-ite, Ive always been a bit wary of bringing my car anywhere. Thus, it was a relief to find Yeargens Top Notch Automotive. Briefly, I first tried Yeargans after a recommendation by staff at Advance Auto Parts when I needed a battery replaced. Everything was fine, the staff was nice, and things were done quickly. Then I started bringing my cars there for oil changes and yearly inspections. Again, the work was done quickly. Mr. Yeargan also suggested waiting on a few things that I wanted done, but he thought werent yet necessary. Indeed, cautious advice and problem-solving is a hallmark of my experience at this shop. For example, we have had a lot of problems with our moon roof; the shade malfunctioned and the car was unbearably hot. Instead of suggesting a >$1,000 repair, he suggested that we get the window tinted, a service he does not perform. $250 later, the tinting keeps us nice and cool. Another example is Mr. Yeargans dedication to finding a pesky water leak in our moon roof. In the end, having someone reliable and honest who can service my familys cars is a life-saver. I cannot say enough nice things about this shop or its employees. Please dont retire, Mr. Yeargan!!!

I am a woman car owner, and am always worried about taking my car to repair shops. I have been going to Yeargans now for a number of years and I always feel that they have been extremely upfront regarding the repair necessary. One of the times I took a problem to them, I didnt know what the problem was, the repair was minor, and cost $35. They have always been very reasonable.Yesterday, (I now own a Prius), a number of warning lights flashed up on the dash. I wasnt sure what was wrong. They ran the diagnostic, told me the part that had failed was under a recall and that a Toyota dealership would probably be able to fix the part for free.They are straightforward and thoughtful and nearby, (downtown Carborro-on the J bus route). They dont have a fancy service area, but then again, they dont charge you to maintain a fancy service area.

Nothing but terrific experiences from Yeargans. They always treat us fairly and do speedy, terrific work.
