Great experience, very informative staff and willing to help answer lots of questions. I toured a few apartments in the area and this one had the best staff.
Good place to live and close to nearby services.
My dad lived here a long time ago and so he recommended this ad one of the best apartment complexes in Carrboro (to him). I am looking to move back to my hometown and so this was my first option, when I went to check and fill out an application the lady showed no interest. She was African-American long hair I think it was braided. She wasn’t very pleasant and didn’t even offer to show me around. I took the application but if they treated me like this today what do I expect? I go by first impressions and she did not seem like she wanted me there.
Well-maintained, large apartment community located close to shopping, bus routes, and local parks. Nice pool/outdoor patio area for residents.
Zero stars. Don’t even bother. The Worst.
Great location and superior service.
Moving into these apartments has been a headache. Becarful they end up charging you more than what they tell you when you sign the lease. Also apartments are not what you expect a lot of water bugs inside the apartments.Management are very rude not able to help you at all specially Natania. When I rented this apartment last year it was Franklin who was very nice & helpful.
This appears to be a nice place. But management needs to do a better job of consistent exterminating of pests. The ROACHES OMG!!! Please get rid of these outbreaks of hidden pests that appear from darkness to scatter when the lights come on. EW!!
I dont the current office worker, I dont know her name. She is very mean to the residents and unresponsive. We want the previou office worker Franklin, an African American man who was very nice and cared for residents.
I have great neighbors. Very friendly and the maintenance workers are very responsive to any issues.
The management still changes every 2 months a see. Lol yall do no do not do.not rent from there. I speng a year here and I had an issue in my apartment every month. One of the main issues was the ac unit and thermostat. They didnt fix it and didnt fix it until the week before me moving out. Definitely a horrible experience. Please do not waste your time trying take the reviews for what they are our life experiences. Reading half of the reviews i knew exactly what they meant bc i went through half of it myself. Yall please dont go through the trouble. Horrible experience!
Lived here for a year and this place is nasty with roaches everywhere! Had to call the office every month BC my water bill will be $200-300 dollars!!
The worst experience anyone can have, very rude and irresponsible manager, everything here is sucks i wish i can break my lease very soon
The apartment community feels safe. The people in the office are helpful. Some of the apartments have been renovated and others not, so individual apartments vary a lot.
Ask them if they accept Section 8 (THEY DONT). Instead of answering they bombard you with email ads. When you repeat the question they say no and continue to bombard you with email ads, as if anyone with a voucher would ever relinquish it because of an ad.
I cant say enough good things about Berkshire 54. I lived there for one year and the new company that took over has transformed the apartment complex into a community! We have taco Tuesday and Wine down Wednesdays (my favorite) where you can have free food and interact with other guests. They even provide free coffee and donuts some mornings. Its a nice thing to have when youre on the go and dont want to cook. They even have new updated gym and built a grill station by the pool. The staff are all great, anything you need fixed and they will respond right away. Bus stop right outside apartment and grocery store/shopping center right behind complex. I just moved into my house and they even honored the commitment of the previous staff who stated I wouldnt have to pay a termination fee. The manager and staff have always been accommodating, friendly and take care of business. I wish I didnt have to leave, I felt taken care of. If I had to live in an apartment again, Berkshire 54 is where Id live! :)
Absolutely love it here. Tamra is the best and will selflessly go out of her way to take care of any issues that arise. Highly recommend living here. Great price for everything that comes with it.
They where super nice when I was going to sign a lease but when I back out try to get my deposit back due to me not signing that day found something bigger and a little cheaper NOW giving me the run around well we have to wait 30 days and it will be mail to you I did not mail you my deposit swipe my card money came out asap now you got to mail me back my money I could not rate the property because I never stay there but I will say they are very small nice pool 👍🏾but that property manager 👎🏾
Management staff is non-responsive to any communication. My daughter and her fiancé have repeatedly tried to get things handled with moving out and have gotten no response to email or phone calls or going in. They also got no response when filing complaints for noise from neighbors. Do not recommend and happy they will be out of there soon.
Completely non-responsive. Called 3 different phone numbers each more than once that we found on google maps, their website, and Zillow, left several messages, sent several emails and messaged them through Zillow. Its been over a week and nothing. They either arent interested in leasing their units, or theyre full and lack the common decency to reply.
Anyone interested moving after April 2020, should not as you see the recent reviews of bad communication and residents services when needed. They attact ppl by providing good service for few months, then when you are stuck comes the issue. During this crazy pandemic, been asked to pay more (for something that shouldve occurred months ago) and services requests are delayed and easily forgotten. DO NOT MOVE HERE, I SAY IT HONOSTLY FOR YOU OWN GOOD BECAUSE I WISH I DID NOT!!!!!!
I’m disappointed at Berkshire 54 that I felt the need to update my Google review for this apartment complex. I don’t know if Franklin left or not, but if he did the management has lost their minds. They do not send emails/notifications in a timely manner, and when I’ve tried to follow up on an issue, I either don’t get a response and have to call three additional times before the issue is resolved, OR I still call three times and say the same thing each time until it finally is resolved. For example: It’s quite frustrating not being able to pay your bill online because management needs to fix their mistake. Then finally whenever you are able to pay the bill, there is a late fee associated with it that they didn’t takeoff whenever they said they would (because it’s not my fault I’m paying late) and on the website theres not a place to pay a certain amount, so you then have to wait until the next day to make sure not only is the bill updated but the associated fees are also waived. It’s just something I shouldn’t have to do as a renter. I shouldn’t have to quadruple check the management staff every single time there is an issue. I also don’t think that they have notes associated with each tenant because I will literally have to explain myself in detail every single time I talk to someone new.Everything in the old review still holds. Berkshire, rehire Franklin or get a staff of Franklins and don’t let them go.Old review:I truly have loved living at Berkshire 54 for this past year. We live in a 2-bedroom Cranwell and it is pretty spacious for the price. Not too much storage room, but we make it work. The staff is extremely helpful (espeically Franklin!!! He is the best leasing consultant I have ever spoken with)Any maintence issue is handled quickly. Even during the pandemic, there was an issue with bugs (literally any apartment complex will deal with this, but how the office responds is what resonates with me) and they sent pest control in a timely manner. The area around our apartment is well-kept. Someone (who is also extremely friendly) walks around almost every morning picking up trash. The lawns are maintained. I love the screened in patio. Aside from the lack of storage space (i.e. a coat closet - there is a linen closet and a lot of cabinet space in the kitchen, and decent sized bedroom closets), the AC is loud when its on, but nothing unbearable. I really have enjoyed living here and we actually just signed a renewal for our lease!
Ive lived here for 6 months with my wife, and were much happier here than at our previous apartment. Our apartment (which is non-renovated) has exceeded our expectations. Most importantly, the staff is very helpful and kind.
Berkshire 54 is a great place to live. The apartments are gorgeous. The pool is wonderful and always clean. And the newly added fire pit is a great place to spend an evening with family and friends. Any issues are addressed immediately by a wonderful office staff.
In general, Berkshire Manor has been a good place to live. Rent is reasonably priced and the complex is located near a number of bus lines that go to campus. Maintenance is wonderful and always fixes things quickly. However, my apartment has had ongoing bug problems which is why I would give a 5 star rating.
Honestly my experience here has been nothing other that awesome. My 2 bedroom upgraded apartment home has exceeded my living expectations. The staff and maintenance are also very welcoming, friendly and get things taken care of.I highly recommend living here! Best apartment I have lived in.
Ive lived at Berkshire54 for two years now and couldnt be happier. My apartment has a lovely view of a grassy lawn and trees. The screened in porch is wonderful for morning coffee and listening to the birds. My cats love lounging outside when its warm. One of the best parts of living here is the wonderful maintenance staff. David and Sherry are friendly and so prompt with requests no matter how busy they are. Parking is easy and the complex is quiet and safe, in walking distance of shopping and restaurants.
I have lived here for 2 years. Pros: quiet neighborhood, right on bus line, reasonable rent, responsive staff (particularly maintenance). Cons: I wish they would really fix the fitness center with equipment that works rather than paint and add a bottle filler and call it renovated. Some of the new renovations werent what I consider improvements-low flow fixtures, removing the only shelf in the bathroom to add a tiny medicine cabinet, etc. but overall its a nice place to live.
Overall a fine place to live! The rent is affordable, the leasing office is friendly and helpful, and the maintenance team is great! We’ve had some ongoing insect issues that prevent me from giving 5 stars.
I have not lived in Berkshire 54 that long, however I can already tell that i am going to love it here. The staff and management are super friendly and accommodating, and the apartments are very well kept. I live in a non-renovated unit, but it still looks very up to date. The pool and gym are very big bonuses to the already wonderful location and lot. It being pet friendly is also a plus, and the parking is plentiful. I couldnt recommend living here more.
Gorgeous property with so much green space to run around and play in. I love the playground area and the resort style pool. Office knows me by name and are always so sweet. Maintenance takes care of any issues Ive had, which havent been many at all! I would recommend this complex to anyone.
I visited this complex today and loved everything about it. It appears to be quiet, beautiful, and affordable, especially considering the great amenities offered. Laura was extremely pleasant and went out of her way to help me. I left to look at other apartment complexes but then decided I didnt even want to look any further. I would like to thank both of the wonderful ladies in the leasing office for their courteous assistance.
Recently, we had a power outage in our community on, what had to be, one of the hottest days of this summer. We reported it to the office staff and they immediately jumped on it. A staff member called Piedmont and explain how dire the situation was and demanded that it be corrected. In 15 - 20 minutes the electricity was back on and all was right with the world again. While most of the time you only see property management when you’re paying your rent, it was truly outstanding to see them stand up for us, the residents.
If you want your apartment to smell like weed and not be able to sleep seven days a week, like to hear arguments between roommate/husband/wife/lovers in the middle of the night this is a place for you to live :) Dont worry if anyone tries to put complaints on you. Nothing will get done ! You get what you pay for :)
Updating to respond to management comment:I called and emailed this complex several months ago, soon after new management took over it looks like. I do not live at this complex, but was reaching out to several properties about their pet policies. I spoke on the phone with Tom, assuming it would be a quick conversation. I had already looked at the website and found nothing, but even if I hadnt it shouldnt have been a big issue to make a phone call.I called and asked about their policies regarding pets. Tom gave me no information whatsoever and acted as if I had called him at home on a Saturday night and not calling to ask about a basic policy during working hours. He was apathetic at first and condescending and accusatory by the end of our conversation. I repeatedly told him I just wanted to know their policies about pets, especially because they have a few small dog parks. He refused to give me any information, saying this was not something that apartment complexes usually share with non-residents. I was taken aback at his attitude and answer, having received information easily from other complexes. He went on about breed restrictions and grilled me about what type of dog I had. He basically said they decide from circumstance to circumstance what is appropriate, which is an alarming precedence for how to run a community. Though he couldnt answer my simple question he wanted to know where I was looking to live, what other complexes was I looking at, and what type of pets I had, and why I wouldnt share any this information from him. Basically, what was I hiding? The most ridiculous part of all of this is I never mentioned actually having a pet (at the time I was still looking to adopt a dog).I did email the address they give out to follow up when people post bad reviews, but never received a response. All I have to say is if this is how they treat prospective residents, I cant imagine how they treat current residents. From the looks of reviews, like trash.
Not gonna lie, I really love this property. The staff is awesome. I was looking for an apartment last month and they really made me feel super comfortable and relaxed about moving, the process was smooth and easy. They are working very heard. I looked up their management company and if I were the CEO of JMG Realty, Id give this place a reward for being hard and dedicated workers. Go live here if youre looking for a place in the Triangle.
Numerous calls and emails have not been answered when trying to lease a unit. If they wont talk to you when you are trying to lease from them, I cannot imagine the kind of response you would receive with any maintenance issues.
I have been living in Berkshire 54 for over a year. I am loving it. The personnel is friendly and attentive and the location is great, close to my job, restaurants, stores, and on a free busline, the CW, among others. Highly recommended. Oh, did I mention free cable? Great!!!
I am really enjoying my residency at Berkshire. It was rocking during the change in management but the personnel was very accommodating. Friendly staff, timely maintenance and great location has made my move to North Carolina very pleasing.
Great experience after these apartments were taken over by new management. Previous management was condescending, not helpful, and they lost my rent (luckily I had proof of payment). Since being under new management, I have been very pleased. The updates they completed are nice. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Pool area is great. I do wish the fitness center was a little nicer, but overall great experience.
I enjoy living here, I have been here for about three years and i plan on being here longer. There is internet, cable and washer and dryer in unit which is perfect. If there is ever an issue they get it fixed as fast as possible usually by the next day.
My daughter says she loves the house.
Clean apartments in good shape, for a reasonable price, in a safe, quiet location. The pool and grilling area is great, as is the dog park. Staff is very responsive and helpful, and the complex is a nice mix of families, graduate students, and young professionals. Is on the bus line, close to grocery store, banking, and gas, and the proximity to 54 puts you at 5 minutes from downtown Carrboro, 10 from downtown Chapel Hill, and 20-30 from downtown Durham. Would recommend for anyone looking for a great location for a reasonable price.
Apartment basically falling apart 2 years in and its NEVER quiet.Oven wont closeToilet takes forever and a day to refillMold/mildew near the cheap showerThe Mexican restaurant blasts music til 3am Friday and SaturdayThe pool will barely be open to use if you workComplex also had lawn maintenance every week day at 8am sharpThe windows are from the 80s and you can hear and feel the draft in the winter. The ceiling paint is falling offCops are here almost weekly. The blinds fell apart on day 1Orkin comes regularly but theres still roach problemsYou wont know your water bill and will Just be told to save it for when they find out.All of these issues were communicated to the property manager months ago. Maintenance acknowledges that the apartments are made of the cheapest material available.Constant updating creates nuisance level of visits from staff and noise from the contractors.Had a visit from maintenance to see what needed done in every apartment. Not one thing has been done for existing tenants.More than likely to justify rent hiking every year.If you want to move before your lease is over its 60 days written notice and then 2 months rent after you move out.I can bet Ill still be hold liable when i move out at the end of my lease. The staff are friendlyMaintenance staff are niceUnfortunately, the niceness of the maintenance and front desk people doesnt make up for the constant noise and poor quality of the apartment itself.
I love the friendly staff. The property and the apartments are beautiful. The amenities are a perk and are fabulous. I recommend it for anyone who like to spoil themselves.
Tamara is not a responsible manager along with the rest of the management. Look elsewhere, there are better places because good management adds to experience
We lived here fo two years. Enjoyed the use of the pool, business center, and dog park. We enjoyed the use of the grounds. The residents are friendly and pets are well accepted. We did like living here and were sad to leave. We might have stayed if they didnt keep raising the rent for current tenants. However, the apartment has cheap fixtures and they were falling apart after 2 years. The windows are very old and drafty which translates into a high electric bill. Bugs became a problem the second year as well. I was told by the new management that the old management had stopped the pest control for about 3 months which why the bugs got so bad. While the shopping center is convenient, the loud music from the restaurant will go in to the wee hours of the morning.Cant really comment too much on the office staff since there has been so much turn over the last 6 months. Maintenance quickly addressed our concerns. We greatly appreciated Davids help in particular.
Very nice, spacious, affordable and close to shopping centers and easy access too. Highly recommend.
Since the new management company came theyve done a lot of nice things to the apartments. Yay for new toilets! The community is pretty quiet and clean. I will say the one side of the complex where the office is located seems to be more if a priority than across the way as far as the pool and gym maintenance but I guess its because there are more people on the office side. Overall good place to live. 👍👍
Last year our service from Berkshire Manor West was great, however after it was purchased and turned to Berkshire 54 the service took a huge downturn. Voicemails are never replied to, have often been told Ill get a call back when I catch someone live, yet no calls get returned. I had an outstanding maintenance request for over a month, we would have received no updates if I wasnt calling on a daily basis. The payment portal was down for roughly 4 months when the 54 took over, now that its back theres a $30 service fee to pay online. Everyone Ive spoken to has been nice, but there seems to be serious organizational issues.
The office staff and maintenance work together very well to ensure all problems are taken care of in a timely and appropriate manner. Its unusual to see landlords who take such time to ensure that all tenants are happy. Great place.
They have great customer service. Real friendly people. Also the most amazing resort style pool. Sort of give you that Paradise feeling. Love it. And they also building a fire pit. Its going to be awesome. Movie nights, fire pit in the fall and winter. Go be awesome. They never stop trying to please there residents . 10 star from me. Derrick Dula
I just recently moved in and the leasing staff was amazing! They were very well informed and super sweet. We have a few move in maintenance requests that we put in Thursday morning and by Thursday afternoon it was all fixed. Dave was a magician! He obviously was able to fix all of our requests because he had the tools at hand. He was courteous and respectful and actually fixed things we didnt put on the work order. (Or even know about!) I have to say the next year is looking very promising! Thank you again Staff of Berkshire Manor West! Love you!!!!
I have lived here for a few years. The staff are very friendly and caring about their residents. If you have a problem at your apartment it will be fixed the same day or the next day. You can talk to them about something and they can help you or advice you. You can plant a small flower bed or vegetable garden at your apartment. They always have something going on for tenants and events for the children as well. The grounds and pool are well maintained along with the business center and fitness center. Now with the new BBQ and picnic areas is like relaxing in a new part of your home.
At beginning 0f summer AC wasnt working. Called office, filled out work order request. That day Sherry, came out and fixed it. She stayed till it was completed. Thats what I call great service !!
Ive been thoroughly disappointed with Berkshire 54. From steadily rising rental rates, deals guaranteed in our lease that suddenly disappear, to seriously poor loyalty to long time tenants. So much of your experience depends on what side of the street youre on. If youre on the side with the leasing office, youll be getting new improvements every year. The other side of the street, where I presently live, is treated like a second child, given nothing but hand-me-downs. Ive been able to use the pool maybe once this past year.I will say, as a positive, the maintenance staff are amazing. Fast response time, friendly, and resolve the problems in a profession manner.
The apartment is generally okay, well priced, ample space. Beware apartments with draft windows. Youll need something to supplement your central heating since despite the heater running effectively in the living and dining rooms, the bedrooms are ice boxes. Space heater, plastic over window, or simply vetting the apartment before purchase may be wise.
Im a new tenant at Berkshire Manor West and I really want to acknowledge the professional skills of the leasing office staff, in particular of Laura and Tiffany. They helped me with courtesy and they made me feel at home from the very first moment! Plus they offered me a very good deal, and their prompt response to my necessities made the difference and drove me in my choice to live in this place.
Great place to live! Quiet and clean surroundings. Office staff are friendly and helpful. Repairs and maintenance are competed regularly.
I love the new improvements to the apartment complex. The new sink faucets in kitchen is nice. The bathroom upgrades are awesome.
Excellent apartment complex! Maintenance is always quick, often next day, and very friendly, while the staff in the front office are helpful, having printed out documents for me multiple times when the business center computers were offline. The complex is right next to Carrboro Plaza, which makes getting groceries easy, and right down the road from a great dog park. Buses stop at the entrances to the complex so getting to UNC is easy. Crime has never been an issue for me here, so I felt comfortable renewing for a fourth year this summer.
Randomly towed my vehicle from my parking spot even though they could have just knocked on my door. Thanks for that, the kids are super thrilled.
Do not apply! They could simply decline your application for no valid reasons. No matter how you try to contact them, nobody would answer you. You could never get your $200 application fee back.
I wrote a review in Oct 2018 but I do have another thing to add:For the past 2 years, the rent included cable and internet. The new management decided not to continue with that. So in December, we will have to pay for internet and cable separately. This means that they are indirectly increasing the rent once again. They already increased the rent when they first took over management. That is not the main point though. There is a community wall where everyone is supposed to share concerns, suggestions, or questions. When I used that wall to share my concern, no one from the office replied. Instead, they deleted my comment. This does not surprise me as it goes along with their poor communication skills that I have mentioned in the previous post.Previous post:My experience living here has been very bad especially with the new management. Staff are disrespectful. You have to ask for what you need multiple times. They never follow up on things as promised. I have major concerns about safety since we had more than one events were police had to come into the complex. I dont feel safe walking my dog out when its getting dark anymore. I also have major concerns regarding honesty and transparency of the the leasing group. I found an unauthorized transaction posted on my bank account from them. Though the amount wasnt big, it is scary to know they can do that. When I talked to the leasing office about it, their quick answer was its not us! I had to talk to the fraud department at my bank to dispute the transaction. These are just few examples. In summary, I do not recommend this place and will definitely not renew my lease here.
The staff was super helpful, and i went when they had a event in the office. I cant wait to move-in!
Ive been living here for a year now and so far my experiences have been great! Quick maintenance services, nice swimming pools, new and quiet apartments and what I love the most is the convenient location to groceries stores, restaurants and bus stops.
I was looking for a affordable yet nice place near chapel hill/carrboro and saw a sign . called spoke to Tiffany and had a tour, i loved it and Tiffany did all she could to make sure i got everything i needed....I am now planning on moving in On August 31st, Thanks Tiffany, you made this happen !!!
Berkshire 54 is a very well priced, high quality apartment complex. I highly recommend that anyone looking for housing in Carborro or Chapel Hill consider Berkshire.
(1) You cant get better leasing office staffs than Kendra, Kellie and Katy.(2) The apartments there have excellent price-to-value ratio. I was actually working in Morrisville when living at the apartment at BMW.(3) The neighborhood was also always quiet.Highly recommended!
Living at Berkshire 54 is really enjoyable and everything about it is scenic! With the palm trees, pool, and other luxuries, its always a pleasure to be back!
5 years at Berkshire. All I can say......fudging awesome!!!!! Locale is great, the staff is awesome and maintenance is SPOT ON!!!!! We moved into Berkshire without seeing the place. Upon seeing it, price to space and amenities; fudging awesome! Internet and cable included in the price!!!! I moved up here from Miami FL; the amenities at Berkshire are insane! Pool area is to die for.....BBQ areas are awesome.....everyone in the complex is chilled and relaxed. Me and my girl moved out only due to space issues. 900sqft vs 2000sqft. I would recommend Berkshire TO ANYONE!!!!!!!!
I have been living here for roughly three years, I believe. I would gladly give a higher rating, but... unfortunately... I cant. We were told wed have access to a business center, fitness center, and pool.... so far we have neither on our side of the highway. However, on the other side of the road the other complexes which are a part of this community DO have a business center, fitness center and pool. The pool on our side was closed earlier in the summer because they failed the inspection. Then we had our pool for approximately a month before it was closed again because it fell apart. This is not based on hear say because I was there when the bricks fell off. Luckily nobody was hurt but it was still scary. Our fitness center smells horrible all the time. I believe its because its such a small space, not sure. The business center for us is one computer sitting inside the fitness center. Also, the computer has no internet connection. No working printer either. So what do they want us to do on it? Play in the paint program? We pay just as much as the other side but in order to use anything...we must go across the street and use theirs. The business center over there isnt much better because that printer wasnt working either. There was also no internet when I went there, twice. Fitness center across the street is nice. The pool is always nice there but lots of people are usually using it.The only plus side Ive experienced is that the staff are very understanding and help the best they can. Maintenance is top notch! Theyve always (and I mean ALWAYS) fixed whatever I need fixed in a timely manner and are very nice to me. Grounds are usually cleaned daily in case trash or anything is left behind. Overall its a nice place to live. If the issues were fixed then Id stay here a while longer.
I wouldve loved to live here, but unfortunately I was stood up for an apartment tour. After being stood up, I called (left a voicemail) and my phone call was never returned. After e-mailing me non-stop and offering all of these awesome deals, they just went silent. So. Rude.Im, assuming, if this is the kind of atmosphere theyre creating then I dont want to live there anyway. And I doubt you will either.
The best part of living at Berkshire 54 is the lovely staff in the main office. Kind, warm, and helpful.
Great place to live great management team if your looking to move this is a good place to call home
Excellent community...staff works hard to ensure the satisfaction of their residents...family friendly&safe!
Wow, picture is not what this place looks like! Complete opposite of picture, its what they wish it looked like!!! 😬
Beyond irritated with the staff who is inconsistent and also disrespectful. Jamie who originally helped me is never there and I was switched to Valerie in which I had to exchange a few words with because the way she talked to me was unprofessional. Do not book your apartment online. They do not honor the pricing and it will be totally different amd HIGHER once you arrive at location. They were having issues with their website. They mark renovated units as available that arent even ready. And the units that are ready arent listed. They make you pay for their mistakes. Online pricing was not honored. Phase 2 looks ghetto and trashy. Phase 1 by office is a better side but junky tenants make the place look horrible. Aparetment rooms are small... Go elsewhere... My experience was a complete disaster.
Staff is great apartments quiet. Great place to be
For some reason this site showed I gave Berkshire 54 a 4 star review. I did not give any review of Berkshire 54.
Love the maintence staff, they have always been kind and quick to solve problems.
It is a good place to livestaff is very helpful and responsive
Update 6/23/15Welcome to our palm tree tropical oasis in the middle of southern living. So the answering message goes if you call the apartment office, in the most gushing tones. Palm trees is correct...I believe the message says 40 of them in all their glory. Perhaps they even bought genetically modified palm trees that will actually live in the North Carolina piedmont, but I doubt it.The reason I bring it up is because this massive fiasco is managements attempt at eye candy to suck you in to a lease, without actually fixing the things that need to be fixed. When you come in, make sure to look off what we call the yellow brick road...the walk they have spent a year creating, that gives you images of paradise when you walk from the office to the display. In two years my rent has gone up over twenty percent and I expect a hefty rent increase nest lease go around to pay for their oasis debacle. Unfortunately as much as I like it here, principle will dictate a move next year because the price of these Apartments is sky rocketing. Please take note of the 40 year old single pane windows that fall out. They could have fixed those and saved everyone about forty bucks in electricity a month. But they didnt Or they could have put in garbage disposals, but they didnt, Or they could have actually put working fans in the bathrooms, but they didnt. The list goes on.In short, it is obvious to anybody who has been here a while, that the only thing management cares about anymore is greed...and palm trees. If nothing else come by to see our pool. It is a magnificent testimonial to avarice.
Nice apartments ran by nicer people, attentive and expedient maintenance, and the friendliest office staff Ive ever met. Bring your dogs in to work more often or Im bumping this review down to 4 stars.
Friendly management, lovely pool, nice amenities in updated apartments!
3 stars...electricy bill is extremely high in the summer because the front door, on the bottom is wear so all the air lets out..you can tell with the light always shining through the other side. Rent goes up way to much when renewed. Cable and internet, washer & dryer included in rent..Other places are doing around 630 to 700 for 1 bedroom and here is like 900$ .. I wish they had 1 bedrooms avaliable and for the right price. I do like the staff and they have somewhat worked with me.. and now that they are starting to do events like movie night outdoors and finally got the pool open this summer its been nice. Not sure if ill renew again.
The rent is outrageous and the renting staff are some of the rudest ladies Ive ever met. Kelly in the leasing office is the MOST unprofessional and childish of the leasing staff, making sure that the other staff connect calls directly to her when it is not necessary so that she can berate and insult her tenants.
Berkshire 54 is under new management and i have seen a lot of improvements and more is to come. There are already new grills outside for barbecue.
Awful experience. Stole money from me. Do not live here.
I like this neighborhood!
Fantastic 👍🏼
Great
Wonderful employees
Love this place!
My husband works here :-)
While I chose this apartment due to a deal going on at the time, I’ve regretted my decision ever since. When we first moved in we saw bugs around the apartment, but thought it may just be from being vacant so long. I had never lived with roaches before, so I had no idea that I should’ve left then and there. I began to notice roaches crawling along the sidewalks and complex walls at night, as well as crawling from the drains when I enter the house. No matter how many times I’ve spoken with Berkshire, they send terminex to come for a short period, which never accomplishes anything. In hindsight, I wish I had read more reviews prior to moving in. I have almost half a year that I’m stuck here with roaches, and no idea how to deal with it other than hoping to call a company myself, and hope that with the whole building being possibly infected, that they don’t just find a way back. Take my advice, don’t do it!!
