Shopping for new windows was an exhausting and dreadful experience until we came in contact with JR at Franklin Window and Doors. I was concerned FW&D was going to be out of our budget but they were understanding and more than willing to work with us. There are so many window companies that make so many different claims and its tough to decipher who will do the best job and narrow down what is needed. JR came to our house and helped us understand the meaning behind the specifications, helped us pick a window that met those specs, and helped us stay within our budget. We also visited the showroom to view different options and we settled on the Marvin windows they offer. JR took time to answer all of our questions before our purchase, and cared about our experience. The windows were installed in a timely manner, they are the best looking windows on the market and they operate wonderfully. Their installers even sealed off a few doors for us free of charge, among other things. We had a great experience with JR and because of this we would highly recommend Franklin Window & Door to any of our family and friends. We bought two high-quality entrance doors from Franklin W&D for about $7,800. We interacted with employees in their showroom, sales, service, and management. They were knowledgeable, professional, & helpful so we expected a good experience. But I can’t recommend Franklin because of the terrible installer that they use for doors.The installer John Eby was extremely unprofessional and his workmanship was very poor. He’s more than just “one of their contractors”, he does all of their residential door installs. He said a few inappropriate things on the phone and several more during the installation. He disrespected our property and us by dismissing or ignoring every concern that we had. Our doors and frames have touch-up paint in half a dozen locations and filler in another. These ‘new’ units were completely undamaged before Mr. Eby carelessly installed them.He left one of the doors so far out-of-adjustment that it hit on the frame in two locations. This took the manufacturer’s oven-baked paint off both the door and frame in both places. He recklessly and needlessly damaged the drywall then dishonestly tried to shift the blame. Touch-up paint and a lot of caulk don’t restore the door and wall to their original condition.My wife and I have owned three houses during the last thirty-five years. So we have had both good and bad experiences with various contractors. But I can only think of one other experience that was as bad as this one. It was easy for me to write a check for the doors when we ordered them. But it was difficult for me to write another one for the terrible installation.

I contacted Franklin Window and Door to do a small installation. Normally Im the guy guilty of hiring low price contractors, however, I wanted to make sure this project was done correctly and with a high level of detail. I wanted transom windows installed in a dark living room that had no window openings. In order to install, FW&D had to remove the exterior brick veneer, frame for the new openings, and install the windows. I could not have been more happy with the result, and attentiveness of the field techs. I was shocked by how clean they kept my home and the jobsite. The project turned out 5 stars.

Worked with Scott & Cory for a exterior door replacement project. Looking at a fiberglass door to replace a insulated steel door plus a new vented storm door. They reviewed options from Therma-tru and Provia. Left there more comfortable and knowledgeable on my options. Definitely plan to order both from Franklin Window & Door as well as have their professional install both. Ill close with this, started at the big box stores. Wow, so many gaps in product quality, warranty and little gotchas. Im thankful to have learned what I have to avoid being disappointed going down this path.
