The hotel itself is very nice. It’s conveniently located close to a major highway which makes it easy to get to and easy to get to other places. The front desk staff were friendly when we checked in late night/early morning. The front desk staff during the day were less friendly as they barely greeted guests as they walked in. The main reason for my rating is the unwillingness of the manager to allow for accommodations. My son and I were in town for the under armor high school basketball event. I requested a late checkout as we learned of my son’s Sunday schedule later in the day on Saturday. I was told that only a finite number of rooms are available for late checkout. And they had unfortunately reached that finite number. I was told that Marriott loyalty members receive priority and housekeeping needed to clean the rooms to prepare for their check-in. The kicker is that I was then told I could PAY for a late checkout at a half day rate which would allow us to stay until 4pm. So … complimentary late checkout was not available (which we needed until 1pm) because they needed the rooms ASAP, but if I paid, they would No longer need the rooms ASAP and late checkout could be made available???? For the amount of money paid for this hotel, I was very disappointed and shocked at what seems like a money grab.Additionally, if you are in town for a sports tournament, I do not recommend this hotel. They offer FREE guest laundry amenities which is awesome! However, there’s only one washer and one dryer available. During our stay, there were guests there for basketball AND baseball. We literally stalked the washer for hours. The bright spot is I got to bond with 2 really nice parents - 1 basketball and 1 baseball - as we staked out waiting for a the washer to become available.

There was an issue on check-in late on a Friday evening. Despite booking months in advance with a specific written request for room accommodation, and being assured directly by a hotel Manager 3-4 days prior to check in: no such accommodations were made. The Manager at check in was initially dismayed that any such requests were made - since nothing whatsoever had been noted on my reservation, much to my chagrin. After a long to-and-fro, John R. (who was the manager on check-in) did everything he could to shuffle things around to eventually honor my request. I appreciate the extra work that john did in moving-a-mountain late on a Friday night to accommodate us. John R. is wonderful Manager and a kind, diligent and conscientious person. He should be recognized and commended.

Positive: This hotel was nice, very clean and it exceeded our expectations. We were thankful for the security that they had on the property. The lady at the front desk told me it is a very safe area, and they have security that patrol the parking lot. Negative: The bathroom door had a gap in it that would have made it awkward if someone is traveling with someone who isn¿t their significant other. However, I wouldn¿t let that deter me from staying there, it is something to be aware of.

The Renaissance is very clean and comfortable. We stayed there this weekend for a baseball tournament, and the staff was great. They were beyond patient and provided excellent customer service to a hotel full of baseball teams! Would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful establishment. The staff were hospitable and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed the accommodations as well as the amenities. The pool area was wonderful and we got to enjoy it alone. I would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone. I really enjoyed some of the decor in the place as well. It wasnt just thrown together. Great place!!!

Awesome hotel! Very new or updated, lobby is beautiful comfortable (important since I had to work there).Room is exceptionally clean, bed and linens are comfortable.Free parking (open parking lot), safe area, staff is super nice, they allowed to do a late check out at 12.30 since we checked in late.Free coffee on premises.Would definitely come back if I would be in the area.

Overall a nice hotel in a good location for a Grand Park Soccer tournament. Lots of restaurants around for convenience. The staff were really good and they have a tough job during the coronavirus, so commend them for that.

A friend and I stayed here for the Carmel Marathon. The staff was very helpful, kind, and accommodating! The room was clean and the bed was incredibly comfy. My only complaint would be the service at the restaurant, Club 39, was lacking a bit. However, I had the herb chicken with garlic mashed potatoes and it was delicious and very generous portions. I will definitely be returning for next years race!

Positive: Clean, reasonably accessible from 31, easy parking, warm pool. Negative: Sliding glass doors to the bathrooms are a horrible idea. (Basically no privacy)No bathroom ventilation. Could not block light from entering the room through the curtains.

3 day weekend business trip. Friday -Sunday. I leave out 6 am Saturday and return to my room about 12 am long day of work. I find my room infested with ants. In my bed on the counter and inside my Cpap breathing machine.Call front desk to inform and he says he can send security down to spray the room. Hotel is sold out and he can’t move me. I get that part but he also know that every hotel is sold out within a 20 mile Ratios so I’m stuck.I decide that I’m checking out and only then does he offer me a refund for the night. I request a total refund because it cost me over 300 to get a new room. I’m an avid Marriott gold member with over 40 stays just this year alone.The least I could get is a totally refund. He says that he can’t do it because I discover the ants tonight not last night. So the ants appeared on a random Saturday night 🧐. They been there and he was not compassionate the least. Felt he did me a favor for the 1 night refund.Couldn’t use my Cpap had to pay $300 to get a room elsewhere. Not the service I’m used to from Marriott. Rethinking using them for my future trips. My company uses them for all our AAU trips over 25 teams multiple weekends. Not mad just disappointed.

This is a great location! The staff was very kind and there were great covid prevention measures taken. The restaurants on premise were temporarily closed during the pandemic, but there was a good selection of restaurants that were nearby or offered delivery, many until 9 or 10. Everything about the room was perfect.

There were few additional people Other than our group staying at this hotel. The staff was very accommodating with reservations that were on again off again due to the coronavirus outbreak. It was obvious immediately upon entering the hotel that exceptional effort and cleaning measures were in place to ensure the property was clean and disinfected...everything from the floors, walls, to elevator buttons were spotless and regularly being disinfected. These are crazy times, and this Marriott property handled it exceptionally well. I would like to stay at this property again once our lives return to normal and the hotel is fully functional.

The hotel is nice and most o staff are nice. I reserved 2 rooms for one night through hotwire under my name but I called the front desk and let them know that my daughters and their coach will check in and I gave them the names. We extended one more day through same reservation and I did call the front desk to let them know. The hotwire didnt have their names but since I called and let them know, I didnt add them again for the second night since I already spoke to front desk and let him know they are staying another night and I will did the reservation through hotwire. Also my daughter went to front desk and let them know we extended the same reservation. When we checked out they said it was a different reservation with different name and refused to use my new reservation that they found and charged me 4 rooms for the same nights with 2 now show saying they could have used the room for someone else when the hotel was not full. Mistakes happen and that when it comes to good customer services. the front desk was not nice at all and refused to use the reservation and we had to pay two rooms at their rates when the third party rate was way lower. so disappointing wasting money that i work hard for it because I didnt know that I have to call again and add the name to the new front desk because the one I spoke to probably didnt leave a note. very very bad experience.

I would not go back just for the simple fact, they offer no complimentary breakfast of any kind. They have it bagged for 5 bucks. First hotel that we’ve ever stayed at to charge a fee for breakfast. Not to mention, essential supplies we’re missing in room. Extremely dumb idea to have a clear glass sliding door (not even sealed) for a BATHROOM door. So your waking up your guests when anyone needs to use the bathroom in the night. Not to mention lack of privacy big time! We’ve stayed at many other hotels for a fraction of the cost that offered much much more! Will for sure write this in the books as a do no return!

Very friendly service on check in. The lobby, workout room and pool were all clean and easy to find. Short waits on elevator. The room was clean, quiet, nicely updated and well appointed. Quick card key swiping for access. We were upgraded to the concierge floor but comped breakfast the next morning in the restaurant bc the concierge room is closed on the weekend(nice). The restaurant was well appointed but service was a little slow, pricing was a bit high ($65 min. per person) on Valentines day evening with a minimal menu. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will return.

Both building and grounds are well kept. Staff pleasant and professional. Room suite small for 2 people; would be great to have a chair for both to relax in. Room location quiet and convenient. This hotel is especially great for a meeting/convention. Everything is clean, modern, and compact. The bar and restaurant present great service and good food and drink. The staff is friendly, helpful, and the service is prompt. I would recommend this hotel. The rooms are also nice with a desk for working, TV for relaxing, and very comfortable beds and bedding.

Being a Platinum Elite member in the Marriott family, Ive come to expect great properties with excellent service. The Renaissance exceeded those expectations from check in, room comfort, bar/lounge/restaurant, exec club, to checkout. Staff is charming and friendly. I must say, a tad friendlier than those back in my home state of California. For a moment I thought I was at Chic Fillet, because EVERY staff member said my pleasure when I thanked them for assistance or a service. I was out for an interview and when I land the job, this will be my go to facility. Well done and thank you!

Not exactly well made rooms... Nothing to do with staff, the design is just too artistic. First of all, they have a glass sliding door in front of the bathroom (why!?!?). Second, that glass door blocks one of the few outlets in the room, and squeezing through in the middle of the night basically guarantees bent prongs if you roll the door far enough (not far). Its definitely not ideal for larger groups (3+ people), but could be bearable for smaller groups. The hotel isnt ugly or poorly managed, just not practical.

100 or so of us were there for the multi day Music For All Festival. The day after we arrived MFA began canceling events due to COVID 19. The front desk was helpful in setting up a movie night for the kids as we spent more time at the hotel. We were able to move our flights and ended up departing a day early. The breakfast buffet and staff were great overall, even the friendly housekeeper who woke people up early to clean rooms. Thank you.

This hotel was a terrific find . Everyone was friendly from the moment we came in the front door . The fountain in the lobby gives you a rich experience right from the start . Breakfast is later then most hotels so you can sleep in and the selection offers a wide variety. the beds are super comfy and make you feel pampered . Always a our choice when we attend the theatre in Carmel.

This place is gorgeous! The lobby area is spacious with beautiful decor. Theres a restaurant and a Starbucks for your dining and light snack pleasure. The rooms have personality with modern decor, modern big screen TVs and big comfy beds that have plush mattresses. The indoor pool and fitness areas are an addded pleasure.I seen myself having my wedding or future events here.
