The staff and veterinarians are so kind, knowledgeable and thorough. Our golden retriever has been a patient since he was a pup and is loved by all the staff.

Unfortunately we were devastated when we made the decision to put our 18 yr old Lily to sleep. Dr, Morgan was so professional, sweet and comforting. All the staff were so kind. We are bringing our newest Furbaby Cassie to Dr. Morgan and moving our 16 yr old Rascal here too

The staff were very friendly and took good care of my dog. Very good experience there. I would not recommend buying meds from HDAH, there is a massive upcharge, in some cases over 100% compared to Walmart and other places that sell pet meds. Soured what was an otherwise positive experience.

I recently got my first puppy and they’re extremely helpful! Since this is my first puppy, they’ll patiently listen to any concerns I have! Also, they’re very kind! I’ve been here about four to five times now and each time they’ve been so kind and always have a positive attitude!

My cockatoo is 10 yrs old and was experiencing some pain in her rear legs when trying to jump up. She was started on a new medication the day we were seen. It is only 48 hours after starting the new med and she is feeling better today!

I recently had a big scare with my chihuahua Ruth ann, I picked her up and drove to Hazel Dell as fast as I could on a very busy day when dr. McDaniel was scheduled for surgeries. He made time anyway and checked her out for me and reassured me right away that he didnt think anything really serious was going on. They kept her there for the day to keep an eye on her and I had some blood work done and a urinalysis done. He did determined it was probably a back issue that she was having. Im so grateful for dr. McDaniel since he is always so pleasant and very thorough with his job. He always gives really excellent advice as well and explains things thoroughly. I couldnt be happier with Hazel Dell Animal Hospital! All of the staff members there are wonderful.

HDAH is the best around! I dont even live in Carmel anymore but I made the drive to bring my fur baby there. They were so caring and fantastic during the care for and loss of my other little guy. Hazel Dell Animal Hospital has been our go to since we got our first fur baby almost 6 years ago now. They have always shown our animals so much love. We have seen each of the veterinarians and really like them all! All of the staff are absolutely wonderful, and they are so good with our beagle who has terrible vet anxiety. Have been with Dr. McDaniel and Dr. Basset since they opened. Our chocolate lab had his first and last visit here and terrible allergies and they gave him the best and most up to date treatments. He was even one of the first dogs in Indiana to receive a new drug that is now prescribed frequently. Added a lot of quality of life to his last years and they let me stay with him when we put him to sleep. Our new dog who is now 5 will never go anywhere else either. They are the best. Their staff is the best. Cindy, the office manager and Deanna one of the front desk ladies have been there since the beginning. There are not enough words to describe how much they care, how organized and how well run the office is, and how personal the doctors are. Very clean also. Cannot recommend enough.

I had been wrestling with the idea of switching veterinarians since something happened recently to Annie at our last vet when they had her in the back. Im not sure what, but I heard an awful yelp that was not anything I had heard from her before. I asked when they brought Annie back in the room if that was her, but the tech said no. The next time I went to bring her she was even more anxious than normal during the car ride there. Once we arrived, I could hardly get her in the door. When they went to take her back she wouldnt go, so they had me walk with her and she kept looking up at me like, mom you arent going to make me go back there and I felt so bad when we got to the door and I couldnt go back further with her. When they came back out, they were not even able to trim her nails, because she was so anxious they only did one paw. I debated whether I was overreacting to find another vet, but my gut kept telling me to. I just felt it was going to be too traumatic for her every time she needed a trim or an annual exam to go in there and it was also a 1/2 hour drive. I was also unsettled at the fact that the tech had apparently misled me. January 18th Annie had her first visit with Dr. McDaniel at Hazel Dell Animal Hospital. I was 100% thrilled. From the minute we walked in the door, everything was done to help Annie feel less anxious. Dr. McDaniel spent a great deal of time getting to know Annie, sitting on the floor with her, answering questions, and explaining her anxiety, as well as her older injuries that she had sustained before I adopted her. I was blown away. In all my years of taking family dogs to vets and now my dogs, I have never had such a fantastic experience. We have found our forever vet home!

I cannot recommend Hazel Dell Animal Hospital more. Simply put, they are the best. I am always blown away at how much personal attention they put into treating my cat. We started with them when they first opened and they took excellent care of our 3 cats up until and through the time we had to say our last “goodbye”. I had an extremely sick dog and was 10 minutes late for our appointment. They would not allow us to see a doctor because we were just a little late. My dog was throwing up and couldn’t keep any food down. They showed no empathy or understanding and could not offer any alternative appointment times that day.

Dr. Greg McDaniel is the best vet in the world! He has been our vet for over 20 years and 3 locations. We couldn’t ask for a better person to care for our four-legged children. He really cares about the animals and treats them like a member of the family. A first class animal hospital!

Although we are not clients, my BFF, while we were walking on the Monan, experienced a surprise limping after no apparent traumatic incident. . I checked paws for foreign bodies and range of motion. Then a kind cycling couple stopped to help us, got my car and helped load my baby.My vets office was not open. I contacted referred emergency clinics, each noting a 3 to 4 hr. wait time. But chance, I called local vets and Hazel Dell offered to see my guy if I could get there in 10 mins. Yup we were on our way.Dr Pamela Cross agreed to emergent care, examined and xrayed my baby. She stayed past business hours, dispensed follow up instructions and pain meds to get us through the weekend until we could see our vet and get an orthopaedic consult as needed.So grateful to Dr. Cross and staff for going above and beyond. Ive been bringing out dog to Hazel Dell Animal Hospital for 4 years and I have always appreciated the care and attention they give to my dog and her medical history. All of the staff members are cheerful and attentive to your needs. Before the vet enters the exam room she has already reviewed the medical history and the brief Ive given the vet tech in order to provide input to the examination and help give a more accurate diagnosis and treatment. I couldnt recommend this place enough!

Dr. McDaniel and his staff are great. They are very kind and gentle with my cats. Love the separate cat area. My cats are not used to dogs and I believe this separate entry and exam rooms help keep their anxiety levels down. They treat my cats as though they were their own. I had been at a cat only clinic and none of the staff was as gentle and kind as this staff. I cant compliment them enough, from the desk to the doctor they are the best!I highly recommend this animal hospital, especially for cats.

This is by far the best vet and office ever. The front desk staff is amazing and anytime I call, they know who I am, and our pets by name. Anytime weve had an urgent situation theyve been able to get us in right away, even on Saturdays. They accommodate for my dog who is other-dog-aggressive as well. The appointment reminder cards have their photos, and usually they give our dog a bandana when he leaves. We had a very special needs rescue dog at one point, and after he passed away, they made a donation to Purdue In his honor and memory of him. Honestly I wish they could be my human doctor, truly they are THE BEST!

After only one visit here, I already know Ive found a great vet clinic for my fur baby. I didnt feel rushed, they seemed to really care about the service they provided, and gave my little guy lots of attention. I also received a thank-you note, hand signed by the staff...thats a first for any vet Ive ever been to. I also didnt feel like they were up-selling any products in order for me to spend more money. They seemed to recommend only what was really needed and didnt overcharge. Definitely will recommend Hazel Dell!

When researching local vets, I found that Hazel Dell Animal Hospital was recommended by the American Association of feline practitioner specifically for being a cat friendly practice. I have had negative experiences with my cat at vet office here locally due to inexperience, handling, etc. I have had a positive experience at Hazel Dell and particularly liked how there was a cat-only entrance. It provided a little bit more comfort to my stressed feline (and owner 🤪)

We LOVE Hazel Dell!!! We always look forward to taking our fur babies to the vet because we know we are going to be greeted with a smile from the time we walk in until the time we leave! Dr Basset and Dr McDaniel spend time with you during your visit and explain things very well! I know when I have to leave my babies there for a long appt or something that Dee Ann will give me updates happily when I call and love on my babies for me! I honestly would not take my dogs anywhere else! This place is top notch from the front desk staff to the Drs themselves!!!!

I honestly didnt know I could love a vet so much. Every single member of the staff at Hazel Dell Animal Hospital is incredible. No exceptions. I am so very thankful for their kindness, compassion, and professionalism. They take such good care of us and our babies that they feel like family to us. They instantly know who we are and every little detail about our pets when we call or stop in.Our family has been taking our animals to Hazel Dell for probably 15 years, and boy have we seen it all together. They are so compassionate with every situation, and Dr. McDaniel and Dr. Bassett handle every situation with such ease. They also tell the truth, which is so valuable in a vet. In non-favorable situations, they are so open and honest with what treatment options theyd recommend for all ailments.They are all just really, really great people, and we are so thankful to have them in our lives.

My dog is 11 months old, and we have seen Dr. McDaniel, Dr. Bassett, and Dr. Griggers for his multitudinous belly issues. We have never had anything but the most positive experience with any of them. Thankfully, my dogs GI tract seems to have normalized, thanks to the expert care, patience, and concern of these doctors and the top-notch staff. All of the techs are extremely competent and kind, and I love it that they are always so welcoming and friendly. My dog and I especially like Brittany, though. I would recommend this office unconditionally and wholeheartedly.

HDAH has been amazing!!! Just recently had to rush my senior dog for an unscheduled urgent appointment. Dee Ann up front did a great job squeezing us in on a busy Saturday morning as she could tell my dog was in need. The detail of the exam and ruling out all possible options made me feel so much better for an older dog where it really could be just about anything. They do a terrific job of detailing out instructions and responding to questions for treatment. Then the follow up is very sincere and focused on the animal! Everyone I have had the pleasure of interacting with has been as genuine as can be and truely love the patients!Hazel Dell Animal Hospital is the only place I recommend to anyone and I trust them with EVERYTHING!

They care for our 12 year old dog (since we got him), very sensitively handled the illness and subsequent euthanasia of a young kitten (including sending a sympathy card), care for our 2 cats and are now caring for the newest addition to our pet family -- a puppy.The staff, vet techs and nurses, and vets are warm, friendly and welcoming, as well as being helpful on the telephone and in person.I originally went to them because they were very close to my home. About 8 years ago I moved into Indianapolis, so they are no longer conveniently located for me. While there is a well known veterinary hospital within a mile of our home, I continue to drive to Hazel Dell Animal Hospital -- I like and trust them and would not entrust the care of my precious pets to anyone else.

I got my male indoor cat declawed. They offer laser declaw for the same price that most vets charge for scalpel. My cat hardly had any pain and was jumping around the day hey came home. The staff, assistants and Dr Basset answered all my questions and treated my pet kindly and patiently.
