Because I’m usually there when John was there for 20years I realized he was the only one to cut my hair, now he is gone, I was told to San Marcos, if you hear anything about him till him to post his warabouts.

If you are looking for a great old time Barber shop, you have found it. Abel is the best. Friendly, willing to take care of your every need. The best thing about this place is the great conversation. Men, there is no better place to get a great hair cut at a very reasonable price! AAA++++

They were great I didnt have cash on me its a cash only barber shop so they allowed me to walk down the street go to the ATM and take out some cash and pay them they were very friendly and gave me a shave at the end no charge under 20 bucks for the haircut really came through for me

This is a real old school barber shop during the time of my visit there was about 4 Barber with a steady line of customers seems like there are a lot of regulars. There is a large TV that was showing the local news when I came in. the front of the shop to get pretty busy but there is parking around the back there also is a rear entrance its right next to the Garcia restaurant

Hopefully they will open soon maybe March 1 great barbers especially john

Great atmosphere (3 stars)... Unfortunately, the only barber worth waiting for (I presume is the owner) is the one on the far left end. The other barbers who share the two seats closest to the door (and yes, I have been several times over the past year, and have had several different barbers cut my hair) are more about getting your haircut over with and on to the next person waiting... absolutely no attention to detail. I have had to take out my own shears and razor to clean up what they left me with, and shave the strips of hair left on my neck. This is after telling the barber what I wanted and with which guard to use, etc. I overheard the owner say his shop, is not like the new hipster barbershops, and this one is like the one your grandfather used to take you to. Agreed, the atmosphere is great but it would be nice if his employees actually worked like the barbers of the past. I no longer go here after giving this place several tries over the past 2 years... and am still looking for a barber that I would be happy with giving my money to on a regular basis for consistent good work.

Garcias barber shop is a great place. Theyve been around for three generations and is still family owned. The barbers are regular and you can wait for your favorite or take the first available chair. Its really no frills, a couple TVs playing sports, classic movies or the local news.If you are looking for a traditional barbershop then stop by and get yourself cleaned up nicely. They also cut kids hair and I often see parents there with their kids. Definitely recommend them!

A reasonable price for a great haircut. Always a kind word veteran barbers. Donut shop and Vigilucci’s across the street. They even have a TV for you restless souls.

Classic barbershop...wonderful. No appointments, take a chair, wait you turn while engaging in the topic of the day. These guys know how to cut hair and they do the appropriate finish shave around your ears, the back of your neck and your sideburns. Perfect job, my new shop while out on the west coast.

While all the local shops are now charging $23+ for a basic mens haircut, Garcias is giving a great haircut for $15. I just got the best haircut Ive gotten in a long time. I didnt find out they are cash only until it was my turn, but Abel told me to have a seat, get my hair cut, and go get cash after. I cant even put into words how much that impressed me. Ive been on the lookout for a new shop...I just found it.

This is an excellent barbershop. It’s a fun place to get a hair cut. They do a great job with my hair and I get to have good conversation with the barbers. It’s in a great location in the Carlsbad Village and has been there forever. It feels like being able to be a part of Carlsbad history when I get my haircut there.

I met Lawrence back in 1995 when I used to live in Oceanside. Ive since moved back to Texas. I rarely get haircuts because if its not Garcias, Id rather have it down to the ground. Its almost there.Im looking forward to visiting again this summer. First, Ill go to Garcias. Then, Ill go visit my dad.

I was looking for a local barbershop in Carlsbad Village. I was lucky enough to stumble upon this gem. Bill was my barber and he was very nice and friendly. He told me the Barbershop has been around since 1954. The place is bigger inside then you think and it had a lot of people coming and going while I was there. Seems to have a good following as it has been around for a while and locals have their favorite barbers. $13 for a haircut is more than reasonable as other barbershops around charge $20-25 for a haircut! Will definitely be going back here and recommend this anyone looking for a quick professional haircut. Located right next to Garcias Mexican Restaurant.

Old school barbershop that give modern skin fade cuts, blends, and even military cuts

I am a local, and this is the only place I will get my haircut. Old guys are great! Its an honor system for whos next. This is a family type old style barber shop with a lot of history attached. Certainly worth the more than reasonable price of admission.

Haircut was ok but they don’t take credit card or give a receipt. Cash-only wasn’t prominently advertised. Obnoxious.

Because they gave me a great cut at a fair price. Able also gave my dog a treat, nice man.

Family friendly place. Ive been going here for twenty years and now take my six and three year old. I feel like this place is part of my family. Anyone here will cut your hair to your liking and do it with a smile and warm headedness.

If you want all your hair cut off, then this is the place for you. If you want any shape, forget it. Especially horrible with curly hair.

I asked for a medium-low fade and received a poorly executed medium-high (by poorly executed I mean not faded in on either side). I had to get it fixed somewhere else due to the fear of getting a worse and higher fade/haircut. Nonetheless, I was offered by the gentleman to get it fixed once he noticed my discontent. Overall, my rating is solely based on the haircut. The establishment, its cleanliness and the ambiance are true to traditional barabershop standards.
