David has always been fair. He is extremely reasonable with his prices and will tell you how much its going to cost before he starts working on it. Only mechanic ill use.

Not from here, he was reccomended to me by a lady that lives here. I will recommend him to everyone !! Hesvery knowledgeable about what he does and very fair on cost.Will use him again when I have vehicle issues. Call him you will be pleased with his work.

This 1 star rating has no bearing on the shops quality of work, it is in regards to not disclosing the cost of work to be performed. I was quoted $200 to install new brakes rotors and calipers, then given a $460 bill upon pick up of vehicle. Had this been disclosed I would have gladly done the work myself. This was for labor only.

I used to work for David and hes a great guy super honest. Mike and him are great absolutely the best mechanics in the world and hes just about the coolest mechanic. Mike is great at rebuilding old cars and working with electronics. I loved working with em, 5 stars any day.

My daughter and I had our Bearings fail on her truck, we were towed to David’s from Guadalupe NP, David repaired the truck right away and the price was very fair, we were so lucky to find his business! Highly recommend!

I had my entire A/C repaired. David did a great job and showed me all of the old parts that were bad. His prices are also great. He was actually just a little lower than my quote from a shop in Lubbock. Several of my friends also do business with him all of the time and are always satisfied.

In response to me saying that I was losing control of my car on the road and that it was an emergency to have it repaired, I was told by an employee (or the owner -- Im not sure who I was talking to) that All car issues are emergencies. Have a nice day. Then he proceeded to hang up on me. I was shocked at how rude he was! I have never been around someone so disrespectful in the car industry (or any industry for that matter). I dont feel comfortable keeping my experience hidden because customers deserve to know that this place is not professional. I would have been fine being told there was no availability, but the added response was beyond shocking. I have been to many car servicing places in my life (due to continuously moving for work) and this is BY FAR the WORST car repair shop. Support any other place but this one if you want to be treated as a valued customer.UPDATE: The mechanic I took my car to said Im lucky to have made it to my destination and they were extremely worried about my safety along the drive due to these issues. They were shocked about my treatment with Davids Auto Repair.

I will take my other vehicle here. Awesome service. I took my vehicle to another shop and was quoted a Very high price. Then I went to Davids. He told me what the problem was and then asked if I wanted a good quick inexpensive fix or go the high route. I thought I was going to have to cancel my vacation before I went to Davids.Very glad I came here.

Davids Auto Repair is probably one of the best repairs places Ive ever been too.If you see a bad reviews, on this place, look closely to who is writing them.Most likely some teenagers smoking pot and having a laugh...

Was in a pinch traveling, brakes were grinding in the back, pulled in and got helped immediately for what I consider a very reasonable rate. Hope to not be in this position again, but if my car breaks down near Carlsbad this is where Id go.They prefer you pay with cash and dont accept credit or out-of-town checks

There is a reason why Davids shop is THE HIGHEST RATED SHOP in Carlsbad!!! This guy is awsome. Im a out of towner and popped a sparkplug in my v10. He worked after hours just for me and fixed the plug and only charged me me less than 200$ 😲😲. This guy works on race cars so I promise you he can fix any problem you might have. I am in debt to David and I thank him very much. He is as good and as honest as they come. Thats why he has the highest rated shop in all of Carlsbad.

Ive been doing business with the owner, David, for more than 20 yrs. Ive always been satisfied with the work, but also with his professional attitude, friendliness, knowledge, straight-forward estimates along with cost and completeness of work performed. I can highly recommend this business.
