This was our first time here and it is super quaint with a great location. The staff is super nice and personable. Robin was great and took time to walk us through all of the wines, you can even see where they make the wines through a window in the lobby. All of the wines were fantastic and I would definitely recommend stopping in here if you havent before!

My husband and I visited Monte Alegre and enjoyed it! With COVID restrictions, we were not able to do a tasting but the staff was very welcoming and informative on the bottles for sale. We bought a bottle of rosé and walked the grounds, a quiet, lovely afternoon.

Great time at this small winery, Sangria was great. All wine with some fresh fruit. No sugary juices. We’ll be back!

This was actually my first visit to a winery where I got to have a wine tasting, but I thought this place was so amazing. My mom and I went there today, as part of our weekend trip of Southern Illinois wineries (I call it Paradise Lush), and we were immediately greeted by the sweetest dog and the most cordial owner, David. He was extremely welcoming and friendly the entire time we were there, he gave us very in-depth information on the wines we were tasting and how they were prepared, and the wine itself was better than anything Id ever had. Im not a big wine person and I dont care for dry reds just yet, but all of the reds we tasted had such amazing flavors and the complementary foods he served brought each flavor out perfectly. We left a whole case of wine and new friends, so I would highly recommend this to anyone who is enthusiastic about wine, or even learning more about it!

I have been in many vineyards and never have such a good experience as in this one. Owner was very friendly, easy to talk to and knowledgeable. We only bought one bottle because we already had few bottles of wine from others winerys in our trunk. Highly recommed Monte Alegre Vineyard

The wine and experience were both amazing! We got served by the owner and maker himself for our wine tasting and he didnt just pour us some wine and walk away, he explained what each wine went best with for food or snacks and a bit about the wine itself. If you want a relaxing experience for wine tasting, I highly recommend here!

All of the wines were smooth and the tasting was presented very well. The wines were also very reasonably priced.

Ive spent many years in Carbondale but only recently discouraged this gem. Monte Alegre has the best chambourcin wine I have ever had. The owner is knowledgeable and incredibly friendly. Dont miss this place!
