Excellent experience and exceptional work from all crew mates who made the experience all worth it. Would definitely come back and will recommend this business to my friends and family. Dont forget to bring cash as they do offer extra snacks/food/services such as fileting fish, grilling steaks and for tiping the crew. What is included with the cost of general admission is: breakfast, lunch, unlimited soda, bait n tackle, rod n reel, parking and fishing license. π£ You need zero experience to be able to catch fish as they are very knowledgeable and professional crew will help / guide you all the way.
10/3/21 Did full day trip. Left on time and got into 100 feet depth. Alec and Zach were very attentive and did a fine job. Smiley worked the galley and was also great. The Captain did his best to find the best spots. We went to 4 locations. It was a nice day. The boat was very clean and cold a/c inside with 2 restrooms.
Captain Charles was the bomb! We did a private half day charter with my family and my sons girlfriend. I thought we caught a lot of fish and was satisfied. But Captain Charles was disappointed we didnβt catch more and kept stopping on the way back to catch more! Our 5 hour charter was now a 6 hour charter at no extra cost! We caught a wide variety of fish that really gave a fantastic fight! Iβm glad we didnβt catch more as I donβt think I had the energy to reel in anymore! The weather and sea were perfect and couldnβt ask for a more perfect day and trip! Thanks again Captain Charles!!
I just took a couple trips on the Orlando princess and had a great time. A shark bit my hook in half and got away but I did catch several smaller fish. But the best experience was the fine crew working hard. And the best of all was the cook smiley he made a great impression on me.
Great place to come fishing. Yes its just like any other fishing sometimes it is crazy and sometimes its ok fishing. I still love going out with them as the crew makes it worth while. Need to head back with them soon and do a full day trip soon. The shark fishing is also an awesome trip.
Had a great time shark fishing. We went on a 4 hour night trip. Overall we had a great time. The crew were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We caught two sharks and the crew helped us with all aspects of the trip. We didnt have a lot of people on the boat which helped have a good experience. It wouldnt have been fun if the boat was full. The spots are tight and would be uncomfortable. I wish they only allowed smoking on one side of the boat to ensure not getting a faceful of smoke from the person next to me.My son got sick on the boat and the crew were understanding. I also appreciate the crew helping us filet the shark and clean it. I understand the tipping the crew and had no issue with it. I find it hard to believe people are surprised about having to tip as its on the website and on the email reminder sent a few days prior. Thank you to Alec and Mitchell, our great crew!
Mates, Steven and Damon, were great. Mike kept us fed in the air conditioned cabin. Top notch. Great full day. Highly recommended. Much better than other party boats.
Great experience! Lots of fish being g caught. Although only 2 crew they were extremely attentive to the passengers. THE Cook was great and very speedy with lunch!
Sent few men in our family as a Fatherβs Day gift. Seats were purchased for their comfort and I was told they were occupied by others. The overall impression I received was that crew were more focused on expressing the value of tipping than actually making the trip pleasant for guests. One went as far as to announce βour crews salary is 90% of your tipsβ. Iβm a bit disappointed with the excursion.
Great time out on the boat, deckhands & captain where very knowledgeable
Its a nice boat. The mates were good they kept us fishing. The fish were mostly cooperative at the first two spots. The last spot The captain put us on was pretty dead. If only there were more species down there than the endangered red snappers, federal geniuses to keep it closed in federal waters. The burger was tasty and the interior service was good. 3 hours of fishing and about three hours of boating.
Nice staff, decent boat, Over Fished fishery. Caught one small Red Snapper thats out of season anyway all day long. Packed boat and only 3 small keeper fish total for the boat. Only drifted Reefs, with no structures it debris (wrecks, culvert pipes). First time with this company and DEFINITELY the time.
Our family had such an amazing day! The crew really made this trip even more special. We will definitely be coming back this coming winter!
Was pretty decent.... Not the biggest reds Ive caught with them but the one I kept weighed in at a solid 9lbs.... The smaller-medium size ones taste better than the bigger ones in my opinion anyways
12/12/20 Fantastic day and bachelor party on the Starfish with Capt. Shea and his Mate/younger brother Cane! They are a great team, and The rain didnt stop us from fishing or the Capt. From puttin us on the fish. We had an amazing adventure and came home with plenty of Mahi, snapper, and trigger fish. My arm is still killing me from wrestling a large Nurse Shark! Thank you for a great day. Truly the best charter we have ever been on!
The deck hands are great. Ive fished with these people a few times now but the first time was with a huge crowd. Took awhile to get the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich. Then for lunch its a cheeseburger. The cook, smiley as they call him has a few of the same old jokes he always says. He actually came outside to fish on the other fishing trip yet when he did he had so much slack in his line that it went to the back of the boat. He was standing in the center of the boat. So when I tried to throw my line a little fsrther out to avoid crossing lines with others I couldnt because his line was in the way. He then just cut my line in a heart beat that it could have been untangled in 20 seconds tops. Then after the fishing trip I realized he was doing that to others in my group as well. So leave it to the guy not paying to ruin it for the people paying extra money for those numbered positions. We enjoyed everyones company but Smileys for other reasons as well. Decent boat and deck hands a.ast to fix any issues you had.
We did the full day fishing - the staff was SPECTACULAR! Steve was extremely helpful, Smiley was so kind & made the kids a Smiley special - highly recommend this Charter! We had an amazing time!
The crew of the Star Fish was outstanding. Every angler had expert coaching and help. Would go with them any time.
First time here. Nice crew, great fishing (bring BANK sinkers, they only have egg sinkers which is a pain). But be aware some people may try to lie to steal your fish when it comes time to stuff the cooler
Avoid this place like the plague or COVID, whichever you prefer to not getβ¦Their website is extremely janky when used on a mobile device (Apple iPhone 12 Max Pro) and the wrong date was selected. They refused to work with me and charged my card for the full amount. I offered to pay the full rate and go on a different trip, but they refused to accommodate me. When I called my credit card company, they claimed that this is a normal business practice and there was nothing they could do.When fishing with this company, I would be more afraid of them, then whatβs in the water.
The deck hands were awesome. Captain didnt put us on keepers after 3 times trying but caught some beautiful red snappers and black reef sharks.
Fun offshore fishing trip. The crew did awesome and was very polite and active with everyone. Definitely recommend!
1st time for my family Deep sea fishing! The crew was very helpful and great at their job. The price was very affordable and included breakfast and lunch with unlimited soda, unlimited bait, tackle, and fishing poles. Being on the boat with other people was great. Everyone was catching all kinds of beautiful fish. The only downside was that my youngest son and i were seasick for 95% of the time, which was no ones fault. We will definitely be back!!
Wasnt happy with the fishing trip the crew was nice about taking care of you.the cook was terrible he thought it was all about your wallet to crowded spent alot of time snagged up with other people then I thought it was smoke free and alcohol free but yet customer through there cigarette but in the ocean with no respect of the ocean then there was customer on board who didnt have to pay I wont be back
Nice Boat..Fish were biting ...Lunch was really good ..Thanks for a good day on the sea..
Fantastic experience. The boat staff was awesome, everyone was helpful. Alec was particularly cool. Gave my wife and I pointers and helped me successfully reel in a 7ft sandbar shark. Loved every minute of this trip.
For the price you CAN NOT pass it up the opportunity to go. I have not one bag thing to say about the services provided, the captain definitely took us to the fish! The only bad thing is how close you have fish to the person next to you, some people donβt move so either lose your fish or get sharked :( I would definitely recommend taking something for sea sickness (even if youβve been on a boat before)!! I took the medicine but the waves still got to me. They guys were super nice about it tho! The chef has awesome service, the deck hands even checked on me while I was down. I will definitely be going back for another trip!! ALSO, some of these guys work for tips they donβt get paid hourly like we do, please tip them! They keep everything running, they will do anything you need them to but they tie you up if you break off, they take you fish off, they measure your fish for you, they mark your fish and store them for until we get back to the dock. Lastly that boat was so clean and the ladies bathroom was kept in great condition (just need a trash can in there), thatβs something that will make me never return to a place no matter how great it was. I highly recommend the Canaveral Princess!!!!
Fun half day trip . I didnt catch any keepers but others did. Friendly crew.
My husband and the boys got to enjoy some great fishing!! Definitely going back next time weβre in Florida!! Hats off to our Captain!
Went on 1/2 day fishing trip yesterday. The cook was great. The crew was awesome, very fast at helping and friendly. Very clean. All level of people fishing on board.Giving 4 star due to the lack of number of fish caught by everyone.
I read great reviews on this place, but we didnt have that great expirence. The crew were good and they worked hard to help people. However I wont use orlando princess or carnival princess again. 8 hour fishing trip, and the captain took us on a 2 Β½ hour ride out, 2 Β½ hour ride in, he took 2 30 minute moves. And a couple of 10 or 15 minute moves. We had 1 Β½ hours of fishing time. Even when the red snapper was bitting he moved us. He also took us through a heavy rain storm accompanied by some crazy lightning strikes. Between my wife and I, we did get our limit of 1 red snapper, but didnt have the time to try to catch different types of snapper or any other kind of fish. 1 Β½ hours of fishing time out of a 8 hour trip is very disappointing.
It was ok!! The crew member they were really good and really helpful. The cashier grumpy old man, not friendly at all, other than vomiting all they The trip was fine.
Great crew, nice trip! The crew was extremely helpful and the lunch was perfect! Worth every penny!
Never met a meaner person to deal with. The guy is so unprofessional. I cant even say how mean he is
Great boat and crew but I got seasick. Many fish were caught and I will try it again.
Not much fish was caught by anyone, got out to the fishing grounds and sat in that same spot for 3 hours. Then we finally moved spots. Its great if you want to take a 4 hour boat ride. Safe to say this dude from Massachusetts will never step foot on the Canaveral princess!! Waste of money and time. Critter fleet up the coast north is where ten times better.
As always..another fantastic day with the best party boat in the Port. Thanks again Damon and Steve!!
Boat had to come in early from full day trip due to someone having an emergency. The owners then decided to not give us a refund, rain check, but they offered us a free half day.Dont use these bums.
I had a great time on aboard the Orlando Princess. Breakfast i had bacon egg and cheese sandwich which was delicious. Lunch was burgers it was pretty good and you definitely gets your moneys worth on this trip I caught three red snappers unfortunately out-of-season two grunts used as bait fish and hooked up too a pretty big shark but broke me off. It was pretty slow day but will return soon for another full day fun and excitement.
Mad hospitality shout to all the mates working or fishing will help out mad love
We had a great experience! All day fishing on the Starfish. Captain Shea and First Mate Kane worked very hard to make sure we were busy fishing. We caught fish and they worked. Terrific day. Great memories build great character. Many thanks!
Awesome charter to go deep sea fishing. Didnt catch a whole lot because of a previous storm but we all caught something including a 7 ft sand shark. The deck hands were awesome keeping good leaders on the line helping with tangles and even the bird tangle we had. There was good food prepared by Smiley for brekfast and lunch. I will definitely be back again!!!!!!
Good price, took us out pretty far away, I did not see florida. They have a fish finder and we stopped at 3 locations, caught some king fish and some snapper. We also cought other fishes to include a huge nurse shark, but we could not take it. Overall its a big boat, deckmates were very hepfull, they had free soda and water, they do sell beer. They give you a small meal. They work on tips, take care of them at the end. They will even clean and bag your fish for you. They have bait and rod for you. 5 stars if they had a non-smoking tour, next to me was a person that smoked and ruined it for me.
Nice crew, everyone caught fish. Deckhands were very helpful
This is the very best fishing charter around! The orlando princess is an incredibly stable beam catamaran. Even in 5 to 6 foot seas the boat provides a pretty comfortable ride. When at anchor the boat is extremely stable compared to most monohulls. If you are more prone to seasickness then this is the boat for you.The crew of the Orlando princess is very knowledgeable, helpful, and attentive to the guests on board. From the second you are on the boat it is very obvious that every member of the crew is there to make sure you have a good time. From the moment you hook a fish somebody will be there to help you both fight the fish and bring it aboard. They will help you hold the fish and take pictures. If you catch something interesting they will also bring it around the boat to show everyone else what you caught. The crews care for conservation and sustainment of a healthy ecosystem is also very impressive. They do not just carelessly throw fish back if they have air trapped in their digestive tract.Overall this is a great experience that you should not pass up if you have the urge to go fishing. You will not regret your decision. Also I caught the biggest red of my life aboard! Thank you Orlando princess!
Love this boat! Great crew, especially Smiley and Alec. Will return again.
Beware of required tipping. Apparently the deck hands arent paid much (they said $3/hour and really work mostly for tips. You can find recommended tipping on the FAQ page of the website, but it isnt prominent and I had the impression that it was for the kitchen. The deck hands worked hard, but I felt ambushed by the unexpected additional cost. The boat was crowded and not many people caught fish they could keep, most had to be thrown back because they were out of season, but overall there still wasnt a lot of catching. The deck hands compensated for this by trolling for king mackerel while the boat changed position and had someone from most parties real it in and keep it. That way the pictures look good, about ten mackerel and eight other fish. You dont expect every trip to catch a lot, and I wouldnt have rated them this poorly if it wasnt for the terrible pay system for the crew. If you show up expecting to pay an extra 20%cash or more when you add in the tip for the cook then youll be fine.
Bait and switch! PAID $10 pp for a stern seat. NO SEAT! Just a place to stand. Not very wide space to stand. Says theres a gally, Wrong. Gally closed on night shark trips. They dont tell you any of this until youre paid and doing the pre boading the boat. FYI:You only fish for a couple of hours. Takes an hour out and an hour back. The chumming take over an hour to start working. TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY!
This was a great experience. Well worth the price. Great family environment and the staff was extremely helpful and patient with us. They worked with me for 30 minutes while I reeled a shark in! They cut up your catch for a tip. We will definitely use these guys again!
Ahhh....fishing....free breakfast free lunch...great value.trip was awesome great staff.clean restroom and ship.caught a couple of fish...but 2 small.but beats being at work.deck hands are good and yes they fish as well....but always helpful.....and thats a plus service.will i do it again yes definitely.maybe the night shark fishing trip
It was really fun and the crew was very helpful gas we came!!
βUS Aluminum greatly enjoyed our all day fishing trip on 9/7/19. From start to finish, organizing our trip with Orlando and Canaveral Princess crew was a dream. The office staff was very accommodating with all our questions for a large group and the crew was amazingly helpful while on the ship. The ship itself was great (especially for a large group) β people could enjoy the top deck, the air conditioned seating inside the cabin and/or sit outside the cabin to actually fish. We recommend this to other companies seeking a fun filled day of team building and we look forward to scheduling other events with this crew!β
I would highly recommend. The boat was very clean, the crew was extremely friendly and always willing to help. Yes, they take a tip jar around at the end but they are trying to make a living like everyone else out here. They are NOT pushy at all. The food was good, the cook was a nice guy. No dislikes at all. Would do it again. We had snapper caught, nurse shark, eel, sea bass and other fish. Great time!! Would do it again on my next trip.
The mates were great. The fishing was SO SO. CAUGHT TO MANY RED SNAPPER, a couple dozen sharks, and a few other fish that were keepers. The Captain moved the boat 3 times in search of good fish. As they say, it is FISHING NOT CATCHING. HAD FUN THO.
Fun time on the fishing excursion. We didnβt catch much but other; more serious people around us did well. Any day fishing is better than the office, Top it off with a beer and burger on the boat and voila!
Kid friendly! Super nice guys running this ship! Help you with any fish issues that come up! Even clean your fish for you! For a small tip (they work off tips)
They should have said that were only fishing for red snapper thats the only thing that anybody caught on the boat. And we had to throw them all back why would they not have said that red snapper season is over?
Nice boat nice mates nice chef didnt catch anything but I had a great time
Absolutely awesome night of shark fishing. The boat wasnβt full, so there was plenty of space to distance from other guests. We pulled out in the rain, but the captain found a great area where it was dry and we anchored. The sharks started hitting before sundown (we were warned they rarely start biting until after sunset) and before the chum even started flowing. The two guys that were there to assist in bringing in the sharks were amazing. They were hustling at top speed to keep up with the sharks coming in and the need for hooks and line to be replaced. The boat was super clean and easy to maneuver. The light show from Mother Nature was a spectacular bonus. Lightning from across the sea (far enough to be safe) made it a beautiful night to remember. We will be returning soon when family visits next month. Canβt wait!
Typical tourist trap. For a 6 hour trip the ride was 4 hours and we fished less than 2 hours. We fished in shallow waters for the same restricted specie. The only thing we took was pictures. If you want to catch fish I recommend the full day charter.
Ive fished with this boat and crew for years! most times I come home with fish, sometimes I dont. But I always have a great time!!
A Royal dissappointment:Fishing spots were dead.. Dead-dead.Only thing anyone caught were croakers no larger than 4 inches. The deck hands caught baitfish left and right, but nothing else. No one could agree on a good spot. The boat kept spinning around, putting everyones lines into each other and under the boat.A terrible experience all-around.
Fishing was good. The sea was a little too much for the kids..... crew did a great job! Food was very basic. Would go back without kids.
We had a great time. The mates really worked hard to insure that every guest was taken care of. We caught a lot of fish and had a lot of fun.Lunch was really good and the boat dog (never got her name) was a sweetheart. We will definitely be back. Thank you Orlando Princess!!
They had reelly been on the fish good back in September before king tide. Smiley makes some great food that comes with jokes and John is a pro deckhand that knows alot about fishing. The captain is good at driving around storms when possible. Everything on the boat works and it is thoroughly cleaned each time. Great boat, good time. I saw a teenager reel an 8 shark to the surface. Ill be back soon enough I hope
Overall it was a nice trip, but there were some issues to be aware of. For one there are regulars that go out. They bring on more gesr than can go under the bench so they pile it in the lounge. This takes away the seating in the AC for lunch. For two they have a big fish pool but the biggest fish did not win seems the only counted snappers for this pool which is what the regulars were fishing for. Go figure. Three we were told to drop our baits straight down yet the regulars were piching their baits out and catching more fish. The crew was very good and helpful. They made sure we had fresh bait and undid many tangles. My biggest disapointment is the way the regulars are catered to and not following the rules that the rest of us must follow. And please dont give me this they are more ecperienced fisherman. I fished Bassmasters so Im no rookie.
Unfortunately had a bad experience. I booked a night shark fishing trip for my nephews and I. Boat was nice, crew was nice, weather was perfect, not a single shark was landed! Just 2 or 3 small catfish were caught by others on the boat. Hopefully others have a better experience.
Great crew beautiful large boat everyone on this boat caught fish captain Charlie put us on the fish jimmy and shea great mates Nicki got the burgers and brews inside dont miss out great time
Boat was brand new and beautiful. The deckhands were very polite. Didnt eat the food, so cant comment on that. Aside from that, the trip was a big letdown. Read for details.First, youre crammed together, so the lines were constantly tangled (causing at least 3 of our fish to break free). I think someone coined the term combat fishing. Perhaps if there were more than 3 deckhands for the almost 100 people, this couldve been avoided.Second, the fishing spots were terrible and it took ~30min to have the captain settle the boat, which wasted valuable fishing time. First spot was a complete dud and wasted our time. Once we finally had some nibbles on the second spot, the captain decides to move on to the third/final spot which took forever to get the boat settled. Of the ~80 people fishing, we (the whole boat) caught 9 fish. 6 small sharks, 2 beautiful red snappers (had to be released) and 1 flounder. There were a few grunts (small sea bass, etc..) that were turned back into bait. Finally, as someone mentioned in another review, it was extremely tacky to continuously ask for tips. On the way in, the deckhands walked around the boat with a tip jar. Outside of homeless persons, Ive never seen anything like that in my life. While we tipped them well, it would be nice if they were allowed to provide fishing tips instead of running around untangling lines. Maybe adding one additional deckhand dedicated to that?
Always a great experience. Breakfast and lunch are furnished with unlimited fountain sodas and water. Coffee in the morning too. The crew is always on the ball. An economical way to go offshore and bottom fish.
Great trip... Cool staff that takes good care of you. π
We had a couple issues out the gate, but none of which were the company or crews fault. It was a real slow fishing day, but my husband, son and I all had a wonderful time. The crew were all AMAZING!!! They taught us things about fishing, how to know when the best time to go is and how to keep track of what the weather will be. They made our trip more than worth while, and we will be returning.
Our charter captain didnt want to be there.
