Palatial! Original cloud machine is enhanced by recent ceing clean. Very well managed non-prof with many employees and volunteers to assist. And did I say it is absolutely beautiful?!
The Palace Theater rocked tonight with Pat Benatar & Neil Geraldo. The sound was great, the place was clean. I highly recommend this venue.
Its like stepping back in time! Beautiful!
Beautiful venue for concerts! Staff was fairly nice and helpful. Anywhere you sit, you’ll have a nice view which is a plus! Parking was super easy. You can either park for free at the nearby library, across the street for $5 or the theatre’s parking lot for $10. We chose the parking lot across the street, a little closer for when we had to walk in the dark, which was a plus. I’d love to come back for another concert here!
Beautiful space, very well run, easy parking.
Great venue! Every seat is a good one!
Very much enjoyed the venue. Its smaller than the Akron Civic theater. its a very intimate setting but the sound was good. Saw I Lindsey Buckingham and really really enjoyed it. The acoustics were solid. I would see a show there again. There were some solif nearby choices to eat. Went to the Asian bistro nearby and their menu options were very very good.
Im giving it a 3 because we saw Bret michaels here he was awesome .. but this place has the worse set up ever the second you walk into the door you are right on top of the concessions and drink area .. then to the left they had the merchandise set up no organization stuff thrown everywhere and the line was actually blocking us from getting to our seats. Canton Palace get it together you fill the place up but make it hard on people to enjoy .. Brett tell them to fix it lol we love watching you sing
Awesome place to see a concert.
I love the Palace! The building and history is amazing
Sorry... I wanted to give the Palace 5 stars but hit the wrong star. Again, sorry...the Palace is a great place...never have had a bad experience...have been going there since the late 50s as a youngster...5 STARS!!!!!
Great venue for a concert!
Beyond impressed with the staff and theater itself. We will be back
The palace theater is a great place to watch a movie I just seen christmas vacation and it was amazing
This is an amazing place to visit. Most of the times I was there was when my father and I would go to watch the battle of magicians every year. The atmosphere of the theatre is breathtaking. It has been an amazing place to visit. Lots of history in there. Looking forward to more visits.
I never pass up an opportunity to visit this perfectly named and exceptionally beautiful building. It is a piece of Canton history that truly shines with the glory of the downtown heyday. The painstaking work that has gone into maintaining this theater is clear from the facade to the seats and stage. Never a disappointment.
Saw the Beatles tribute there tnite it was great! Those guys did an amazing show... loved it! And also I forgot how nice the Palace is...its such a cool place and usually not pricey to see events there. Put it on your to do list
Newer to the area and decided The Rocky Horror Halloween event would be a fantastic first time visit. Boy was I right had the time of my life. Beautiful theater, over the top staffing, and a hoot of a time for a packed house! From the fun prop bags to the wonderful concession and beverage area it exceeded expectation. I will surely be back in the very near future. Thank you Canton Palace Theater for a truly great film experience.
As a local who’s been to the Palace countless times I normally have a good experience. A few of us went out to see something here and had intended on sitting in the balcony. The balcony wasn’t yet open so we waited around for probably 20 minutes before eventually we decided to ask a staff member if there even was plans to open it. We saw two security guards and an older man in a Palace uniform. We approached one of the security guards as they didn’t seem to be involved in the conversation with the other and the palace employee. The fact is this employee deemed it necessary to almost yell at us like children and tell us to “wait a minute” while practically shooing us away when we didn’t even approach him. We approached someone who seemed to be not be in the conversation and could possibly answer a simple question but instead practically got yelled at by someone we werent even speaking to. For someone who appears to be in a management position he really didn’t act like it. Additionally we saw him have a similar interaction with another group of patrons. I will make mention that we were some of the last people there and the mentioned security guard was closing up and was pretty friendly and polite.Editing to update that I was here for the Rocky Horror Event. I get working in a stressful and busy environment, trust me, but that’s also not an excuse to basically yell at multiple customers and treat them like children when all they wanted was balcony seating.
Great show!
Great place
Concerts there are awesome!! Seen three in all different seats and none were bad! I suggest you go at least once to see for yourself! N they let u up close its great!
Beautiful day. I know its in down town canton but for it being in that area, it wasnt as bad! And they have give Friday of the month things so I enjoy those. Would definitely go again! Gives off an old time feeling because of the way the theater looks and I love it!
Nice theater with few bad seats. Nicely decorated and comfy chairs. Acoustics arent ideal for loud concerts, but wed love to come see a musical or play.
Nice old theater to see Dream Theater! This was my first time at this theater and I was really impressed! Room sounded great. Of course Dream Theaters sound man is probably top notch, but doesnt take anything away from the room acoustics. We sat in the last row UNDER the balcony and there wasnt any boominess or echoing. Sound was tight and solid. I wont hesitate to see another show there. Im sold!
Beautiful theater, inside and out.
Nice atmosphere. Staff was politeThey have strict rules on purses. It has to be 12 or less. But you can bring a larger clear bag. Every seat is a good seat. Restroom was clean.
Beautiful theater and one of the most extraordinary places to visit in Downtown Canton. I love watching movies and live shows here... and I still love watching the clouds move across the sky. Prices are reasonable and they always have something for everyone. Love the Palace.
One of a kind place to visit.Do your self a favor and read up on the History of this place before you go. It will make your visit much more interesting.I liked it so much i bought a supporting membership.
The best place in Stark County to see shows!!
Here to watch Purple Rain with Miranda Lee and Casey awesome place
Go every year to Rocky Horror picture show! Always a great time!
When they say, They dont make them like this any more, The Canton Palace Theatre, is what they are referring to. Beautiful architecture and charmingly adorned. Seating is comfortable, but not made for modern Americans. The shows and concerts here are on par with theaters in larger cities.
We love the Palace. It is so much fun coming to this beautiful theater to see movies and shows. The people are always great, the organ performance before every show is fun, and there is just something special about being in such an awesome building.
Worth the 9 hour drive. We have never seen a historic theatre like this one. Staff and volunteers were so nice, helpful and knowledgeable of this treasure that was 2 weeks away from a wrecking ball. Cantin and Ohio residents obviously know how to preserve what is valuable. We would absolutely, make the drive again for the Palace Theatre experience. Not to be missed for film lovers and historic theatre aficionados! 5 stars!!
Amazing we went and watched the Rocky Horror Picture Show. It was my first time there and it was amazing. The theater is beautiful prices was just right. We plan on going back next year..
Its a really nice place.
The decor is breathtaking. Its more intimate and the acoustics are great. I went here for a concert date and I would do it again in a heartbeat.
Lovely building and it appears youre able to see from anywhere (view not obstructed but bring binoculars if youre far away from stage). Not sure how Ushers are compensated but they really werent very helpful. They didnt assist w/ finding seat and there were people sitting on the stairs, blocking ease of entry.
Great place to come and bronf you family, kids, grandkids enjoy some popcorn, listening to the old time organ and see a movie. Check out first Fridays! Tonight March of the Penguins. You may have see it at home but have you seen it on a big screen complete with comfortable seating and a 1920s theater? Well worth the trip! Why not make it a tradition?
I attended a wedding here. Wow, what a beautiful theater. Great place for almost any event.
Had a great time watching The Grinch movie. Jose Medina event was very nice. The kids enjoyed it alot
We always have a blast here. They host the best movie nights! Down to the specialty drinks for the occasion.
The Canton Palace Theatre is an elegant place from an era long since past. It is not just a place to see a play, movie, or personality, but it is an experience. From the ceiling that looks like the night sky rolling clouds included, to the ornate lights and outcroppings, the theatre is a great show in itself. Speaking of shows, the music that fills the air from the person playing the organ that appears from beneath the stage adds to the adventure. I highly recommend going there
Its a step back in the past. Beautiful building. The organ player during the silent films is amazing.
Wonderful show and beautiful theater. Seating is very tight so keep that in mind!My boyfriend and I went to the 90’s country concert on 2/21/19 and sat in the balcony. We could see everyone great and the sound was awesome! Would definitely go back to see any performer there again!
Gotta love this place. Preshow organist rising out of the state, special programs, and an amazing old theater with baroque decorations make this a great night out
Beautiful place but the bar situation is terrible! 1 upstairs, 1 downstairs for some reason they close they bar upstairs less than halfway through the show, so if you want a beer you have to wait in a super long line downstairs that has 2 servers so youll miss alot of your show just trying to get a beer, it shouldnt be that difficult... not a good setup at all
If was an amazing setting for a band concert. I love the old look. The sound was amazing. The seats werent as comfy as you found find in other theaters, but its an old theater. It has an up to date pay system for the concession, which enabled me to pay using my phone. It was clean and was being kept up as the night progressed. I enjoyed it simply as that. They have movies there too.
Really cool place. This was my first time visiting and I thought it was awesome how they have kept all the historical details. While it was a little chilly (they were having some boiler issues) staff made sure everyone was aware so they could keep jackets with them if they wanted. Love first Friday movies here cant wait to see another one.
Nice place but HORRIBLE service! Make you wait forever to get in to get through security for a 3/4 empty show. Bought front row balcony but moved down to last row floor, could have bought those tickets for half the price. Picked out and paid for front row balcony for a reason. And they couldnt even try to apologize for it.
Just love everything about it.... Great special showings and events.... Fantastic historical importance in the community
Gorgeous gem of an historic theater. Our favorite feature was the mesmerizing cloud display on the ceiling. Dont expect big comfy seats, drink holders, or the best sound and picture quality. We love this place for its architecture, history, and sense of community.
Great old theater!! Architecture grabs your attention!! Acoustics are good too! 👍
Nutcracker Performance 8 December 7:30 pm. Full house, Not enough Ushers or signs to find seats. When seats were found someone was in them. Usher took a while to rectify issue. Performance well under way when we got our seats that cost $259.00 for 4 seats in the last row of the upper balcony. Isles not adequately lit, poor/no hand rails, several of us had difficulty in the dark, even after performance lights were not turned on sufficiently to see steps to exit, surprised no one was hurt tripping in the dark.
Ive been here a handful of times and i swear it just gets more beautiful each time i go. They host a annual anime fest, (which i attended earlier today) they had venders and showed spirited away in the theater, stunning would be a good word to describe the experience. Ive seen plays here too which are always a delight. All in all i would recommend to stop by if youre ever in canton.
Great place. Only a dollar for movies. Wish theyd do movies more often for kids.
What a beautiful piece of history in Canton, Ohio. Went to see a movie on a Sunday afternoon. Very disappointing though there was nowhere to get dinner after. The theatre is great. The city like a ghost town.
Historical and beautiful! A nice place for a date, anniversary, or just a night out.
Good, some not so great. The artists weve seen have have been great. The venue is beautiful and intimate, but you have to know what to expect. Bring cash if you want anything. No credit or debit purchases - we wanted shirts, lost income for the artist, no ATM, not for a couple blocks. Also a no photo rule that isnt posted at the door, or announced. And its only partially enforced. I guess know ahead so you arent the one caught. Alcohol is sold there (cash only), and there may be some who indulge and are loud and rude. Im not sure why THAT is not stopped, but snapping a pic is?
I absolutely adore the Palace Theatre, I think its so neat that theyre still up and running it. Ive only ever been on First Friday events, where its free to come, however I would absolutely pay to see a movie there. The inside is absolutely stunning, and they often has an organ player before the movies, an experience you dont want to miss.
We just had the pleasure of visiting the theater tonight for the Twilight Zone showing... and it was incredible. What an absolute gem of a historic building. It was clean, staff was friendly and we will for sure be back!
It was GREAT. Seen Ron White in concert. The building is old and beautiful.
The superhero night was really fun, and the Superman movie was good even though Ive seen it before. The Palace Theater is a very exciting place to go to ro watch a movie
This place is GORGEOUS! Easy parking, fantastic atmosphere, lovely staff! We had s great time!
Excellent entertainers. Friendly, courteous yet professional staff. Still could use updating for my taste.
The most wonderful most Charming thing about Downtown Canton is about as theater its old its well-kept and they have wonderful movies there and theyre reasonable and I love going there I would go every weekend if I could my car is broke down right now and we were just downtown across the street from there at a doctors appointment the other day and we were talking about how we miss going down there got to get my car back anyway I love driving to Canton its old its beautiful love it looks original Im sure it is I dont know what is what isnt oh you just wanted me to preview the palace okay Im sorry I was getting carried away thats part of why I like the palace because its part of the Old Canton is old thank you
It is such a beautiful place to see anything. I saw Tesla and it was a great experience. I highly recommend this place.
Nice classic theater. Beautiful, artistic carvings all around. We found parking at the library a block away, but there is a small lot across the street as well (not sure if it is private).
Absolutely beautiful theatre. Enjoy every time I go.
I love the history of this place! The inside is gorgeous and well kept. I always loved going there on field trips as a child, and I have taken my kids there for several movies. Also been there for band concerts. One place that is well known to Canton and is something that I recommend to everyone to go at least once.
I attend the Nutcracker every year with my daughters. Its always a wonderful performance and I love the charm of this theatre.
The Palace is one of a kind. Gorgeous interior with architecture you wont see anywhere else. The seats are comfortable and there is not a bad seat in the house. Truly a jewel in downtown Canton.
