I take the deep water class Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 8:15. I love the enthusiasm and high energy level of the lady who leads the class, i think her name is Stacey. She told me today that she was a substitute! So sad! I hope she gets to substitute forever! She interacts with the class and had a great sense of humor!!
Made reservations for open swim checked in at the desk they were sweet and informed me that since I’m under 18 I would have to take a swim test so after like a 3 minute wait hopped in swam to the end got the necklace and was able to swim until break. I had to hop out for 10 minutes, checked back in no issues. Pool was definitely chlorinated (no clue how the ladies kid got staph in the other review, i don’t think it was from the pool if you work in a hospital type setting I’d get it checked out) lifeguards are pretty easygoing at correcting the rules and even explaining why they are rules that way. I loved seeing them interact with the kids they are very gentle. Also found it cool that they had life jackets for the really little kids. I read the rule boards and nothing sounded unrealistic/ not understandable. Also watched the guards get yelled at by angry people who didn’t make reservations and the pool was crowded or didn’t even bother to talk to anyone and just got into the pools. Some how they just tolerate it with a customer service smile.
The lifeguards here make it pretty unbearable to have a decent time with your kids. We’ve ignored it the last few times but it’s just not worth the money spent. They make you wear these ridiculous necklaces that plenty of people before you have worn and a mask on the pool deck? The last two times we’ve gone my son has gotten a staph infection from the pool. I’m pretty patient but going forward I’ll just go somewhere else.
Slides and lazy river are never opened. Thats the only thing we would come here for and were not able to utilize it. Then I came into cancel and since Im one half a day away from the 15 day mark to cancel Ill be charged 79$. Total bull. They know how often you come because of your card you scan and they can clear see I dont come often.
The staff are very nice. Ig u get hungry the provide food at the vending machines. The pool is fun they have slides lasy river and a diving bored.
I live out of town and thought it would be fun to go swimming. We were debating on the YMCA or the Rec. I wish we went to the rec. Im so glad I called ahead because they are requiring online reservations. I did not have a computer so I had to use my phone. My internet is not very good in nampa and I had 3 adults and 2 kids in my group and we wanted to swim there for several hour and the adults wanted to sit in the hottub. So I had to create an account then I had to make 11 reservations. It took like 20 mins and 2 phone calls. Then when we got there the lady at the front desk was mad because I did the reservations wrong. Not very user friendly. Then when we finally got in the pool first thing we got a whistle blow on us and someone was yelling at me. So I walked over and they were like you need necklaces like I should have known that. So I said ok where do I get them? THEN after one 50 min. incriminate they make you get out of the pool and recheck in. It was freezing my kids were freezing while waiting. I know they are doing it for covid but really they need a better system. This is horrible.
I love this place so much. Its a great place to meet your physical fitness needs plus bring the community together. This facility has a lot to offer. The organization doesnt want to turn anyone away and will try to work with you.
Probably one of the nicest YMCAs Ive been to and Ive been to alot!!! The pictures dont do it justice. I would have taken more but people started filling into the free weight area. From what I can tell they had 4 benches(free weight) 2 regular and 1 incline and 1 decline and 2 squat racks, 1 deadlift platform, 1 leg press, smith machine, standard bench and so on...the free weight area was stacked!!! There is an indoor track(12 laps = 1 mile) a pool and indoor rock climbing??? The only thing missing was a subway or chipotle LoL
Leadership is lacking at the top. They havent taken any steps to stop the bullying that my family has received. Following up with anybody is impossible. According to staff no leader is ever available or they refer me to a person that will turn around and refer me to another. Very frustrating!
The last two times Ive taken the drive from Boise to enjoy this incredible pool, Ive been kicked out because theyve found poop in the pool. Today, in an effort to give patrons an alternative place to swim, the lap pool was opened to kids.... for about 30 minutes.... before that pool closed because of, you guessed it, poop. What the heck is wrong with the kids that come here? Are they not wearing swim diapers? Are parents not teaching their kids to not poop in pools? Its sad to give this YMCA 3-stars because this particular branch is honestly magical. I dont pretend to know how to fix this problem, but its a bad one that needs a better answer.
The costumer service at the Y in Caldwell, is very incompetent. I ask for a form to fill out so I do not have to use a mask and Jacky, the woman with pink hair, told me this form is not for you fill out, you need to take to your doctor to fillout. She lied and also YMCA. Shouldnt be able to do that, it is against the Law.
The Y is very good but the Director Erik Bullock is disrespectful and a vengeful person. Be careful with him.
Great kind staff. Pool area unbelievable. Nice atmosphere.
Im disappointed with the Ys after school program. They dont do what they promise to do.
Went to a birthday party there today and they needed a Id on everyone and were making people pay to go in to some kids 11 year old birthday. Grrr I wanted to swim so did the kids...😡
Marianne, one of the office people at the Caldwell YMCA threatened me to call the police for not wearing a mask. :(
I love the y its really awsome and have so many things to do
I started out taking my grandson to the YMCA for something to do since school was out for the summer. Everything went along fine. Then they started to do nothing but push push push to get membership. They want everybody to have a membership. I noticed the people who have a membership or able to push their little numbers into the keyboard and go right in, no problems. But if you’re going on a day today basis for a day pass only that’s where the problem lies. The people that work at the Front desk are rude. They have no urgency to hurry. They’re too busy trying to sell memberships. And that takes a long time for all the paperwork to be done. In the meantime you’re standing in line waiting 20 minutes or more and they don’t care. I went to another part of the desk to see if someone else can help me absolutely not. When I told the young man that I didn’t want to stand around and wait all day to be checked in the only thing he could tell me was “”we asked for your patience.””I told him you have my patience. He repeated himself three times and did not have any urgency to help me whatsoever. While we were there today my grandson was kicked in the middle of his back. He did not mention it to me until after we had already left the building. But I did notice him go up to tell someone at the front desk. They didn’t seem to care. I think I’m done with the YMCA
The director Eric Bullock was very rude and lied, even banned my friend from the YMCA. That is unacceptable.
They’ve been charging me through this whole covid epidemic. I tried cancelling In March after I moved and told me I couldn’t do it over the phone. They continue to charge me monthly and won’t take calls. Nothing on the website to help me out
It’s an awesome experienceIt says your open but when I call it says your closed. ???
Seriously, mask on a rower?
We love the YMCA! Jacqueline and Mary Ann are amazing! All of the staff have been absolutely amazing to my family and I! The programs that the YMCA offers are amazing! They truly have so much to offer and employ amazing people!
Very friendly and helpful front desk staff. They added a new weight lifting area which has really opened the workout area upstairs a bunch and made it more comfortable and useful! There are a ton of kids after school but it’s better for them to be there then somewhere getting into trouble. If you want to avoid the after school crowd go after 5:30 or in the morning before work.
I love this place. everyone is so nice and they make it feel like home
I havent become a member, YET! I intend on it because the staff alone is worth coming for. So friendly and inviting. The choices of equipment is wonderful. Just wished they had a bigger indoor track. That aside, I prefer this gym to most.
I found this to be a very nice facility. Clean well kept up. Courteous staff and they were very helpful to my situation financially. I would highly recommend it. It is an excellent place to get the much needed exercise with out paying a fortune for it.
The staff is amazing. The facility is always clean. The lifeguards will do their best to keep the pools open when things go awry but being a parent I understand when accidents happen. The lifeguards are great and they get to know families just like the front desk does.
I work out @ 5.15am in the pool with Heather who is a fun inavative instructor. What blows me away is she is able to greet everyone by name. What a blessing she is.
They WERE an amazing place that had great membership prices and were very inclusive to international students that went to the local college! Be cautious now because they dont tell you that they do charge international students! Beware of the boss who actually hates costumers and only cares about herself!
I go there everyday and no problems all the staff members are nice except like 2 people which they are kind if strict but whatever its a good place overall
Great place, great staff, nice indoor water area. Great value and also near my house.
This facility is really wonderful. My husband and I had PT with Deb and she encouraged us to get a membership and we are so happy we did.
I gave it five star because of the pool but the workers are so rude to the adults and kids so I would give them a one
My friend didnt have his ID and they kicked him out when all he wanted to do was play ball we gave him a guest pass as well. I think that its stupid I have been a member here for over 6 years and this is how they treat my family
Love it! So much fun for the kids and they offer great classes too
Everyone very nice. Absolutely, love the 9 am silver sneakers fitness class with Barb as instructor. Also the the golden Zambia class with Sharon. Look forward to classes everyday!
I’m so sad to have to move but I love this place and everyone who works here. The daycare is such a fun place for my kids not only did they love the staff (Bailey, Lyric, and the rest) they are such good care takers. Ak and Janine are some of the best Bootcamp and ocr instructors ever. Great motivators and huge inspiration. There’s no better place for your family to have-fun/work out than here. Thank you YMCA.
Great place to get fit and meet others. Very friendly. Fun atmosphere. 😉😁
Amazing facility, amazing staff! A place to make meaningful connections.
The facility is nice and I had a great personal trainer while working out at the gym, but the staff wasnt always helpful. I went to cancel my membership and was told the account was closed and that I wouldnt be charged again, and got a charge for another month. I called and was told I hadnt turned in the cancellation form in time to not be billed for that month. Getting conflicting stories is incredibly frustrating, which is part of the reason I cancelled my membership. The woman who handles the accounts for personal trainers never returned my calls and increased my monthly payments without my approval. Also, children under 10 years of age are not supposed to be in the gym/weight area, but there were young children constantly running around up there unsupervised and the employees said nothing.
I absolutely love high fitness today amazing instructors that keep u going such a clean and friendly environment been a member 4 years now :)
I was a volunteer here for community service as a part of my government class. I wouldnt recommend volunteering here though because me and a friend, in order to verify we volunteered there, had a problem finding someone to verify our hours. We had a lady named Lisa sign for us but she had the worst attitude and gave us a hard time. They lost some records and exploded at us. We didnt appreciate her treating us disrespectfully and had a manager try to help but it didnt really help. We finally got our hours verified but we had been there for an hour becoming frustrated and did NOT feel appreciated, for we were volunteering for their company out of our good will. We shouldve volunteered somewhere else.
Been closed for two months and they are still charging me. Ive tried to call to cancel but they never pick up.I have also emailed that email twice and have gotten no response. I find that this irresponsibility is frightening considering that children spend time here
I Just moved here, and I called them for a free day pass for the weight room, just to see if they have what I need. and they said no!Wow YMCA! Guess I won’t support locally. Not to mention the guy I talked to was extremely rude when I asked! Thanks for the welcome to Caldwell!!!
Large water slide, Lazy River was our favorite, and kids splash Fountains and playground was perfect! Would definitely recommend this for an indoor swimming place to keep your kids busy for hours!
We get to the YMCA yesterday around 6pm. Carlos is sitting there helping a woman sign her kids up for some camps this summer. We stand there for almost 30 mins. There’s a couple waiting in front of us that were there before us. Carlos kept looking at us and not saying a single word to us. This lady walks in and asks Ricky if she can go to the pool. He takes her ID and she goes. So me and my boyfriend walk up to Ricky and tell him we are going to the pool. He asks if we are members and we say no. So he said you’ll have to wait for Carlos. Ricky literally isn’t doing anything whatsoever. He could take a few minutes to check us in so we can go and swim. We stand there still getting nothing from Carlos. The couple that was in front of us walks up to Ricky because he wasn’t doing anything. They had a missing child. This couple should have been helped a long time ago because of their situation first off but Carlos didn’t say a world to either one of us. Saying I’ll be with you in a moment would have made this situation better but he sat there helping this lady with camps. Ricky helps the couple and then we look at him. My boyfriend and i are ready to just leave because it had been about 45 minutes. Carlos then finally asks Ricky for help. And we get checked in. I don’t understand why Ricky couldn’t help us the first time we asked. He just proceeded to not help us the first time when he clearly wasn’t busy. He was there just twiddling his thumbs. But it doesn’t stop there. I had already called before hand and asked if the drop slide would be open and was told yes it would be open until 8. When we finally get into the pool it wasn’t open. We ask and the girl (didn’t get her name she was a life hard with reddish hair) told us it wasn’t open yet and that she would open it. So we just go and swim and jump off the diving board and still an hour later and the slide wasn’t open. We ask a different life gaurd and he said he would open it. Then another hour passes and it’s now 8 and still not open. We go back to the girl and ask why it hasn’t opened yet and get told it’s 8 so it won’t open tonight. Why tell us it’ll open and not open it. Definitely disappointed with our experience the other day.
This place needs to let kid lift at the gym because i got to to mma but 5 stars
I have always loved this placee. I taught myself how to swim but I got stronger when I went to the ymca. They have parties and I plan to volunteer when I am 14. I took their class to work out upstairs and it is worth the money. I wish I can work out on the ladder and stairs though. :) totally worth it!
One of the best swimming pools in the area.
Was not happy with the way the counters and keypad were not cleaned a week ago Monday. That kind of not cleaning will lead to a case of the CV19.virus
The staff is amazing. Plenty of workout equipment. They work with everyone on payments. Highly recommended.
Very upbeat and positive staff! Very encouraging to participate in activities and get to know the good people.
I love the Ymca the staff is friendly and courteous and everything is stocked to your personal needs. They answer your questions to best of there knowledge and there member ship isnt outrageous like others gym memberships
The swim instructors we have had seem like they have no clue as to what they are doing. Both times we got stuck with young boys as instructors. My kid learned nothing, in fact, I learned nothing just by watching. Awkward and a waste of money. Id rather pay more at Aqua Tots.
Staff is awesome. If you are willing to put in the work, they can help change your life.
Been going here for 2 years. Great staff and lots of workout options.
I love the YMCA its so fun for me and my kids i would recommend going there cuz they have a lot of activitys for my little girl who loves to swim and my son whos 15 so I love it
Need more lifeguards to have more options in the pool area. It would be nice to have the river open more often.
Friendly staff, family focused, tons of activities, FREE high quality workout classes, really entertaining Spring Break & Summer Camps. After school programs, modified swimming lessons, Special Olympics hosting, kids night out & teens night out, Valentines Dance...you name it this place is a blast!
Caldwell’s YMCA is lacking in classes, would have to travel to Boise or Meridian for any classes for young kids
Love this place! My family has so much fun everytime we go!
I love the ymca but they should let 11 or up kids to go into the fitness room
Worst place now have to have guest pass and if you dont have Id they wont let you in so much for bring community and family friendly discriminating more like it no thanks I will go else where!
I called to see how much a one time pass was to try out the facility for my husband, myself and my baby (20 months old). Apparently its almost 15 bucks for each of us, and then they wanted almost 8 bucks for my not even 2 year old (you know because she will be able to do so much). When I asked if there was any one time trial price or anything they said no. And no discounts were mentioned except a family pass which is still 27 or so bucks. I was even note upset when the lady told me the kid part didnt even open until 4/430!! I was so mad, we just wanted to take our daughter in the morning to splash in the pool for a bit. How is that logical to put babies in the pool at 4 something when all the older kids would be out of school and be running crazy in the pool. I guess we will just be using the nampa rec center even though its much more of a drive for us. Im just so disappointed in the ymca, I thought they helped kids and families but apparently not; they just overcharge.
I am updating my review from 2 stars to 5. Eric as a manager has helped this facility greatly. The staff has always been friendly, and they seem to have the pool area figured out now.
I love the YMCA espessily swimming I go with my friends almost every day ☺☺
Came Enjoy The Free Time!!!
Great community resource!
This place is amazing
Staff are really annoying and are all up in your business. need to lighten up and chill out. wouldn’t recommend if you wanna chill with your friends or something.
Great facility and very nice staff.
Rude and disrespectful. I was sent away for my tattoos after purchasing a family membership.
I was wondering about your swimming lessons for me to get out of the house, and I was suggested by a friend swimming lessons by your worker Josh Taylor??? Well hope you can answer my questions. Thank you-Ariel.H
Loved when we had a membership and I lost weight.
Great place to swim
Why is the slide never open? If you cant afford staff to run the slide how about stop handing out free membeships
Friendly people, and plenty of exercise equipment.
Ive been here with my friend Harry 3 times.
Very packed but also very clean
It is awesome
Hated Trevor Wilson creeper of the year
Its the best
Special Olympics and family
For the family
Amaze👏👏👏👏👏
Very big where to have a good time
It has a lot of space, just looking at it makes you want to jump and run with pleasure everywhere is my favorite place!
An excellent service and quality of service
I love it more with Zumba classes
