If you arrive for service after 5:00 pm, expect rude and poor service. I am not surprised by the other reviews stating that they were rushed. Ive had my nails done at this Magic Nails Burr Ridge location three times. The first time, I came in early for my noon appointment, and was not seated until closer to 12:20 pm. I was patient since I knew it was a busy time. The ladies at the front seemed very flustered and in a rush to get everyone to pick a color and then seated. The last time I went, I decided to go after work when the salon is not as busy. My goodness, that was far worse. I felt so rushed and I had to put up with such horrible attitudes by the three employees that remained. The lady customer who was almost finished with her service received such better service than I did. They offered her water, pulled out her chair, offered to hang her purse on the hook for her, held a conversation with her, etc. For me, it was like I was their #1 enemy because I came in for a 5:30 pm appointment. I came in to do a full set and pedicure for my sisters wedding. With my schedule, that is the only time that I can come in for a 2 hour appointment. Since they close at 8:00 pm, I figured a 5:30 appointment would be perfect. The lady who did my feet, I believe her name is Thu, she kept yanking my feet. Each time I needed to switch my feet, she would bang on the foot rest area as though to signal me to switch feet, then if I didnt switch fast enough, she would yank my foot forward. SO RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL! Then, she was supposed to do my nails. She previously did my nails during my noon appointment, and she did a great job. So, I was looking forward to this repeat performance. But, she passed me on to someone else so that she can go home before closing. She pointed to where I needed to sit, did not offer to pull out my chair, hang my purse, or offer water. Then, when I sat down to do my nails, she started to file my nails, then abruptly got up and said that her coworker, a man, will do my nails. The guy came over and started to file my nails, but before he was able to put my tips on, he asked me to pay so that his manager, Thu, could close out their system and she can go home. I havent even received service on my nails yet, no nice conversation, poor customer service, yet I was essentially forced to pay so she could leave. The guy was very nice. We held a good conversation, but he too complained about how late they all get home sometimes. As an attorney, I am extremely busy and my time for personal errands is limited. I thought this location wouldve been perfect for me long-term since I work less than 3 minutes away. But, after being rushed and disrespected like my patronage did not matter, I am never returning.Overall, they do pretty decent work. They shape nails well and apply the polish evenly. But, if you come in for an appointment later in the day, you will not have a great experience.
I’m beyond disappointed in the service I received today, arriving at my appointment 6:30 appointment for 3 I got there at 6:38. I picked a neon green mani padi. I over heard the whole time I was there, a lady with highlights just going on about switching pedicures and polish for customers because of the time. I received a great pedicure which I was not at all disappointed. Although, when it came to doing my manicure the dip. My nail tech was focused on the gentleman besides me doing my friends nails. He kept looking at the time. I made comments that they seem to like to leave at 7:30 closing time. 10 mins before closing wrapping it up my neon green nails were so thin coated. You can see my under nail. The person doing my nails noticed, and can tell I was not happy by the turn out. At this point I was uncomfortable, I made a comment that they look cheap. They offered to paint no chip on it. I told him no that is fine. I paid for the services that I received. I made a comment that my nails look like trash and I wasn’t happy. The lady said we offered you something. I told her I was not okay with that solution. The reason I get dipped nails is for the color, I’m sorry painting no chip to dipped nails while you guys seemed very comfortable rushing things to leave on time. Making customers feel extremely uncomfortable to let you know they don’t accept that fast solution just to rush me out of there.I will tell you guys this, Fantastic Nails in willow brook, took me for a mani padi 30 mins before closing. Nicely asked me to come early because they close at 7:30. Pink nails is my very thick dip set I got from there 🙃🙃
This nail salon is absolutely terrible. I’ve had a great experience with magic nails before but not at the one in burr ridge. I asked to get two acrylic nails redone and they took 1 hour and 15 minutes, and not only that but also smeared the paint all over my nail and left it crusty. I do NOT recommend going to the one in burr ridge.
I’m beyond disappointed. I’ve went here twice for a pedicure and no chip acrylic. Don’t know how long this has been on my finger since I did go back to get a fill in, I got my nails soaked off and found fungus under my nail. I’m so upset because my nails where so long and I wanted them to grow out when I took the nails off but instead I cut this nail down to help it breathe and heal. My nail tech was Leo.
The staff is great! Maya did a great job helping me pick out the exact color I wanted.I am adding to my review due to post covid times. The place is very clean and professional, all necessary precautions of social distancing are being met. The place is very clean and everything gets wipes down.I had Mary work on my nails most recently and she did a fantastic job. She took her time to make sure she got the design exactly the way I wanted and was patient while picking out the colors.
Good fast service 👍☺️
The salon is also very nice. Always clean and the staff is friendly as well as knowledgeable about their products. Highly recommend!
If you looking to get a great pedicure this is a good local spot. At the end of the day who doesnt want to rub my feet?
I suggest going and requesting Daisy she is super sweet and very good at her craft. My fingers and toes have never been so thankful.
Great work!
Expensive for the cheap quality and unprofessional. Don’t get your nails dipped here.-_-
This use to be my go to nail salon. Not anymore, prices have gone up and quality has gone down. I went in last month for a dip, which normally lasts a few weeks. Within the first 10 days I had to have 3 nails fixed. So I thought maybe I just had a new tech, so I decided to give them another try last week. Not even 3 days later I had 5 nails chip. Do NOT waste your money going here.
Went in for a Pedicure and a DIP manicure - the Pedicure was mediocre at best. They seemed like they were extremely bothered that we had the nerve to come in two hours before close... The Dip Manicure was not great either. I had to use my lunch break to go back in the morning to have one of the nails fixed and then less than a week later - multiple nails have chipped. Went in Wednesday night - three nails were chipped by the following Tuesday AM. Who needs their nails to look good for the holidays anyways.... So annoyed. Now I need to use another lunch break to either have them fixed or removed. Which at this point - I should have them taken off so I no longer have to deal with this place. Its a shame... it used to be a great place but now its horrible. My advice: Go anywhere else!
The staff at this salon is AMAZING!! had gotten my nails done at another place, which I will not share the name of. I had received just a standard manicure, not the no-chip. After driving for over an hour, my nails still werent dry. I stopped off the road and ran into Magic Nails. The only thing I could think went wrong from the other salon was they used a no-chip top coat, not a regular top coat. One look at my nails and the gentleman on staff agreed this was the case. They let me use their curing light and gave me a top coat fixing the mistake the other salon made. And he wouldnt accept any money for helping me out! Of course I left some though! The gentleman that helped me was sitting with a client when I walked in and the client was gracious enough to let him step away to assist me. Just overall such a great experience the five minutes I was in there! Good people working at Magic Nails!!! Thank you again for your help!
Dipped powder nails (4) broke within week I get them fixed yesterday and today get a charge notification when I was told I didn’t have to pay. Did not receive a receipt and was told I was okay to go, so I’m not sure why the next day my card is being charged without my knowledge or approval.
Had a pedicure which was great. The person I had was very detailed and took her time to ensure my feet and legs looked like new money.
Tyra is the best! She does a fantastic job every visit. She suggested a French dip and my nails are beautiful...just as I wished for.👍
A good place to get your nails done. I would say the pricing is mid-range. My only negative observation is that although service is never bad, great service depends on the technician you get. This is especially so when it comes to services like no-chip manicures. The good thing is that they are willing to fix any mistakes.
Nice looking place but poor quality manicure. My no chip lasted 7 days. Went in and they said they could fix it but it wont look the same. Then they said they could do all my nails for $30. No thanks not throwing more money away.
I had Kim. She did not speak english but was very good at what she did. This place is so close to my house that I cant believe I never noticed it before. Very cheap too and decent~ !
The service is good, very clean & not crazy noisy
Was recommended Magic Nails by a close friend so I gave it a try. First time I went there, service was okay and thought my no chip looked presentable. However, my second time at Magic Nails, a very young technician half assed my no chip manicure and I had chips after two days on almost all nails- quite disappointing especially since it was for a special occasion
Super friendly staff! Great job, never any complaints! Fantastic place to have your pedi/manicure!
Received a full set of acrylics and broke within not even a week an a half. Too expensive for the cheap quality. He didn’t cut my nails nor put cuticle remover or push them back. I got a pedicure too, toe nails already chipping. Do Not Recommend!!!
Love it
0 stars Had an appointment today at 10:30 called 5 days ago to book. They told me to wait in my car for 5 minutes then told me they made a mistake and I would need to come back later. Why overbook or let people in who didn’t make an appointment! Very disappointed will not recommended anyone to come to this magic nails location!
They did a nice job. Located in the Brookhaven shopping center. Tips are cash only.
I absolutely love this shop. Their customer service is exquisite and so comfortable. If u make an appointment you get right in not unlike other places that make u wait when u have an appoinment. You definetly get what you pay for the prices match the quality and service. I love coming here. Fully staffed as well. If you need a nail place go here I promise you wont leave disappointed. I live an hour from this location and take the trip. My nails always last and im always happy at the end of my visit
I am 48 yrs old 1st pedicure and manicure. Loved it!!!!! They are awesome!!!
I used to be a Magic Nails customer (several years) so when I saw l they were expanding to Burr Ridge I planned to be a regular. However the one time I walked in to schedule a mani- pedi the woman who was at the desk may have been angry over something else and was dismissive, rude stating they could not schedule me (all the staff was sitting idle, no client traffic) and offered no slternatives so I left wondering if it was my gray hair that emboldened her to be so rude. I do not anticipate giving them a second chance.
Great service and polite technicians. Ny manucure wasnt a no chip but lastrd just as long
Very clean and Professional. Love the service there!
Always great!
