When the repair tech came to replace the thermistor, he did something to the hoses, and when the washer was on the calibration cycle, gallons of water came out of the hose onto our floor. When I called the tech to come back, he said he would after he finished his next job, but he never did. It is still not fixed, and I have water damage on some things that were on the floor.
It took weeks for them to come out and repair my non working fridge. The technician was very friendly. This is not a complaint against him. I was charged $650 to replace the compressor. Hours later it was still not cold and flashing an error code. I have already paid for a repair that did not work, but now I still have to wait over two more weeks to get them to come back out and fix it correctly. What a joke. Feel like I just threw my money away.
It was a nightmare. Initially scheduled out approx 3 weeks, Tech came out, ordered part. Part comes in a week, schedule tech another week out.Wrong parts, tech ordered more parts. Parts come in another week, tech comes out within 2 days. Finally in working order. Took approx. 5 + weeks total. There is a reason why Sears is bankrupt.
Total repair through warranty took 10 weeks. Would not recommend. With the amount of money I spent on a going to the laundry mat waiting for warranty to come through I could have bought a new washer, from someone other than sears of course.
Tech was great . On time and neat. Quick and good at what he does.
I contacted Sears to replace the cooling fan in an Electrolux range. They came out and gave an estimate of $505.20, stating it would require two technicians to do the repair. They require that you pay most of that immediately, or else youd have to pay another $149 diagnostic fee for them to come out again and write the order. Ok, so for that alone, I would not use them again. The day of the repair arrives, and there is only one tech, the 2nd tech is a no show. So, I have to be the 2nd tech. And it was a good thing too, as the tech had no idea how to disassemble the range to get to the cooling fan. After an hour of helping out (and missing work to do so), the repair was complete. The tech was required to collect the remaining balance, but he agreed that I should be credited back for at least half of the labor cost. So, I called to secure the credit. They took down all the notes and agreed to credit back $138.90. Three weeks later, no credit, so I called back, and they assured me the credit would be there within 10 working days. Three weeks later, still no credit, so I call back and was told my refund request was denied by management. I asked for a manager, and 40 minutes later, was again promised I would receive the credit within 10 working days. It is now nearly 3 months since I first called for the credit, and still no credit. Today I filed a dispute against the charge with my credit card company. I will never use Sears again for anything!!
Pretty unprofessional when a company requires a 24 hours cancellation from the customer, but A&E is able to cancel an appointment last minute with the earliest date to reschedule being 9 days out. Were going on three weeks with no freezer and now have to wait an additional nine days.
The repairmen were very good. They cleaned up after they completed the repair. The washing machine is running great. Excellent job
Called and explained problem; should have been instructed to unplug the unit 2 days prior to tech arrival. Tech arrived and could not do anything due to ice build up. Said we need thermistor, a part costing about $40. He didnt know which so he ordered 3 parts. What arrived were 3 $12 wire harnesses. The second tech came, installed a wire harness and left. 24 hours later, the fridge and freezer were still warm. The freezer was working before, so he made matters worse. Now we have to wait for a 3rd tech. Overall, 6 weeks of wait for something that should have been fixed the 1st time. The cross-sell on your customer service line is a horrible experience - press 1 if you are over 50 sent me immediately to someone trying to sell me lifewatch. They were belligerent when I said I had no intention of purchasing lifewatch and would not transfer me back.
This one appointment was great, tech was on time fixed issue and reviewed and fixed another issue he found.
Truly the worst experience possible. The Technician was so rude that we didnt feel comfortable having them in our home to repair the issue. Customer service was NOT helpful at all. Would NOT recommend.
From start to finish, my experience with Sears Appliance Repair was great. I was able get an appointment right away, and the scheduler remained in contact with me to ensure I was receiving great service. Also, the technician took the time to show me what the problem was and had my dryer fixed rather quickly. Basically, each person that I interacted was courteous, knowledgeable, and flexible. Thank you Sears! I would highly recommend Sears to anyone.
The technician was great, he was on time and polite. The trouble was he was given misinformation about the fee and that it should have been covered by my original warranty because this was a follow up call. Also, they are not able to fix the issue with my dishwasher or the noises in my refrigerator.
The service Tech was very good, all 5 times he was here to fix our no ice cube problem. This entire experience with Sears Repair was painful. First and foremost dealing with the person(s) on the phone to make an appointment was very, very difficult. At first she could not find us in the system even though every appliance in our condo is a Kenmore (for now anyway).Their system is broken folks from the not able to understand reps on the phone to reps who struggle to find you in their system.During the 5 repair visits, the Tech, Bob would call and explain the problem to some other Tech on the phone and he would tell Bob to order such and such a part. So part after part was installed and still no ice cubes, just crushed ice. Finally Bob got someone who knew what the problem was so he went and got the part the same day and bingo, problem fixed. This entire process took 2 months and a good 20 hours of my/our time to wait for and be with the Tech. I tried to tell one of the ladies on the phone that our time is valuable too??? Wouldnt you think Sears would offer us something for our time after 5 visits to finally get it right???I did feel sorry for the Tech who stuck with us the entire time. He was super!!We like our Kenmore appliances but after this experience we will probably look at another brand in replacement.
Id leave zero if I could. Scheduled for a 1-5 window for repair. Had to get ahold of them to find out a better ETA @ 4:30. Their response was he would be at my house by 6. Not okay maybe update your future customers that your technician is running late. Dont do business with them. No wonder why Sears is going out of business.
Tech came out a few hours late. We understand, thankful jmhe came. We ordered part and paid for complete repair in advance over $300, scheduled a return visit almost 2 weeks later. Part has been sitting here. Today, was our appointment. I took off work, just called to verify timing as we have heard nothing. Only to find out, it has not been assigned. I need to please wait up to 2 hours, to see if someone will even be coming out. No guarantees. Meanwhile, I sit at home off from work for what might be for nothing. So, beyond frustrated. A message letting us know the situation would have gone a long way. Re-scheduling before I am inconvienenced would have been appreciated. And we were planning to do their maintenance plan. No thank you. My time despite how they feel, is valuable.
The repairman was very much in a hurry, but very efficient. He knew exactly was he was doing. When I asked if I could watch, he said if I stayed out of his way, which I did. In the end he gave me good advice so that I shouldnt have the same problem again. When he came he said he would have it running in 20 minutes, which he did. Five stars are not too many for rating the repair!
We have had at least 6 service calls on our ge microwave. The service man we have had on the last 3 was outstanding. Quickly identified the problem, ordered the parts, installed them then ordered new screws to fix what should have been done at manufacturing.
I can count on Sears to cover, maintain and repair all of my appliances. The cost of the insurance covers all repairs! The service man was knowledgeable, quick, courteous, efficient. Thank You!
The service technician was friendly, professional and neat with the work area. Only criticism I have is the information he enters on the ticket stating the owner said the other person using the treadmill is at the weight limit rating for the machine. That is not precisely correct; the person second person using the machine is 12 pounds below the published weight limit.
Virgil did a wonderful job of examining our dishwasher, analyzing the problems, and explaining our options for repairingour 13-year-old machine. In the process he gave gave us lots of great information about dishwashers. We decided not to have him attempt any repairs and purchased a new dishwasher.
The genital-men that came to take care of the A/C units were very net in appearance, and were very professional. I asked them if they had feet booties so they would not get my new carpet dirty and they did . It also was a plus that they had good attitudes as well and they made it a pleasant experience. If I have to call for service again I would hope that the next set of guys that show up are just like them.
Very well done. Professional, respectful, and focused on his job.
I will never purchase another Kenmore appliance! I purchased a French door bottom freezer refrigerator about 9 years ago. It was manufactured by the illustrious LG company. What a joke! LG stopped making the Ice Fan in 2014. Only six years after manufacturing the refrigerator. LG and Sears Kenmore must expect consumers to purchase new refrigerators every 5-6 years. My last refrigerator, a Frigidaire, lasted 25 years. Thats quality plus!! On another note my LG smart phone is also on its way out.Guess the life expectancy of ALL LG product is short lived. No more LG products for me. Back to AMERICAN made products !!
The Service Technician was absolutely super. He taught us things about our dryer and washer that we did not know before.Thank you so Sears for having such a wonderful technician on your staff.
Sears did not contact us until the day before the repairman was to arrive and they did it via email. I did not check the email until a day later and by that time Sears wasnt going to send anyone because they didnt hear back from me. I planned my day around the repair and had to cancel my holiday plans due to the fact they couldnt send anyone until later in the day. A phone call would have been more appropriate as they could have left a message. Not everyone sits at their computer continually but people do check phone messages regularly. SEARS DEFINITELY NEEDS TO RETHINK COMMUNICATION PRACTICES WITH ITS CUSTOMERS. That being said....The repair man was exceptionally nice. Took off his shoes when entering the house, was polite and thoughtful, and did a good job on the repairs. He made up for the frustration.
The technician was very friendly and did a great job fixing our refrigerator. He arrived on time and took care of everything. Would definitely recommend Sears in home service.
Friendly, courteous and did the little extras that were necessary. Even made sure to protect the driveway when changing the oil! Mower runs as good as new!
Repair service person was great as usual. It is the lemon law policy with your warranty, this is deceiving and misrepresented by sales people. I found out after 7 house visits for repairs on our micro wave the trick is you have to have 4 parts replaced within a 1 year of the warranty, not ajustments. I should be getting a replacement by now. We have missed 4 hours waiting with each repair not to mention taking a whole day off sometimes. I have called, filled out you review comments, been put on hold and just hung up on while waiting, what about our time. I have now had 3 parts replaced since April 7, 2015 and if I dont have another part replaced by Apr.7,2016, no lemon law will take place. This is a repeating problem with the micro wave almost 2 years now, so we will have to call again, but if no part is replaced no lemon law. We spent $7000. on all appliances bought in May 2014, this is a rip off policy and very tricky if you dont get the full story when you purchase. By the way it is Whirlpool product wont buy that again either. Enough is enough!
The repair technician you serviced our fridge was great! He was very knowledgeable, efficient and professional. We are very glad we went with Sears to repair our Fridge and will use them again in the future if needed.
Re: DishwasherScheduling a warranty appointment was a nightmare!!! Who hired these people to schedule appointments? IT IS NOT WORKING!1. Could not get a combined washing machine & dishwasher appointment (1 appointment for both appliances). I had a combined appointment last year.2. Could not get evening or weekend appointment for the dishwasher. VERY INCONVENIENT WHEN PEOPLE HAVE TO WORK.3. Called 5 weeks in advance to get an appointment - nothing was available. Had to book 8 weeks out to accommodate Sears schedule, with no consideration to my inconvenience.4. Had to give up my last day of vacation to work into Sears schedule; Sears did not accommodate my scheduled.5. Went to the Burnsville Center Mall to talk to the appliance dept. manager to tell him of my experience - he said he would check but never called me back.7. The technician was considerate enough to call me to give me an ETA, which Sears would not do.8. The Sears sale staff need to advise customers when they purchase a warranty plan to anticipate issues when scheduling appointments. NEED EVENING & WEEKEND HOURS.What happened to pleasing the customer & accommodating their schedule? Bottom line is - I will probably NEVER buy an appliance from Sears again due to my experience this year.
Very professional and knowledgeable, they were able to diagnose and repair in timely matter, the only complaint is on first trip I ask to have compressor and coils clean off from all the dust and lint, they said they would do it next trip when they installed the new parts, well they forgot and I wasnt there to remind them and it didnt get done, this was important to me, because it effect efficiency and energy consumption and help unit run cooler and smoother.
HORRIBLE. Had compressor replaced the day before and fridge/freezer still not working. Freezer was at 25 degrees (should be zero) and the tech told me your freezer will not get to zero told me to put some food in it to help it cool. He did nothing but tell me complete bull. I had to schedule another appointment for a different tech to come out and assess what was wrong! I am still in process, its been 7 appointments and ONE MONTH and still do not have a working fridge or freezer! I have never been so MAD and FRUSTRATED.
The whole purpose of this service is to get you to sign up for their warranty plan. I told them before they came out that it was a plastic water hose in the back of my refrigerator that was leaking. A line on the outside of the refrigerator. They charged $99 to come out and tell me what was wrong. Then told me labor to fix the leak would be $361. But he didnt have a replacement hose with him, so this was to simply cut the line and put a piece in between to repair it. Outrageous!
They basically did a bait and switch and signed us up for a warranty plan when I asked 3 times if 129 was all I would pay, did not say anything about a monthly service charge. Customer Service is absolutely horrible transferred to 3 different departments before they finally cancelled it, each time trying to push the warranty plan and basically not listening at all. They also had to come out 3 times to finally fix it over a course of a 5 weeks. They also tried to cancel my initial appointment when I took the day off to be there for their 4 hour window. Its almost as though they act like they dont need your business, and if they keep it up they will not because they will be out of business.
I described my issue with the person on the phone. Turns out there was a service flash on my problem. So the guy shows up 3 weeks after the call and confirms that, yes, it is indeed the problem. He didnt bring any parts to fix it however. So had to wait another 3 weeks for his return to get it fixed. This is on my riding mower, so Im 6 weeks without a fix during the late spring. This does not seem very efficient to me and the poor service tech that had to come twice to my residence. It doesnt make any sense to me and is pretty poor. The tech was excellent, however. That is why Im giving a 2 and not a one.
On time. Technicians were pleasant and courteous.
The repairman was great. Know exactly what was wrong with our dishwasher and was very through also checking our unit for error codes. He was excellent
If I could give this service 0 stars I would. A complete rip off! Repairman didnt know what he was doing. Told me my outlet was bad and didnt even look at my dryer. My outlet was fine, he just didnt know how to use an ohm meter.
The repairman was courteous, efficient and very helpful. He answered questions, made good suggestions, and even demonstrated how we could more easily clean the door of our range.
Sears repair person was knowledgeable and friendly! Its nice to know that great service is available when you really need it most!
Incredibly poor service. Very nice tech - but after waiting weeks for an appointment we finally got someone here and they diagnosed what was wrong and needed parts. Parts came quickly but it was weeks again before they could have someone here to install. He installed parts - left and the dishwasher still does not work. Called them back... STILL waiting for someone to return. I have had a broken dishwasher for 2 months. This is just SUCH bad service - could not rate it lower.
The technician was very thorough and very professional. Answered all of my questions and did a great job.
The tech was very knowledgeable and super kind as he answered all of my stupid questions. The washer runs fine now.
Terrible experience. First they moved my expected window the day of repair to 4 hours later. I called and complained, and was told Id receive a gift card that never happened. Technician came out snapped a plastic piece back into place and charged me the full service price of $150. Such a rip off. Never using their service again.
It was excellent. My repairman was courteous and very knowledgeable. Thank you for your service.
Took 3 trips. Service people did not have some items needed to make repair, they all wanted to order more parts to make it easier for them, and then having to schedule another visit. I made final repair myself.
Excellent work. Guy had a helpful attitude and friendly personality. Couldnt have been better.
The dishwasher repairs was done quickly and accurately! The repair person was on time, knew his stuff and accurately tested and repaired the washer.
He was fantastic! Not only fixed the problem but had several suggestions on how to avoid it again and how to fix it myself if it ever happened again. Certainly going to call Sears again.
Jose, did a fantastic job, courteous, did a professional installation of the parts and left with a smile and we were happy with the work done.
Could not get an appointment window less than 4 hours so would end up wasting my entire morning. Then, on the morning of the appointment, find out that even though I scheduled for an 8am to noon window, the expected technician time arrival was listed at 11:30 to 1:30 PM. What, do they think Im going to waste almost an entire day waiting for them - and then the time to assess and complete any repairs??!!! Sears repairs ... this was the last straw!!! ZERO stars!!!! On to a new repair service company ...
The first visit, the technician did not have the correct part in his van. He ordered a part, and came back 2 weeks later. When he opened the part that was shipped to my house, it was a REFRIDGERATOR FILTER, not a dryer part ! He ordered another motor assembly, and said it was being shipped on emergency status. 2 days later the correct part showed up, and then I get a phone call from Sears saying they would show up for my new appointment which I NEVER MADE WITH THE TECH ON HIS 2ND VISIT ! How do you just make an appointment at a customers home without checking with the customer to see if they will even be available ? Now, I had to change my plans AGAIN to be home for Sears 3rd visit to my house to fix my dryer.VERY DISAPPOINTED SEARS ! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE !
The serviceman did a WONDERFUL and thorough job of cleaning up and fixing the dryer. Thanks for his work!
Technician was prompt and knowledgeable. He knew right away what problem was . A correction was made to the design and this should resolve problem with refrigerator. The cost to corre t a design issue was extremely high tho.
Very good service. Appreciate advance notice of arrival time.
Knowledgeable, Efficient, Curious about ways to fix instead of just assuming they knew what was wrong, Upbeat
The repair guy did absolutely NOTHING. he looked at my water softener and told me it was not worth fixing. He did no trouble shooting at all. When I first came in he was looking at the water HEATER, I had to tell him that he is there or the softener.
On time arrival, quick assessment, lawn tractor fixed! Would highly recommend !
Technician OG49863 is professional and there are no problems after he repairs the dishwasher.
Great service by guy who showed up but shouldnt take 2-3 weeks for service - terrible that way
The person that came out and did the work was fast, efficient, courteous and did the job right. The dryer sounds and works better than ever.
He did good job! Answered to my questions in polite manners also. Thanks.
Technician showed up on time, made the correct diagnosis, had the correct part with him and completed the fix.
The repair man was very persistent with getting us what we needed for our malfunctioning refridgerator. He came to our house for the same issue many times and always was polite. I could tell it was difficult for him to persist and navigate the home office questions and recommendations for the problem but he was persistant with what was needed which was a replacement of the entire refridgerator.
Took off time to be there for the 4-hour time slot promised. At the end of the four hours, the service rep, who could barely speak English, called and said he would be two hours late. I couldnt wait any longer and the problem appeared to have gone away and I was moving, so I cancelled the appointment. However, the service rep instead recorded that he showed up and we werent there. For the next two weeks, I got literally dozens of phone calls and emails stating that it was critical for me to contact them about rescheduling the appointment. I called and repeatedly explained what really happened, and they always said thats not what their records said, but never corrected the records.
We originally called because our dryer wasnt heating. The technician replaced the heating element but left a wire touching inside the dryer so it started blowing fuses and caused the motor to burn out. Now we have no dryer for who knows how long because the part is on backorder. HUGE inconvenience!
He was very thorough, found the problem, corrected it in a timely manner and checked other things on the dishwasher as well. Was very happy that I didnt need a new machine.
The repairman who serviced our dishwasher was outstanding. We were told that we needed a new sump assembly, but unbeknownst to me, we were sent the wrong part. When the repairman arrived and discovered that, I assumed I had another 2-week wait ahead of me while I waited for the correct part. However, the repairman removed the old assembly and took his time looking it over (something the original repairman--from a different appliance store--hadnt done) and determined that the problem was just a bad clamp, which he was able to replace on the spot. He also took extra steps to ensure that the problem didnt happen again. He talked me through the whole process and showed me what he was doing, and I felt very confident that my dishwasher was repaired correctly. The only reason I cant give my experience 5 stars is because my repair was scheduled for 2 weeks after the time I called in. I dont know if this is standard, or if I was put at the bottom of the pile because this repair was covered under warranty and therefore free. Two weeks is a long time to be without an appliance that I use every day.
Refrigerator cools, freezer freezes. But a new rattle noise has been unleashed with this repair.
Absolutely the worst customer service on earth! My dishwasher was not working and I have the Sears Appliance repair plan. I called for service on April 30th and the first scheduled appointment was for May 11th. I protested to no avail. On May 10th I receive a conformation call about noon for the scheduled repair and then later in the day they call to cancel and tell me I am rescheduled for May 20th. After many phone calls and a trip to Sears to try to resolve this I was ready to explode. They had also sent me a e mail about the cancellation and the reason for the cancellation was stating that they did not have the parts needed for the repair. (they had not even looked at the dishwasher so how would they know what parts are needed?) On one of my subsequent phone calls the customer service rep had told me the reason for the cancellation was the technician could not reach me by phone (an absolute lie! I received a confirmation call and have the log on my phone!) I was a very loyal Sears customer but now I doubt I will ever set foot in their store again. Save yourself a headache and go elsewhere if you are looking for a appliance service plan or appliance repair!!!
Advice: try to diagnose your problem using the WEB before calling a repair company. And if you deiced to go the repair company path... DONT USE SEARS!!!I paid $85.00 for a technician to come to my home and diagnose what was wrong with my dryer. After about 30 minutes with him on the phone troubleshooting the problem he determined that the MCB (main control board) was bad. The parts and labor would be several hundred dollars and 10 days out. I decided to do the replacement myself. Once the new board was installed, the dryer still didnt work. Thru my own diagnosis and internet searching I determined that a $5.00 thermal fuse had blown. I replaced the fuse and put the OLD MCB back in and wallah! It works!! Called Sears requesting my $85.00 back for the incorrect diagnosis and they said NO... To Me, this is terrible customer service... for them not to refund me fee for the incorrect diagnosis they preformed will cost them at least $85.00 in bad word of mouth advertising. Stupid business practice.
Service tech was very knowledgeable and the repair was quick.
While the repair technician was polite he was unable to diagnose the problem or offer a definitive fix. Problem is still unresolved.
Rick fixed my double oven and had suggestions that he called in to the repair service on the refrigerator.
Awsome service and professional repairs - Will use again !!!
The technician called before him came and was on time. He was very pleasant and took care of our problem pretty quickly.
The repairman was great and fixed our issue
Prompt, knowledgeable, offered additional advice when asked, swift service. Thank you.
I called and asked to have my central air recharged. The service rep was here for half an hour, added 2 pounds of refrigerant, and charged me $330.00. Ill never use Sears again.
Best expierence by a repair center ever.
Good work and on-time too.
We paid the repair cost and then no working icemaker after the visit. Very disappointing indeed.
Timely, respectful, the gentleman who repaired my dishwasher is a great asset to Sears
7 visits by the repair tech over 4 months before they finally admitted they could not fix it and replace the unit. We have the master protection plan that is supposed to replace it after 3 unsuccessful visits by the tech but I guess that is only if they want to do it.
Quick, efficient, job well done! Thank you!
Fast and efficient repair service.
They had to come three times before it was repaired . The first guy didnt even call me until after 6 oclock at night and then didnt show up until 730 . The second guy didnt show up until after seven and he was the same one that came the third time . He talked me into having my runs clean from the dryer to the outside . I paid for all the work on the second time and then did not get the runs cleaned when he came on the third time . Not very happy about the service . I dont think the old agitator looked much different from the new one . This was a problem I had from the day I bought them and they are three years old or more . I think it should have been repaired under a warranty .
Prompt, pleasant and very helpful.
Shameful how you treat your customers . Your technician didnt show up here we waited till 8:30 PM at night even though he was supposed to show up between 8 AM and noon took time off work and lost a lot of groceries for my sons graduation meat worth $800.
Washer is still leaking like it was before :(
Over three months & 11 trips to my home and my dryer still does not work!I will NEVER buy another Kenmore appliance again. Poor quality products and even worse customer service. No one at Sears cares about the customer.
Repairman came by, installed the part supplied and got the dishwasher working again.
Very helpful.
$89 to tell me they couldnt help. Thanks Sears.
No issues.
Very good
Problem solved .....FANTASTIC !!!!!
Ok
Excellent
