Rivals CenturyLink for worst ISP Ive ever had the misfortune of using. My wifi wont even reach from one end up my apartment to the other!! And dont get me started on trying to update anything on my phone while connected to the wifi while Im in the same damn room as the router. I have to turn wifi off and use my network to download and update.

Absolutely the worst ISP I have experienced. Overpriced, slow, very unreliable connection, and customer service is non-existent. Service disconnects multiple times every day. I will never recommend Mediacom to anyone but they run monopoly on the Midwest so here is hoping you have good, local ISP.

Though it takes quite some time to get an appointment for installation, it was well worth it due to the excellent customer service we have always gotten. Tracey Helmick and Chris Walters bend over backwards to assist when help is needed. Even if you shoot them a textlate at nightwnight realizing exactly what the time is. Still super friendly and helpful. Thanks guys for making our experience outstanding.

Returned our equipment to the Burlington, Iowa office and was told I was due to get a refund. I was told that it would be 4 to 6wks to receive our refund. On the 7th wk, I called to check on the status of said refund as I hadnt received it yet. I was given the run around about how they needed our receipt number, time, date, account number etc. and again told it would take 4 to 6 weeks! Very unhappy with this, asked to speak to supervisor and was hung up on! They ccx are sure egar to remove the money from our bank account, but take forever accounting for promptly returning said refund!

I just dont understand why my cable bill is more then my utility bill? And at least the utility company will work with you if you fall behind. The first 4 months they charged me for services I didnt have, which I gave the benefit of the doubt.. mistakes happen, no big deal. But then they jerked me around for 3 months of calling them before they stopped charging me for stuff I didnt have, always being told it would get fixed immediately.. before finally actually getting it fixed at month 7 when they refunded me after yet again another call from me (it was to the point where I had a spreadsheet of what they should be billing me for, and what Ive been charged.) Then, after 12 months they almost doubled the cost without telling me they were changing it or what they were changing it to, which took me 2 billing cycles to figure out, and with a 7-day-notice policy it put me into a third billing cycle at the new rate. When I called trying to figure out why my bill doubled they told me that was the new price and I cant do anything about it to help you, so I cancelled my services.

Had it for a year and I live in West Burlington. Very good internet when it works. If it doesn’t, which happens multiple times a month - if not weekly, goodluck calling or finding somebody to assist you. Unless you go to their main office, which has a line longer than the foodbank - you’ll be stuck waiting for an automated response forever.And hey, don’t forget that they want to schedule a 4 hour window for a service. Even a doctor’s appointment doesn’t do that.Switched to centurylink which has slower speeds but consistent, never fails and almost always gets a person to answer the phone.

All I can say is someone has got to do better!!! When we lived in different states we had Comcast. This is the worst service for internet and cable. I have a big issue with my remote connecting to the cable box. I have to turn off my tv to change the channel on the box!!!! A waste of time, energy and money. I need to disconnect. Internet is always going out. Ive had techs come in to fix it and that day the internet goes out.....the only reason I have mediacom is cuz its better then the rest but still real garbage...my internet is out rite now. SmhUpdate: I have had it for awhile, I moved to a new place and got Mediacom setup for my new place and I have to, it has been working amazingly. A tech came out, setup a new line and called in my router. It hasnt went out once since its been setup. Thanx for the great service mediacomπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

The internet goes out at least once a day. Its slow and unreliable. For the past two weeks weve had horribly slow internet. Several times a day, it doesnt show that its out yet nothing will load. ( Confirmed by neighbors and friends its not just us) Mediacom holds the Monopoly here so it seems as if theyve stopped caring about their customers. They wont fix these issues in a timely manner, yet wont comp their customers for the issues caused.

Poor internet, resetting every few hrs today. I called to see if on my cable I could filter out the channels that I do not get, I was told to google my package and use it to make a channel list. so you dont care about the customer. only making thing hard for the customer to find the channels they have paid for, in hopes they will just get frustrated and buy ALL the channels !! I wish I could give you a zero star.. but post wont active unless I give you at least a 1 star !

To be honest I dont understand some of the complaints about Mediacom, but as far as my experience with them has been great. Granted, Ive never contacted customer support, but I live in a big household with a lot of family members who are constantly streaming videos and games and we have little to no issues. It all depends on the plan you have and what router youre using. I have a netgear nighthawk tri-band router that distributes the internet throughout my house perfectly. My family has never exceeded the limit cap the plan provides. I highly suggest mediacom as a service provider especially if you have a big family.

The worse customer service. I have tried for days to get credit for a modem I returned in July but am still being billed for. Finally got to speak to a PERSON, and was told she would out an order in for credit. (watch your bills as they do that when they want to) I asked to speak to a supervisior and now have been on hold, waiting on a supervisior to speak to me for 10 min. Wish I could talk to someone higher up. Finally got to leave a message, not the anyone will return my call...

They just disconnected my internet over a DMCA issue a year ago that I thought was resolved. Ive had internet for the past 6 months no problem until today. I cant even talk to the person I need to today, he works so hard he goes home at 330pm. If you can get decent speeds from another provider, by all means AVOID MEDIACOM.

Worst cable service ever. After months of complaining about being signed up for a package I did not choose, I had service stopped. Now I have no TV but I dont have a huge bill I could not afford. The sales rep was a no show on three different occasions with no calls or messages to say he could not come and then picked a plan I did not ask for.Thanks for all your lack of help and showing you dont give a damn about your customers or service. This is what happens when there is no competition.

They came to install it and their tech did a very poor job of installing their service. I will never use mediacom ever again their customer service and services they offer are that bad. I have never heard anything good about them but decided to give them a chance, worst idea I have ever had! I can not describe with words how completely disappointed with their service I am. Total garbage! Lost service signal and they said it was the modem. I replaced the modem, still no TV cable TV signal. Tried to exchange the Tivo box at the local office and they told me they dont keep the Tivo boxes at the location on the technicians have Tivo boxes. Next available service appointment is a week from now. GARBAGE!!!

Terrible customer service, got a new apartment, had an appointment set up a week in advance to have my service switched over, tech gets there and cant do the change because of a splitter on the pole not having an open spot. so them, knowing the hardwar that was out there and knowing it would need to be replaced before i got there decided not to do so, its been 3 days, lineman just came and replaced the splitter today, but they dont have a tech available until the end of the week, so now, i, an already paying customer am sitting here without internet to my house because they didnt think far enough ahead to maybe have a spot open to set up my service after the change over. sad thing is i wouldnt even be with them if they didnt manage to somehow still be the best available internet provider around, but the level of incompetence with internet providers in my area only gets worse so this is what im stuck with for now, paying a bill for internet i dont have. lovely

Worst costumer service Ive ever dealt with. I had an appointment scheduled for internet installation. When they called to confirm I answered but there was no response. I hung up and called back. They told me the tech had put my install on hold due to no anwswer...whatever ok...so rescheduled for next day. The tech was a no-show so i called again. They never put it in the system. I missed two days of work for this and they refused to work with me. Not a care in the world and very rude about it. Couldnt reach the tech assigned to the job and management wouldnt do anything but reschedule again. The fact that they put absolutely no effort into any of it and blew me off like they didnt care if i was a customer or not is rediculous. I refused to reachedule and will be going through another provider, one that appreciates its customers.

Nothing but problems. I wish my husband would have read reviews before jumping the gun and purchasing service with Mediacom, luckily we are not on a contract because we give up on them. NO ONE that we have dealt can get anything right, the technician that did the installation (if thats what you want to call it) was very unprofessional - complained the entire time about having to work so late, you will enjoy this story... our appt was set for him to be here between 8:30am and 9:00am (probably first appt of the day) we called at 11am and they said he called us & left a message at 10:08am to a phone # Ive never heard of, had them correct the #, said he will be here between 8am & 8pm. 6pm rolls around and we called again, had to have them change our # AGAIN, said that he should still show up. 7:15 the technician calls (the right #) asked if we were still wanting to do that tonight, should have told him to forget it and go with someone else, but we said yes. Shows up at 7:56pm didnt have the right info on the job, we were supposed to have 3 rooms hooked up and the job said only one. Since then its been problem after problem, its the worst cable service ever, I dont even know how they are still in business. TAKE MY ADVICE AND GO WITH SOMEONE ELSE!
