I would highly recommend this place! Charlie did an amazing job altering a bridesmaid dress for me on very short notice. He also suggested a great jumpsuit for the rehearsal. The dress turned out perfectly and he even did some minor alterations on the jumpsuit on the same tight timeline. I will definitely be a return customer!

I stopped into L & J Fashions & Tailoring with a tall ask of having a bridesmaids dress altered within 48 hrs. Charlie was kind, professional and extremely helpful. I walked out an hour later with a perfectly fit dress. I cant explain how big of a help he was and the finished alterations were great. I will definitely be coming back in the future.

I wanted him to hem two pairs of pants for me. One of the pants the hem was not equal length. Took them back and he seemed offended when I showed it to him but agreed to fix them and to come back 3 days later. Picked the pants up three days later and he had literally done nothing to them. Still the same miss matched length. So unprofessional. He messed up, just own it. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

It’s hard to actually find a legitimate tailor these these days. I found this awesome tailor online. Went to his nice shop and had him put some large patches on my leather motorcycle cut and he has always done an incredible job. I highly recommend this shop for all your alteration needs. I’m about to go drop off a sport coat I need tailored also.

Im so glad I found Charlie and his shop, L&J Fashions & Tailoring. I was getting married in a couple of weeks when I entered Charlies store for the first time. I needed to get my jacket sleeves trimmed up a bit, and he was the man for the job. Not only did he get it done in ample time, he kindly helped me trim a leather dog collar (TWICE, because I measured wrong the first time :/) for no charge at all. Seriously, you wont find a nicer or more talented tailor anywhere around. Highly recommend.

I bought a wedding dress off the rack about a month before my wedding. It was nearly two sizes two big, had a broken zipper, and the EIGHT skirts had to be shortened a few inches. He did this, over Christmas and New Years, in about a week and a half. Everything fit perfectly on the first try, and the price was very, very reasonable. I cant say enough!

L&J, owned by Charlie Green. Charlie is a true Craftsman with clothing. He can do what you want, how you want it. Tailors my suit jackets and sport coats, as well as my trousers. Tapers, reduces, shortens, slants, whatever you can think of. I found him about 6 months ago and have been a regular at least twice a month- since. He makes everything I own fit better. Says he will retire in about 5 years, Im trying to get everything Im going to need done before then!

5-star Tailor. This is an alterations and clothing store, with all work performed by the owner, Charlie. Tailoring clothing is as much artwork and construction, as it is anything else, and Charlie has a gift for it; he does superb work. He listens to what I am wanting, can visualize it with me, demonstrate it on the component I am wearing, pin & mark it, and make it come to life. From tailoring the perfect V for my suit jackets, to reducing my trouser size and breaking the cuff just right on my shoe-top, with that extra measure of coveted military slant that separates my clothing fit from the rest of my coworkers - Charlie listens, and he can do it! And if you dont know what you need, Charlie knows, and will show you how good it is going to look when it is done. I wouldnt go anywhere else!JD

I love this place. Alterations are always perfectly done, they also sell higher-end business wear for men and women. This store is a hidden gem. The owner-operator is very professional and knowledgeable about fabrics and styles. I always look better after shopping at L&J.

I took 4 pairs of jeans to l&j fashions and asked the owner to hem them to 29 inseam, they were ready the very next day so I went to pick them up, when I got home I tried them on and they were still too long so I called back and he said bring them back, no problem so I took them back, well this time he had me put them on he pinned them right where they needed to be and redid the hem at no charge and had them ready the very next day again, I had the most pleasant experience and he conducts his business in a very professional manner if you need a Taylor I advise you to try l&j fashions in Burlington n.c. you will not be disappointed and it is the cleanest nicest clothing store Ive ever been in

Charlie did an excellent job fitting and tailoring 3 suits and a sport coat that I brought him. Very friendly and knowledgeable about mens fashion, including manufacturers cuts, fabrics and styles.Had everything ready on time - even after I had to move up the date by a few days.

I’m not one to leave reviews, but my experience here was truly terrible. When dropping my bridesmaid dress off on a Saturday, I was told it would be ready that following Wednesday. When I was given my total before leaving, I was told that I was getting charged a percentage more than usual because he would be getting a card machine on Tuesday and it has a processing fee. I agreed it was fine because I would be paying with a Visa card. I didn’t make it in to pick up the dress Wednesday, but I left work on my lunch break to go in the next day. I was told that he didn’t realize the date on my dress and that it wasn’t done. He offered to lower the price and to have it done in 1 hour or less. I went to the Starbucks down the street to get some work done and gave him an hour and 15 minutes. I went back to the shop to find him sitting at his computer. As soon as he saw me, he went to the back without saying a word to me. I then heard him start sewing what I assume was my dress. I stood there for over 20 minutes with no acknowledgement. After trying the dress on I went to pay, which at this point I shouldn’t have even had to do, and he told me he couldn’t accept my card. I reminded him that he said he would have a card machine on Tuesday and that was all I had. I was told I couldn’t have my dress until I had cash or a check. I had to leave once again to drive to an ATM, get charged the ATM fee and buy something at the store to get change. I have never experienced such poor customer service in my life and was told not to return due to the attitude I gave after everything I put up with. After the great reviews I really didn’t expect the treatment I received. Check his Yellow Page reviews too, wish I would have before I stepped foot in this place.

After discussing my project of sewing together my cross stitch work into stockings, Charlie assured me he was competent to perform the work. After paying in full for the work on 8/9/21, he said it would be a couple of weeks before he would begin work on them. Weeks went by, with excuses of delays due to other “bridal” work, and I did not have the stockings. I visited the store often to check on progress, even leaving a completed stocking for reference. We discussed in detail the project, including the velvet covered cording around the stocking. After weeks of excuses, I finally picked up my completed stockings on 10/4/21. I was appalled at the shoddy workmanship: velvet cording not sewn correctly, uneven stitching, loose threads, scorch mark on back of one stocking, and overall uneven margins. His response was to say that the work was performed as instructed; I pointed out the stocking example I had left with him, to no avail. I was denied a refund. Buyer beware – read the google reviews that mention lack of timeliness, poor quality of workmanship, and nonexistent professionalism.
