Herman is a great tutor who really helped with my Geometry and study skills. The people are very nice and want to help you succeed. I recommend anyone who is struggling with school to give them a call.

My son has been with Sylvan for about 1 1/2 years. He changed from in-person to virtual 6 months ago. He LOVES it!! When he doesnt understand something the teachers are great and go back through until he understands. We no longer have to help him nightly with math (and no more tears!) He is confident in the subject and is really understanding how it all comes together. His grade last year was C and now he is getting an 98.7% in his MATH class.All in all -- I cant thank Sylvan and the caring teachers for these virtual sessions he is able to attend from the comfort of his home. He just told me he wished Sylvan was EVERY day! Who doesnt like to hear that?!

I went to sylvan starting around maybe 4th grade and I was a D or C average student and I’ve been there for years and I get As And Bs, I’m passing my quarters and papers and getting amazing feedback from my teacher notes! We are so grateful for Sylvan Normandy Park. We made the decision to homeschool this year and they have been a great resource to make sure our 1st grader stays on track and gets the extra time and help he needs. Hes made amazing improvement in his reading in a few short months. The point system is a real motivator too! He loves opportunities to earn extra points by doing additional work. This place is amazing, I went to Africa and came back and still got caught up! It all started one Monday mourning when my dad and mom called me downstairs they said i would be going here afterschool from then on. I was so happy I couldnt contain myself, since then ive had amazing memories at Sylvan Learning Center and amazing grades.

I have enjoyed my 5 plus years working at this Sylvan. The staff is very accommodating and quite friendly. The children and their parents are nice and everybody gets along so well. Its nice when you can come to work for a very long time and consistently be in a positive environment.

My son was struggling in both reading and math. I put him in with Sylvan for the math portion, because I have a hard time with math these days, and we would both end up frustrated. It has really helped. He is now more confident in what he is doing and is able to work through math without getting frustrated. I recommend this program, and definitely this location in particular.

From working at Sylvan Learning Center of Normandy Park of Burien, WA I have learned how to work with students ages 5 to 18 years old. I feel welcomed in this environment and, all the teachers are very kind and, professional. Sylvan brings a active fun learning environment to everyone. Sylvan has encouraged me to strive in my own learning as well being a Psychology major through re learning methods and watching the childrens growth in front of my eyes everyday.

This was exactly what are son needed to help him get up to speed a month before school started with his reading and writing !! The staff is amazing and they have great way to get through to the kids to make learning FUN !! I would highly recommend this for anyone who like their kids !!

I have nothing but great things to say about the instructors and staff at the Normandy Park/Burien Sylvan! I enrolled my 8 year old son not because he had any significant deficits, but rather because I thought he could use some extra instruction in handwriting during summer break. As it turned out, it was far more fun to do writing exercises as part of reading and writing comprehension. He grew more confident in his abilities and loved coming each week. So much so that once school started again, it was my son who asked to continue! The instructors are all experienced, professional and super kind with the kids. Lee, the center Director worked with me on both understanding the testing process and tailoring the learning plan for my son. Highly recommend!

I am a high school student. I have been attending Sylvan for the past 4 year. Sylvan has helped me from a very young age and has helped me develop new skills such as completing school work on time, and being comfortable with what you dont know. Ive become more confident asking a lot more questions.

Ive been going to Sylvan Learning Center for about 7 and a 1/2 years now. They stay on top of my school work, and how im doing. Since Ive been coming, my grades have been really good. Right know I have a 4.0 GPA. They dont only help with school work they do SAT Prep, and they help with my high school admissions letter. Without Sylvan I wouldnt be in the position I am academically. Ive made it on to honor roll and principles list every single year in the past four years of my middle school and half of my high-school career. Sending your child or teenager hear would be highly advised, this place is great when it comes to checking in on grades and prepping students for standardized tests and homework. Overall the praise I have for this establishment cant fit on paper, the way they set me up for high school and beyond is huge and without their guidance and checking in on my grades I wouldnt be acing and passing tests on a daily bases especially as a student attending Raisbeck Aviation High School. The center is highly advised for a boost or a little guidance towards getting good grades in school.

My daughter really loves the reward program where she can earn points for her work and spend them in the Sylvan store. Its the best incentive weve found for her so far and shes made progress in math too!

My son is 5 years old and has only been going to Sylvan of Normandy Park for a couple of months but has really enjoyed his time. He was having difficulty with his alphabets and his confidents with school.Sense we have started his teachers and his daycare have noticed a huge difference in his wrighting and his confidence with activities. We are so happy that we found Sylvan!
