In the past I have highly recommended Georgia Mechanical to dozens of people through Facebook and Neighbor groups but never will I again after my third and last experience. My ex father laws motor went out on his outside unit. I called to have them replace the known bad motor. Spencer the technician went out and verified the motor was bad and called to inform me that the motor was expensive through the manufacturer. I explained how the customer was a WWII veteran and was living on a extremely limited income. Spencer then told me to hang loose that he might could find one cheaper motor. He called me back and said that he found one for $91.00 which was less than half of the price from the manufacturer. I ask him about his labor charge because he had spent so much time researching a cheaper motor and he said no-he would charge full labor rate for the time he spent finding the motor. Well, that wasnt true. To change the small fan motor cost $425.50. Thats $91 for the motor and 4 hours labor at $85. per hour. It takes less than 30 minutes for anyone to exchange that motor! It really pisses me off because 1. I had only approved the repair up to $300 and they ran the card for $425.00 without us knowing. 2. Spencer clearly stated that he would not charge the full labor rate for the time that he spent researching the motor, which was a lie.
We got referred to GMI by a friend to help us install the HVAC system in our unfinished basement. Spencer was our initial contact who was incredible at brainstorming the project with me and going over a gameplan of how to be meet our needs. He was very honest about what would and wouldnt work and how we could do things to best fit our budget. We decided to move forward with them and they had a team out to install our system the following week.Ramone, José, and Mario did all our wire pulling and ductwork and I have to say they were a joy to work with. They went above and beyond to help me maximize my ceiling space and were very punctual and respectful. They took the time to walk through what they were going to do and ask questions to make sure it was exactly what I wanted instead of just assuming and throwing stuff up wherever. They even tidied up every night before leaving instead of leaving a mess everywhere.Spencer then came and did a final walkthrough with us and made sure everything was to our liking. All in all we had a great experience and I would highly recommend them!
Just wanted to let you know that working with you guys was a very pleasant experience. The dehumidifier is doing its job and I appreciate the professionalism from sales to installation. You can count on hearing from us with regard to our maintenance needs both here and for the condo in Athens.
These guys are by far the best A/C company weve dealt with in my 22 yrs of business. Professional, timely and clean up when theyre done. Really enjoyed all the team members as well.
I like the way Georgia Mechanical explains what they are doing and why. The risk of not having their maintenance program is penny wise; pound foolish. Great knowing that they are proactive in caring for air conditioning/heating systems. PS: Their Facebook posts are worth checking out.
Was told I had an appt Thursday afternoon by their office yesterday. As of 545p.m. No one showed up or called. When I called and got the woman on call, she said she would find out where the tech is and call me right back.. Its 8:51. Guess theyre not coming, or letting me know. Wish no stars was an option
Had an appointment for 8a and the tech didnt arrive until 9a. No one called. When I called customer service, they barely apologized and said they cant help traffic. They were not very nice or understanding. I almost cancelled but it was a Friday and I didnt want to have to start the process over again.
I hired Georgia Mechanical two years ago to do my Preventative Maintenance after doing it myself for 20+ years. They did an excellent job (I inspected their work after they left and it was done well). I had a HVAC problem on a Sunday and because I am a PM customer they not only arrived within 3 hours but the hourly rate was the normal rate even on a weekend. This spring I decided to change out my 20+ year old heat pump and once again used Georgia Mechanical. They did a great job, the unit is so much better than what I had previously and the lower electric bills are helpful too. Georgia Mechanical stands by their work 100%. That means a lot to me.
On time and did a good job
I am a commercial real estate property manager and have been for over 20 years. I use Georgia Mechanical exclusively at the shopping center our company manages in Atlanta. When our home unit failed over Thanksgiving while my husband and I were on a long vacation out of town, we had three companies bid a full replacement of the system and the duct work, including GA Mechanical’s residential division. We chose GA Mechanical for multiple reasons – price, knowledge and follow up. They answered all of the questions we had and even gave us honest opinions when we were considering a system that was more than we needed for our house. In addition, they gave us details on the financing options available. The work was completed in 2 days, with little disruption to us, everything was left clean and neat, and we did not even receive an invoice until they had come to complete a final walk though and sent a tech back out to make some changes to the system allowing more air flow to our downstairs and less to the upstairs based on our lifestyle. I would 100% recommend them for your residential needs!
Work well done but when it comes to supervisor and a couple staff very unprofessional in plant.
Excellent service
