I have been studying Martial Arts Under Master Kim for almost a year now and it’s by far the best program I’ve been apart of. He does not just teach martial arts he also teaches values that you can use in daily life. There is a family bond among the students and instructors. Very nice place to learn martial arts for kids. The master knows how to teach young students and the older ones really enjoy his lessons. He extends various opportunities for all grade levels, like how he offers jobs for more experienced Martial Art kids. You will definitely want to get black belt here, and you might even find yourself joining your kid!

So, if you are joining make sure to ask about the hidden fees that master Kim fails to mention. I had my daughter join his class to get her out of the house and move her body. this is not the first martial arts class I have used. previous to this location I took my my kids to a location in Lawrenceville. the costs were upfront, plain and simple. pay month to month, when you want to quit you notify the instructor and you are good to go. But not Master Kim, he will charge you a trial fee for the first month. (he does not mention its a trial fee by the way) after the trial fee then the price per month goes up. he takes your credit card information to automatically withdraw your payment every month without notifying you. I let that one slide and continued to take my daughter to his class because I did not think it was a huge deal at the time. He hands out higher belts like candy even if the students are behind. my daughter went up 3 belts in 3 months/2 classes a week each class lasts around 30 min within those 3 months my daughter missed 3 weeks a total of 6 classes and she was still moving up belts with the rest of the class. Eventually my daughter got tired of assisting. I let Master Kim know this in the middle of the month that I had already payed for (this leaves him with a full to weeks notice) He replied to me saying, that I gave him little notice and there would be a cancelation fee for the late notice (which again, was not mentioned to me in the registration process). With all of this being said I do not recommend this location to any one. These are kid you are teaching. So you make (hidden) contracts involving kids? news flash, kids change their minds all the time. This is a huge inconvenience. Word of advise, communicate to people your hidden feed and allow parents to make informed decision with the complete information provided.

We love being part of this family . We have both my son and daughter in Martial Arts . I have watched my son become a black belt and is now part of the Leadership Team . My Daughter is learning more everyday and now testing to get her Brown Belt . A Big Shot out to Master Kim 😊❤️I highly recommend taking your Children to a great place!

DMA is a fantastic place for your children to learn not only martial arts, but to learn important values and discipline for their lives ahead. The classes are amazing and each day provides the students with a different learning experience. Master Kim treats every student the same regardless of age or belt level. We have been a part of the DMA family for almost a year now and we look forward to every class and every day that we are there. Training under Master Kim for 8 years, I have learned not only Martial arts, but Discipline, how to carry myself humbly, respectfully, and to always be ready for any obstacle in life! I am incredibly glad that we found this Dojang for my son to attend. Prior to his joining, he was nervous to attend. During his introductory class, he was met by other students and Master Kim. By the end of the class, Master Kim had spent one on one time with him to determine if whether or not my son had the ability to comprehend what he would be taught in order for the lessons to be beneficial to my son. We originally signed up for the beginner class to ensure he would stick with attending. As his parent, I also felt it was important to motivate him to attend every available class. Seeing an improvement in his social skills, athletic ability and overall confidence we moved him up into the Black Belt Club, giving him more access to additional training. Martial Arts is like anything you learn. You MUST put forth the effort and practice. I have been witness to many students, young and middle aged graduate into new belts, which keep the engagement level high. Especially for the children. But I have also witnessed Master Kim tell students they are not ready for advancement due to the students lack of knowledge. With other options to choose from, this Dojang is easily one that helps keep the students engaged more so than other studios in my opinion. I have witnessed children get burned out by focusing on heavy tradition at other martial arts studios, and I love that this one is more practical. Master Kim and his team do an amazing job coaching up the students while teaching them invaluable life lessons. If you are considering attending, there is no harm in coming by and partaking in the trial course. After reading the negative review where Additional Costs where mentioned...yes, other costs are associated, but it is that way with most all classes/courses/sports/etc. There is nothing hidden, only additional activities that you can choose to be a part of or not. It is the same at every studio I am familiar with. If you are looking for a Dojang for yourself or your child, I couldnt possibly recommend this school anymore!

We have 2 children that study at this dojang. The staff do a wonderful job with the students, and the students are welcoming to new kids joining. Weve thoroughly enjoyed our time here, and wed recommend it to anyone looking for martial arts instruction in the Buford area.

A great place to learn discipline and respect while making friends along the way. After 8 years of taking classes under Master Kim and having no intention of stopping any time soon, I can honestly say joining was one of the best choices I’ve made in my life.

My son has made great strides with his strength and confidence since starting lessons here.

If you are interested in really learning traditional and modern martial arts this is the place to go. Master Kim is very passionate about passing on true martial traditions to his students and helping them develop into better human beings. Each student is encouraged to build on their strengths and shown ways to compensate for or eliminate their weaknesses altogether when dealing with a difficult technique or situation. There is a definite curriculum and belts are not just handed out but techniques are taught in several different ways to compensate for differences in strength, speed, flexibility, etc... A super heavy weight and a straw weight fighter are not going to do a particular punch, kick, throw, or submission the same way especially against opponents of different sizes and skill levels. Master Kim will help you find the best way to work through the ranks while learning the requirements in a way that fits your own personal abilities. There is a strong sense of family and community on the mats and the higher belts share their knowledge freely with lower belts and look after the safety of the class as a whole. Come in for your trial lesson, you will leave tired and happy.

Learning martial arts and just life skills under Master Kim completely changed my life. He has tought me dicipline, how to be less shy, and of course martial arts. After four years of learning under Master Kim, I plan to continue for many years to come. Choosing to learn at Dynamic Martial Arts was the best choice ever.
