I have been leaking engine coolant, and I was looking for a good mechanic to diagnose the issue. I checked reviews on Google and saw that Sweeney’s had pretty good reviews. I called and spoke to a real gentleman by the name of Phil, who told me that issue should still be covered by my powertrain warranty, and directed me to West Herr Ford. I had been stressing out about how I could save up the money to get it repaired, and now I have an appointment with Wear Herr next week and it will probably be covered by my warranty. Phil didn’t have to tell me it should still be under warranty, he could have just taken my money. Instead he did the honest thing. One of the biggest things people are looking for when they’re looking for a mechanic is honesty. It’s clear that these people are honest, and if I ever have an issue that is not covered by warranty and I’m New York, Sweeney’s is the only place I’m bringing it!

Cannot say enough good things about Sweeney’s garage. My coworker recommended them when the hood of my car wouldn’t stay down. I filled out the contact form on the website and they called within the hour. It was close to their lunch hour but he told me to come in anyway. It turned out to need just a bit of oil so the extremely kind gentleman that helped me didn’t charge me and sent me on my way. They’ve earned a customer for life. I felt so taken care of and that I was working with truly genuine, honest people. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I rarely write reviews, but I was compelled to write one for Sweeneys Garage because of their excellent work and honesty. I went to Sweeneys a couple weeks ago for a brake job and was informed my front two tires needed replacement. I had replaced all four tires the previous year before I found Sweeneys Garage and told them so. Phil, the owner, said he would investigate further and get back to me. He discovered the wrong tires were mounted on my SUV. He went above and beyond by providing me with the documentation and picture I needed as proof to address it with the business I had bought them from. As a result I was given four brand new tires, at no expense to me, because of Sweeneys quality of work and integrity. Unbelievably, I had just taken my SUV to a different garage to have an inspection and they passed it without question. (I had recently moved and live 35 miles away from Sweeneys garage now.) I am so thankful I decided to go out of my way and drive the extra miles to have Sweeneys Garage work on my brakes. Their knowledge, integrity and honesty was worth my trip. I will never trust anyone else. I cannot recommend a business more highly.

I called to ask about maintenance schedule because dealer was trying to get me to do a bunch of services. The manual says that I need to replace brake fluid at a certain mileage. They could have easily sold me a brake fluid change. Suggested I wait.

Sweeneys garage over charge you as hell.

Phil and the rest of the staff at Sweeney’s we’re so helpful. They gave me a thorough diagnosis of my vehicle and let me know what maintenance I can keep an eye out for in the future. The drop off and pick up of my vehicle was very safe and sanitary and to make everything even better they included a bottle of hand sanitizer in my vehicle when I picked it up. I have been out of town for some years using different auto shops but am so happy to be back and working with Sweeney’s again! 5 stars!

I have been going to Sweeneys for over 10 years for not only my personal vehicle, but for the fleet that I run. They are dependable, honest, friendly, and always ready to do whatever it takes to get you your vehicle back as quick as possible. My brother is a mechanic and does many of my repairs, but lives in Wheatfield. If I dont have time to bring it to him, I am at Sweeneys. I know that they will not only tell me what is wrong with my vehicles, but why, and how to avoid it in the future if possible. They are hands down one of the best vendors that I interact with, period.

In addition to the fine mechanical services provided by Sweeneys Garage, I have also availed myself of their capability to find particular cars for purchase. I recently asked Phil to help me find a particular type of used car for my wife. I was looking for a van but then changed my choice to an old Toyota Camry hatchback like the 1990 once I once owned. Phil was able to find a 1989 Toyota Camry hatchback with less than 71,000 actual miles in Florida. He checked out the car with three individuals by phone to verify it was as good as advertised. He arranged to have it transported to Buffalo, make the necessary mechanical fixes and got it registered in less than two weeks. Phils efforts surpassed my expectations. My wife and I got the perfect car in near pristine condition (no Buffalo rust) for a reasonable price with his assistance. Hands down best all around experience with a garage Ive had. It starts with how well they treat you from the moment you call, to taking the time to explain everything and listen to your concerns. I dont worry at all about unnecessary work. They have a clean and comfortable waiting area and are very accommodating to return your car after hours too. After an unhappy experience with a different mechanic, I drove my car right off of his lot and went straight to Sweeneys. Its the only place to go!

This was one of my better garage/repair experiences. They are very honest and accommodating. The part needed was not going to get there same day so they provided me a loaner car for free which was great considering i live about 30 minutes away from the garage.They seem very knowledgeable I would trust them with more complicated repairs.

Ive gotten my inspection done here and just recently had my serpentine belt replaced. I called made an appointment and then brought it in the following week. Repairs were fairly priced and they were done very quickly and honestly. Will continue to go here for any other needs I may need for my car, Phil and his staff do a great job and treat customers with absolute respect and decency. Sweeneys was recommended to me by a friend who did not have enough good things to say about them. She was so right! Phil and Anne have been amazing to work with. My sons car had a serious, very expensive issue. Phil helped me to understand what happened and why. He even called me and asked me to watch a video to help me out. In the past, I have often felt taken advantage of by mechanics who are always on the upsell. I just wanted honesty and great service. I have that at Sweeneys. I started going to this garage when I moved to Buffalo based on reviews that I read, and theres a reason that Sweeneys is so highly rated. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. The service is quick, convenient, and reliable. Ive needed new parts and tires for my car, and Phil and Anne have gone out of their way to find the best quality for my needs at a good price. Every time theyve given me a quote, the service has either been at or below the quote. They dont try to sell you extra things that you dont need, in fact they usually try to save you money. Someone at Sweeneys has always checked up on my car after a visit to make sure everything is working out. And if you have to wait on your car, the coffee and conversations are good.

My son attends the University at Buffalo, but we are from the Poughkeepsie area. Im a shade tree mechanic and usually fix my own cars, so when my son had trouble with his car and I am about 6 hours away I needed to find an honest and competent mechanic. I checked the reviews online, and Sweeneys Garage stood out. A rear caliper had frozen on the back wheel of my sons Accord and had worn down the brake pads. This is something that I would usually repair myself, but as I said Im 6 hours from Buffalo. I spoke with Phil, the owner and head mechanic and he understood the situation completely. He replaced the caliper, said that there was enough pad left for my son to come home on his spring break, at which time I could do the rear brakes and rotors myself. This got my sons car repaired and running safely, saved me some money, and convinced me that I had found a truly honest and competent mechanic! I almost forgot, they even gave my son a loner vehicle while his car was in the shop! Bottom line...Trustworthy, Honest,Affordable and great to deal with!
