Since I ship packages almost daily, I have been to many post offices. I’ve never had anything good to say. I’ve also never wrote a Google review before. But I was so pleasantly surprised with my experience here that I decided to make an exception. This location is not only open later than most, but the staff is friendly and competent. I never have an issue with tracking. My packages get scanned promptly and correctly.Whoever is managing this place is doing a great job. And the staff is a breath of fresh air.

They lost $20,000 worth of product from my business because they dont scan packages, then they get lost and I have to reship the items. Brought it up to them and they just said sorry its not guaranteed if we scan it.Not reliable

I stopped in to the Buffalo Grove postal office February 24, 2021 to mail a package. While being assisted by a professional young lady, she tell me how much and said I needed to fill out a form so stepped aside to do so. In the middle of the process a man came out from the office to lock the door and said I had to leave because the post office had closed. As a result the lady at the window was not able to finish mailing my package because of his demand.We were already in the middle of a transaction, not trying to start one after doors had been locked. This task should have been completed. The man was unprofessional and rude.

Called to check to see if they had anymore held mail for me. Whoever answered the phone proceeded to tell me they dont hold mail when you move. I told him I picked up mail at the post office last week. I asked to speak to the postmaster and he said he was the postmaster. I didnt believe him because he was soooooo rude! He proceeded to tell me again they dont hold mail when you put a change of address through. I said the woman I filled the change of address form with said it would take 2 to 3 weeks did I want them to old my mail during that time and I said yes and proceeded to fill out the form. This man was so arrogant and unprofessional. I am glad I dont have to deal with them ever again!

Its a sad sad post office, messy, dirty and unorganized. They never have any boxes stocked, the machine for do it yourself always has issues and the drop box is jammed. What a joke,, hire some competent people who care about their work

The customer service and the carelessness of this location is a huge disappointment. even way before this pandemic happened, I have had more than a Handful of packages listed as delivered to my P.O. box but nothing was to be found. Upon informing the clerks who work ther the response is always we will look for it why mark as delivered if it is not Actually delivered? I also had a handful of time sensitive benefits documents I was waiting on,, and through informed delivery, it was marked as delivered. I waited a couple of days then a week and still nothing. it took a month for me to get that mail! I had a package delivered, marked as delivered, and had to start a return for it because it was missing. once the company got involved to file a claim it magically appeared after 4 weeks of being missing. I will be using a different location for my mail. this is absurd. a few times I can understand, but more than half of my mail is never delivered yet marked as delivered.

I placed a holding my mail until today and selected deliver all mails to me today. I also got a remind email from post office . But the post officer only delivered todays mail not the two weeks holding mails. I tried to call the post office and found out no local office number listed.

This location gets 2 stars because the people working the front counter should not be held responsible for the understaffing and what goes in in the back/receiving. However as a paid PO box owner whenever I have a package delivered there, I am always requires to pick it up from the front desk while there are parcel lockers in the lobby for that purpose. Those lockers arent being utilized. I asked about that and the response I was given is it depends on who does them that day which to me sounds like lack of process follow through and laziness of the emplyees who are responsible for that.EDIT: After I filed a complaint with USPS here is the response I was given. Mind you there is no offer to resolve the problem but rather putting the blame on staffing which should be none of my concern. When you pay for a service you expect to have that be delivered on.Parcel lockers are a service provided to our customers who have P.O. Boxes. the parcel locker is used when a package clearly states that a signature or Return Receipt is not required. In the instance of low staffing levels, clerks may not have the time available to place a large quantity of parcels into the lockers, therefore requiring customers to come to the lobby. We do attempt to utilize the lockers on weekends when we know the lobby is closed, so that customers may retrieve packages in off hours.

Worst experience while applying for infant passport the person who is in charge of taking photos for passport do not have any experience.First they asked to lay down on floor and open eyes infant so he did then she took pictures but she does not have common sense or information that the instant need to ware a dark clothes to appear in the photo now second try asked to put the infant in car seat now it’s already been 30mins and the infant started crying Useless people with no experience are delaying with customer life during COVID .

I went to this post office several times over the years and the clerks are always courteous and helpful. I moved to Arlington Heights and the move forms were not available and the clerk was not available. I ended up driving to Buffalo Grove to do a move form Wheeling to Arlington Heights (not good post offices). BG Post Office is the best!

Staff here are so helpful, nice and pleasant to talk to. They even helped customers who arrived late with and smile. We have gone to the wheeling one, but after today the experience we encoutered at the Buffalo Grove location we will definitely come here.

The facility was satisfactory however in terms of customer service, I was extremely dissapointed. The rest of the staff were very courteous and helpful hiwever one staff member named Kevin gave me an absolutely horrid experience at the post office. Kevin an employee here shiwed himself as a very rude and inhospitable person. He has a very bad attitude and that frankly ruined my experience.

One of the 3 people working completely left the service counter when there was a line of 15+ people waiting. Not even worth a single star! Packages supposed to arrive yesterday. Status stays yesterday morning out for delivery. Package never delivered. No status update. Spoke to Ty and he was supposed to call back with update. Of course he didnt call back so I called! A new delivery person apparently and she is off today so they dont know what happened to the package and they cant call her because its her day off. And there is no supervisor around to speak to me. So someone will call me tomorrow. Zero customer service. Zero accountability. And as a tax payer...Im paying their salary...ugh!

I arrived at the back door of the facility at 6:50pm and planed to drop off some packages. The facility is scheduled to close at 7:00. I just drove 30 mins to arrive here and felt lucky it was in time. Meantime there was another truck just unloaded mail. The driver was packing up and planning to leave. A USPS employee who named Kevin came out and throw all of my packages back into the truck which I had unloaded from the truck and told me the drop off cut time is 5:15pm with very bad attitude. I understand it is after time if I drop off the packages at the loading dock but the door is still open and another driver who is a white man just unloaded a truck and still standing in front of me. I was so frustrated and felt discriminated, so I rise my voice to argue with him. He threatened me to call the police.I said it is fine if the back door is close at 5:15 I will leave my packages at the front. The front close at 7:00 for sure.I didn’t have a lot to mail just two uhaul boxes loaded small packages. It would not take a minute to accept them. All the packages are labeled and need to do nothing about them.When I drove my truck to the front he locked the front door and gave me the instruction to leave the packages in the unattended package drop off mail box and refuse to open the door to accept the packages. I arrived before the office is closed. He has no right to refuse my drop off.This man named Kevin tried several times to give me a hard time when I dropped off the packages with no reason. One time I left the packages in a empty mail cart. He came and blamed me :who told you put them there? ?It’s a common sense to leave packages in the provided empty carts. I did this all the time when I went to other offices to drop off the packages. No one blamed me for doing that.This office is the nearest to my home. I live around here.I understand it is after time. If he refuse to take all the mail I am ok with it. He is just a guy who worked by book? Why he let some one drop off but refuse my drop off?This happened before the new year. I had no mood to celebrate the NEW YEAR. USPS should teach their employees.

I would give them no stars if I was able to! I mailed out a package to CA on 6/4/19 which I wanted to go Priority Mail but was told Registered was the way to go by a postal employee. My receipt shows an expected delivery date of 6/4/19. The package is still sitting in Chicago somewhere and no one can give me any further information about it. I also had an issue 3 years ago when I went to have my daughter’s wedding invitation weighed so I knew how much postage to put on it. I put on what they told me, brought the invitations back to mail them and then was told there wasn’t enough postage on them! HORRIBLE customer service and many problems with mailing things from this office!

I went this morning at 8am to pick up a flat rate box from the 24hr area where the PO Boxes are located. There was not ONE box, not ONE envelope, not ONE piece of material that I could utilize!! Whoever is in charge of keeping the postal supplies stocked for customers must be a bit more diligent. Unless this area was completely robbed of its supplies last night...someone didnt check stock before they went home!

I go there pretty much daily and they are very nice people who work hard. They arent always cheerful about it, but my guess is that its not an extremely pleasant place to work. I know theyre doing their best, though. They probably dont get enough credit for all they do for us.

I love shipping with USPS due to the rates, but have had nothing but issues with my carrier and this office. I receive two to three priority delivers per week, and many times he never bothers to come to the door, although I have let me know that there is always someone home.No amount of calls to the post office supervisors.takes care of this problem.

As a resident for 20+ years, I was elated with the Buffalo Grove postal service when I first arrived. However, within the last.... I would say.... 15 years, service has been horrible. The original girl who delivered our mail on her permanent route was fast, friendly and consistent. All of a sudden... I dont know what happened???? Mail began to be miss-delivered on a regular basis. I also suspect that for a short time, mail was not consistently delivered on a daily basis and my street may have been occasionally skipped.... (but that seems to have since been fixed). On one occasion, I actually spotted an envelope on the ground, face down and soaking wet in the melting pile of snow (next to the multiple resident mailbox that has individual key locks for each resident) I curiously picked it up and was surprised that it was a mail from my dad with a $100 check that he had enclosed. Another time, a marked Priority Next Day delivery packet from the USPS was miss-delivered to my address by mistake. The correct address was actually the next street over with the same address number. The package was marked as TIME SENSITIVE and looked like it contained legal documents to be signed and sent back to the sender. On another occasion, my wife was concerned that we did not receive the gas bill. She called the gas company to ask that a new bill be sent but was told that payment was already sent. Turns out our next door neighbor had paid for our gas bill accidentally after finding the cancelled check.Other observations: One of the postal carriers is constantly on the phone while on the job every day. To whom could this postal carrier possibly be talking to non-stop??? And anybody whos been to the Buffalo Grove Post Office can attest that they will be greeted with THE worst parking lot in Buffalo Grove. Pot holes everywhere and some burned out parking lot lights were noticed after dark. Ripe opportunity for our elderly and handicapped residents to get injured.... just sayin.... (Every year, I worry if my Illinois License Plate Renewal sticker and vehicle registration will get delivered correctly. I should not have to carry my paid receipt as proof of compliance. Any customer of ANY type of service-dependent business should NOT have to go thru this type of service expectation)UPDATE #1: Buffalo Grove Post Office has made the effort to improve service by making carrier-staffing adjustments. This review will be updated as needed.UPDATE #2: As of the 2nd week of August 2019, I am delighted to see a proactive approach put forth. Buffalo Grove Post Office mail carriers are being monitored/coached via officially marked civilian vehicle by a post office supervisor. I hope this will result in improved residential mail delivery service. This review will be updated as needed.UPDATE #3: On Tuesday October 1, 2019 - The USPS carrier on duty was seen delivering the mail as I was walking the dog back to the house. Took the dog back into the house and went back out to get the mail. The postal carrier had left by this time. I have posted a picture of the contents in my mail box as I had found it. The mail was carelessly crammed into the mailbox without any regard to the importance of its contents. A neighbor on the same street has also confirmed with my wife that her mail was was handled exactly the same way. FYI: I was walking the dog (several minutes prior) through Russellwood Ct a block away. Same postal carrier had pulled up to the multi-unit mailboxes for Russellwood Ct. and stopped. Almost immediately, the postal carrier started to drive off towards the next set of multi-unit mailboxes without any indication of inserting mail in any of the mailboxes. (I suspect mail carrier skipped Rusellwood Ct due to being behind schedule and can deliver it on another day???) Again, this review will be updated as needed.

Horrible customer service experience on 12/17/18. There was a long line which was to be expected since it was a week before Christmas. The black female employee, I didnt catch her name, took care of me. As she was processing my items to be mailed, I had a question, but I stopped myself as I didnt want to interrupt her. I told her that I would ask her after she was finished and she boorishly said, I can walk and chew gum at the same time. Wow - couldnt believe I was acknowledged in such a poor manner. After she finished processing everything and told me what I owed, I placed the paper currency on the counter and directly handed her the change. She looked at me and said, I dont know if I should be feeling disrespected. I was quite perplexed as I didnt understand her sentiment. She proceeded to explain to me that she had her hand out and by placing the paper currency on the counter showed a lack of respect. However, because I placed the change in her hand, it made things a little less disrespectful. What?!! Are you kidding me with this?!!! I couldnt believe I was engaged in such frivolous nonsense. First, I had to deal with the walking and chewing gum at the same time statement and now this BS remark? I went there for one purpose and that was to send out a package and cards for Christmas, not to be reprimanded by a low-level employee. Needless to say, I was completely shocked and dumfounded as Im not used to dealing with people of her caliber. After the transaction was complete, there was no thank you, have a nice day or Merry Christmas (much less a smile) from her. I was going to let the incident go, but the following morning I was thinking about it and had to write this review. Seems to me this employee has a chip on her shoulder and will look for any underlying message that aligns with her agenda. As of late, doing simple errands in and around BG, such as going to the post office, has become a daunting task. BG, like many other Chicago suburbs, has really gone down in so many ways. I should know as I was raised here and have seen the steady decline over the last 10 years or so. I will never do business again in this rude and inner-city like post office.

I came to purchase a stamp for my return envelope of priority mail. The clerk there asked me to buy it at stamp kiosk. The machine printed out a stamp. I asked clerks there if I can use it on other dates, they all said yes. They told me this is just like a regular stamp. So I mailed it to a business in another state. But when the business mails it back to me, the post office there refused to honor the stamp. They said the stamp has to be used on the same date purchased. What kind of training Buffalo Grove post office received? For all these years, they still dont know this? And they told me this type of stamp cannot be refund. WHAT?! No wonder post office is things of past. I wont be sorry if it goes out of business. -A angry customer

I have a small business and usually use this post office at least 2 - 3 times a week. The employees do their jobs in the best way they can. I shipped over 200 packages last year and ALL have been delivered. Yes of course there were a few hiccups, but minor and always resolved. Deliveries to myself, which I receive a lot, are always delivered on time. I am very happy with my post office.Thanks for all that you do.

The laziest route delivery man Ive ever seen...constant recieve wrong mail, others recueve ous...if there is a car parked too close to mail box he will not deliver the mail....close, not blocking. What about packages? He gets out for those... bad attitude, lazy, lazy lazy...buffalo grove.

DO NOT APPLY FOR PASSPORT AT THIS POST OFFICE. The woman who handles passport is very very shady. Fee for the passport is $110 and fee for the moneyorder is $1.20 but this woman is trying to charge $120 until she realize I know about the fees. She also made one of each copies of my citizenship and driver license, she told me its 50 cents and when I gave her $1 she suddenly changes her word that its 50 cents for each copy. Im like LOL, yeah take a 50 cent as your tip. I never knew post office employees take tips from people. JUST KNOW THAT THERES CHANCE THAT YOU WILL GET RIPOFF IF YOU DONT KNOW ABOUT THE FEES WELL.

Incompetent to the point of disbelief. I have contacted the local post office management four times. I have contacted the main office at the 800-number twice. Nothing gets corrected. The representatives at the 800-number told me (can you believe this?) that it is useless to leave another complaint because it will just get transferred over to the local office, which as I already mentioned, fails to address the issues. My packages get damaged over and over again. Why? Because an incompetent delivery person keeps leaving them in a pile of dirt next to the driveway instead of taking them to the door. No repercussions. Typical government organization. I just made my 5th call about yet another soaked through box and not holding my breath about a resolution. Media will be my next step.

My mother lives in Buffalo Grove, and snowbirds for 3 months. She has done this for 5 years, and every year her mail gets forwarded to me. However, the post office does not know how to follow directions. It took 3 weeks for them to get it right and then when the mailman takes a day off the substitute is not informed and the mail either sits there until I drive to pick it up OR they send it back to the sender!! When will they get it right? And our tax dollars pay for this awful service.

This is the worst post office to go to. They are absolutely the least educated individuals when it comes to any issues or when you just need a simple passport done. Its unbelievable. So my passport was damaged because of their job to deliver it to the Chicago state of passport agency. And so when you do any passport it costs 135 dollars. I received a letter from the head office saying I am eligible for all my expenses to be reimbursed and then resubmit my whole passport all over again. Now the fact I got to waste another 4 hours doing this all over again. But not only did I have to do that. They told me it is not enough. I need to have another letter that specifically says their money order is damaged, on paper. Well on my letter it said all documents affiliated with the transfer has all been damaged. That means also the money order. They still would not comply. Now I also had a agent on the phone who was directly from the hotline and they said on the phone it was all damaged! Not only did they say again, we need it on paper they would not want to call the hotline themselves to their supervisor! Are you kidding me?! I even had the letter, supervisor, everything man! And they still wouldnt let that happen. Unbelievable. Worst customer service ever. Would not even do their job right. If I have the letter signed and in my hand, and a agent on the phone with their number on it, they denied me. Unbelievable. CALL THE DAMN PLACE AND YOU CAN SEE I AM ELIGIBLE. Its like you are talking to the people who will do the bare minimum for their job. God.

Horrible service, put a stop hold on my mail and they delivered my mail after the stop hold to some one other than us. A weeks worth of private mail to another house!Then I put a stop hold for 5 particular dates and they stopped it starting the day I turned in the yellow stop hold card! We were not scheduled to leave until the following Monday. Bad, rude customer service.

In the past 3 months Ive been having problems with the delivery of my mail. Since the regular mailman left,I dont get most of my first class letters, including pay checks,bank statements etc. On the top of it,lately few of my packages went missing, although for one of them showed delivered, but it never was.Ive talked to the supervisor many times, but every time the answer is, Sorry nothing we can do.Well I want my mail!Needles to say last week Ive had a call from my credit card about unauthorized charges, so now I have to go through a lot of BS. My mom sent a package with some of my boys cloths and some toys and stuff like that to me. She had the tracking notification on her side that the delivery attempt was failed and has returned back to post office. First of all, I was expecting the package and I was home ALL DAY LONG waiting for that package. Instead when I check the mail I had a wrong guys mail in my mail box. Ok, so I went to post office the next day, and asking if I could get my package. The lady named LULU was like I need the delivery ticket. Ok, I told her they never left one because I am pretty sure that the delivery person miss delivered to wrong house, since I was home all day and my mom got the message that the delivery was failed because nobody was home. I was trying to explain the situation but she wouldnt listen, she kept saying SIR!, I cant do anything without the ticket. So I asked her nicely, if you could please check the package if you have it. I had my driver liscense ready. She told me there was NOTHING in the back. she told me to go get the ticket. She didnt get my point, I dont have the ticket since you guys delivered to wrong house!!. Ok so I called my mom, who lives in overseas, and it was like 4 am there. I had to wake her up to get the delivery tracking number. So I finally got the number after calling her and waking her up in the middle of the night. I was waiting in the line with the tracking number. As I was waiting there was another person who was helping customers for pick ups. I raised my hand for pick up and he took me to window. He told me to see an id and he brought out the Package. He didnt need the tracking number whatsoever. I was ready to punch her in the face but then there were too many people. So on the way out of the office I waved her, Hello? I thought you didnt have the package. What is this ? the one im carrying? Thank you for much for nice customer service!!I cannot stand people like this, who gets payed without doing their job done. She even gave me attitude while i was asking nicely, she kept saying SIR?! I told you i cant do anything without the tracking number. I am SO PISSED!!!!

By far worst post office ive ever had to deal with twice now refused to pick up a daily scheduled pickup. When we call always give same excuse(someone called to cancel or we went and were told not needed)when we have two employees😑 and NEVER cancel our pickups. Second shift supervisor Lillian was the rudest person Ive ever had the displeasure of dealing with.Avoid at all costs

Dont get a passport here. Theyll make an appt but then send you out to Walgreens to take a picture because they dont know how to do it. They dont know the requirements for getting a passport even when you put the gov web site right in front of them. A bunch of incompetents.

The worse Post Office in the WORLD. The people that work there and the supervisor ( that gives bad example to his employees ) are lazy, very rude, abrupt, and NOT helpful at all.Make your self a favor and avoid the conflict and disappointment, and help for the closing of the store or change in all new employees.Tell everyone you know !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I requested a hold mail service, at the end of which I elected to pick up my mail. Living in an apartment, I knew a weeks worth of mail would overflow my small mailbox. I came home to find that the post office delivered my mail on the last day of the hold service, rather than kept for me to pick up, and the whole front of the mailbox of mine and my neighbors was not even closed. Additionally, when I called the post office to check if I had any mail that was left that I needed to pick up, the employee who answered was rude and treated me like I was stupid for asking.

I usually ..... send a package to my country and they returned it to me at my address .... and now they dont want me to return the money ..... its not fair .... now I keep the package at home and without the money ... that I pay for something that never arrived at its destination ... and a Chinese woman also works who is very discriminatory ... English and not in Spanish. And I will pay again ..... she is an old racist Chinese
