These guys are dinitely very helpful, honest, and customer oriented. I called and explained my son had issues with his car and my opinion. The mechanic literally took time to call for parts and give me a quote by phone. I thought it was a fuel pump issue. They troubleshoot the car when we had it towed and found it to be likely the key fob. We still tried to get a key on our own and it did not work. Lol. (Tried to be cheap). These guys made it work and programmed it. Out the door for a couple hundred bucks! Wow. He recommended a new battery @ $150.oo installed.. I said do it! I believe there is a trust built in now, so you should try them too.Thank you guys...Warm regards,Impressed customer

These are some of the friendliest and knowledgeable people youll deal with. They close at 6, I get off work at 5, and they are still so nice even though I sometimes have to come in 20-30 minutes before closing to get my car worked on. Super nice people.

My car wouldnt start on my 98 Toyota and Triple AAA referred me to here. I told Petes that it probably needs a new starter because it was grinding hard. I came back the next day and the owner told me that it was just a couple of bolts that needed to be tightened. Charged me cheap, good and honest mechanic.

This shop is very unprofessional. My car broke down and had to be towed there. They told me that they would be calling me after they get a chance to look at it to let me know what needed to be repaired and the cost associated with it. I didn’t hear from them for two days. Two days later, they call me to tell me my car is all ready to be picked up. Only I never got a call letting me know what needed to be repaired before it was repaired. I never gave them permission to work on my car they just called me with the balance I owed that I never agreed to. If that isn’t bad enough, when they called to tell me this, it was after they closed on a Saturday night. So I wouldn’t even be able to pick it up until Monday morning. When we spoke they also recommended I did my alignment in addition to all the work they had done without my consent. I agreed to do the alignment. On Monday late morning I never received a call telling me it was ready so I called and asked and they told me it was all ready to be picked up once again. When I get there, I asked them if my alignment had been done and he told me yes. Then walks away for a while and comes back to tell me the alignment was never done because there was a spare tire on. However, I had previously told them my perfectly good tire is in the trunk. So they tell me they would change the tire and do the alignment but it wouldn’t get done until much later this afternoon. I’ve waited all day and they have yet to call. πŸ™„

If I could give 100 stars I would, I shopped around before calling this place. I took my car 99 Lexus RX300 to have some work done on it, to my surprise the owner Pete makes his rounds, in the lobby, behind the counter, interacting with customers and in the bay areas making sure everything is running smooth . Last but not least the first man to welcome me is Scott he works behind the counter welcoming customers and answering the phone, the perfect person for this job, very out going, great personality, the best customer service skills Ive witnessed in a long time! He is a great person for this job and does it with ease, he represents the company and does a good job at it, please please if youre looking for a good auto care then try this place, I guarantee you want be disappointed and about 200.00 $ cheaper than others here in Bryan, Texas ! Wow. I was transferred to the services department so I could get an estimate on a complete AC kit....and I was very rudely told that they couldnt do that for me. After I told him Id called a couple other places and they were able to give me quotes he said hed try and asked the car make and model. Once that information was given to him, he again very rudely said nope, he couldnt help me. I dont recommend services here unless you want to be treated like sh**Update: I appreciate the response from management (and Pete himself is an awesome guy) but the people he hires to work for him are awful. Not the first time Ive been treated that way by his staff.

Horrible customer service! They had my vehicle for over 2 weeks. I had explained that I was from out of town when I dropped it off, was told on Thursday that it would probably be done that afternoon and would receive a call later that day. No call. Next day I drive in at near closing time, finally call them and they then tell me it would be at least Monday before it was done. The car was all back together but had to be test drove, and the mechanic who was working on it got injured and nobody else could do it. My dad called and spoke to the owner, who in his wonderful customer service ways, reported that they arent making breakfast there. Basically he tried to skirt around every scenario as those we both were stupid continually saying you just dont understand. Told me that when I came to pick up the car, they would show me everything. I saw nothing. Completely feel like they got $4550 out of me for a new, used engine that somewhere else would have not been the same outcome. Will NEVER use them again, unless of course the engine sucks and I have to go through the warranty process (which they will probably screw me on that as well!)

Knowledgeable folks; great work, fair price, finished on time. Pete and his staff explain what needs to be done, why it was necessary, and address issues that could arise in the future.Pete has serviced both foreign (German and Japanese) and domestic cars for me. Two months ago, I brought my wifes 2008 vehicle to his shop for work on a leak in the power steering pump. We have an extended warranty with the dealership but I believed the problem was beyond the scope of the warranty. He checked out the problem, reviewed the warranty, and suggested I call the dealership. He recognized that the problem was not straightforward and likely was tied to a larger system failure which he believed was covered by the warranty. I explained the situation to the service representative at the dealership using the information provided by Pete and they fixed the problem under warranty. I saved about $4,000.Bottom Line: Cars and car repairs are expensive. Knowledgeable and fair mechanics are priceless. Folks at Petes Auto Care Center arent perfect but they are knowledgeable and fair.

I took my car in for a coolant leak, and they not only fixed the leak and refilled the coolant, the fixed a faulty air vent free of charge. Pete even gave me a coupon for a free candy at the nearby gas station. They also have handled any routine maintenance Ive needed affordably and with great customer service.Youll never find a GOOD mechanic that isnt busy, but its worth the time it takes and I felt like they werent trying to take me to the cleaners money-wise at all (unlike most others); it costs what its worth! They offer things you might not need like all auto places (air filter, wipers, etc.) but they dont push.When I was selling my old car they fixed it up great and helped look over my new car, too. They overcharged us $1500 to β€œdiagnose” a problem that a shop around the corner would have hooked up to a real diagnostic instrument rather than filling with parts that β€œmay” help and then causing further damage. They were hoping we would pay them for a new engine and by β€œnew” I mean a used one for $7400.. Still think this is a great shop? They saw my daughter in a Range Rover and saw dollar signs. Shameful.

Very knowledgeable, compassionate and helpful! I am from out of state and while visiting my daughter for a few days, she needed some car repairs done. We looked on line and found a couple of local shops. Unfortunately, they were not able to help us on such short notice. I was a bit leary about Petes Auto Care because of some of the negative reviews--But also, I understand that sometimes there are just bad days and bad circumstances that make people write negative reviews. I know a little bit about cars and we had run our own OBD2 scan at home. She needed a temp sensor replaced, an exhaust leak located, the cooling fan also did not engage, and a state inspection. Jim told us they had room to look it over that afternoon. We had the car towed over and they went to work on it right away. The cooling fan and exhaust issue took a bit to track down, but Pete took such great care in educating my daughter and me on the repairs. He walked us around the engine pointing out the parts and showing us where the exhaust leaked. Cesar was able to get the car repaired and inspected before I had to leave the next afternoon. And he even took time to wash down the outside of the car! I am truly impressed by the service these folks gave. They went above and beyond my expectations! I feel absolutely confident to send my daughter there for future repairs! Thanks guys, for your outstanding service!

Well I was getting a check engine light on my car so I took it to OReillys to find out what the code was. It turns out that my coolant flow control valve was sticking. So I had called around to get some estimates on replacing that part. This place had some good reviews so I had called to get an estimate. The guy on the phone said I would have to bring it in because he couldnt tell me anything over the phone. After driving 30 miles to their location, I was told at the counter that it would be a minimum of $86.00 just for the estimate, and I would have to leave the car at the shop all day because they would not be able to look at it until late in the day. It would have been nice to have this information relayed before making the 30 mile trip in a car with an engine issue. So I made the 30 mile trip back home without an estimate or the repair.

I took my sons car to Petes because they were open on Saturday and I could not quite figure out the tail light wiring system. I was close to nailing it but just could not get my back up lights to work nor some stick on exterior LEDS on each of the tail lights. The signals and brake lights all worked. The person initially greeting me at the register just seemed like he may have been having a bad day or did not want to be there..no smile or seeming to care. All I got was a request fill in the form and he called the electrical tech to meet with me so that I could tell advise the repair needs. I told the electrical tech : (1) I knew that all of the regular bulbs worked because I checked them before bringing the car to them; (2) he asked me the color of the LEDs and I told him I was not sure. He advised me that you cannot have white bulbs on the back when in drive mode. I got it...so they either had to be white when backing up or red in drive mode. He said he would check them out for color and intensity and would give me a call when the car was ready to go.Monday morning I got a call from the electrical tech and he said the car was ready for pickup. I asked him what he determined about the LEDs. He told me in somewhat of a gruff mode that he did not check them nor wire them into the system in case this was causing the problem of the back up lights not working and then he repeated that the car was ready.I do take some responsibility (which I should not have to do) for not pressing the question for my $83.00 I paid. But it bothered me that my complete request was not honored.There are two major points to all of this and that is greet your customers in an inviting and friendly manner (from the person behind the desk all the way down to the technicians) because this is there prime focus. Secondly do what you say you are going to do. As a student of customer service for the last 35 years, this is so important for obvious reasons. I sincerely believe that the people working at Petes are competent and know there jobs but their customer contact skills need quite a bit of smoothing out. On top of all of this, a simple piece of interior trim to cover the tail lights inside of the trunk was not put back on that took me all of 1 minute to install.

Petes has been fair in pricing and delivered good service. The other day when my elderly mother took her car in they treated her like a queen. I went here on the recommendation of a friend who has been using this garage for 11 years. I had been quoted $1400 from another local garage after they located a crack in my water pump and insisted on me having to change my timing belt at the same time and I decided to see if Petes could do it cheaper. To my astonishment Petes garage told me there was nothing wrong with the water pump or timing belt. They found a few minor things which needed taking care of but these came to a fraction of the cost. In addition they pointed out things that were not worth worrying about given the age of the car and things that I could take care of them at a later date when I wasnt so strapped for cash. They had my car back on the road within a couple of days and their work resulted in a noticeable improvement in my cars performance. I have been going there ever since. Petes garage is honest, efficient and skilled, you only have to look at the sheer volume of costumers there to know they are doing a great job. I wont go anywhere else in the area.

My husband and I had such a bad experience here and will not going back. I only went from a recommendation, but was skeptical from the very minute I walked in.I took our Mazda protΓ©gΓ© in for an oil change and also said I thought the breaks might need to be checked. To their credit they said my breaks still had a lot more use in them instead of taking advantage of me.The next day my husband was driving to the airport and the car was stalling. He had it towed back to them since they were the ones that most recently worked on it. He told me it shouldnt take longer than 20 min to see what was wrong so I waited. 45 min later I decided to go home. They called us and said what they thought the problem was and we asked them how sure they were. They said they were positive they knew and said it would be done by the end of the day. We called the next day and they said they still werent done and my husband was bugged that the guy on the phone couldnt take it his tobacco long enough to talk to him and that he had to tell the guy what they had said they thought the problem was last time they called. The next day they didnt call us and by the time we got around to it they were already closed for the weekend. I dont have a problem with something taking that long if it needs to, but be honest in your estimate! One day verses 5 to replace a part? I went to pick it up and on my way home (one mile away) it was doing the same thing.I called our pervious person before we moved and asked him if he had any idea what was going on and he looked at the records and said, its probably the coil. It looked like it would need to be replaced in about a year. He wasnt even looking at the car and knew more than they did and was able to predict something a year out. Had we been able to bring it to them I guarantee they would have told us we should replace it at the oil change and we could have avoided the whole thing and my husband wouldnt have missed his grandmas funeral.We brought it back and I talked to the guy at the front about what was going on and he had his back turned toward me and was shuffling through papers while I talked. I pointed out to him that the way he was acting right now was a good example of them not listening to us ever since we first brought the car over. He started yelling at me asking me what I wanted him to say and I told him that for starters I would like him to look at me when Im talking and that I didnt want to be charged for them to fix it since they obviously didnt even check before I came to pick it up if it was fixed. I stopped trying to talk to him since it was obvious he couldnt have a professional conversation. I asked how long he thought it would be for them to figure out what the problem was. He said half an hour. I asked him to tell me how long he really thought it would take even if it was on the long side so I didnt sit around waiting like last time. He again said half an hour. 45 min later I walked out to the back to see the mechanic that was actually working on it. He seemed like a nice guy but wasnt very confident in finding the problem. He asked how long Id been waiting. I told him 45 min and he said, oh, I just started because I was on my lunch break. The guy at the front desk! Ah!I called them later that day to see if they knew what the problem was yet and they had already worked on it without asking. They said they only charged us for parts that time, but it was still more than I ever paid at our last place.

Went in with transmission issues, took them 5 hours to diagnose it the first time i went in ($80) told me to come back again the next day or leave it overnight so they could fix it, took it back the next day for them to re-diagnose it ($80), they said they needed to order a part, called every day for a couple weeks, then once a week for a month and a half. finally gave it up and took it to a dealership and got it fixed in 2 hours.If you want to save some money and dont mind waiting a couple months this may be a good solution. but if you need a functional car go somewhere else.

If Last time I took my car to Petes they called me and told me it was ready and it wasnt. After wasting an hour picking up an unfinished car, I went back the next day to pick up my finished car. I needed an oil change and explained my AC was broken. When I picked it they took me to the car and said it works, it gets some air as my AC SCREAMED and blew out barley anything. Clearly I was to be more specific. My AC shouldnt have been described as broken but making a noise/barely workingStupidly, I took my car back to fix the air, they charged me 600 dollars for my unbroken AC and cracked my dashboard. In half. Not a small crack. They said it was bc of a plastic bag that had got sucked in. What I would say is this. A plastic bag can be cut with scissors, or if you are wrenching off my dash with such force that it is now in several pieces, I should have been called and consulted. I called and spoke to Pete who has always been very kind but he essentially told me it wasnt his fault and to go away.To be clear, I contacted the business owner first before leaving a review. I gave him the chance to correct it and he had no interest.600 dollars to fix my blower mortor and break my dash. Thanks so much! Thanks so much for understanding when I called you....haha.Do yourself a favor and let a different repair shop be rude to you, treat you as an inconivence and have no respect for your vehicle. My dash is in two pieces....no one said a word until I had paid for it. They called me to say it was ready, no one mentions broken dash. No one mentions broken dash until my credit card was swiped. Awesome.Pete admitted I should have been called prior to them breaking my car. But I guess its not that big of a deal if you dont own the car...?

My husband and I have been using petes auto care for a while and they do a great job. Employees are very nice and i just love it i would tell my friends to go to petes because they are the only ones who can actually fix my car and in a reasonable time period..

Dear Prospective customers,I am astonished at the way Pete treats his customers and took advantage of a young man. I dropped my son off to pick up his VW Jetta at Petes Auto on Friday Aug 8th. I then left town. We had a temp gauge put on, a thermostat replaced with an oil change. ( which was a whopping $90.00!)My son drove 10 miles on Hwy 6 N at which time he looked out his back window and saw smoke billowing out of his car. He pulled over and called me. I called Petes, because my son did not know what was happening and did not want to cause further damage, if possible, to his just out of the shop car. I told them I was out of town and my son was stranded. After 2 Calls to Petes, a tow was sent.A personal mechanic I sent over said, the oil was not new oil. It was dirty oil and there was no way possible that new oil can possibly become dirty after 10 miles of driving.Pete stated that he did nothing wrong, Even though my son found the dip stick laying under the hood, that had not been replaced after the oil change.So how was a 21 year old young man know what was going on? Just after retrieving his car from Petes? He did not. Pete said that he did not know why the car was smoking. He then charged my son 40.00 for the tow that would not have even happened unless something was not done correctly at the shop, oil spilled on car ect.Pete obviously cares more about the 40.00 or being a person who is incapable of making a mistake. He would rather take 40.00 from a very hard working young man that had just spent almost 700.00 getting his car repaired, then he does customer care or even a returning customer.I went and spoke to the business owner Pete. Explained my concerns in a very rational manner. He was adamant about doing nothing wrong, the charge being legitimate, even though smoke was billowing out of my sons car. Before I left he called me a liar in front of other customers in a raised voice. I have NEVER been spoken to like that in my life, much less, in a public business from the owner of a company. I will never do business here again.

Had my car towed there.They was suppose to retread a spark plug but my car is still sayin misfire and they didnt try to check it before we picked it up. Service engine light still on. Not good business
