The food was better than expected. They serve dinner before hitting international waters so everyone can be gambling. The boat did rock more than I expected but thats because some pictures also make the boat look much longer than it is. Bring some dramamine just in case. Youre on the boat and the last thing you want is to be sick and stuck. If you wear shoes with no backs you will have a paper to sign about liability. We spent most of our time playing roulette on the first floor in the back of the boat. For the price the boats exactly what I expected it was just pretty warm so dont shy away from shorts or a dress. It takes about an hour to get to international waters so its close to 2 hours where the tables arent running. Its a boat casino not Cesars palace. But overall had a good time and enjoyed it.The photos are taken from the roulette tables of the first floor and the bar right as you walk on.
We had a awesome Date night tonight (Friday). The Prime Rib was delicious and so were all the sides. Plenty of food. Enjoyed playing the slots and even won a little :) Even though there is smoking allowed on the ship the smell was not noticeable. The air conditioner worked great we all were comfortable. The crew in every department were friendly. Thank you all for a wonderful date night!
Good time, smoke smell not too bad. Will go again. Staff is excellent. We ate at 1:00 PM after every one else and they took care of us. Bartender worked entire ship with ease.
Very boring, super old machines …not clean, no sanitation stations with wipes; a few hand sanitizer stations with a few being empty. I can’t believe they allow smoking indoors… they focus more on the smokers making sure they have plenty of ash trays then they do sanitizing. NoOutdoors deck seating…The place was a 🤮Good - Food wasn’t so bad and the scenic views
I love it . I read some reviews and just what did you expect ? You only had to pay 15 $ cant believe you would even complain about anything . The smokers are probably sitting at a table, or machine gambling that keeps ship running . I been going many years . I will continue . You should go on carnervel . Spend more than 15 .
Bingo was so much fun!!!! I had lotsa fun. Took my friend and she loved it too. Food was fair but for the price I loved it and if I’m that way again I will do it again ❤️❤️❤️
I went for my birthday & I had a great time! Vintage feel but if I weren’t for the bartender I don’t know what I would’ve done, he definitely made our night (my boyfriend was with me)
It was nice food was ok slots took all my money but overall it was good need a bran new rail so you can walk on ship its years old and someone will soon get hurt. They make enough for a replace.
Great meal, than a wonderful evening with the dealers and others at the table. If you cant afford to lose the money, Dont go!!
Had a great time my first time I would enjoy going again
Here starts me and the boys journey, we call and make a “Reservation” which by the way means nothing. Day of we call to confirm our reservation woman on the phone just tells us to show up with our id and $15(This was their opportunity to do what’s right) upon arrival we see a large amount of people frustratedly waiting. Come to find out the AC on the boat wasn’t working and hadn’t been working all day. So instead of making us aware of this, they lead us to believe everything was good to go. After over 30minutes of waiting we where told it was canceled. Can’t leave zero stars so one will have to work. Save the pain and throw your money out the window instead.
My BFF came to visit from Kansas City and I thought itd be fun to try the Emerald Princess Casino! Some of the reviews that people have written are true...but heres our take on it! Yes, the boat is dated but we had a great time!! We went on Wednesday evening.. it wasnt super busy so the cigarette smoke was bearable. For $10 you cant go wrong .. we had a fabulous boat ride and a meal that included BBQ chicken or meatloaf, potatoes, beans, roll, salad, drink, and a late night snack! The staff was kind and attentive! Lisa, in the dining area, was the first person on board we interacted with, she was so kind and took the time to answer a ton of questions we presented her with. The upper deck was a great place to hang out to look at the beautiful scenery! We won some $$ and will add the Emerald Princess to our list of things to do on her next visit! Some things you need to know: you CAN wear sandals but if you wear flip flops you sign a waiver, Im not a person that gets cold easily but for those that do, take a sweater as the air con works good there! You will be on a boat so some rocking movement is inevitable .. it wasnt bad tho!
Oks okay just for something to do that involves gambling thats only 2 hours away from my location. Dont expect to get drunk nor rich and dont expect fanciness. The fact that it was only $15 including food was good. The food was okay I guess. The menu included: baked chicken, baked fish, ham, green beans n corn mix, rice n gravy, cornbread, roll, salad, cookies, and soft drink. A lot of machines didnt work. No out-of-order signs. Machines wouldnt pay out and staff did not care...just gave excuses. No accommodations. Staff was of poor service (except for first floor bartender n chef). Will go again if desperate enough but only for cruise and view.
I would give 0 stars if I could for the appearance and aroma of the ship. We left the ship within 4 minutes of being aboard. The place had an awful stench of weeks old ashtrays. It was very dated and in need of repair. The only good thing was that the employees were pleasant and were understanding about us wanting a refund.
Great for Smoking Gamblers....Staff nice first and second floor....DINING ROOM STAFF& FOOD NEEDS TO BE UPDATED AND NEEDS TO BE BETTER....YOU CAN WIN GOOD BUT THE SERVICE CAN BE BETTER...
It wonerful gorga house called green rock cool
Had a really great time! I wish it was no smoking though!
I went to try this place out with my wife and once on board we learned the AC did not work. We were not informed of this until 5 minutes before departure time and later learned it has been down for over a week. The temperature inside without AC was unsafe. The meal was not good, only a few gambling machines were working, and the boat looked like it was in bad shape. We did get a refund, but I will not be returning any time soon if it all.
It has been awhile since Ive been on the gambling boat but my girlfriend and I had a really great time. Very good staff also
The ship needs remodeling and a good cleaning
To all the negative reviewers, you must have had a horrible losing night. I almost did not go because of the reviews, but I did and I am SO GLAD I DID! Remember people, this is a gambling boat. The $10 charge is not for a brand new cruise, a 5 star dinner and a walk in downtown Savannah. Its a gambling ride. HAVE FUN AND ENJOY THE EXPERIENCE. Yes, the boat is starting to show its age. The smoke can sometimes get too much, but they have a filtration system that works and a place to go outside to hang out for a minute. The food was pretty decent, I had stuffed flounder and the cook did a great job. The lady assisting us with our meal was very sweet and energetic! The waitress assisting with our drinks while gambling was very attentive and did a great job keeping everyones drink full and constantly making her rounds asking if we needed anything, what a great job! The cash out attendant was amazing, he had do many people pulling him in different directions but he stayed calm, did his job phenomenally. The ride was very nice, the sea was calm. There is a little swaying, so take anti motion and have fun. The experience is worth it!!!. Great job to the Emerald Princess and to ALL OF THE CREW!!!!
The food was 5 stars along with the kitchen staff. However, the gambling was not a great experience because of the smoking. I would suggest a non smoking floor. I heard many people complaining about the smoking
This ship is very old. They allow smoking and vaping. I tried to sit next to a man and play a machine who was actually vaping! Vape smoke surrounded three machines around him! So wrong and inconsiderate! The food was absolutely horrible. We were told to make our way upstairs to start gambling and next thing they are announcing not even one hour into the cruise that the dining room was going to close! We race upstairs and they gave us the last of a ham roll, cold potatoes and a drink. Appalling! Then with no warning they announce the casino is closing, which is one hour prior to getting back and they literally give you 10 mins to cash out! Payouts on the tables were very poor. The whole experience is something to do but I would have rather done nothing, it was that bad.
My husband and I have been on here a few times while we were visiting Jax. I think if you just want to get a way for a lil while its perfect for you and friends or a significant other. The only reason I gave 3 stars is because they left us one day when we were at the gate at 7:02 pm. But other than that I enjoyed just about everytime we have gone!
Beautiful views. Great experience. Won multiple tournaments on the tables.
Well this was a joke to get people to drive there to an empty lot. Its only open certain days of week. So waste of drive off beaten path. 🙄 signs along road are not telling you the entire story.
Had a great time. And a nice meal in dining room.
A must. So enjoyable.
My husband and I took the 7pm to 12am cruise on a Friday night, celebrating our anniversary while in Brunswick. The staff aboard the boat were friendly and inviting and gave us complimentary drinks for the night. Before launching, we saw dolphins playing near the boat. We watched the sun set over the Sidney Lanier Bridge from the observation deck. I wish we had taken a day trip so we could have enjoyed the scenery a little more. The DJ was talented and kept our interest while dining. Dinner was cafeteria style and decent. Over all, it was well worth the $20 for entry. However, do not waste your money on the slots. Play a game of luck with blackjack. Dealer John was fun to play against.
My husband & I have been a loyal Gold members for years. Tonight we drove up from Jacksonville & we arrived as the ship was still boarding but the gate was just locked. As we were standing there two ladies left the ship & 2 more couples arrived (one couple came all the way from Savanna) the blonde curly hair box office worker (who refused to give me her name) did nothing.. opened the window but refused to speak to any of us! How RUDE. I will take my money & business to Port Canaveral & Tampa for now on where we are at the very least treated with respect! Its really a shame.. we have supported this business for years & spent thousands.. we know almost every dealer.. but I will no longer support a business that treats its patrons like they do not matter! I guess the days of basic common respect & customer service are truly over! Well at least on the Emerald Princess II they certainly are!!
Been here a few times with my significant other. The dinner is included with the entry price. They have slots and table games. Alcohol is not included so its good to bring some extra cash 💸..The yacht needs to be updated its really old and Rusty but besides that the experience was great. You can enjoy the scenery outside on the back deck.
It was fun! Like the casinos in Mississippi. You know the casinos that are on the boat.
Great. Food was delicious. Tony Evans is a great entertainer.
Old boat still fun
Let me say this review is NOT for the cruise but for Ms. Sherita. I had never been on a boat like that and apparently they make me sick. I was not only physically sick but also had an anxiety attack. I spent almost the entire time in the dining area with my head on the table sobbing. Ms. Sherita went above and beyond to try and make me comfortable. She brought me crackers and ginger ale. She shared some of her own personal peppermint oil with me as it alleviates motion sicknesses. She kept a check on me and it meant so very much to me. I do not know the chefs name but he was also very kind and he made a really great lunch that I was able to enjoy before the ship sailed. I personally would not go back for obvious reasons but I was so grateful to have met Ms. Sherita.
I looked at the flyer & timing wrong and we missed our valentines cruise. We still had a good time, but will definitely return to catch a couples night cruise & add the last star
It was just ok to long of trip
It was my first time ever going and the trip was cut short because of an issue or incident with another visitor on there. But other than that the food was so good. Alcohol drinks were made great as well by the bartenders. And even the table/card dealers were friendly and outgoing
The first time on this boat and had a very good time. Honesty first the food is nothing to speak about however the chef was great. Youll like him. The entire staff was awsome. The slots had issues all day had to call josh over sooo many times to get the pay out to print. No issues with slots paying for us alot of wins all over however allmost every time wed have to call josh over. Otherwise the ship was in good shape and was cleaner than i expected thank you
Great night to entertain friends from out of state the director of the boat would be my only complaint not a good people person Bethany I believe her name was
Had a blast. Won a little money, and the food was ok...overall, a lot of fun because the music was good and the people were all friendly. Definitely going again
Rude and unprofessional staff. These are just gas station machines on a boat. It was very unclean as well.
It was an awesome experience. Actually my first time on a casino boat!. I will definitely be back!!
Its getting old, its getting wore, it has its scratches and dings, its still running good, I enjoy it, where else are you going to go so close to gamble? Im not a snood, I appreciate this boat.
Hard to believe it’s 2020 once stepping on board. My dog would be questionable to eat the food. Prepare to sit aimlessly for almost 2 hours waiting for the ship to dock. They stop all gambling at 11:15 last call is 11:30 and didn’t return to dock until 12:51. However, the staff is nice.
Very nice ship clean and the staff was very pleasant the only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 stars is because they dont have my Favorite game 3 card otherwise very Good Time
Low rent casino. Machines are tight and dated. It is as if they bought out the inventory of a closed Indian casino 20 years ago. Its 2020...why do you have to go to the cage to redeem a ticket or get change? You are held hostage for the duration of the trip, so you better bring lots of $$ you can afford to lose or a book.
Awesome experience! Will be returning!
The staff was very pleasant food needs to be improved too much salt paying $10 was well worth just the cruise. I was winner Im real happy about that would go on the cruise again
Very fun Sunday cruise
THIS PLACE IS NOT COVID SAFE!!!They encourage but did not strictly enforce wearing mask. They allow smoking everywhere so smokers are all around maskless. My Husband and I wore masks the entire time. You could sit/stand next to one another at slot game rows and table games. Nothing was blocked off for safe social distancing. The boat rocked/swayed tons so sea sickness is a strong possibility. Many of slot games were old and none of them took the printed tickets that you get when you cash out. You had to go to the cash cage or try to trade it in or catch a money assistant as they made their rounds. The decore/bathrooms we very dated and many machines were out of order. My Hubby & I didnt like that you had to wait a full hour after boarding time before the actually casino floor was open AND that it also closed 1 hour before end time. We were told its because we must wait to gamble on international waters since its illegal in Georgia. Makes since I guess but youre still losing 2 hrs of fun time. We went on the weekend evening cruise from 7pm to 1am and the boat had mechanical issues upon return so we didnt get back/exit the boat until 135am. After the casino/cash cage closing at midnight, waiting a full hour and a half to exit really sucked since we drove down from Savannah which is about an hour and a half away. They have food included in your ticket price but get up there to eat ASAP For freshness/full option availability. I give the food a 6/10 for variety/quality. Our food choices were salmon, chicken or pork with green beans, white rice/gravy, a small salad, jello and a soft drink. Portions are a bit small and youre only allowed to get 1 serving/plate but soft drinks are bottomless. Out server guy was very nice. The music that the D.J. played during dinner was great. Such a wonderful variety of classic hits. We were exhausted at the end. If we went again, we decided that we would try the daytime cruise. Also, taking photos is not allowed. Boo.
I used to go on this cruise 3-4times a week most of the trips was when I was married we enjoyed it liked the owners Sam and Lewis and me Bookhouse dont no if some or still around been since they sailed out of Fernandina Beach FLA now out of Brunswick went about 250 times
Loved the experience. Games are older models. Take dramamine first. Fair warning
I had a great time cant wait to come back.
Loved it... having moved to Savannah from Brooklyn New York less than a year ago I miss the Atlantic City casinos. Also considering Georgia residents are banned from Atlantic City because of covid-19 this was a nice alternative. Casino was a little lackluster but lots of slot machines on two levels of the ship there were several gaming tables which I did not use, and the cafeteria type food was adequate but I wasnt there to eat. Hahaha The bar and cocktail waitress service was good. Cant wait to go back again!!!
Good food
The food was okay. Thats about it. The view up top the ship was pretty. There was no sitting outside and the ship inside was a dump full of cigarette smoke!
Slots are tight put $100.00 in one slot did not get no more than$5. Need to be updated and docked with an hotel attached or moved closer to Jekle Island for more business. This way they can improve the boat and get more guess for them and the island. I wanted to get off but we were at sea. Bingo would had been nice but not enough people, so it was cancelled.
If you dont have anything to do and just want to get out for a day and hopefully win some money than this is a great getaway! I went a couple weeks ago...now I did win a little something and lost it back! 😥 but hey I had an amazing time. They provide free food on the boat and it was not bad at all. I had Salmon with gravy and rice and with green beans! They have on the 3rd floor music and a little dance floor! I went on the top deck and OMG its so nice and peaceful. I went to stand on the top deck and look at the water. They have where you can sit as well. The only downside is if you get motion sickness than take your meds before getting on and it is soo cold on the boat. I was freezing.
Fun adventure. Enjoyable except for the excessive cigarette smoke in some areas. My problem and I moved. Staff was very friendly.
Do not go if you cant handle cigarette smoke. The top dining was HOT when first boarding. It cooled off as the sun went away. The slot machines are a waste of money. The best part is leaving and coming in.
Very outdated, smells awful... machines are very tight.. dont expect to win.
Overrated. The food was terrible, very dry, not fresh. The carpets needed cleaning in a bad way. Smoking is allowed through the boat. They shut down Texas Holdem because of covid, yet they allow passengers to smoke and go maskless. And you can sit shoulder to shoulder at the table games.Skip this ride for sure. If you want gamble, just drive on down to Jacksonville...
This was my familys first time of being on the Emerald Princess, a group of 6, and everyone of us had an amazing experience. We all had the prime rib and shrimp for dinner and it was amazing. We went to the observation deck for the ride out and when we got into international waters we all went to the second floor and had an amazing evening and came home with a night we will never forget. Thank you Emerald Princess and all of the staff for an amazing experience.
This place has burned down
Horrible.... They didn’t want to turn on the air. It was packed. They food was horrible and the crew didn’t know what they were cooking. When being outside there were no chairs and when people would get chairs they would take them back saying no one could have chairs. When going into the women’s bathroom none of the doors locked causing you to have to hold the door while using the bathroom and the boat rocking back and forth. People would loose all there money on the slot games and go to sleep on the floor or deck. The drinks are extremely high and they only give you a splash of liquor and the rest of the cup soda if you was new on the boat but if you been going there for a while then they give you three different kinds of liquor and a splash on soda. Crew had horrible customer service.Crew member popped people hand for getting more then one scoop of grits. Crew member was cursing each other out. I will never go back to this cruise ever again.
Meh. The staff was super nice and I cant really say enough good things about them. The food was, well, meh, but what do you expect for $10. I think the. experience would be better on the night cruise but I cant say for sure since they had mechanical difficulties and we ended up having to reschedule our visit from 11 AM to 4 PM. The gambling was sort of typical...Im not a gambler and mostly just enjoyed the cruise. Warning to those who get sea sick. The boat is large bit it does pitch and roll even on calm seas. Take dramamine before you go but stay away if you arent really up for potential sea sickness.
Have enjoyed my times on the boat. Have been to Vegas many times and AC at least twice a month, many times staying overnight at the Borgata (which usually was a pleasant stay)The times I have been on the Princess have been just as pleasant .
For what it cost, sometimes 10$ sometimes free it was worth it. Its not Vegas, but its not your uncles basement either. You also get a free lunch. Its a good afternoon killer 🙂
My friends and I went on this cruise for a birthday celebration. Everything seemed alright at first. The food was good and the servers on the top deck were really friendly and helpful after we got sea sick. We had our heads down trying to sleep it off on the third deck when a customer came up and was talking to our waiter Joey who is white. The customer said I am ready to get off I have a three hour ride back to Savannah. Joey replied that must be nice. The customer said no I hate it, it is full of N WORDS. Joey replied, we got a couple of them right here but your good they are sleep so I dont think they can hear you, referring to my friends and I. I had my head down but I was not sleep so I heard the entire conversation. A women who I believe is the owner of the ship was sitting a few tables away while they had this loud conversation and I am almost positive she heard her employee and her customer refer to us as N WORDS. We still had two hours left on the ship so I did not confront anyone but that was the most traumatic 6 hours of my life. I do not recommend giving this establishment your money especially if you are a person of color. I am hurt and disappointed at my experience on this cruise.
PLEASE DONT DO IT!!!!The ship need some much need help. Dont spend the $10.00 to do this... Spen your time doing something with your money.I can not even rate it because it is below the scale.!!!!
Too many people to even consider social distancing. The AC did not work, the food was okay but not good. The slots do not pay out at all and the first floor was packed wall to wall so you can’t get to a table. The drinks were extremely watered down (less than a shot per drink for 6.50.) the top deck had a nice view but no seating at all and the kitchen staff would come take chairs from people if we borrowed one to have a seat on the deck. One guy from the kitchen was cursing and talking about customers while leaving the boat. The whole cruise was 6hrs long and was boring after the first two hours. My whole experience was terrible.
This was one of the best experiences Ive ever had. Got to see a gorgeous sunset over the Sidney Lanier Bridge from the observation deck. Food is included and was pretty good. Cocktails are about $4 and absolutely delicious. Didnt win many games but I still had a great time which is what I went for. Highly recommend for anyone who enjoys fun or an amazing view. Only complaint is that none of the bathroom stalls actually locked.
I went there this past weekend. I wasted $100 and won $800 on the slots. Had a great time, staff is friendly, dont listen to the bad reviews. They just mad they lost. Worth going too
Nice staff, guess they have been closed for remodel, not a lot of that. Upper deck is still closed. But had nice time.
Loved it as it was my first experience on a cruise boat. Food was good entertainment was nice. Staff very friendly and very inexpensive
Amazing, home style food. Drinks werent overpriced. Clean! Staff was wonderful, atmosphere was amazing. 10/10 ill be back.
Very fun and interesting
Went on cruise from hell last night. A/C not working and no one cared. Staff very rude and no help. They cut the time because so many people were getting ill from the heat. Never should have left the dock with that problem.
If you like smoking, that is the place to do it. Most of the stuff were nice. Df not fancy at all. Not many would do it again. Me, if nothing better to do. Staying on the deck, w a good weather, great!!
The food is better than I expected. Its no five star experience, but its fresh and well prepared. On Saturday night (10/21/17) I had the meatloaf, mashed potatoes, peas, and fried fish.I only play roulette and I only bet on the outside. Ive been twice and both times its a five dollar minimum and $250 maximum on outside bets. Some dealers are better than others (no surprise). I just cant believe the range though. There was one guy who paid me on several bets I lost! Theres more of the other end where careless dealers remove the chips of winners. I think I caught most of those (I hope). It takes about an hour from departure until they open up the tables, so the slower you can eat, the less time you have to wait. Also, theres no comfortable place to sit outside, which is where I go to warm up. Its freezing inside on all three decks.
Didnt get to go, canceled mechanical issues I guess
This was a wasted trip!!! We found out about this cruise online. The pictures give a nice representation, but in actuality, was an incredible disappointment. The ship itself needs major renovation...inside and out. The restrooms were disgustingly dirty and without toilet paper even. The restaurant was cluttered, not inviting, and the food was mediocre at best. And to top it off after eating there food we got an upset stomach that lasted until the next evening and beyond. Some slot machines would not print a cash out ticket and there were very few varieties to choose from also. On the upside, the employees were pleasant and helpful, although they looked overworked and assuredly underpaid. Totally depressing atmosphere!!!We would not go back nor recommended this cruise to anyone. We drove 2 hours for this....should of stayed home, watched a movie and saved our money. If it was possible to give a negative star review this place would receive it. But their employees are the only redeeming quality.
