I gave this company a bad review and it wasnt their fault. I unjustly judged them because of other factors happening to me, when in fact they were most helpful by trying to work with me and letting my vehicle sit there while making arrangements to get it to my house. I would recommend them to anyone that needs their vehicles repaired.

Took my truck to Sterling transmission to get diagnosed because it seemed to be stumbling and wasn’t running correctly.I was told it needed a new transmission and the torque converter seems to be coming apart. The cost would be $ 3300.00 and they offered to buy the truck if the cost was to high and I couldn’t afford it.I took the truck for a second opinion and they said one spark plug was miss firing.Had the plug changed and no more problems.STERLING TRANSMISSION ARE CROOKS STAY AWAY !

My car broke down on I 95 in Brunswick SC. They responded immediately & sent a tow truck to get my vehicle. The next day they assessed my cars problem. I was given a quote and the car was repaired the next week. I was treated fairly, professionally & respectfully. The price for the repair was spot on & the car runs great. We brought our Jeep there, as I thought it was my transmission leaking due to color of leaking fluid. They took me in right away. He put it up on lift and it was motor mounts. He offered to drive vehicle over to Cook’s Auto Repair, as they do that kind of repair and we were not there at that time. We needed to get rental car. He refused money for all he had done for us. He was professional and very kind. I would definitely use him if my transmission ever breaks.

Sterling transmission is amazing! My transmission had been slowing leaking for about a year. I had taken it to another local transmission shop three times and it was still leaking so I decided to try something else. I brought it here and it has been the best decision. They are super friendly and even took pictures to show me what was going on. It hasn’t leaked since!

Ive been doing business with Bernie and his wife April since they opened and you wont find a more honest and knowledgeable mechanic around. He does more than just transmission so go see them, you will have a mechanic for life.

Sterling Transmission went above and beyond to help out with my transmission problem. Even after telling him what year and model vehicle I have he knew of the issues that were associated with it and actually told me the code that would show up on the diagnostics. True to his word he had it up an running in a few days and priced affordable compared to other shops in the area. My hats off to Bernard Hann for the great job he did!!! I definitely recommend him and Sterling Transmission.

Nice and honest people. Helped me get my car towed to the shop and was quick about fixing the problem. Saved me a lot of money when I thought my transmission was going out but it was just the solenoid. I will definitely be back if I ever have transmission trouble again.

My transmission wasnt shifting properly, took it to Bernie he diagnosed the problem told me to bring it back on Wednesday. I left it that morning and it was fixed as good as new before 3 the same day. Great folks to do business with honest and dependable. These folks are my go to for transmission repair.

Just wanted to say a huge THANK You to Bernie at Sterling Transmission! My husband and I were towing our boat from Florida to North Carolina and started having issues in Georgia, two hours from home and four hours from where we were headed. We stopped at Sterling Transmission and Bernie came out in the pouring down rain to assess our situation. He was honest and sympathetic to our situation. We made the decision to continue on to North Carolina and Bernie handed us his card and said if we broke down along the way to call him and he would help us any way he could. Fortunately, we had no further issues and spent the weekend on the boat with our family, in North Carolina. You very rarely find customer service like we received from Bernie and we cannot say thank you enough.

Lesson Learned: If you have starter trouble, take you vehicle to a transmission expert like Bernie at Sterling.I brought my F250 to a competitor (whose name is ____ and ____ ) for a starter job, which requires disconnecting the transmission. When I went to pick up my truck, i could not even get it out of the parking space. The other shop damaged the torque converter and pump when the disconnected and reconnected my transmission, and the truck was not even driveable! Worse yet: they refused to admit fault!!!! I towed it to Bernie. He went out of his way to explain what happened to the other shop, even let their mechanic come to Sterling and showed them what happened.Thanks to Bernie, the other shop finally came around and they paid the $1200 to fix what they broke.I trust him. I recommend him. Use him for transmissions and for starters too! Someone who isnt a transmission expert can turn a starter job into s nightmare.

Heading down I-95 South at 11pm on my way to the beach with the family, my transmission and transfer case came apart and left us stranded on the Interstate. I looked up transmission shops and called different folks until someone answered. Sterling answered on the first ring; then proceeded to help me find a tow truck and a taxi. The next day they showed me exactly what was wrong, completely rebuilt the transmission and did all the work quickly, efficiently, and competently. I couldn’t be more thrilled with the quality of their work and their fantastic communication. Thanks so much for all your help.

Started having transmission issues and brought it to Sterling Transmission. Based on a test drive and diagnostic codes, looked like it could be a rebuild, but keeps looking at it. Found out it was a minor issue (caused by the dealers service department) causing a leak that was fixed quickly and affordably. A less honest shop could have soaked me for thousands. When I need transmission work, Ill definitely be back. Honest, friendly, affordable.
