I have live at deer run for 6 months and it’s is not worth the price that you pay. The fitness place/ and pool were close most of the time I living there. Then it occasionally shuts down for maintenance issues. My house flooded dude to the Washing machine malfunction that they improperly install. Half my house was flooded and a lot of my peeps my belonging were ruined. Thankfully I had renter insurance.. My apartment caught fire in my 4 year old son room from a plug. This could of took our lives. The staff are very ruin Beth and Lori. Don’t move here very out dated and dangerous.

Unprofessional, miserable, nonresponsive office staff. You pay rent to be spoken to rudely.(Laurie and office manager).Apartments are bug infested, need updating have mold. I have named the complex Deer Run Down apartments.Don’t waste your time. Look elsewhere you will be much happier Your money is better spent with a higher caliber of professional staff and apartments

I haven’t lived here at Deer Run long. So far I have had pleasant experiences with the office staff, maintenance, and neighbors. However, these units ARE NOT worth the price. These units are outdated. The price in rent needs to go towards upgrades, appliances that match and appliances that work. Living here is a pit stop to purchase a house of my own. Hopefully this will be my last time renting in Milwaukee. You do not get bang for your buck at Deer Run.

Overall, my wife and I had an average experience at Deer Run. The management in the office was always cordial with us, though I wouldnt call their attitudes warm and inviting. The clubhouse and pool area was nice though the gym equipment could do with some updating or maintenance (but its an apartment, not a gym, so I cant complain too much). The area isnt too bad overall although people FLY through the neighborhood in their cars, almost completely oblivious to the speed humps. As previous reviews stated, we did notice a problem with dog poop and trash being left around the complex although Im not entirely sure what could realistically be done about this beyond what management is already doing. Maintenance was quick to fix anything we brought up.The one bedroom apartments are small. The kitchen is almost not usable and forget counter space. The layout of the living room can pose a bit of a challenge for a 3-seat sofa and TV but we made it work. For the price of rent, I feel that the quality and finish on the apartments is lacking but the attached garage and private entrance do help justify the cost. Our upstairs neighbor was extremely friendly and we had no issues, although the floors and walls are paper thin and no matter how cautious others are, youll hear everything. The units are poorly insulated which means $110+ utility bills during the winter months and $80+ during the summer. The dishwasher in our unit was useless at washing dishes (even though it was new) and usually made them dirtier than when they were put in.Again, not a bad experience but far from extraordinary, which is why Im giving Deer Run Apartments 3/5 stars.

If Assistant Manager Loris customer service skills are any indication of how this apartment complex is run/managed, then I am concerned for the people living here. I called today to inquire about renting out a private room for my friend, who resides in the apartment complex, and is getting married. I wanted to rent out a room (with her) for her bridal shower. Lori answered the phone and then proceeded to have an unrelated side conversation. She then re-greeted me, and I had to repeat everything I had just said. I was met with annoyed resistance upon requesting information about the room, as I do not live in the complex; however, I had just said twice that my friend lived there and would be renting the room with me. She then quickly rambled off information, and I had to ask her to repeat all of it. At the end of the call, I asked her name and position, and she hesitantly told me she was the assistant manager. Renters beware...unnecessary attitude to friendly potential clients.

First of all, to be honest these apartments are super new. I’ve been living here for 7 months. Im enjoying my experience here it’s pretty good. Neighbors are so nice.Second, Lorrie in the leasing office is super rude person, someone has to teach her how to smile and talk politely with the tenants. I don’t know if she treats everyone the same, but I really don’t like to deal with her in anything. I prefer to speak to anyone else but her

I wanna say that management here is pretty strict, but that’s what management does for living. If you have some issues, you should call them ahead and explain the whole situation. That’s what I did. I was amazed that you can make a deal with these nice people.

I took a tour with Deer Run today and It was an excellent experience. I am sure that I am going to rent from Deer Run because its clean, quiet, and close to everything! It would be more cost effective for me than keep my house, after taxes and insurance monthly I pay more than the rent even if it goes up!Thank you Deer Run!

The staff is rude especially the maintenance personnel. He makes rude outlandish comments & thinks he is some type of authority figure. You cannot disrespect someone & think they arent going to respond back. His title consists of cleaning toilets & making repairs. Thats it thats all. He throws his title around as if a person is suppose to acknowledge it with fear. Complaints have been made but I doubt any action will take place. I recommend any perspective tenants look elsewhere & any current tenants should refuse to resign their lease.

I rented a 3 bedroom at Deer Run in 2009. I liked the private entrance and fireplace. I moved in 2013. The staff was very rude, except for Kristi. I only communicated face to face with her. The other two I only emailed. They only knew me by email. I never wanted to meet them because of how nasty they were. The only thing I didnt like about the apartment was they never updated but kept raising the rent. Now I live on the east side paying $1000 for a 3 bedroom with all new everything. I would never move back there. Once I looked around at other apartments I was mad because I couldve paid less rent for a 3 bedroom with all new stuff in it. They need to update if theyre going to keep charging so much in rent. Loved Kristi though.

I lived here a few years ago and it was awful. The place is outdated for the price tenants speed through the complex. Foreign bugs in the unit maintenance or cleaning crew sneaks in unit without permission. Hated it here!

This place is something else. In my two years there, I never once saw anyone pick up their dogs poop. Especially during the winter and spring time, youll be seeing it literately everywhere. The management never did anything about it other then send out angry passive aggressive emails. These emails were never BCC so you can see the addresses of all your neighbors. I never did appreciate having my privacy violated like that. The managers arent typically in the office during their posted office hours, so it was darn near impossible trying to get a hold of them about something or pick up any package that was left in their offices by USPS. It usually took several attempts just to pick up your own delivery. When you did try to talk to the office staff about something, they always gave me rude and condescending comments. I always left their office feeling like I was the jerk. Worst part is, since the refrigerator, oven, dish washer, and washer/dryer is so obviously cheap they will frequently break down, even if they are brand new. My own washer/dryer combo broke down several times. Once it took me leaving four voicemails over two weeks before I got a call back about my broken washer. And the dryer is useless, usually you need to cycle it two or three times just to get the clothes dry. Complaints about that problem went unanswered. They advertise they are dog friendly because they dont have restrictions. Problem is the snow crew doesnt use pet friendly salt, so I had to learn the hard way that I must avoid the sidewalks after theyve been salted. Cleaning up blood from the carpets from cracked paws is never fun. They also salt on days in which it doesnt even snow or ice over, so even if you dont own a pet youll be constantly tracking in salt and destroying your vacuum cleaner trying to clean all that salt up from your entryway. They advertise they have a free gym. Problem is some of the equipment they have there was broken during my entire two years there, and that a number of times when I went down to work out there was a group of unsupervised kids there running around like it was a playground. It is near impossible to use half of the time. Some of the neighbors are nice and will say hi but the other half are extremely inconsiderate. The ones next door to me always smoked weed which the smell crept into my apartment, and they were always fighting and yelling about something. I complained to the management about this but it didnt stop them. Other neighbors always came home at like 2am with their music so loud it shook my windows. Thats the kind of area this is I suppose.Despite all this, after our first year we had to renew because the end of our lease crept up on us and we decided it was too stressful to look for a new place on such short notice. To our utter shock the new rent increased by over 200 bucks per month! And they didnt offer any perks at all like most other apartments do when you renew!Honestly, its best to avoid Deer Run at all costs. Ive lived in ten different places in four cities, and this was by far the worst apartment experience Ive ever had.

It wasnt absolutely horrible to live there, but they are pretty bad with a lot of things and there were a few red flags.1st flag. When the maintenance staff told us to cover our smoke detectors with plastic shower caps due to the fact that they react to dust. Also we cant simply unplug our alarm because the entire lot uses the same network so if one is unplugged NONE of the other apartments have an active alarm.2nd flag was when my roommate was notified about passcode changes and i wasnt.3rd they hoard a lot of the mail so it was hard to get to it since i work during the apartments office hours- 10-5 and so i never ever really ever got my packages unless my roommate was able to get them.My 4th and final statement, When signing our lease we were TOLD that if we wanted to RENEW our lease we needed to notify the office 60 days before our lease end date. What we werent told was that our lease would be AUTOMATICALLY renewed for 60 days if we did not notify them that we would be leaving at the END of our LEASE.Honestly im just happy to be out of there

This place is not very nice, but it was extremely convenient for my commute. Unfortunately as time went on, crime went up and the office staff got even more incompetent. The apartments are very outdated and cheaply done. You can get a nicer place in the city for cheaper.Every single detail screams cheap, from the baseboards that pop out of the walls, to the paint splashed on the cardboard counter tops, to the gaps at every window and door letting in cold air and bugs. There was a new stove when I moved in, but it has to be the cheapest model on the market as even a frozen pizza takes an hour to cook on 450.If you live downstairs, invest in some good ear plugs because the walls and floors are paper thin. I can even smell what my neighbors are cooking. For the exorbitant price that raises every year although no updates are made, you expect to at least be safe. Unfortunately robberies, vandalism, and car jackings are common. But the office staff is ever so kind to send passive aggressive emails, with personal details of all residents unmasked, (seriously learn how to bcc), informing you of the crime and reminding you in all caps to clean up your dog poop- which is everywhere. The mail system is horrendous- drivers cant find your house and commonly misdeliver, but the office wont allow packages to be dropped off with them. They do hoard all USPS packages/mail and make it very inconvenient to pick up. Expect the office to be locked at least 20 min earlier than posted, usually more. Its the incompetence of the office staff though that prompted me to write this review. Dont expect them to do anything, certainly not their jobs. They are the laziest, least helpful people in possibly the entire world.Avoid this place at all costs unless you want your car broken into and your mail stolen.

Rent is too high, you wont get a break on a skip rent increase here even if youve lived here for a number of years- most of the People that live here do so because of the pets they own, i.e. Pits, rotties- it is very hard to find renters that accept these breeds - poor insulation, In the Winter we have ice on the Insude of our sliding doors & windows so keeping our place warm is Very expensive! And as for the management team once you sign your lease forget about the smiles, and niceness. Oh if you have kids, there isnt even a play area?!
