First it all starts with the lack of communication. Let me be clear on this, there was NO communication on anything. The roof material and windows took 6 months to come in and when it did, I found it in the middle of my driveway after coming home from work. Then the material sat there for another 2-3 weeks. No one called and said anything, I had to call them to figure out when they were going to install the materials. Now ill start with the roof. The crew showed up on time the morning of the job but as the pictures will show, they were very carless of my property/landscaping. As I write this on 4/7/2021 it has been in the upper 70s for several days now and none of my plants (that I spent thousands of dollars on) have come to life and I am pretty sure they are dead. The crew completed the roof in one day but not after destroying all of my landscaping/plants. So, what comes after a new roof you may ask? New gutters! Well let me be clear, it did not get any better. The “gutter guy” I had zero communication when he would show up, and he just showed up one day and started tearing my old ones off and putting new ones on. Same situation as the roof people, ZERO respect for any kind of landscaping/plants at all. Between the “gutter guy” and the “roof people” I am not 100% which killed all my plants. This “gutter guy” overall did nice work, but as you can see by the picture, I am not sure what kind of back country work happened here, but to me this looks very subpar and of course is in the front of my house for everyone to see. Thanks for that one! Oh wait, there is more! After a week of the gutters being put on, some of the down spouts started to fall off and all of the downspouts were also cut to short compared to my old gutters causing drainage to come back toward my house instead of away from it like it is supposed to. But wait! There is more! The windows, oh yes the windows! Once the windows finally came the “window guy” was a one man show who had his underage son help him with some small things here and there. Because he was a one man show, it took almost 3 weeks for him to install 11 windows and 1 sliding glass door. As he took his time installing the material, the communication of what day and time he would show up was ZERO. One day he would show up at 8am then we would not hear from him for a day or two and he would show up at 11am. It was all over the place with no communication at all. His overall work quality was good, and he was very nice and polite. My biggest issue with the “window guy” was no communication on when he was arriving and using one of our hand towels to wipe caulk. He of course did not ask us if he could use it, he just did and left it outside filled with caulk and now its garbage. This is just another example of this company’s inability to communicate with the customer and RESPECT their property! It was not about the cheap hand towel, its about the lack of care they had for my property! The last few issues I have with this company is their willingness to back their work and make it right. As you will see from the pictures, the handle of the sliding door came from the manufacturer damaged. As a decent and fair company, you would want to make it right and change it. I brought the damaged handle to their attention and they stated that they would get it replaced, but now that they have their money, I am still yet to hear from them on when they will replace the handle. My guess, they wont! To wrap all of this up, the last communication I have had 4 months ago with this company was them asking me for more money! I know this is where this company’s radio silence has gone because I refused to pay them $1,000 more money then I already have! They tried telling me that it cost them more money to install the windows. Wouldn’t you think a company who supposedly has been in business for 20 years would know how to quote a window job by now? If they do not, then it sounds like they should not be in business.

I would use this company over and over again. Their professionalism in doing their job was outstanding!!!Their workers work ethic was beyond amazing. They were not only friendly and courteous but extremely helpful in explaining everything from start to finish!Joe and Andrea were the best, if I had to pick two people to work with, I couldn’t have picked two better people. They went beyond my expectations!!We definitely will be using Midwest again for windows and even when I told them that we wanted them to do some of our really bad windows, when the time is right for us, they didn’t pressure us for a time. They simply said “let us know when you’re ready! I have already recommended Midwest Home Exteriors to soooo many people! In fact they are doing my father-in-laws house and garage soon! There aren’t enough words to explain how very very pleased we are with our new roof! Thank you Midwest!

The whole team at Midwest Home Exteriors is awesome. Had an ice dam over winter and contacted Doug at Midwest Home Improvements. They worked with me and my insurance to get job done. I actually ended up doing whole roof. Price was very competitive and the service was exceptional. They finished the entire roof and tear off was done in less than a day. Roof looks amazing and is covered by the best in the industry warranty from Owens Corning. If you need a roof, this is the place you want!

We needed a roof repaired When purchasing a new home. They were easy to work with super helpful and priced competitively. Showed up on time day of the job and everything was completed and cleaned up the same day. Very happy with the look and quality of our brand new roof!

I have given mid west a one star because of poor communication. I was told on July 1 it would take 3 weeks for them to get to my roof. Mid west has not called me once to update me on anything. Today is August 11. The only way there was any kind of communication it was on my part. When I did call I was told I would get a phone call back from the owner. That never happened, twice I called them and never got a phone call back. I had to call for an update My worry is now since its so lack of communication I have a lifetime warranty how hard its going be for communication with that If something go wrong. On Friday August 6th I got a phone call from the receptionist saying that my roof should be done in the next two weeks. I will keep you updated if that happens. My rating is not judging them by their work, it is rating them by their communication skills only. By the way the only reason I got a call back from the receptionist is because I asked her to talk to the owner and relay the message back to me. Again my roof has not yet been done and this is not a rating on their work just their communication skills. I will update you and send pictures when the work has been completed.

Midwest Home Exteriors replaced my aging (and no longer covered by my homeowners insurance) roof. They called a couple of days in advance to let me know when the workers would be there. Those workers showed up on time and were ready to rock! Roof looks beautiful now and should last for many years. Very pleased with the entire process.

If I could rate Midwest Exteriors with 5+ stars, I would. Ice dams on my roof were leaking into my kitchen just before we were going out of town. James had his team set up and ready to replace the roof while we were gone. Unfortunately, they found our chimney had damage and deterioration which halted the roofing repair. James was professional and communicative during the entire process. We had a few other companies come in and address those issues. The entire job was completed by the time we got back home. Everything went smoothly and looks fantastic. I am grateful we put our trust in James and his company. The job was done exceptionally well and at a lower cost than other quotes we had. Midwest Exteriors surpassed our expectations. These are the people you want on your roof!

Had a great experience with Midwesr Home Exteriors. Great communication and theyvwere very responsive. Supplies arrived and they were there the next morning. The removal/installation crew was phenomenal...tear down and re-shingled in about 4 hours. Would recommend for sure!

Midwest Exteriors replaced the windows, patio door, gutters, front door, screen door, and siding on our home. The work wasnt just done, it was done to the highest standard. I am very pleased.

In the middle of selling my moms house, we were told the roof needed to be replaced. We knew it was going to be a big job since she has a steep pitch and 4 layers currently. I was referred to James Gregg from the realtor and I contacted him immediately. He called me back immediately and was more than happy to quote this. In the meantime I also called a few other roofers to quote the job. James was the first one to come to the job site and met my mom. He took the time with her and explained exactly what they would do, how the job would go, and that it would take approx. 1-1/2-2 days because of all the layers. He gave us a referral discount and the price came in pretty steep we thought, but how were we to know until others came out. After the 2 other quotes came in from other roofers, James was just slightly less than the other roofers, and the ONLY one to take the time to explain everything to my elderly mom, and then speak with me about what he just told her. The only issue we were very worried about was due to the cost, we didnt have the funds immediately to pay for it and James was more than willing to work with us to be paid out of closing funds. I contacted James 1 week later and asked him if we could sign a contract with him. He met with us 2 days later, and then the following week, he had his crew of 6-8 come out early, tear off the 4 layers, install 4 new vents, reflash the chimney, repair a few damaged boards and install the new roof within 1 days work. They did a superior job, and the roof looks great. The communication and dedication I received from James and his team at Midwest Home Exteriors LLC was better than expected and I highly recommend this business for future work for anyone!
