We retained Mr. Fleenor for our son’s Violation of Probation case in September of 2021. Our son was facing jail time after recently being released from a 10 1/2 year prison sentence. I had spoke to Mr. Fleenor several times on the phone and he was very helpful, professional, knowledgeable and made me feel like there was hope. Doug Fleenor is a con man. Many years ago, I hired him for 1100.00 paid in full to represent me in a minor criminal matter. I lived out of state and the City of Bristol Virginia had not served me yet on the matter. He promised I could show up in the courts with him beside me and get served in the courts and be on my way till the next court date. He asked me to travel to his office to review the case. He was the only one that knew I was coming. Moments after arriving at his office, Bristol Virginia police showed up and arrested me in his office. He then kept my 1100.00 dollars and told me to find another lawyer. He is a con man, just like he just tried to sell his seat on the commission, he has no morals and will sell out his own mother if he could. Stay away from Doug Fleenor. By the way, the criminal charges against me were false and were dismissed.

Mr. Fleenor has been an absolute God send to our family on more than one occasion. He represented my husband in a custody case that we had fought for 4 years, he guaranteed full custody in 6 months and thats exactly what we got. Kimberly Fleenor was kind, caring and very professional, during what was one of the most stressful time in our lives The two of them make a great team. I have had Doug in more than 1 case. The previous cases he did well but he has changed as a lawyer. His wife Kim works in the office and will not ever work with my family. She wont answer the phone or reply to emails. In court Doug did absolutely terrible. In the past I recommended Doug and had people pay to hire him based on my recommendation. I wouldnt recommend him to anyone now. Never again will I say a good word about him. I depended on him as a lawyer and he did nothing. I could have represented myself and got the same outcome. Do not depend on him or his office to help you because they will not. Do not waste your money on hiring him. Its terrible that a person, and their familys, future could depend on Doug Fleenor and his office doing their job....Because I can say from experience Doug Fleenor (and his office) is not dependable. They do not care that you are in jail, they do not care to ruin your familys future and they will not fight for you. Please, remember my experience before you make the same mistake as I did by relying on this office.

I had Abusive Alternative’s representation and the Crisis Center Director on the stand in my defense and Fleenor was so unprepared I left the courtroom with no child support or alimony. From what I hear he is good with DUI’s but do not hire him for a divorce case involving children. He never heard me. Only his wife who is his secretary would talk to me. She was very empathetic and supportive but unfortunately wasn’t the one who went to court with me. It’s years later and I still regret choosing him as a lawyer. He ruined my chances for a normal life.

I am from out of state so I had to trust Doug to show up and represent me in court. He and his staff were great in keeping me informed and what I could be facing in the way of penalties. I was relieved to hear that no jail time would be given and believe it or not, after what I read on google, I was wondering.Doug was able to get an over 80 (This is a misdemeanor offense in Virginia, which is the same level of offense as DUI) reduced to 79 which made it a regular speeding ticket with much lower penalties. ($350)I highly endorse Doug and his staff and am glad to have this incident behind me.PS - Dont speed in Virginia, but if you must, at least keep it under 80.

Terrible lawyer, will not fight for you. If you depend on Doug Fleenor and his office to do their job, you will rot in jail. I think hes scared to upset commonwealths attorney so he wont fight for you. Do not hire him.
