I had my truck straight piped and the driver side completely fell off within 48hrs. I took it back. He re-welded it. Not even 3 weeks later it broke again. I had to take it to a different shop and have it fixed for half the cost. The new shop showed me where every single seam also had a leak. I will NEVER use JRs for anything again. Thats $200 wasted.

J Rs has always been very good to me and my family when it comes to fair prices and being honest about the situation but i will say ive been disappointed by the fact hes not been willing to work on my last 2 cars. Apparently newer Chevys arent his thing. I just teach myself how to do things by using the internet so now i just dont use a mechanic but if i did, and had a car he was able to work on i would take it there.

I have had my vehicle worked on for many times. He straightened out problems I had when I let him fix it. All of his employees were very good.

I pd $850 to replace my clutch and started going out within a month. When I took it back he told me it was my transmission. I wasnt having a problem with transmission before the clutch went out.

Lazy workers, dont trust. brought my 07 tahoe tothem Monday night to have the shocks replaced.Iwent to pick it up Tuesday evening and the brakelight was on, which has never been on and wasntbefore I dropped it off. I left it again, and calledthem in the morning to look at it. When I lookedonline 99% of the time someone forgot to plug in asensor or nicked a wire when doing the rear shocks.I called them and told them this and they said theywould look into and call me back. Never called meback, I called them and they said it had codes on it,codes I already knew none which would cause thebrake light on. I kept asking if they checked all thewires and they kept insisting they thats not it.i asked if they checked the plugs and I could tell by the response they probably hadnt.I knew they probably didnt go back and check theirwork like I insisted.I ended up bringing it to anothermechanic who agreed with what I said. we crawledunderneath the rear end and found a plug next tothe shock unplugged. We plugged it back in and nolight. Didnt have to buy the 1000 worth of parts theywere insisting I needed.This is my second time they have been lazy and not checking things I asked. The first time I told them when I pump gas my vehicle wouldnt take it and stop every second it would take me 30 minutes to fill up.I told them everything I had replaced and if they could check Lakeways work. They said they did.Took it to the same mechanic that found out about the plug and said they must have not checked it because the sensor with the fuel tank not plugged up.Only reason why I had tried to give them a chance as they are 10 minutes away from me where the guy who has always found the issue and takes him time is 45 minutes from me.I was hoping they could handle a simple task like putting on shocks,but guess not.

He was really nice Soho tire on 421 was going to charge me $75 for the front and rear alignment. Jrs only charged me 45.00. hes a pretty honest man and you have to respect that.

J Rs is the best place in Bristol for car repair he fixed my mazda 6 hes fair with parts and labor if you want excellent work done this is the place for you will always bring my work to him and my family always has and never had an issue with the repairs always honest and trustworthy.

I had JRs align my lifted 4runner with 35s. We specifically asked for caster to be set to +4.0 which some shops arent comfortable doing but it is necessary to fit my tires without rubbing plus improves tracking at highway speeds. Not only did the alignment techs achieve +3.8 left and +4.1 right, they kept camber and toe within spec. The alignment cost $45. Completely satisfied!

I called and asked about a quote for upper ball joints, struts, shocks, and an axle and was pleased with the price so I asked when they could work me in to do the job and they were able to get me in there the next day and finish it in the same day. JR is a very friendly person and seemed as appreciative to have my business as I was with his price and quick turn around. I highly recommend trying this place out and will refer anybody I speak with!

Making an appointment to have your vehicle worked on at JRs doesnt mean a thing at this auto repair shop.... I had an appointment a week ahead of time and when I arrived first thing in the morning I was told more or less first come, first served..... God forbid if you bring your own parts....If you do be ready to get reamed out.....Taking my repair business elsewhere from now on

Great service and very good for the price. Lived in the area for less then a year and it was a great experenenc. When I was leaving some nutter was very rude to the guy who dealt with me and he kept bring religion into it like it would give him a better deal. Bad tact if you ask me. Pretty sure these bad reviews are from such more often then not.

While looking at my receipt I get jumped and yelled at for not trusting them. The man was literally fighting mad and took it out on me! I just wanted to see the work that had been done to my vehicle. I was actually pleased to get my truck fixed but was told by owner to get my s#%= and leave and never come back. Never been talked to like that. I was taken by complete surprise. The man must have some personal problems or something. No one deserves to be treated that way. I guess you are just expected to pay your bill and not look at your receipt? Who does that? Very disappointed and mad. Not a good place at all!

Spent tons of money on several different occasions with this guy... told me good luck with one of my vehicles and that it was done... took it to Brians Auto and now it rides like brand new. Wifes car he fixed A motor mount on but did piss poor job at it now its also at Brians Auto. 500.00 for something we have to replace again and more of after 6 months from it being at Jrs. Wont ever take ANYTHING there again!!

Did a great job at a great price. They ran into several problems while attempting fix my truck but called and kept me informed through the entire process. After I went to pick up my truck, I had a few questions. JR took the time to stop, come outside, and answer my questions. Overall a great experience.

My wife was passing through from out of state and needed brake repair. JR took her car in right away, repaired it, and charged exactly what he said it was going to cost. She said the office and shop were clean and that he was nice and efficient. I want to say thank you to JR for a job well done!

Very kind people and was treated with respect and was quick to look at my car, however did not fix the problem with my vehicle and was still chargered FULL price.Was told by head person,that he was 90% sure it was the problem, he also included the 10% chance it was not. With 90% chance and mentioning that he has been doing this for over 3 decades, I felt confident the problem was going to be fixed. Result problem not fix and was told it fixed 50-60% of the noise( the noise stayed same as before repair).Overall experience customer service was great, the two star is due to problem not being fixed and full price charge.

Scammers. They were shooting prices at me like $3,500 and I went to Tolberts who told me I didnt have ANY LEAKS.

Took my car to get it looked at due to a noise it was making. The man there said it was the catalatic converter and to bring it back in a week and he would fix it for $100. We took the car in and he didnt replace the converter at all, the only thing he did was put a flex pipe on and he did a bad job at doing that. The noise was still happening. Took it back to them and he said it was the converter and he would fix it. We took the car to bennys pipe and muffler and they said it wasnt the converter at all. Bennys said it was the starter and they fixed it. Now there is no noise.

Well to start off with if I can give zero stars I would attitude and customer service in the beginning couldn’t have asked for more pleasant people thought I was getting a really good service down as they were recommended to me by Tri-Cities auto parts I trust Tri’City’s fully and do not blame or hold them responsible for recommending JR‘s auto repair to me I had called on 5-01 to get service from JR‘s auto and they told me to bring it in the next morning by 10 AM and it would be finished on 5-02 that same day well it was finished yesterday but as soon as I got Up this morning to go to work I heard a whining noise coming from my rack and pinion again/power steering pump so I immediately pulled my vehicle back into the parking space got out and checked the power steering pump was completely empty of fluid looked under the vehicle and it was out on the ground call JR‘s and they told me that he amid it they had problems putting my vehicle pressure Seal O rings to my rack and Pinion back in to the rack and Pinion they had problems putting it back together but thought he said they accomplished putting the old seals back in and it would work told me that I would need to drive it down there I live in Damascus Virginia I told him there is no way I can drive the vehicle that I couldn’t pour enough fluid in it to get to Bristol to his garage so he proceeds to tell me then I guess you will have to get a rollback to bring it here I am out $547.32 then I said shouldn’t have put old seals back on with them being a problem and was told that he has a sign on the wall that says no guarantees I had planned on getting a lot more work when I got the money from them but of course there is no way on gods green earth that I would let them do it sure not good customer service I’m a single mom of four.

I had a problem with the brakes on my Mazda and JR worked it in the very same day to make sure it was fixed and safe to drive for me and my family. Very affordable and VERY VERY honest. He should me the parts that were bad before fixing anything and I will not use anyone but him for my car repairs.

Traveling through Bristol, and needed my breaks fixed. They fit me right in. Also showed me another problem that could be fixed but could wait. I highly recomend this shop!! Fair price and great attitudes!!

I have taken my car there multiple times. And theres always the same car problem or another wrong, after a couple of days or week after. I just recently took my car there, for new wiring to be done that runs to the battery. Car ran for 3 days and stopped. I checked the car and no new or used wiring was done to it!!! They suck and the town needs to know!!!😡

Having taken multiple vehicles to JR’s Auto Repair over the years it goes without saying that I have been pleased with their work. However, the customer service that I have experienced is terrible. When approached by a customer with a problem or concern the owner always acts as if you are bothering him and he has no time for you. He is very unreasonable and hard to deal with. In fact, the last time my car was there for a repair he actually used profanity while speaking with my husband about a concern. You should not ever treat customers that way! This is why I will no longer have any vehicle serviced at JR’s Auto Repair.

They done alignment on my car and they did the work for half the price Sam Sneed wanted....plus JRs done four wheel alignment,SS was just going to do front tires !!! JR is the best place and best prices .

Terrible experiance. I was charged $400.00 total and my car ran worse then before. When I asked I was told that my car was I piece of junk but they would give half my money back if I let them take out the parts they claimed to have put in. When I asked for an itemized receipt and proof of new part purchase I was yelled at, told to never come back and my money was refunded. While I was waiting for that JR had another customer waiting he was friends with harreass me the whole time. I asked him to stop talking to me but he did not.When a business would rather refund than prove that the work was done something is fishy. Yelling at customers and allowing them to be harrassed is just wrong.

I took my truck to them to fix the air conditioning. They told me it would be a thousing dollars cash ( guess they were avoiding paying tax). We had worked with them on numerous other occasions so while the price was high we thought the work would be quality and the parts would be too. JRS mechanic sold us on the idea of spending so much by telling us that it would be special ordered quality parts not over the counter from advance or auto zone. As my husband was dropping off the truck he heard the other guy say I will run next door to advance and get the compressor for this truck...my husband was livid at that point but at least the work would still be quality so he got into the van and did not say anything about what he had heard. Three days later my husband is driving and no air!!!! We call, because they warranted their work for 3 months and parts for a year. Well sir, we cannot warrantee parts that we already in the truck and that is the evaporator core leaking we asked for a price to fix the air to begin with and were told that it would be 1000.00 and that would most assuredly fix it. So guess what JR says now? it will be 400.00 more to fix the evaporator core. But being a nice guy he will take 100.00 off for labor. I hang up and consider it. I decide to call advance and get the price for parts since that is what he say he is charging for and throwing labor in for free. Drum roll...the part costs 89.98. He is a thief and a con man. It does not suprise me that he has good reviews because I would have given him rave reviews until now. He works your confidence in him and his establishment up before he takes you for 1000.00 or more!!!!

I have used this shop for years an putting up with a owner who always acts like you are bothering him. The last time I had an issue with the work I had done an was cussed for bring back my car. I don’t fault the mechanics that work there it’s the owners terrible attitude toward the very people that keep him in business.

The ONLY place in Bristol you should be getting an alignment at IMO. Saved me a new set of tires after Kings effed up my front end by just setting it to factory.

This is the only auto shop I will take my cars to when I am near Bristol.
