Tried to get a quote on a job and their price calculator said 800 parts and labor. Every other mechanic I called was cheaper and Im pretty sure werent using some app to figure out how much to charge. I ended up getting it done at ricks garage for half the price

I need to get my car in ASAP and they had an appointment available the next day. The man in the office the two days I was there was nice and friendly, easy to joke with, and answered all my questions that I had. The price was amazing for all the jobs I needed done!! They done an oil change, switched out my windshield wiper motor, fixed my broken door handle on the inside, an alignment, and looked to fix another problem that I had. I would recommend this shop to anyone needing to get things done on their car! Will definitely go again when I need something done! Thank you to each of you that played a role in getting my car fixed and back to me.

Been to Cowans for a few different issues with a couple of different cars. They are very courteous and always call and discuss the repair and cost before they do anything to your vehicle. I was sure I needed brake pads one time and they told me I did not need them, my brakes were fine instead of just changing them and charging me. I have had only great experiences with Cowans and would highly recommend them.

I was referred to Cowans from our regular mechanic when he didnt have the proper tools to work on a Nissan Murano. Cowans did excellent work on this vehicle and my family and I have used them ever since. I would recommend Cowans to anybody looking for dependable and honest auto work.

Very speedy, efficient, and do great work. This means a lot when you have to work and need your vehicle back asap. They might be just a little pricier than other shops, but Id rather pay a little more to have it done right the first time! They have worked on 2 vehicles for us. I really appreciate them taking care of my grandmothers vehicle in a timely manner, and not taking advantage of her and I as we are both females, and she is on a fixed income. Some of the other quotes I received from other repair shops were completely outrageous and Im pretty sure they were attempting to overcharge. Cowans even had the car repaired a day earlier than they originally anticipated. We will be returning customers.

Had them repair my fuel line which cost me approximately $300 only to have it start leaking again a few months later because all they did was put a metallic tape around the line. Highly unprofessional and very poor workmanship.Edit: I have since had the line replaced by another shop as there is absolutely no way i would trust Cowans to touch my vehicle again after finding metallic tape wrapped around the initial leak. Unless they plan to reimburse for the second replacement, the 1 star rating will remain.

Weve had our cars worked on here for many years. We wont go anywhere else. We moved to Johnson City, and we still drive down to Cowans anytime we need anything. Best mechanic work there is. They are always professional, will never lie, or try to add on any extra work. You can be sure any work done here was done the right way!

Called to see if they could do a heater core flush on my 2013 Nissan NV3500 (easy access to lines) and was told upon giving them the vehicle info, they wouldnt work on it. I asked why and the answer was just dont. That was really a good answer without explaining why they just dont.Would I consider any future work on any of my vehicles with this company? Probably not based on the answer I got which makes it look like they are Cherry-picking the work they want. If the owner wants to reply, then great! I would like a better answer ... Lack of proper equipment, etc is better than the answer I got over the phone.

Highly recommend!!! We have used Cowan Automotive for at least the last 8 years if not longer and they are always very thorough and professional. Have never taken a vehicle to Phil that he hasn’t been able to fix. He always works us in even when he is very busy and always gets us repaired quickly. Always does excellent work!!

I have used Cowan automotive for a few jobs, and have always been pleased with the quality of their work, however this time I brought my car in to be looked at, which I was told it would be looked at first thing in the morning, that turned into an hour before they closed. When I was quoted the price to fix it, I told them it was too much I would go elsewhere. Then they told me I would have to pay $65.00 to get my keys back, because they looked at my car. I don’t have a problem paying for estimates, but tell your customers upfront. I will never, ever take anything to them again

HANDS DOWN THE BEST STILL IN TOWN!! Being a female and on a budget looking for a mechanic, can be intimidating. I am proud to say thats one less thing I will have to worry about. I used the chat to set the appt they replied back in a timely manner and got the car in the next day . They were inviting and welcomed us. I had the best darn experience yesterday at Cowans! I had been traveling on I 81 heading to Maryland from Louisiana when my car started overheating. After doing my best to figure out what the issue was myself I figured problem was my water pump and it would certainly cost me several hundred dollars and time I didnt have to fix it.It didnt take long at all for the mechanics at Cowans to find out that a bolt head had broken that was bracing my alternator so it was dangling making the belt loose on my water pump. The mechanics stayed after hours just to do a good deed and get me back on the road. They could have easily got over on me but theses were good honest people who appreciated being able to help. Gotta love that!Thanks guys, yall are damn good at what you do!

I had an issue with my car. Took it to Cowans and they ran a diagnostic check with their machine. They were able to figure out what it was and fix the problem. I wouldnt think of taking our vehicles to anyone else other than Phil and his staff. They have serviced ours exclusively now for over 3 years and every experience has surpassed our expectations. Everyone hates having car problems and what makes it worse is not knowing who you can trust and who you cant. I no longer have that problem.For example, my Honda Civic at one time required service on the tailpipe that he could not fix himself, so he took it to Bennys and had them repair it and just billed me for it. Who else would do that?Awesome service and a great guy, give em a chance!

Cowans has worked on multiple cars for me over the past three years. While their staff is helpful and does a fantastic job diagnosing and repairing problems Im noticing a trend with the quality of parts and longevity/side effects from repairs:-Head gasket repair job-- while the car no longer overheats, it now has an oil leak and burns oil.-Complete (front/rear) suspension replacement-- Within 13 months a front sway bar was already broken. I will say that Cowans graciously replaced the sway bar. However, since that additional replacement the issue has resurfaced.-Alternator Replacement- eight months later I find myself replacing said alternator.Again, these guys are great people and mean well-- I.E. theyre not maliciously trying to rip you off-- still, Im concerned at the trend of quick-failing replacement parts used on my vehicles.

I was told, You should just take your shi* and go the fuc* home!....My AC pressure was too high, so Cowans offered to remove all refrigerant & refill to oem standard. Now the AC pressure is even higher. When I confronted them about this, the mgr was explaining what was happening when one of the workers puffed his chest out &said, You should just take your shi* and go the fuc* home!. This review would be a 1 were it not for the mgr, who apologized & explained my cars situation in more detail to me. Not happy, but it seems the work performed was on par with what youd expect from an auto mechanic.
