Hoods is the most trustworthy automotive repair business in St. Louis. I highly recommend them for all kinds of automotive work. Today I signed up for their annual Car Care Club. It is a $495 value for $100. Unbelievable value!

All I can say is, WOW! What amazing service. My parents have been using Hoods Automotive for over 40 years. Now I know why. I came in town to visit my mom. She needed work done on her car, so I handled it while I was there. I was running short on time, and Michelle at Hoods stepped in and went above and beyond to help me get everything taken care of. She even dropped the car off back to my moms, so I could leave town as scheduled. There are too many details to put in this review. But, suffice to say, Michelle was so genuine and caring and really went above and beyond to help us out with my moms car. It felt more like Hoods was family than just a car repair shop. Car was towed here and the shop would not let me pick up my keys I need for work, all bc I left my wallet at home since I spent the day getting a rental and dealing with insurance which left me discombobulated after realizing I may be facing a total loss. They wouldn’t make an exception even when I offered to describe things in the car or things on my keys only I would know. This is not customer service, this is doing the bare minimum and hiding behind the veil of “company policy.” I cannot voice my displeasure enough.

Honest reliable shop. They could of done what I asked but they fortunately checked my reported problem. So instead of a bill for about $3000 I had one for under $200Thank you Hoods automotive for being honest.I had my sons 2000 Subaru towed in for what I thought was a bad head gasket. I saw some oil in the coolant. They called me the first day the worked on the car and asked what other symptoms I saw. They did not find a problem with the head gasket. They did a multipoint inspection also and found a worn wheel bearing. (I will replace that myself) They did do an oil change and a carbon cleaner for the engine. I asked them to keep the car and make sure all was good with the car as my son was taking this to college. They drove it a bunch and did not see any issue. I was glad to have a much smaller bill

This shop is very trustworthy! I was told by another shop that I needed a repair that was almost $600. Hoods told me that repair was not necessary. AAA approved. They rock!

My family and I have been going to Hoods forever. They provide great service at reasonable prices. Plus they back their work if something still isn’t right. I trust them to tell me what’s actually wrong. They’re honest about what’s going on - letting you know what you can put off and what’s necessary to do immediately.If you had a negative experience a few years ago, they did have a slump for awhile during the transition after the founder, Joe Hood, passed away. But his daughter Michelle has turned things around and they’re back to their high quality service.

Truck died on the way home and called them, Chris was professional and courteous and was there when they said he would be. Dropped my truck off at the house and helped me even push it in the garage! The Patriarch of Hoods has passed on now but his integrity, determination to do the best for his customers, has been instilled in his family that carries on at Hoods.Oh Little Joe first worked on a car for me at Godat on Lucas/Hunt Rd. 60 years ago. This last time, Michell went above and beyond the call of duty! It was my wifes birthday and we went to get donuts when the engine and diagnostic light went on. This is our last car. Michell came to pick us 2 old folks up and take us home and had 2 donuts from Tonys Donuts! Like a mother and grandmother working full time wasnt enough for her!

First time customer. They had a special for healthcare worker & first responders. My appointment was for 10 a.m. It took a little longer then I expected for a oil change but that after service was well worth it. They go above and beyond any shop that I have been too other then the dealership. They explain everything thats going on with your vehicle. I will try them again.

They did what needed to be done, and nothing extra. The truck was ready sooner than promised. We will be back.

Called Hoods to see when I could get in to have an emissions inspection done at the end of the month and they got me right in so I would not be late to renew my license plates. I was very thankful!

It was nice that the results of the 41 point vehicle check were texted once complete so I could see what the technician saw. Vehicle was completed earlier than expected.

Make sure you pay what they quote you over the phone. Paid 50 more than what was quoted got a refund but the fact they are already pretty high they should make sure not to over charge. Then to add this is how the motorcycle was placed in their yard. Should I say Thank you

Truck had lost all power steering fluid. Made the call and they showed up within an hour and did a great job hooking up the truck and the driver was very courteous and professional would highly recommend them .

We were coming into town for the Cardinals game yesterday when our vehicle lost power. We managed to get off of I 70 just as it happened. Called Hoods and Bryan was there to load up the vehicle and get it to a dealership for us in less than 30 minutes. He was very professional and helpful. Top Notch! We even made it to the game! If you find yourself in the position to need assistance, I highly recommend them!

Very quick service. Extremely kind. Walked out to a flat at work, was there quickly and even offered to drive me up the long parking lot. So hospitable. Absolute recommendation.

First time visiting and I felt at home. Family business and very nice and easy to talk to. Talked to Michelle about my children and life. Who does that at a car repair shop?? She did...and I will be going to them for future repair or maintenance needs. I made an appointment for an oil change and they were prompt getting my car in and out..and the price was reasonable. Of course they make recommendations to keep your car running and I didnt feel pressured..nor did I feel like the recommendations from Jeff were unnecessary. They gave me options which I appreciated.

Joe has helped me out for over 20 years. I have full confidence in his shop. I do wish he was always there, but I understand his situation. I have never had a bad experience at the shop now or when he was in the other location.

I was staying at the Sheraton at St. Louis. Without telling the hotel, they towed everyones car to repave the parking lot. Hoods Auto Towing moves my car and damaged the engine shield under the engine. I told the tow truck driver and he refused to acknowledge he did it. I asked for his name and he shoved his dirty glove in my face. Later I complained to management. Turns out the dirty liar did not make a report about damaging the car. The lying jack ass was trying to sweep it under the rug. Michelle Litton did apologized, but stay away from these tow truck drivers. They make Donald Trump look friendly.

I have taken my cars to Joe Hoods for over 20 years. He and his crew have been honest and have never tried to sell me things I dont need. I would recommend them to anyone. I would especially recommend them to people that are not very savvy with cars as the trust factor is the most important thing to someone that is not well versed in cars and how they work.

Great company! The handled the tow and the maintenance of my broken down vehicle with a very friendly demeanor. I took away one star because they took almost 2 hours to get to me and I was only 30 minutes from their location. The auto shop on the other hand had my parts ordered and installed in one day! They worked with the warranty company without me having to be a middle man and were very nice about having to do it. Would definitely recommend these guys!

DONT DONT DONT USE THIS TOW TRUCK COMPANY THEY ARE OVER PRICE. They charge me $107 for 2 miles and when I ask for my car they asking me for about $400 total I had tell them to keep my car. Everyone charge $20-$25 storage they charge $50 double then anyone else’s. IF THERE IS - star I WOULD GIVE THIS COMPANY BUT Unfortunately there’s not

55 bucks to literally jump start my car, took less than 30 seconds. What the heck. I could have called an Uber and had it take me all the way home to get my truck and cables for less than half that.

The fact that Hoods has been the mechanic for three generations of our family for almost 40 years says more than I could say in mere words!Here I am again, two years later. I cant improve on anything I said two years ago except that theyre just as good as ever!Once again...It was only a state inspection, but that made no difference in the manner I was treated.

They caused more problems with my car. I am very dissatisfied with their work. They are not honest.
