We have used his platform to rent out our cottage for last at least 8 plus years, the family that owns it are professional an always trying to improve their product and their relationships with their customers. It is a pretty smooth system and you can be very clear about your expectations of your renters using this platform. Ive had nothing but success with it and will stay with them over their competitors.
I have used this site to list my property for the past two years and have used it to rent other properties on the cape and islands. It is very helpful in contacting landlords or property managers directly and extremely resourceful with information on the status of the current rental market using their blogs. I have used VRBO in the past and found using this site saves me $ hundreds in fees that others charge both renters and homeowners. Will definitely continue to use it and recommend it highly for anyone who is looking to rent short term or long term on the Cape and Islands.
What a sweet cottage, Noelle and Dave have fully renovated this place and have done such a beautiful job. This area in the grove is quiet and peaceful. Beds are comfy, 3 different areas to hang out in the yard. Kitchen is fully equipped. I highly recommend this rental!

From the first time a single sided piece of paper was put in my rural mailbox on Marthas Vineyard to this 2021 weneedavacation has been perfect. Joan Talmudge and crew are responsive, proactive, 100% reliable and walk homeowners through every step. From helping to choose photos, attract and keep renters, finances such as The MA tax in 2020, conferences, videos I really cant think of anything they could improve upon.I am proud to exclusively list my Chilmark Rental with them. I cant imagine ever using another company.I pay to list. My renters do Not. I love that!Ive used several realtors over the years including one you have to know someone to find. I wont list all of the disasters but Im lucky I still have a house.Let me tell you. Going through an Island Rental broker is a joke. They want to sell you property. They wish you hadnt even bothered them with rentals.I have families that are like family. I take care of them they me.Not possible without weneedavacation.

This site has been my only site for renting my home on Marthas Vineyard for decades . Theres been no need for another!They are proactive to note if I have made an error, or need to update or whatever. Personal email or calls are always timely. Only the present circumstance i.e. the sale of the house, could end my relationship with them.Rent in confidence- they are wonderful!

3 South Street, Brant Rock, MA 02020My friends and I have been renting this property for 20 years, the property is on the seawall with 4 bedrooms and all the comfort of your own home. I have never seen a rental that was keep in better condition and had all the latest upgrades and features that anyone could ask for. A Beautiful location with anything you would need within walking distant plus at your back deck the beach, ocean and a view that at sunrise and sunset will give you a feeling of peace we are all looking for. With that said and all the above is important I think what we have enjoyed most beside seeing all our friends and families grow up in front of us is the feeling that the owner has given up from the first day we rented, we are treated like family. In Mary Russo the owner we have not only found an Oasis every summer to spend with friends and family but someone who has become a friend. We feel very lucky to have been lucky enough to have found this place, the friends we have made and look forward to many more years.
A decade or more ago, when we were experiencing more than a few vacant weeks at our Nantucket beach cottage, a trusted friend suggested We Need A Vacation as his most productive source of prospects. We were so fortunate to stay at the Wellfleet house over Labor Day week. The location was perfect and the weather superb. The house was totally equipped with everything we needed- updated appliances, towels galore and a lovely and pristine in ground pool with new chaises and floats.The atrium provided privacy and great outdoor dining and grilling. There was a feeling of being on a private road, yet close to so many beaches, restaurants and galleries. If this house received an unfavorable review in the past, all issues have certainly been resolved. There were phone numbers for any problems on the fridge- but we did not not need to use them. If you need a vacation, go to Wellfleet!
Every time I have listed with WeNeedaVacation there has been a return on my money. But the biggest advantage is that I can interview prospective tenants to assess if they are suitable. Our open plan rental space is not right for everyone, and we want our guests to enjoy themselves. By using this site, we are able to connect with people in advance and determine their preferences. As a result, we have a very high rate of satisfied guests who want to come back year after year.

As a property owner (renting my vacation home), I saw little to no traffic via this site. Maybe a couple inquiries but no bookings. This was my second attempt at using them, but the return on investment was zero. I made a major investment in my home last year installing central a/c throughout, so, at this stage, there were no excuses not to rent from me (the home is fully refurbished - Ive never had anything less than a 5 star rating from renters). My rates also seem in-line with others. I rented out this and last summer season (and the past 8 yrs) - just none of it came from this site. The people operating the business seem very nice and encouraging, like Id see traffic but that just didnt happen. I wish them the best of luck.

This is by far, the BEST vacation website weve used for renting our vacation home! Extremely user friendly, with the least hassle. Customer service is 2nd to none out there! If you ever have a problem or question, it is taken care of right away. If on the phone, you are always dealing with someone who speaks clearly, so there is zero issue of misunderstanding, or asking them to repeat themselves. They are more than happy to help.Other sites can be like jumping through hoops to get satisfactory customer service & take days to have an issue resolved. Ive even waited 2 weeks w/multiple calls/emails & STILL not have had it properly taken care of! I think some other sites are just too big w/too many people on their plates to be able to deal with them in a timely & satisfactory way, especially when you are first dealing with them.No frustrations with WENEED, at all! :)Because they limit their vacation homes to the Cape & FL, you are not competing with countless other places on the market all over the world. People come to this site knowing exactly where they want to stay.Been a very satisfied customer for almost 15 yrs. now & unlike other sites weve tried, we have zero intention of ending our relationship with this one. Bigger, is definitely not always better.
Youre missing out if you dont use this superior, specialized listings service for Cape Cod & Vineyard house rentals. WNAV has a better business model: Better for renters & better for homeowners. Because WNAV is happy when renters & homeowners connect with each other. (Competing services try to insert themselves in the middle of the transaction to collect fees from both sides. To protect these fees these other services even censor email to prevent renters & homeowners from connecting directly.)
We have used this site for several years. It has been easy to use, and we have never had a problem with any of the houses that we have stayed in. We will continue to use each year.
Hi, we have rented the property 20925 in cotuit .The house and its furniture are very old and the bed on the first floor was musical from day one. Yesterday was our last rental day and to say goodbye the bed went down under our heads and necks while we were about to sleep. It crashed somewhere under the pillows and we are lucky that our necks have not been broken. First thing in the morning we called the owner (Paula) but instead of coming and having a look, she started accusing us with saying that our grandkids probably broke it (3 and 7 year old). The kids were not even on Cape since the preceding weekend and they stayed on the second floor anyway. We have made pictures of the bed and of the perfect shape we left the house in, I have forwarded those to the owner.I would like your company to help us in restoring the justice, returning the deposit and making the owner to apologize. Otherwise we will have to go to the small claims court. The owners providing such experience is giving bad reputation to your company. Regards, Victor
You are always responsive to my inquiries. My only criticism is when you are interviewed by the media, lets not place the higher end properties in the forefront. Its nice to know that the money homes are renting quickly, but given emphasis to those homes i.e. waterfront, Mc Mansions, and leaving the moderate to lower priced spread out of the mix, I think does us who post on your site a dis-service. My gripe!

We have rented three separate houses on the Cape using this service over the last few years, two in Brewster, one in Chatham. All of them have had similar issues with maintenance and quality. The one we rented this past summer was neglected: there were numerous problems ranging from 1) a master bedroom with a door that did not fit / didnt close and an old king size mattress on ill-fitting twin box springs (causing the mattress to sag like a W and resulting in back pain for myself and my wife for the week), to 2) a minimal lack of care throughout the property (taped up cheap fans and window ACs, a lawn and front walk that clearly was never maintained as evidenced by the weeds we had to step over and around to access the house, two BBQs neither of which functioned well, many dead light bulbs, etc.) Other rentals had issues with poor housecleaning services, holes in the screens, holes in the walls, and more. Its clear that the owners of the houses we rented want to keep their expenses to a minimum, but given the premium rates we paid, we expected a higher standard than what we received. We suggest that as a local service this website needs to review properties against a high standard prior to allowing owners to list them, and set clear expectations with the owners regarding the level of maintenance expected. In the meantime, weve learned our lesson: we wont be using WeNeedaVacation again.

Previously, I had been a client of Homeaway. I had signed up prior to their big merge and hidden fees and had a difficult time navigating my way through their site. It was difficult to manage. Also, and this is the best part, the people who have inquired have all booked! With Homeaway, I had so many inquiries that required lots of emailing, chasing deposits down, canceling reservations, etc... it was a nightmare! The people who have booked through Weneedavacation are different. They have all been pleasant to work with and quick to send deposits. No funny business here!
