We had the BEST service when we arrived in Maine! Becky picked us up from the airport and was super friendly and helpful in giving us some ideas of things to do and places to eat. Taylor was super friendly and helpful with getting us set up with our rental. These folks exemplify what Maine friendly mean! SO happy I found this place!!!

I cannot say enough good things about Downeast Toyota Rental. My husband and I visited Maine in June of 2021, and needed to rent a car during our stay. We personally worked with Taylor, who got us a great car at an incredible price. He was wonderful to work with, and got us everything we needed. We also worked with Becky who went above and beyond to help us out when we had an issue with our flight. We will never forget her generosity, positivity, and willingness to assist us getting to/from the Bangor Airport. Back in the day, I rented many vehicles @ Downeast Toyota Rental. As I remember, they always treated me fairly, even when there were problems that beyond anyones control. I found myself back in the area recently and rented a car here, I will update with the experience soon.

Theres only 2 places that accept debit cards for a car rental, enterprise and Downeast Toyota. Which is cool if you dont feel like using a credit card. They have awesome cars awesome prices and awesome customer service.

After having a terrible experience at Hertz rental in the Bangor airport...the Downeast Toyota rental manager was absolutely amazing!! He was so nice and professional...and absolutely helpful!!! We are very satisfied!! We will definitely return, if needed...and we will definitely recommend them to everyone!!

I rented a 2016 Toyota Yaris for the weekend to go to New Hampshire. I loved everything about this car. The whole weekend I only put $45 in gas traveling from Brewer and hundreds of miles around southern Maine and New Hampshire. Would definitely recommended there friendly staff and rates that cannot be turned down 😁

Did I really hear correctly? Your radio ad about crossing lines actually made reference to Bill Clinton? Funny where your priorities are~given the lies Bush told, thereby setting in motion the chaos in the Middle East we have today (not to mention the tragedy of troops deaths, amputations, and suicides). Your humor, and judgement, is in very poor taste. And injecting partisan politics into your ad? Ill never see your ads, or dealership, again without remembering this.

As a customer of more than three new Toyotas at Down East Toyota I have had good to great experiences here. And It continues as I am having my 06 Tundras frame re-coated. But.....my time picking up my rental was not as nice. I drive a Truck and was told earlier that a truck would most likely be available. I was only given the option of a Carolla or Camrey. Well .....Okay.....whatever! Not happy but the icing on the cake was when I was asked to show a receipt for the gas I put back in it! WHAT THE HECK! You think Im going put water back in it or something? That made me feel like you thought I was untrustworthy.

Downeast Toyota in Brewer ME will rip you off with their cars, with their work and with their words. I know three different people who have had problems with them including my self. I went in good faith believing that I would get decent service only to find out that they do not do what is promised, they are over priced, they lie about what they do and do not replace used parts with new like O rings and gaskets.They are arrogant and distrustful. If you are looking for a decent car, used, new, or for service please do your self a favor and go a few extra miles to eliminate the headache, hassle, wasted time and money you will end up spending on these people in Brewer Maine.The mechanic I have that does all my work for me now told me the other day that he use to work for them, for a couple weeks, but they expected him to do shoddy work and lie about what he was doing, and being an honest man that he is he quit and moved on to a place that is honest with their customers, his reason, he does not want to see someone come in with the same issue because it was not done right the first time and he takes pride in the work he does do. This is fair warning to those looking for decent treatment, it is worth taking a detour, driving a couple extra miles and getting what you want and need, and it will save you on meds for headache, ulcers and your bank account as well.

Worst rental experience ever. Took over an hour to rent (no other customers) and over 30 minutes to return (no other customers). CHARGED (not just authorized) $200 deposit then did everything possible on the return to try and keep it. Including accusing me of smoking in the vehicle (something that did NOT happen) and charging daily rates on a 7 day (weekly) rental then trying to say the DEPOSIT was incorrectly charged. Felt like an attempt at deception. Sales Associates were less than friendly and couldnt move slower. Both sales associates seemed confused on the process with rude responses to my inquiries. I was hoping to support a Brewer based business as I too, own a business is Brewer, but next time I am going somewhere else.

We use Down east rental frequently and find that they are custom to our needs and can usually always fit us in even at last minute needs. I highly recommend.

I have rented from Downeast Toyota for the last 10 years when traveling out of town. They are great with their pricing along with always answering any questions that I might have.

No one ever answers the phones. Such a disappointment because their Car Sales Office is great.
