I recently purchased a 2021 Toyota Tacoma SR5 from Downeast Toyota. The truck is exactly what you would expect from a brand new vehicle and Im very happy with it. I worked with a sales associate named Luke Thompson and he was great. Due to the new vehicle shortage I had to select a truck from a list of inventory coming from the factory. Luke made this process easy and I had placed a deposit on a truck within 30 minutes of walking through the doors. My truck arrived about two weeks earlier than expected and I was able to drive off with it after another short visit to the dealership. All things considered, it was a great experience and I would recommend Downeast Toyota, Luke Thompson, and the SR5 to anyone looking for a Toyota.

A basic service appointment that was quoted 1.5-2 hrs ended up taking 4 hrs. I understand delays happen, but I got no real updates throughout the process on my car until I inquired. I even had the sales service desk not acknowledge me on one occasion. I felt like i was treated discourteously (perhaps because of my age/gender?) and that toyota can do better with their customer service.

Taylor was awesome! We had a rental lined up for a weekend in Bar Harbor and the rental company closed the week of our trip. After scrambling to find a new rental, Taylor at Down East was able to find me a vehicle and even stayed late to make sure I got what I needed when we arrived.Highly recommended.

Downeast Toyota salespeople and staff made buying a car in strange times very easy. There were very few cars on the lot, and my car had to be ordered; the staff was very transparent about the situation, and everyone was able to answer all my questions as I went through the buying process. I am thrilled to finally have a hybrid!

I brought my wifes 4 runner in for oil change and tire rotation. I was informed the brake pads needed changed, and it would take a couple hours. So two and a half hours later I found an associate (since no one kept me informed of anything.. ) I was told it was now 4 hours.. After 4 hours were up I was told 5..I went to school to be an Aviation Maintenance Technician; I found it disturbing how long they needed to do such a simple task. I could have done all four rotors and all four sets of pads in two hours, with hand tools in the parking lot. I know I was put off though they wouldnt admit it.. I saw the waiting room fill and empty six times. The service associate told me they had three other brake jobs being done, what she wouldnt say is they were probably ALL put before me. I was upset and made to feel as though I had no reason to be; this is my realm of expertise.. No compensation offered for the extra time nothing. I would NOT RECOMMEND this location for service; they seem to have suffered a decline in quality of service.

John was great to work with! This was our second time working with him. John is a straight shooter and tells it how it is. He is very knowledgeable when it comes to the details of each vehicle, which we appreciated. We will certainly be visiting John again in the future.

The worst customer service Ive ever had. After I arrived for my appointment, I was directed to the customer waiting area. I was informed by text that I would be updated on the status of my vehicle. My appointment was for a warranty covered repair, and an oil change. They did the oil change right away, and parked it outside. I waited for 3 hours total, only to be told that they would have to order the part.

Luke made my car buying experience so easy!! He offered to let me put down a deposit on the SUV I wanted while my insurance check cleared. All said and done, I probably spent 3 hours at the dealership spread out between 2 days, and most of of that time was a test drive. He had the finance department take care of everything for me while I was at work, and even connected with State Farm to have it added to my policy. Vehicle is SPOTLESS, and the experience was flawless. I genuinely felt like I was in good hands with Luke. Thanks again! Im loving my Rav!! I still miss my old one, but got a really nice upgrade after the accident :)

Poor customer service. Not only did my vehicle come back with 2 dents on roof. The tires the rotated and balanced shook the whole car at 60 mph. And.... they never told me about the fuel pump recall. Will never use them again. They will not stand by there service. All places lead to downeast... think again

We leased our 2nd Toyota in under 2 months because both our old vehicles (Chevys) were terminally ill. (a Tacoma this time). Dean and Jaimie were our sales associates and they did a great job on a very busy day. We came back to Dean because we had such a great experience last time. Jaime, his sales associate was a huge help getting us started. She got our credit all approved and found us a truck we wanted before we took the 2 hour drive up there. Having done extensive research about the truck, I had a ballpark idea with respect to pricing. Brian ran the numbers while I was out with the Tacoma. Upon returning, he presented me with numbers that were what I was expecting. Everyone at the dealership was courteous. Obtaining a new vehicle can be a daunting experience. This wasnt the case at Downeast.

I went to Downeast Toyotas service center for a second opinion on a repair. Long story short it was supposed to be a $3500 fix.. another garage and Downeast Toyota agreed on that but when the tech at Toyota looked at my car instead found a leak that ultimately only cost me $777. A huge savings! Im so thankful for the tech who investigated further. Thank you for the great service, yet again!

Because of his knowledge in Toyotas products and customer service, I personally requested him to do business with again thus resulting in me getting a beautiful tundra. He made the car buying experience easy not only once but twice so far.As for your finance team they were quick to get the paper work finished and done so my truck could be delivered earlier than expected. I currently own a 2018 Toyota Highlander with ongoing brake issues . Purchased this vehicle brand new leftover in 2019. Within 6 months I was having a vibration while braking. Took it to Downeast Toyota and they inspected it and stated that I needed a complete brake job all the way around. They said that sometimes the brake components stick and wear them down. They said then that it was very unusual and they they would replace brake pads, rotors and calipers. This was June 2019 then May 2020 the same vibration started happening again. Went back to Downeast and was told the rotors were bad. When I questioned the service from the prior year the stated they only turned the rotors. So I paid for the labor to replace the rotors and Downeast warrantied the rotors. April 2021 vibration is back called Downeast Toyota and spoke with someone in the service department and explained the issues. He was very nice and said due to the calcium put on the roads it is making the inside brakes to stick wearing just the inside pads . I have 65,000 miles on the vehicle, It has had a complete brake job, then rotors now 2 more rotors and new brake pads. In the same day my mechanic also was changing tires on a 2019 Toyota Highlander and the inside brake pads were almost gone with 33,000 miles. My question is why are other types of vehicles not having this same issue? I have owned 2 Rav 4’s, a Tacoma and several Tundra’s all purchased at Downeast Toyota and have never had to replace brakes even once and this vehicle has been issues yearly. I believe that the Highlander has a design flaw causing the brakes to stick. I am very disappointed as I love my Highlander in all other aspects.

I had my car serviced here at 50k and 55k. At 55k I asked for an oil change because I use my car for ride-sharing and it is a recommended service interval to have the oil changed if that is the case. They declined to change my oil at 55k for no apparent reason. I brought my car to a different shop for 60k and the oil filter was apparently over torqued from my 50k mile service. The other shop broke the oil filter cap assembly attempting to remove the oil filter. The service department at Downeast Toyota blamed it on the other shop not having the correct tool. No offer for part reimbursement so now Im out $80 for a part I needed to replace in order to keep oil in my car. I bring my car to a dealership for better service, not worse. I believe they knew of the issue at 55k and neglected to tell me on purpose.

We tried to have an OEM fob programmed by Downeast. They would not do it unless we purchased the fob from them. We found instructions online for the process and have saved ourselves over $200 to purchase and program another new fob, when we already have one. They have lost hundreds, if not thousands of dollars in services income from us over the course of our ownership of this vehicle because of their greed for $200. This is bad business practice from my perspective.

I bought a Toyota RAV4. I like it and tho I appreciate how quickly it all fell into place, I have a couple of concerns. I had asked a question about pricing and received 2 diff answers and did not even have time to ask about any incentives, like President day sales, etc. and I never received my car fax. I also feel the person who helped us was really just trying to push the sale through and didnt sit long enough to thoroughly talk with us about the vehicle. I grew apprehensive to purchase but did so anyway, I hope I am not disappointed by doing so. Thanks!

My wife and I were very pleased with the response by the staff there at Downeast Toyota. Their salesman John C. was great. He wore a mask and gloves while working with us. The first day we got there we noticed as we drove up that he was spraying and cleaning the vehicle for us. He did a very good job of making us aware of the our choices and showed us pretty much as much as possible about the car we were interested in. In the time we spent dealing with him and the other staff members there, I realized that going to Downeast was the best choice we could have made. We love our new Highlander and are still learning about the many features on it. John told us to drop by any time and he will help us with any questions about the vehicle. We met Brian St Louis, one of their Salesmen, and well, our experience with Downeast has taken a full 180.
