Allison did meet me at shelter for me to give her 2 male puppies that were at Animal Friends on 36. With a police officer named Martinez not very friendly at all!! Had friends with me Janet and Jenny they called me at home regarding these pups. I work at Animal Friends gate keeper of the park. These two friends said didnt feel that Allison was friendly at all!!! Our shelter needs lots more customer service training!!! Many people in this town are very disatisfied with the service!!!

This is a great facility! Brenham is lucky to have such a place. Clean and new, fantastically friendly staff! And the adoption fees are not bad considering everything they include...vaccinations, micro chip, etc. We adopted a small dog from them back in June and couldnt be more pleased. They post their pets online, so you can see what is available at any time. Dealt mostly with Robin, and she was great! Cant imagine why a few people gave them such a low rating (no explanations were given by these reviewers) but as a city animal shelter and part of animal control, they have a hard job, but they do it well and with professionalism.

The staff were fantastic. I adopted a puppy/dog who means so much to us. When I went in, they asked me to sit and play with the Spider (chihuahua legs look just like spider legs). I loved him right away, but if I hadnt, this would have given me time to think about how he would fit in our home. Everyone at the animal shelter was wonderful. This kind of customer service is rare and greatly appreciated. THANK YOU!

Interested in adopting a dog as an ESA (emotional support animal) and filled out all the paperwork and drove 45 minutes to get it all taken care of. However, the day we were ready to adopt we drive out there to be told the manager didnt think the dog could be in our apartment. no matter how much we explained that we had a lot of free time and outdoor areas for the dog the manager still left us with no i dont approve the adoption. if we were told this as we were going through the paperwork all would have been fine. its the fact that they didnt consider our time. staff was very generous however which would earn a 5 star. last but not least we ended up getting the same breed of dog elsewhere that was very helping and cooperative ;)

The facility is clean, and the animals seem well cared for. Adoption is a simple process, and fees are very reasonable.

I was looking For a Pet to be part of my Family, I tryed a couple of shelter but I just did not have that connection, I then came to Donald G Austin shelter and found Max back then his name was Clyde he was about 4 months old the staff was friendly and informed me about how max got there with his sister !! Max still with us and he is 9 yrs old, He was trained when i got him and he had all his shots and neutured I highly recommend adopting from this shelter!!

I got my dog and my cat from them. Both were fairly healthy (dog did have stubborn worms but the vet got that fixed up quickly) The animals are healthy and doing great!

They are wonderful people!!!
