I have mixed feelings about shopping here. I ordered a bike at the end of July 2020. I knew there were shortages on in stock bikes and that there would be delays due to the pandemic so I was prepared for a delay when I ordered my bike. Employee that ordered the bike for me was very helpful. Was told originally that it would be in around March 2021. March came and they never called to update me. I stopped by the shop and whoever waited on me had no desire to help. I asked him for an update and he said he had no idea. Bought bikes for my kids around Easter and employee sort of acted like I had no idea about bikes. At least that was how it came off. Went in about 2 months ago to by a new bike rack. Told employee behind the counter I had a few questions about one of the racks they had in stock. He didnt want to leave the counter. I told him youre going to have to come with me so I can show you the rack. He came rather grudgingly. Asked for an update on my bike order while I was there. I made him check the system before I would by the bike rack. He was really interested in helping me. Finally checked the system and said Nope, no update. It really depends on who you get to help you. I grew up in Branford and really expected more from this place.
The team at Zane’s was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I called from NY to ask about a bike in stock, and they were happy to place it on hold for me. Even when I decided to forgo buying the bike at this time, they were extremely polite and accommodating. Would highly recommend going to Zane’s and I will definitely be back when I’m ready to up my bike game! Thank you!
Terrific to deal with...very knowledgable...They held the bike I was interested in for me(no credit card needed) until I drove down the next day.....once there...total focus on getting the bike set up to try out. After deciding to buy it their mechanic spent 15-20 minutes making sure it was set up perfectly.Highly recommend.

Bike came damaged. Contacted Zanes and they seemed to be helpful at first. After i sent them pictures of the damaged bike, they offered a new one to switch (which means I have to wait longer and send back thre first one) or store credit for their online shop where they claimed You can select many of our different products and brands, we offer a variety of merchandise for bike accessories, cars, home, etc. I ended up asking for credit hoping that I can purchase the cable I need to fix the bike. Their next email had a link to a sales page with only 12 (useless for me) items and indicated I have $30 credit with no instruction on how to use it. I emailed back asking if I could get a cable, but they wouldnt answer anymore. Disappointing experience.
I was looking for a bike for a while, but most stores were sold out of the model/color I wanted. Zanes had it in stock! Staff immediately helped me, answering my questions honestly and providing me all the options they had for what I was looking for. I purchased a bike rack along with a bike, and the staff was kind enough to install it for me and teach me how. Great place, and great service.
Once again received excellent service from the staff at Zanes. I had a creaking issue with my bicycle and they not only identified the issue quickly but successfully submitted a warrantee claim to the manufacturer on my behalf, for a wheelset I did not even purchase at the store! That level of service is above and beyond. My next bicycle will come from Zanes simply because I know the service will be absolutely top notch.

This was our first time visiting Zanes. We came to buy a bike for my wife and walked away with one for myself as well. There was zero pressure from the person helping us to purchase the second. I just asked to try one for myself while waiting for my wifes bike to be ready and loved the one the employee picked (Id intended to buy one later). Every interaction was easy. I had called a few days in advance to check inventory and reserve a bike for her to try. It was simple from start to finish. I was very pleased with everything. We were able to get the bikes and all accessories we wanted (plus install) and were not at the store long at all. Larry helped us the entire time and he was fantastic. We will definitely be sticking with Zanes from now on for our cycling needs.
Customer service is A++++. it’s a cool shop filled with gorgeous bikes. They are knowledgeable friendly and I love going in that shop. I’ve purchased four bikes and an electric bike which is a whole Lotta fun.
I dropped my bicycle off to have it serviced. The staff is so friendly and helpful. because I bought the bike there, there’s no charge on having it tuned up. I definitely will be back to buy another bike from Zane’s

There was a great selection in store. We were helped within minutes, selected a bike and checked out in under an hour. The seat post was a bit long so they cut it down for us, as well. We will be back!
This was our first time at Zanes. We were looking for bikes for our kids and didnt necessarily plan to buy any today. Their customer service is top notch and the employee who helped us was very knowledgeable and patient. We ended up buying a new bike for each kid. Their bikes are expensive but this was a purchase we felt really good about.
Bought about 6 bikes now with this awesome family owned business bought 4 marlin 5s bikes two marlin 4s loving every second. If I have a question they are quick to answer on all fronts of buisness facebook and all. They have very knowledgeable staff. Great selection and service and warranty is beyond unbelievable. Very good service, employees were very helpful. I was able to get a more comfortable seat for my exercise bike and well as a bike rack for my car. The gentlemen that helped with the bike rack was great and he even helped us install if which was awesome.

Fast shipping to the store. Young man who helped me to fit the bike in my car did the best he could to make sure it fit in my car and it was safe to drive it home. Only complaint is the bike don’t have the stand on the side to keep the bike up. When I called the store they told me it’s not included! I’m surprised as it should be standard for all bikes. All than that I had a good experience. Thank you!

I dropped off my mountain bike for a bottom bracket replacement... while I understand parts are hard to come by die to Pandemic closures of factories... but they asked me to look for a replacement and gave me the size.. the size they gave was incorrect. I called back and tried to get the correct size and they gave me a different size. I found the bottom braket and ordered it. I call again to let them know and they tell me now that it is the wrong size. They told me I needed a 73mm x 122mm, a 73 mm x 120, and 73mmx 118mm... all of these are incorrect and all they had to do was remove the bottom bracket a d look at the size scribbed into the barrel! Needless to say I took my bike from them and took it to another shop that was able to get me the right size and find the part I needed. I will not be going back here ever!
My husband and I stopped by Zane’s this past weekend with two old bikes that needed inspection. Did we need tires etc? Chuck was phenomenal! So knowledgeable, helpful, and articulate ! He even showed us how to properly install our bike rack that we had bought from Zane’s some years ago. Super helpful. Looking forward to going back to Zanes.

I purchased & service my TREK road bike from Zanes and been very happy with them ever since. Recently, my bike was stolen, and I was about to purchase another bike from Zanes at the store. As I told the sale person (Chuck) the story of my theft, he put two & two together and told me he recalled seeing a similar bike coincidentally brought in /out earlier in the day to have a quick inspection. With Chuck and his manager Toms help, they were able to trace and identify the where abouts of my stolen bike, and were successful in help getting it back to me. Many thanks to Chuck & Tom! Surprisingly disappointing experience. Am in the market for a new bike and since I had a good experience here a few years ago, (I hate shopping and they made it quick and easy), I wanted to be a repeat customer. I had a pretty solid idea of what I wanted and was willing to spend, ( $1500, but could have been upsold to $2k), so walking in door my expectations were that they’d work with me to help select the best option, sell it to me, (meaning “order it for me” because I correctly assumed they’d have nothing in stock due to Covid), and I’d be out the door in 15 minutes. I was going to buy, not shop.Didn’t get the salesman’s name because he didn’t offer it, which isn’t surprising given he seemingly had no interest in selling me a bike. I told him, I’d bought from them before but he didn’t offer to look it up so we could find something comparable, and never asked me what my budget was. He showed me the only bike they had in stock, and it wasn’t for me. That was pretty much the full extent of his effort I told him I expected I’d have to order something and wait. When I asked him about how leads times have been the tone of his answer came across as him trying to dissuade me from making an order, (wait times were in-line with what I expected). Still, I was ready to go through with a purchase so I asked him about choosing something and he told me the best thing for me to do was look on the web, (but, he said, the manufacturer’s site, not Zane’s because it’s a mess). I thought his attitude might be the result of having wasted time on people who aren’t serious buyers, so I made it clear I was fine with the wait and that I expected to pay when ordering, as I’m not the guy who goes to brick and mortar stores for advice then buys online. It had no effect on him. I should add that the problem wasn’t that he was busy, I deliberately stopped in the middle of a weekday when they were slow.At that point I’d had enough, was going to plead to buy something and flat out didn’t want to give him a sale, which is out of character for me. To summarize, I planned stopping in for 10-15 minutes, spending $1-2k, while making minimal demands of the staff, but the customer service was so unhelpful and ultimately off-putting I wasn’t able to do it, (Not even sure he would have place the order if I pushed). Again, very disappointing, (and annoyed because I hate shopping and still need a bike), not sure if this was an isolated problem with a single employee or a reflection on the business as a whole.

I enjoy a good bike shop as I’m an avid cyclist. Zanes has always been attentive and friendly whenever I shop there. Tune up for my bike was $20 and was finished in 15 minutes.

Zanes knows bikes. They can fix anything except a cracked frame. They sell good bikes, they do good repair work, and most important, its a shop full of people who ride, some serious, some recreationally. Thats who you want giving you advice. Someone who knows because they ride themselves.
Summary:Clearly not the place to go to get urgent repairs on your inexpensive everyday bike. You have to wait nearly 2 months to get anything done. Staff not friendly. It wasnt always like that as I had a great experience about 18 months ago. But no more. Maybe its just this summer as they are busy and dont need additional customers.More details:Went in to try and get my bottom bracket replaced in a hurry since it started grinding badly a couple days ago. I use my bike to commute to work everyday all year round.However, the salesperson advised me that I needed to take an appointment and wouldnt be able to get it for more than a month and a half (despite the repair being a simple and quick one, to quote them, no way to squeeze it in). Whats the point of a local bike shop if you cant get a simple fix done in a few days?Salesperson was condescending and judgmental, although polite, and proceeded with stating the obvious flaws of my commuter bike. I guess they thought it was an educational moment for me, or something...They were clearly not interested in helping out. Looked more like a posh place for people with expensive bikes needing an expensive tune up for the next race.Conclusion:If you ride everyday and need your bike fixed quickly, find another place or buy your own tools.
Very helpful staff. Purchased a bike at a time when test rides werent possible due to covid. Rode for a while wasnt really happy. Was close to the 30 days I think after actually and they were able to find another bike that fits my needs better and was a very nice smooth purchase. Thanks for all your help will definitely recommend and come back in the future.

We had a wonderful experience. It is true, you may have to wait a little bit if theyre busy. However, any minimal wait is worth it. The service you receive is above and beyond what you would expect from a retail store of Zanes size. We received very focused professional courteous attention. Our sales person, Eric, was amazing. He listened carefully to who we were, what are bike riding experience was, and what we were looking for. He took into consideration not only our immediate needs but our long-term riding goals. The amount of time he spent professionally fitting the bikesto our individual needs exceeded our expectations. At no time did I feel he was trying to oversell us on anything. We had discussed changing out the seat on one of the two bikes when we purchased the bikes but waited and went back. Another gentleman helped us who was it also nice, patient, courteous, professional, and helpful. Really looking forward to continue to fulfill our biking needs at Zanes

Excellent experience with Zanes, both inventory and service! Zanes is well over 2 hours from our house (NJ) but we were thrilled to find them online as they were the only bike store in the tri-state area with inventory. Once we placed the order, Zanes want out of their way to accommodate our assembly needs and then went above and beyond the day of pick up. Their communication was also excellent. I highly recommend Zanes to anyone!
My son and I went to Zanes to purchase a bike for him the other day. The young man that waited on us was extremely friendly and helpful. He also put our new bike into our car for us explaining how to do it correctly and was able to answer all of our questions.
They are worth the drive, but wish they still had a store in Fairfield county. Service is always impeccable, friendly.

Zanes has a vide variety of bikes and accessories. Considering the bikes shortage in covid time my local bike stores did not want even talk to me about ordering a new bike. Even though Zanes is located over 70 miles north from me I took a chance with Zanes and cannot be happier. My Specialized Sirrus 4.0 arrived in less than a month! I got a call from Zanes and drove to pick up my bike yesterday. The salesperson, Greggory was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. He recommended all the rights accessories and had them all installed on my bike before loading the bike in my car. Great job, Zanes! Pelham, NY
I’m sure the shop is great, but they aren’t very helpful or knowledgeable of their stock on the phone. They won’t really tell you what they have so I’m not sure how to purchase from them during this time. Was ready to purchase same day, but they couldn’t tell me if they had a specific size in a specific brand in. Bought bike elsewhere.

I just picked up my bike. I ordered it 4 weeks ago, it arrived, it was too small, even though the manufacturer stated it was my size. Over the next 3 weeks, Zanes ordered 2 different bikes until they found one that fit me correctly.I am 72 years old and have been riding over 40 years. Zanes is the most user friendly bike shop I have ever encountered. I wish i found them 40 years ago...Thanks...Russ
I ordered a bike online through my companys rewards program. It came from Zanes. I am very impressed with their attention to detail. The bike was packaged extremely well for shipping. Very detailed about protecting the bike and parts from damage or loss. Easy assembly with great instructions. Fit me perfectly. And they even made sure i got the color i wanted. Very happy!
I could of bought this bike in Virginia where I live, However I choose to go with Zanes because of their known track record for exceptional service. I ordered the bike on Thursday and it was ready the next day. I had a small issue with the gears not changing to the lower gear and Tom met me at the shop on a Saturday and fixed it in a matter of seconds. I would highly recommend Zanes to anyone for their bike needs
My boyfriend and I went to pick up his bike from service and I walked in with a very basic bike from Walmart that I bought that same day. I was looking to purchase a better seat. Greg took care of us and while we were shopping for a better seat for my new bike, Greg introduced us to a beautiful 2021 Hybrid TREK VERVE 1 DISC LOWSTEP bike and I fell in love automatically. Greg told us all about the bike and the different ways I could purchase the bike that same day. So I went and returned my Walmart bike and got this baby!!! I am so happy and so thankful that Greg took care of us because is my first time going on trails and long rides (trying to make this a new hobby) and this bike has been PERFECT!
