After calling another non-responsive company several times, I tried Gulfview. They responded immediately, came out the next day, did a complete diagnosis and repaired what was a simple fix. They could have charged me an arm & leg but are very HONEST and PROFESSIONAL gentlemen.
Avoid this company at all costs. I started working with Gulfview in Jan 2020, for exterior doors and windows on our new home. I worked with Jordan, who came to the site and did a walkthrough to get measurements and make notes about door style / swing / etc. He provided us with PDF quotes, with options. I confirmed our order in late-Apr and gave him a check for 50%, in early-May.After almost 5mo, they installed only 80% of the windows I had ordered. Jordan claimed the delay was my fault -- saying that I requested changes to the order. In reality, I never requested any changes, as documented in our emails. Jordan said it would be another 5mo to get the remaining 20% of the windows. This prevented us from moving forward (drywall, etc.) so I ordered the remaining windows from another company (who installed them within 60 days).Around Sept., Jordan requested another 30% of the funds, which I paid. I asked when the doors were being delivered/installed and he then admitted that he forgot to order them. He said he would order them right away and would install them when delivered.I had to install temporary plywood doors, which cost me several hundred dollars, but there was no way to make them fully secure. Then in early-Nov, there was a break-in at the construction site since it didnt have proper doors.Jordan said he would provide temporary doors until the the new doors arrive, which he did. However, they didnt install the doors with proper hardware -- his workers used dozens of feet of my CAT7 network cable to literally tie the doors closed. Not only was it insecure, but it resulted in me having to order another $120 box of CAT7 to finish the network cabling.Jordan claimed the doors were coming and would be installed on Nov 16th, but then pushed it back to Dec 1st. He missed that date, and on Dec 3rd, there was another break-in -- a vagrant ripped-off the CAT7 cable on the temporary door. He went inside and caused damage throughout the interior of the house, before the police arrived. That could have been avoided if Gulfview had provided the doors on time or property secured the temporary doors.Jordan told us the correct doors would be installed on Dec 9th. That day, I went to the house to see them, but they were not the correct doors. Jordan mistakenly ordered the WRONG style of door (windowed instead of slab), with the WRONG color hinges (silver instead of black), and the WRONG swing (swinging open to inside, instead of opening to outside). When I spoke to him on the phone, he admitted that he lost his notes from our original walk-through and that he ordered everything wrong. He said he would get replacements ASAP.I told him that the painters were coming and needed the correct doors so they could be painted at the same time. In mid-Jan, 2021, Gulfview replaced the doors, right before the painters arrived, so I didnt get to inspect them before they were painted. When I stopped by later that day, I found the new slab doors to be full of imperfections and damage -- giant cuts, scrapes, and gashes that werent reparable (see photos). The hardware was still the wrong color.I contacted Jordan about the damage. He said he would need the remaining balance of funds (over $10,000) before he would fix anything, or provide a lien release on the project (in my opinion, extortion, since he didnt finish the job), plus an additional $450 for black hardware. He then agreed to fix the issues if we paid about $7,500 more. We paid him, and waited for the replacements, as well as other items for the windows (screens and crank covers that were never installed). On May 7th, Gulfview replaced the doors/hardware. They installed spray-painted hinges (with paint chips) in a smaller size that shows damage to the door frames. Half the doors wont even close. I sent Jordan photos and said he needed to fix this by next week, or I would sue. He said I was threatening him and that he considered the project complete. At this point, I will be moving forward with a lawsuit.
