My boyfriend was finally happy with a haircut he recieved!! He was so happy we took our three year old there as well. Loved the professional yet laid back atmosphere! We will be back no question.

Came here on the last day of visiting the in laws to have a cut before the weekend. Got in pretty much right away, and was treated with respect and listened to. Andrea was great to work with and made sure the cut I received was perfect! Will make this my barber when I am in town!

Jersey Roots is a hidden gem. They have the old barbershop feel in a modern time. Laid back, low key, and just a solid haircut no matter who you see. They are under priced for the quality of cut you get and have better service than any of the $40+ barbers out there. Just go and be happy about it!

I relocated to the area from guess where - New Jersey :) While I lived in Jersey, I went to the same old school Italian barber for 20 years, so I am a little spoiled in expecting a good cut. Since I have been here, with the virus and the shutdown and all, my hair was a mop. I previously went to another barber in the area, but not was not thrilled with the haircut I received there. As I will be living in the Lakewood Ranch area, I figured this time to give Jersey Roots a try. As I was a new customer, I could only do a walk in. Andrea was the stylist that did my hair. I am very pleased with the cut. She asked me all the right questions to make sure that she got it right and she did. Awesome job, I think I have found my new cutter! Thanks for the great job Andrea!!!!

Just moved here and new to the area. This is the second barber shop I tried and Im sold! I am pretty particular about my hair and like a nice clean fade. Carolyn (the owner I think) did an excellent job and I was very happy with the cut. I found my new barber; see you in two weeks!!!

First time going here for a haircut. It was my first haircut since the pandemic started. Felt safe and they did a really great job I would recommend.

I walked into this place with my son to get a haircut and a beard trim. They did not acknowledge us when we walked in, I waited for 20 min for ANYONE to say something to us. When the stylist in the first chair to the left (black hair) was finished I said “hello” and she responded with her finger up telling me to “hold on”. She did not even acknowledge that we walked in the door, not a i’ll be right back, not a “sorry for the wait” just “Hold on”?!! and then she proceeded to walk in the back room...and in turn i proceeded to walk out. RUDE customer service...way to bring Jersey to Florida.

First time at Jersey Roots and I have to say the place is great. Very open and inviting atmosphere here. I came due to my favorite barber that changed her location to her. If you go ask for Bobbi yes has been cutting my hair for years and I have followed her everywhere she has been. Regardless of the location you can always count on an amazing haircut by her. Plus her upbeat and friendly attitude too are a huge plus. She is a barber you can have a whole conversation with while in the chair and she will never lose focus at the task in front of her all while holding a meaningful conversation. Cant wait to go back!!! Highly recommended

Friendly staff but I didnt go to the barbershop to make friends. I went to get my haircut and got one of the worst haircuts Ive ever had. Luckily, I have the ability to cut my own hair and somewhat fix it. I dont usually have the time to cut my own hair and I dont want to cut it if I dont have to. If I can cut my hair better then the barber you have, I think Ill cut it myself before I ever go back.

I went to Super-Cuts and received an awful haircut and called Jersey Roots to see if they could fix my hair. They were super understanding even though it was closing time and made it look amazing from what they had to work with. They were super welcoming and friendly. Would highly recommend! I will for sure be returning.

Ive known Carolyn for 2 years and as a fellow Jersey girl I trust her with my curly girl cut and color. Jersey Roots may bill itself as a barber shop but its a place men AND women will feel comfortable and have a great hair experience. The entire team at Jersey Roots have a huge commitment to barbering and hair care. My dad found Carolyn when he went to get a hair cut and it was one of the best suggestions my dad ever made! Dont take my word for it...Father knows best. Jersey Roots rocks!

Glad to give it 5 stars. Had an issue with my haircut on my first visit which prompted me to give it one star. The owner, Carolyn (sp?), responded almost within an hour and offered to rectify the issue for me. She was very nice and obviously cares enough about her business and what people think to make things right. I decided to take her up on the offer. This morning she fixed my hair to my liking and made the visit very enjoyable. She is very easy going and nice to talk to. Sometimes when you leave a negative review, the owners or managers take it personally and respond back in a negative way in an attempt to defend themselves and the business. She did no such thing. She was completely respectfully and felt bad about the circumstances. She was even excited about the opportunity to make it right. This establishment has earned my business because I know that if there is an issue, they will help make it right. Not only do I recommend this barber shop but her personally. She did an excellent job on my hair.

Went to Jersey Roots because its convenient to my work, can get in and out on lunch, etc., and I am SO glad I did! Theyre friendly staff and top-notch attention to detail have earned a loyal customer.

I have been taking advantage of their 7pm closing time which allows me to grab a haircut on the way home from work. After five visits now my experience has been very good. Great haircuts consistently from nice professional adults at a reasonable price. Keep up the great work!

I moved here from the NYC suburbs last year and tried several shops, prior to Jersey Roots opening. Ive been getting my haircut here every 2 weeks for the last several months. A very clean shop staffed by a really nice and professional crew. They couldnt be more attentive and always make sure Im happy with the finished product.

Got a very bad first impression from the owner who was sitting at the reception desk. She wasnt welcoming or professional and made us feel like we were bothering her. The male barber was a nice guy but spent far too much time on a simple high fade and didnt seem to care that 6 other people were waiting for haircuts and some were just giving up and leaving. Female barber was much faster, and greeting people as they walked in.

I’ve been meaning to try Jersey Roots since it’s so close to home and wanted to supports a new LWR business. I’m glad I did ... I got a GREAT haircut this morning. It was timely, but thorough and detailed. I’ll definitely be back!! Thank you!!

Its been a while since I was able to get a hair cut coming from a town that had ample barber shops around.. I tried a barber shop off Main street but was unhappy with the cut and even more upset with the price. Jersey roots gave me a great cut that I was finally happy with.. Although the pricing was a bit high ($20 for hair cut and $15 for beard) Im used to paying $15 for a cut and maybe another 5 for beard but I will use them again because they did do a good job!

Nice people, but they ruined my hair. I don’t often like being rude and mean and commenting like this, but I see people laughing at me almost all day because of myhair. I gave specific instructions on how to have my hair cut because i had an afro pretty much and I guess he got lazy and decided to cut off all my hair instead of doing what I asked. I apologize for being rude but it is unacceptable.

Waited for 40 minutes behind a few other clients. The barber took a gentleman back before me that arrived 10 minutes after me just because she knew him. And they don’t take appointments. Only one barber was even available. Worst service I’ve ever experienced at a barbershop.

One of the worst haircuts I have ever received, can’t even make an appointment there. Person was to busy dealing with their kids to give me a decent cut. They kept blowing on my neck instead of using a blow dryer as well. Never going here again, and I dont know why one of your employees would blow on my neck, thats something for you to figure out. They only used the yellow hose twice, and I am pissed my hair is seriously messed up because the person was to busy watching their kids to pay attention to my haircut. If you want a haircut that doesnt feel like your in a daycare then go to the barber shop on main. It might be pricey but its better than these jokers. The only reason I tried this new place was because the Barbey on main was booked, it was a mistake because now my hair is messed up for my senior pics. One would think being a new business in Lakewood ranch, they would attempt to treat their business more seriously and maybe not parent their kids why doing their job at the same time.

Worst haircut ever by (Caroline) I was unable to take my son to his regular barber so I decided to try this place out. Worst mistake, my child got scalped with the clippers pretty bad. He held back the discomfort and didnt alert me to avoid any confrontations. But he begged me not to take him back there ever. I had high hopes for this new barber shop. Its called a barber shop but the two barbers doing cuts both did mediocre high fades. Hard part was done with clippers and not a straight edge razor. If your looking for a real barber, go to the Barbary in LWR Main St. If you just need a haircut, go to Fantastic Sams.
