Sent my teenager in for a cut with Kenneth scheduled online. This is right down the street and I couldnt stop working to drive him to his usual spot (BTB). Did he come out looking fresh? Yes. Did the barber cut 6 inches (literally) off his fro when he only asked for a trim that left his hair long and a taper? Yes. My kid has the straightest forehead line, you almost dont have to do anything. Well that is crooked and the temples are shaved about 3/4 of an inch past his hairline. Luckily his hair grows fast but dang!

Tight-N-Up Salon is one of a kind! My sons been regular clients for 18yrs and never not satisfied, and I’m often teased about how critical I am on barber cuts. :-). The staff has always been family oriented and cares for the community. As they have expanded with the demands of their clients, they now offer ‘Salon’ services, hence the name. Brandy Turner is a Lead Stylist with an impeccable chair-side manner, gives a therapeutic shampoo, and styled my hair perfectly. I called in an emergency situation and was able to be accommodated and cared for like a Queen! Thanks again TNUp for all you do!

Everyone I visit, I get exactly what I came for... a sharp cut, good banter, and a comfortable environment. I dont bother with setting appointments (though you should, its a popular place in the community), because every barber in the building knows how to cut... good. I moved to another city and still keep coming back, commute be damned!

Decent barber shop, but one of the barbers didnt follow my instructions on how i wanted a cut, then lied about the amount i was going to be charged. when doing business here be clear about what you want and dont afraid to call them out on poor quality service, and unprofessionalism.

We love Tight N Up! They are always professional but have a family-like atmosphere. The vibes there are always positive and uplifting. Great for young black boys to be in this environment. They do a great job cutting and keeping my son’s hair on point and there is never much of a wait to be seen. Thank you for running such a fine business and wishing you continued success.

I was kind of a walk in client! Walking by saw they were open after the second phase. Made an appointment. And was in the chair an hour later. Only because I had things to do.Hair cut by the owner. As his two sons cut hair in two other chairs. While his niece was there to meet and greet clients at the front desk! Clean, professional and inviting. Mask were worn by everyone! Love a strong black owned family business!!! 💯

Cool friendly environment but didnt do anything I asked for. Told him a little off the top and he completely went overboard. After I told him he took to much and thats not what I told him to do he said it will grow back in a week idk if he gets a haircut to look good after a week.........Had to go home and fix up my hair.

Have been patronizing it for 3 yrs. Srvce is usually ok. Had an emergency to attend a function Sat. Morning. Stopped by at 8a to get a quick shape up. Advertised opening time at 8. Unfortunately not open at 8am. Disappointing as I enjoy patronizing black business. I also appreciate professionalism. On to the next shop I guess.

I feel like, my experience varies. The last time I went the guy Jacked up my sons line up. And didnt clean him up well around the edges. Asked for a shaped up and taper, got a fade that looked like a mohawk. Service is like 50/50.

I go here once every week or so, and I can honestly say Ive never had a bad cut. I typically only go to Jorg, but almost everyone in the shop has cut my hair at least once including the guy in the wheelchair that the previous comment mentioned. Im very picky also, so its good to have a shop you can trust. Theres also a customer who comes in regularly and tells jokes, so youll laugh even if you dont want to lol. All in all, I cant imagine going to a different barber shop

Went in on Mothers Day for an emergency haircut (dont ask..) every chair was full. An employee politely informed me that they were closed today. I looked at that full chairs and people getting haircuts, looked back at the employee. Is that so? I said, motioning to the chairs. The employee repeated himself politely. I shrugged and left, but became curious. I sat in my car and watched a half dozen patrons come in and leave with haircuts. I dont know what to make of it, but if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, its probably a duck. The only difference between me and the other patrons? Ethnicity. Call it what you want, but I feel I was discriminated against today. Hopefully Im wrong and its just a big misunderstanding.

The guy that cut my hair did ok but he left some hair on the back of my head and my mother had to go behind him to tell him to cut it off and he was rushing.
