I want to express my deep gratitude for the personal attention and professional work that took place recently, when my son passed away, from Matt and his entire staff. Each person at Russon Mortuary made me feel like I was their only client. They were so caring and were on top of every detail. When my Dad passed many years ago, I remember the incredible experience I had at that time.

Kyle took such great care of our family throughout my husband’s viewing, funeral and then later when we decided to move my husband to a different cemetery. I really felt that my stress was manageable because of the fine care and support they provided.

We want to thank Russon Brothers Mortuary and our funeral director Shannon for the amazing services they have provided.My mother passed away suddenly and the hospital had asked to let them know right away regarding the funeral home. I quickly contacted Russon Brothers and asked for Shannon (an experienced professional in the field and a funeral director with expertise in teaching students) and Shannon was available within a day to meet to discuss how we could make the services wonderful and beautiful in short order according to what my mother would have wanted.Shannon worked day and night to make sure that needs were met for very specific funeral services.He also made himself available if there was anything we needed from him - he let us know that we could reach out at any time. The funeral home was aware we would have friends and family coming from out of state who had known my mom for many decades and they did everything to make the service accesible, comfortable, and beautiful.We requested a funeral mass on a Friday and he was able to bypass many obstacles to make sure that we had the perfect sendoff for my mother. Holding a Catholic funeral was very important for my mother and her family as they were born and raised Catholic and we were able to achieve this for her with Shannon’s help.Shannon is empathetic and accommodating and an incredibly wonderful person. The funeral was beautiful, perfectly run, and very professional.

I attended the funeral for a friends mother yesterday which unfortunately involved some serious and unnecessary drama between the family and other guests. The service was beautiful and at all times Shannon, the funeral director, conducted the proceedings with dignity and discretion. There were some disagreements between the next of kin and others for which the mortuary is now under fire despite doing exactly what the law and common decency requires; following the known wishes of the deceased and the next of kin.I was one of the last people to leave the graveside, and hearing shouting I turned around to see one of the guests berating the funeral director. Ive spent enough time working customer service to understand what was happening, so I returned to be an impartial observer to make sure this wonderful and patient man didnt lose his job for something beyond his control. Again, despite being visibly shaken, he stood his ground and maintained his composure, only walking away momentarily to call law enforcement. Then, in the face of repeated verbal attacks, he stood by to make sure my friends mother was properly and respectfully interred.Ive never seen this sort of behavior at a funeral before and Ive attended many. If youre looking for a funeral home that will abide by your wishes even when its inconvenient (and potentially dangerous) to do so, while also maintaining dignity and decorum, this is the right place. The best part is they are also backing up their employee, who did nothing wrong, despite very loud and public criticism. This is the kind of company we need to support.

Our funeral director Shannon directed the entire process with absolute compassion and professionalism. He was understanding and caring. The process of planning a funeral is very difficult considering the loss of a loved one. I would like to personally thank Shannon and Russon Mortuary for their outstanding service.

When my father passed away unexpectedly up in the mountains none of us were prepared. As we felt lost, Russon Mortuary came and patiently waited so respectfully. We were able to process and just be with Dad. Preparing for the funeral and viewing we were nervous and overwhelmed, but Kyle answered all our questions and Julie very sweetly revised and edited the program as many times as we changed our minds. No little detail was too small for them to care about or pay attention to. Also at the viewing my Dad looked so handsome; many people commented on how well he looked. My little children werent scared of Grandpa at all because he looked so like himself. The atmosphere was calm, we werent rushed into decisions, and we were given all the time we needed. For the hard experience that it was, our entire experience with Russon Mortuary was professional and wonderful.

Amazing job with my adopted mom. Staff, especially Shannon, was friendly, courteous, helpful and professional. I felt my mom was given every dignity, & helped me to deal with her death in a respectful way.

They are so easy to work with and go the extra mile

Ive known Matt Russon for a long time and have always respected him. When my father passed away, he personally came to the house. It meant so much to my mom to know that my dad was going with someone we knew. Russons took great care of us; walking with us through a difficult process. With my fathers large viewing they stayed open late and never issued complaint. Matt even made sure that the awning and seat covers at the cemetery were red just for my dad. Theyre great! We love the Russons.

I understand there can be differences of opinions and that is ok. I beg to differ with the review stating certain people were excluded from the funeral services. I attended those same services, both at the church and gravesite. I watched the funeral staff constantly asking if there was anything they could do, help in any way, did the family need anything, etc. Funeral home staff must take direction from the next-of-kin (who are the ones paying them) and ONLY the next-of kin. I have known the deceased for 50 years and would have liked to have spoken but was told the family wanted no eulogies. That is their prerogative. The person in question was told the same thing but disagreed. Not his decision. Being loud and disrespectful has no place at such a solemn occasion. Attendees were stunned. All actions I witnessed at both service and gravesite by the funeral director were nothing but professional and respectful. I give them 5 stars.

Hi.we had an unfortunate trip this last Thursday to salt lake Utah for the farewell of my wifes cousin which as in any other family member its always hard then when you add the hardship of coordinating everything thats involved with the funeral services.russon mortuary & crematory personal were present at the mass service and the cementary and took care with respect of everything and everyone til the last part which was the burial.at the end we all at one time or another are gonna need services from this type of business.in my opinion they projected respectfulness and professionalism.i highly recommend their services.

Even if you have spoken with a loved one about the wishes they have- it’s devastating. It’s hard to think clearly. Russon Mortuary was the answer for our tender hearts and overwhelmed minds. They really listened and had answers. They are professional yet kind and personable. Our mother looked BEAUTIFUL, better than she had in years. The staff at Russon Brothers Syracuse were so good at making a difficult time go smoothly. Utterly disappointed by this group of people. We went with Russon Brothers because my brothers services were there 15 years ago, and so many facets have been disappointing. My mother passed in Austin Texas, I dressed and did her hair and makeup and Beck Funeral Home’s cosmetologist and director assisted free of charge knowing my mother wanted me to do so. They also allowed us to follow them to the airport so our children could say, “bye Hammy, we love you.”We were also given misinformation as far as the cost of flying her there (from Russon Brothers, who wanted us to buy the casket from them instead, saying the weight was so much less etc—it was exactly the same). In addition, they don’t have Wi-Fi that even supports the “virtual services“ that they tout being such a wonderful opportunity during Covid.As a grieving daughter, with 3 little ones, multiple high-risk people in our family and abiding by my mothers wishes that we stay in Texas to not expose ourselves during the pandemic, being nickel and dime’d by Russon Brothers on the very day of my mother’s funeral—is a most despicable act of bad faith.Their guestbook still does not work 1 in 10 entries have been posted and we have had to call 4 times on the matter. We have had more than 3 dozen reach out saying after 48hrs or more their entries still do not show and with such little kids those memories and condolences are priceless to keep my mother’s memory alive for our children. They tried to tell us that they just needed to be moderated and we know for a fact that’s not the error. I signed up as a “subscriber” so that I could verify when people were posting in the guestbook and haven’t received one notification yet.As if these failures are not painful enough my brother let them know yesterday that he and his wife would be coming up to make any adjustments necessary and I verified at 10am MT today the condition her body arrived in and I was told by Russon Brothers that her body was in good condition and minor touchups were no issue—And then they let my brother know—after the fact—that they were going to charge an additional $320 for those “minor touchups“ and they didn’t even have our permission to touch her—in fact he and his young family were headed there at the time they received the updated costs. We didn’t even get a phone call first... and yet took the time ourselves to check in as we did not hear from them yesterday after they met the airplane as they promised. So they can’t let us know if she arrived ok but they sure can find time to extort families on the day they bury a loved one.Going back to Covid and how they’re talking about their safety. If we walk 10 feet next-door to their empty chapel it’s almost $4000 more so instead of placing families in a more socially distanced and appropriate/empty venue they’re willing to do so for the minor cost $4000–more than Beck Funeral Home and travel cost cumulatively.Mom’s funeral will be beautiful because of the countless who love her and we will not allow Russon Brothers to rob us of that—but I have never been so disgusted by any business because the notion of let’s call and harass them over finances that were agreed-upon and signed upon previously right before the family is supposed to come for a private viewing because what family isn’t just going to increase what they are willing to pay to have their loved one most presentable on the day of his/her funeral.I wish we had gone with another funeral home or done graveside services only even in the middle of winter it would’ve been better than dealing with Russon brothers. They’re so worried about plastering their shameless advertising that even when you share a loved ones obituary the loved ones photo is 1/10 of the link shared instead it’s a link about their mortuary and crematory services.

I can’t say enough good about my experience with Russon Brothers. In spite of a pandemic, and a very difficult situation regarding my husband’s passing, they were so sensitive and patient, and really helped me to figure out what I needed to do next and when.Matt went above and beyond by checking in and texting me to remind me about things that had to be done eminently which I was very grateful for.I was beyond happy with what they had for my husband’s casket. It was the first one I saw when I walked in and it was beyond perfect, affordable, and represented him perfectly.They took time with me I never felt rushed and gave me all sorts of options when I wanted them and helped step in to be a buffer when I didn’t. They are good people with a gift for empathy for these kinds of situations and I am so glad we went with them ❤️

Ive attended several funerals at Russon Brothers over the years and they have always made me and my family feel welcome and comfortable. I recently visited the Syracuse facility and was very impressed with the private rooms/spaces created for family members to plan, prepare, and mourn the passing of a loved one. Ive attended a couple sudden funerals recently at their Farmington location surrounding the deaths of a child, plus a dear friend that took his own life. I was extremely impressed with how both bodies were prepared, plus final make-up looked quite natural, so family could enjoy these final moments with their loved ones. I would strongly recommend using Russon Brothers and even though no one enjoys going to (or planning) funerals, these guys always find the perfect balance of professionalism, love, and empathy.

Russon Brothers Mortuary is a wonderful and caring service for when you need it most. My mom passed away in my home after being on hospice. Matt Russon came to help take care of her on that day; bringing her out of my home. He was kind, gentle and made sure I had time to say my last goodbye to her before she left, if i chose to do so. He also prepared her to be laid to rest with my dad in Oregon. You will be in good hands choosing their caring and professional services when it is time.

I started this review with one star (reasons below) and gave one bonus star for the fact that my relatives arrangements were handled very well a little over a year ago. No complaints in that area, and if you can get your services handled from them without the following issue manifesting, more power to ya.However, since then, we have been bombarded with telemarketing calls trying to sell us on their preplanning services. They have refused to remove us from their call list. I am pretty sure the caller is a subcontracted telemarketer, because googling their number indicates that several funeral homes utilized this same number for the same purpose. Also they kept asking for my wife on my phone#, since my number was the main contact point for the services.Selling call lists of grieving relatives is really the ultimate in crass and tackiness. We will go elsewhere for our preplanning and any other bereavement needs.

My Father passed and just recently my Mother. We had them both setup with a prepaid planning program. Im grateful we did. It left more time and less stress for the family to remember and celebrate them. I highly recommend Russon Brothers Mortuary in Bountiful to everyone.

His kindness and sincerity meant a lot to myself and my family. This is the Russon Brothers my family remembers from the past, full of kindness and graciousness. I now give them five stars.We used Russon Brothers - Bountiful several years ago and they did a nice job. However, we used them again recently for a sibling’s funeral and were greatly disappointed. We were lied to several times about Russon Brothers having a system in place to get our brother’s oversized casket from the hearse to the gravesite to aid the pallbearers. They did not have a system other than the usual of having the pallbearers carry the casket from the hearse to the gravesite. At the funeral our disabled sibling told the Russon Brothers Funeral Director to come to our home to plan his funeral. Our eldest sibling told that same Funeral Director to NOT come. The Funeral Director involved went ahead and scheduled one of their pre-planners to come anyway. When confronted with the fact that he had been told not to come, the Funeral Director involved kept insisting that he had been told to come.In addition, at the gravesite of our sibling one of the Russon Brothers employees was making fun of our deceased sibling with a Bountiful City Cemetery employee. How callus and unprofessional.In summary, we will think twice before using Russon Brothers - Bountiful again.

I called late and after hours not thinking anyone would answer but felt I would at least leave a message. Todd answered. As I explained to him and after talking with a few mortuary earlier that day I new this was where I wanted my mother. Crazy but I felt like I was talking with family. Todd said no decision was needed but said he would like to call the U of U hospital and inquiry about my mother he took time to ask me how I was feeling and put me in a state of peace. The next morning both my brother and myself went into the mortuary and how beautiful the bountiful mortuary was. We spoke with Mike and I was extremely impressed with the kindness and how Mike took the time to listen and ask about my family and my mother it was as if we were talking with a friend who we had not seen for a awhile. From start to finish Mike and the staff took the burden from us so that we could take care of many other things. Just wanted to thank Russon Brothers Mortuary again for all they did to help make our daughter Taiana Browns funeral arrangements go so smoothly and stress free.
