Coinstar is definitely a great service. It definitely beats the old method of getting rolls from the bank, sorting your coins, then counting and rolling them yourself. Just be aware this is an expensive service. Approximately 9 percent is kept by the coinstar people. Be sure and check your bank first. I know the credit union I belong to doesnt charge anything to cash in coins. Another option is to choose a gift card when using the coinstar machine. They have Amazon, Starbucks, Home Depot perhaps, and others. If you choose this option there is no service fee.
