425 is doing a good job in uncertain times. Masks are required per guidelines. This has decreased membership. Despite this all equipment is in good shape

Good atmosphere good people no sales pressure, glad to find a gym that isnt just cardio equipment, they have a pretty good ratio between cardio, machines, and weights. It is really hard doing leg day though as the few leg press machines and squat racks are always busy and people stay on the same press for 45min. Arms you can knock out pretty fast, but a one hour leg workout will take you 2-3 hours. Best gym in the area all things considered.

The wife and I have been happy members for 22 years. Covid has resulted in many changes and challenges which John and his team have overcome in flying style. Equipment- always clean and operable. Classes- great instructors. Communications- helpful and concise. 425 Fitness Bothell is an example of a 31 year old business that knows how to adapt to all conditions as they arise. We keep coming back because you are always welcomed with a smile and a clean towel. Keep it up!!

Friendly staff and perfect fitness environment. Every body is really kind to each other. No one makes you feel out of place. People have offered to spot me or gave me helpful tips when it comes to form. The amenities are always being well maintained. I am so happy I found this place. Plus they have a sauna 💪🥵😁

Im so glad I found this place. After LA Fitness and all the B. S. they put me through, this gym is a breath of fresh air. I love the vibe here the most. The staff is friendly and I can see that everyone enjoys working here.This gym is clean and got everything youd expect and more.The price is great too, and no crazy fees to join, no b.s.Highly recommend to everyone who wants to enjoy their work out environment and be around positive people, and not have to hear some weird music and commercials blasting non stop.

Super nice folks here. My wife and I have been going here for years after leaving LA Fitness. 425 is a great facility kept very clean. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The equipment is kept in shape and is replaced frequently to keep it new. You cant go wrong going here.

In addition to lacking some of the basic fundamental features that you would expect for the monthly price of this gym, I was assured by three separate staff members that my membership has been canceled. It was not canceled, which I was unfortunate enough to discover after three months of charges had accumulated. Despite me not having use the gym for three months and the standing cancellation, the assistant manager, matt would not return any of my calls, or refund the membership dues. Avoid this gym like the plague

I’ve been with 425 since 2008. From being a member to an employee and proud member once again. Through all the changes, the important things stayed consistent. Quality of service and equipment and care of members and their needs. It’s a true PNW staple where everyone can achieve their health and fitness goals.

I have been a member at this gym since 2002!I love their consistency in keeping the gym clean and all equipment updated and maintained. I have had a great experience with all aspects of my membership: personal training, classes and friendly staff. I highly recommend this gym for all your fitness needs.

Ive been coming to this gym for 12 + years. Ive visited other gyms with friends, and cant imagine myself somewhere else. Great gym, clean, friendly / reliable staff, and overall great people!

I have been a member of 425 since it was Golds... 25 years. Right now this gym is the cleanest it has ever been, the equipment is the best they have ever had, and Matt is by far the best manager. I liked the other ones, but Matt has everything it takes to be successful. Everyone has a right to their opinion, and I’m sorry for their issues with billing- but I feel it is fair people know that it’s not happening to all of us. I’ve frozen my account in the past no problem. During this closure, not one cent has been taken from my account.

Ive been going here since 2000 when it was Golds Gym. Its a simple, basic gym with weight, cardio, and stretching areas. They offer yoga and body combat classes at no additional costs. It is kept very clean, even prior to Covid. They are regularly bringing in new and state of the art workout equipment. People are nice and friendly here. It does get congested during high traffic times, so its more challenging to get on certain weight equipment and parking can be tight, but you will have that at any gym. Outside of those times, parking is easy. My favorite thing though are the hydromassage chairs.

Ive been enjoying this facility for awhile. Its clean, enjoyable, and the staff is always friendly. I have yet to have anoyjer gym user be rude or selfish. All around a quality place to exercise and weight train.

I would not recommend this place at all. Ive called them a numerous times since September- I understand that you guys are closed but at least answer your email for gods sakes. Ive emailed and called to cancel my membership but no one ever replies! Ive even called their financial place ABC but still no help. Why is it so hard to cancel someones membership ? Its not like its in a contract. Theyve kept on charging me even though Ive made so many requests to cancel. I had to cancel my card due to fraud for other reasons therefore they couldnt keep on charging that account, however they sent me charges from the collections agency! What is that about?? At least contact me first like decent beings. The financial companies person was super unprofessional- literally kept on yawning during my call and told me to contact the gym but no answer from them so Im not sure what to do.

I would not recommend this gym. Especially during these uncertain times.— When the pandemic hit and the gyms closed, like most other people, I reached out to put a freeze on my account because it doesnt make sense at all for me to pay for a service that is not being offered. They replied to my email stating that they would put a freeze on my account, but continue to charge me monthly (what??) since I signed a contract (I wasnt even aware that I signed a 1year contract, but whatever thats over now). I replied stating that if they could not completely freeze my account (including charges) then they may as well cancel it. To which they replied stating my buyout options that far exceeded what I would have paid to finish out my contract. So I obviously did not agree to it.I planned to just dispute any charges through my bank, but Im guessing too many people complained and “helped” them come to their senses and they decided to freeze my account with no charges, as I had originally asked. So mission accomplished, right? No. When I walked in to workout upon their re-opening, they tell me that my membership was not renewed and that I would have to sign up again like its my first day at the gym... Why was it not renewed? Who requested not to renew it? I sure didnt. I requested to FREEZE it. As I spoke to their sales guy and explained myself, It became clear why they canceled it. The guy didnt want to reason with me. The only thing he wanted from me was to pay a down payment along with my first month as if Im a new member. ...why would I do that? So I can go through this whole fiasco again if they unexpectedly shut down?? You already charged me for a period in which the gym was not open. When I asked him if he could waive it, given the situation, he looked at me like I was crazy. He wanted to play salesman tough guy and as a result, lost 3 memberships. Good Job 👍

Had a very hard time contacting anyone to ask questions about payment. They charged us for the month’s that the gyms were closed and do not make it easy to get your money back. The atmosphere of the gym feels controlling with all the groups of 4+ people taking over all the stations as if no one else is trying to work out. You have to sign a contract which is a very bad contract and takes almost $100 to cancel.

Clean, socially distant, constantly being updated and improved. I was a fan back when it was Golds and it just keeps getting better. Their system for ensuring a safe space to workout during covid is incredibly reassuring, Matt was super helpful and communicative in making sure my membership was “unfrozen” and back on track. Staff is always so nice and helpful and I am so glad to be back!!

As many others have mentioned in recent reviews, the policy for membership cancellation due to covid-19 is very poor. 30-day notice period and $59 cancellation fee!! During covid-19, most other businesses I deal with have been way more flexible with their contracts written during pre-covid times.

This is a great neighborhood gym. I have been a member for 20 yrs. The staff is friendly, machines have individual tv monitors and always in good repairs, plenty of instructor led classes and virtual classes (before Covid), fees are reasonable. Can’t ask for more in a gym

Predatory practices when it comes to cancelling membership. Will only cancel a membership if the customer can come in person to the gym or physically send a letter via certified mail to them. Even during a regular setting (i.e. no COVID) this would be just to keep you paying for a little while longer, but considering this is the middle of a pandemic you would think this policy would be suspended. Others I know have strong negative opinion of the business because of this.

Cancelling a membership is the hardest thing to do with this gym. I’m canceling because I got charged as like a new member ...$52 dollars. I don’t know why when I been a member with them for about a year. I asked for a refund because $52 dollars is a lot and I have not been in the gym since COVID started. Got a respond back saying that they are sorry “I don’t care” about the contract I made with them and the $52 is for my monthly dues and service fee..... not coming back to this gym after my membership is canceled. They charged me $52 for a month I’m not going to use, they are going to charge me $50 more because I’m canceling AND on top of that “I’m responsible for any payments that falls into the 30 day period to cancel membership” so is another $30-$40 dollars more 🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻. This gym is so greedy.

This facility has incredibly poor customer service. We dont feel comfortable going to a gym during a pandemic and 425 fitness is making the separation process unbearable. I have reached out multiple times and have received NO response. I have complied with all the information they have requested and Im still getting charged for a membership we will not be using. Incredibly frustrating experience. Will not be returning to this franchise after the pandemic. Shame on you 425 Fitness.

425Fitness at Bothell has been charging $309 frequently + monthly charges of $43 and we have NO Clue why they are charging this amount inspite of asking them to cancel our membership. They are harassing customers in this Covid19 time. I am going to ask them for a refund, and I will update this review if they oblige. But Absolutely Avoid this gym.

I’ve been a member at 425 since it was a Golds Gym before. The owner obviously pays attention to the member base and truly wants to create a good environment for anybody who wants to go to the gym. There are enough cardio machines, weight machines, free weights and Olympic weights to go around and plenty of room for doing HIIT or plyometrics. The staff is friendly, and they have handled COVID well, providing everyone with their own sanitizing spray and rag.

I travel all over the west and workout in lots of different gyms. This gym has great weights and quality machines. This gym is clean and has a good vibe. I first came here when it was Golds and I will keep coming by to workout when iam in town. Dont trust anyone who does a review with no name.

Average gym, but the way they’re handling their business during lockdown is atrocious.I submitted a request in writing to cancel my membership at the 1 year mark. They continued billing me (at 100%, despite not being fully open, which I’m sure violates the “contract”) then they submitted the erroneous billing to collections under my minor son’s name, who I also had on the account.This is not how good business is done.

Matt is great and a super cool guy. All around this is a great place.

Im highly disappointed with the membership cancellation process because it is not convenient as they ask for in person cancellation or send them letter via mail. This is very illogical to send them a letter in a mail for cancelling the membership specially in this Tech Savvy era.

My friend who used to work here took me to this gym for the first time a year back before Gold’s Gym turned into 425 Fitness. I really wanted to experience a gym where Arnold one day worked out at and I definitely did.The equipment is fairly new and the staff was very friendly. Everyone was specialized in one way or another so it made sense to workout here.Generally, the audience here are the younger men and women trying to hook up with each other so beware of this aspect.Other than that, great gym!

Was a member of Golds Gym Bothell for 20+ years and the Hamilton family decided to drop the Golds Gym name and franchise and give the club a local feel. The only thing that has changed is the name and colors. The same great service and staff are in place and the club is still impeccably clean with great equipment. For those looking to get in shape and avoid the meat market gym feel, 425 Fitness is a great gym. No tanning or pool but a gym for people serious about conditioning and training.

I am not a member. We have a beautiful gym in my office that is free. However, I am training for a race and had a nine mile training run to do. My plan was to do it outside today, but the snow was just not melted enough. I called Golds and asked what it would cost to use a treadmill. They allowed me to come in for free and use the treadmill. I got my run done and don’t break my leg doing it! If I ever need a gym membership I will remember this!

This gym is under new management and they have made lots of improvements like upgrading all the lightning to Led and brought in new equipment. They do so much better at keeping the place clean every time I go I see at least one if not two people cleaning. The restrooms and changing areas are much cleaner then before. Overall improvements all around if you havent been there a year its a new place now!

I love Golds Gym! Everyone is super nice and knows you by name. The trainers are super accommodating, helpful and trusting so your experience is 100%!The front desk staff are also super helpful and nice to talk to. If you have any concerns or issues they are there to assist you quickly and painlessly.I also love that Golds equipment is accommodating to physical needs as well. I feel like I can work out safely and if I need help I can just ask.If someone were to ask me where they should go to work out or become a member of a gym I would say definitely check out Golds Gym! You wont regret it.

Tried out 425 fitness since I was new to the area. Anthony said “oh you’re gym shopping” instead of providing any helpful knowledge. Majority of the benches and upper body machines are not even bolted down to the floor. Small gym feel & the staff didn’t provide customer service that was beyond mediocre.

Bothell Golds Gym has a very friendly and professional atmosphere geared for customer satisfaction and results. The staff was extremely helpful in providing me with what I needed. The members are also exceptionally welcoming and motivational as there is a very high level group of athletes who are focused on their workouts but kind enough to answer simple fitness questions. The gym has all the equipment needed for what ever your fitness goals are to make your body healthy and strong. All in all definitely one of the best gyms the PNW has to offer. I am very happy with my new gym.

Went with a friend who is a member and has dramatically changed her appearance. Was welcomed in free to try, and it was at the right time for me to start making my health a priority! The facility has a ton of equipment, is clean and the staff is super friendly! Good bang for your buck!

Ive been going to golds for 6 years. I loved the old staff. The new staff here seem super snobby and dont even acknowledge you when you walk in. I honestly think its super rude to not greet your members especially since Ive been a member for awhile. I love the gym itself, and Im very comfortable there but wish the new staff had better manners.

Such a great gym. It has all the important equipments. Great parking facilities. You can get monthly membership at just 29$ which is great considering all the amazing equipments the gym has.

The gym is in fabulous Condition. The staff there are so inviting and helpful the environment is friendly and safe. The best gym Ive ever been to. Very clean and machines are in great condition. Bathrooms are spotless and well light and provide you the opportunity to shower.

Great place to workout and clean

Went for an NPC posing clinic but was denied entry at the door by staff because I had my 7 year old son with me. The front desk staff, whom mentioned she was the manager, was unable to provide any details beyond “its because insurance”.I understand not allowing children on the gym floor for liability (and practical) purposes, but certainly a supervised child in an empty studio doesn’t meet the same legal criteria. If that wasn’t the case a more detailed explanation would have been nice.

New name same great experience and same great staff at the newly rebranded and locally owned 425 Fitness Bothell most recently Gold’s Gym which I’ve been a member since moving to the area back in 2008.Looking forward to the gym’s future plans on investing in upgrading the machines now that they are no longer tied to Gold’s Gyms franchise terms.

Really unfortunate experience at 425 fitness in Bothell. I was referred to the club from a client of mine. Interested in eventually joining, I just walked in to ask about what sort of temporary passes were available. I was even willing to pay for it. Anthony said that they don’t offer anything like a 30 day pass, but just a full membership or $15 per day. I said that’s too bad, and I just walked out. He didn’t even offer a trial of any kind. Guess I’ll look elsewhere.

Great gym for all types of exercise. From cardio to powerlifting. Lots of machines as well as free weights.

I use to like Golds gym a lot, it was my favorite gym because the diverse workout equipment, Friendly staff, and 24 hour access! It’s not 24 hours anymore!!! No longer a 24 hour access and the current hours suck... unless you want to wake up at 5am or 6am- you might. It is the worst gym in the area for convenient hours. If you are looking for a gym that can accommodate your schedule do not count on this gym. In my opinion they could solve the problem by leaving the gym open until 12 PM. Or at the very least leave the gym open until 12PM, except Fridays and Saturdays- leave it open until 11 PM.The other thing that caught my eye is the turnover rate with staff. I think it’s unusually high or at the very least it has been recently. That tells me there’s something wrong with the leadership. There has been other issues as well that have to do with the way leadership traits customers/clientele but those will not be helpful to hear as they only affect my personal experience. What will affect most people’s personal experience is the combination of inconsistent hours and staff staying employed which makes for very awkward environment. I definitely recommending going to another gym, try another gym.I say all this reluctantly because I love my personal trainer who works there! He’s giving me fantastic results and I can’t thank you enough! It sucks that the leadership of the gym has such poor performance that it would drive clientele away from their personal trainers- I will continue to work with my personal trainer but I know many people have left and continue to leave the gym because they were promised better hours and access to a place they pay to frequent.

A great place to go friendly staff and good equipment

I have been a member at this gym for over 15 years, and this gym has really gone down hill over the years. I think most of it has to do with poor ownership decisions. They spent a ton of money on a climbing rock, and then when no one used it, they packed a bunch of equipment around it so that it cant be used at all. They got rid of all spin classes, and a whole bunch of other classes as well. They got rid of their towel service, and their childcare. If you want to clean up your equipment, they expect you to grab one of the totally disgusting towels that are hanging around the gym and are filled with strangers sweat. But thats okay, because they never really enforce any of the gym rules anyway. Then they spent money making up a movie room with treadmills in it to replace the childcare room. The equipment is often broken, and when you notify them about it, they put a sign on it, and it stays there for several weeks, and then the sign gets removed, but oftentimes the equipment is not fixed. The owner, John Hamilton, seems like a decent guy, but I have not seen him at the gym for years. Maybe this is the problem. He also owns two other gyms in the area, and they are much nicer. This is obviously the runt of the litter and it shows. They also really are known for their high pressure sales tactics. The manager is a complete jerk. When my daughter grew old enough, I wanted to quit paying for the childcare and switch her to our membership. The cost should have significantly less, but it wasnt. They also charged me $110 for the paperwork. This, after I have been a customer there for so long. Parking is also a huge problem. During busy times, there are often staff that park in the fire lanes, which is illegal. They also have ensured that their parking spaces are extremely small and difficult to get in and out of. The only reason that I go here is because it is so close to my house.

Super easy experience to get going. After a week-long trial (including classes), grabbing a membership took just a few minutes and not only can I bring my wife as a guest each time I go, but theres no commitment or long-term contract so I know Ill be going there because I want to be there. The staff is very nice and theres a nice selection of equipment (all clean and almost all of it in perfect working order). And the included classes and small group training offer a nice variety of ways to stay in shape. A great value and Im happy to have joined!

Just moved here from Vancouver, WA, I like it so far whenever I get to go in. I have had to reschedule my PT session a couple times and they have been awesome about it. I cant wait to go more. The environment is quiet and welcoming.

Great gym. Staff and members are very friendly and helpful. A lot of people here are very serious about their fitness goals and always try to help out and wont complain when you ask for a spot. The only thing that i could reccomend is more space for equipment during peak hours but they just kind of did that so no complaints really.

They have all the equipment I need for lifting! Nice staff. Wouldnt mind if they cleaned the showers, theyre pretty dirty but otherwise I cant really complain.

What gym does not have a towel service??? Especially considering how much money this location generates, its always busy. They do not maintain their machines is top condition, especially the cardio machines. Just cheap owners, plain & simple. It just shows a lack of consideration for its members.

It is a bit of a small gym and doesnt have a pool but it makes up for those drawbacks with a variety of equipment and an obvious attention to cleanliness. Also, the staff ids very friendly and helpful. Its a pretty nice little gym.

All the front desk staff was warm and welcoming when I came into the gym. The sales rep was helpful and understood my “to the point” questions and time. Keshawn answered all my questions, got me signed up and all taken care of in under 10 minutes. He was kind, relatable, and professional. Great place to workout at.

People are so negative. I dropped in here 3 times over Christmas break while visiting my sisters family. In short: this gym defines new old school, has two of everything needed to workout, and is staffed by friendly people.The old school iron weights were a really cool experience and a great change from the rubberized iron at every corporate golds in the south. Additionally, they were all in great shape, and kept immaculately clean.On cleanliness: There are wet sanitized wipes stationed throughout the gym, as well as towel and spray bottles. There was literally an employee wiping the handles of every dumbbell with sanitizer while I worked out. Wow.As for employees: when I dropped in Christmas Eve I thought my corporate membership would apply. I found out that this and all golds in Washington are franchise golds. The guy understood my error and let me workout no problem. That easy, that friendly. This review is the least I can do to return the kindness.Additionally, there is 2 or more of everything. Squat racks, presses, machines, stair masters (4).I travel for work now and have been sick of only seeing petty vindictive reviews left for gyms. Seriously, grow up people. This is the first in what will be gym ratings for every gym I drop in to in the US. This gym rocks and has everything you need. Dont hesitate to go here.
